Dangerous Game is the third and final title in The Phoenix Three series, this time giving us the heartwrenching story of Cooper and Kendall as they search for their missing child… the daughter Cooper had no idea existed before this crisis. Someone is making this personal, as Kendall is the kidnapper’s next intended target.

I enjoyed Dangerous Game on so many levels. It’s a compelling Romantic Suspense as we learn why Cooper was unaware of his daughter, and his (and his partners’) determination to find her quickly, while protecting Kendall. Yet, their story is not only about finding “the One” and eventually making that commitment to each other as solid as can be, but also the effect that trauma of any kind, but particularly PTSD, has on not only the person but their friends and family as well. This was shown with grace and compassion.

Kendall and Cooper’s story is well-written, intense, full of tender and terrifying moments, and passion when two lost souls find their perfect partner again. I loved the interactions between the friends who formed Phoenix Three from their own experiences and their loved ones, as they supported Kendall and Cooper as the found family they have become. It’s always a bittersweet moment for me when a series comes to a close, but this one will be on my re-read list. If this sounds like your kind of Romantic Suspense, then you’d love Dangerous Game or any of the titles within the series.

This is the third and last book of the series about three best friends. They became friends when they were kidnapped and spent two weeks wondering if they would ever be rescued. After that experience, these now best friends, all became elite military warriors, and years later formed The Phoenix Three. A security company dedicated to rescue kids.
This one belongs to Cooper Devlin. His childhood was very different from that of his two friends, but that inspired him to become a better man.
When he gets a call from a desperate woman whose little girl has been kidnapped, he is shocked that this woman, Kendall Hart, was the same one he spent an unforgettable night years ago and that the child is his.
From that moment on the story goes from a rescue of a child to the kidnapper’s next potential victim, Kendall.
In the midst of finding out who the evil man is, feelings intensify.
Will they discover the culprit before it’s too late? Will these two and their child get their HEA or will the evil man win in the end?
The story grabs the attention of the readers from the first page to the last.
Kudos to the author for bringing to light PTSD and the effects it has on the victim suffering from it as well as their families. PTSD does not only affect the military, but any child or adult that has experienced a traumatic event that will change their lives forever.
The engaging plot and the complex main characters make this another winner in the series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Harlequin. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

A thrilling conclusion to this amazing series! Once started, I couldn’t stop reading until the last page! Teens Cooper Devlin, Liam O’Rourke and Grayson Montana once spent two weeks as the victims of kidnapping, until they were rescued. They have kept in touch, over the years, and as former retired military, they formed The Phoenix Three. They are dedicated to hunt and save missing children, arrest the guilty and support families. When Cooper gets a phone call from a woman whose daughter was just kidnapped, he has no idea how this case will change his life! Kendall Hart had been kidnapped when she was a young girl and that trauma has followed her throughout her life. When her young daughter, Olivia, is kidnapped, she calls the one man who might be able to find Olivia…Cooper Devlin. She has only learned who he is and that they had spent one night together, a night he brought her peace from her tortured memories…and Olivia. Cooper is shocked to receive a phone call from Kendall as he thought that he would never see her again. He wasn’t aware that she hosted a podcast that provided information on missing children. Along with his “brothers” he vows to find Olivia. If and when they find Olivia, will the threats be over or will they have to stay on alert for the future? Will Olivia accept him as the daddy she had longed for? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

The final book in the Phoenix Three series absolutely lives up to its predecessors. While it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the entire series for the fullest experience.

This installment follows Cooper, the third member of the team and the “odd man out.” Unlike the others, he didn’t come from money and hasn’t yet found his person or settled down. Out of nowhere, Cooper receives a shocking phone call — he has a daughter he never knew about, and she’s missing. Suddenly, it’s up to him to rescue and protect the child he’s only just learned exists.

That initial crisis is resolved fairly quickly, but it opens the door to a deeper, underlying story that unfolds gradually. The plot is full of surprises, terrific action, and nonstop suspense. The intensity pulled me in from the very first page and never let go.

I especially loved the sense of humor woven throughout the story, as well as the strong supporting characters and their individual arcs. The friendship, loyalty, and affection within the Phoenix Three and their families add heart and warmth to an already gripping story.

A satisfying and exciting conclusion to a fantastic series!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving this honest, personal, and unbiased review.

Spinetingling suspense and rewarding romance.

The final book in the Phoenix Three series is a spine-tingling thriller that follows Cooper, the last of the Phoenix Three, to find “the one.” Feeling like the odd man out as his two friends settle down, his world is suddenly upended when he receives a call from Kendall, a woman he spent one unforgettable night with five years ago — a woman he’s never been able to get out of his mind. Their daughter is missing… and since they didn’t exchange names that night, Cooper is shocked to learn the child is his. This sets him on a mission that embodies what the Phoenix Three stands for: rescuing and protecting children.

Sandra Owens delivers terrific action, and this book is packed with suspense, intensity, and heartfelt romance. I was immediately engrossed and found myself deeply invested in the characters. It’s a nonstop ride from beginning to end. Ms. Owens also handles heavier themes, including kidnapping and PTSD, with dignity and compassion. I couldn’t put this book down once I started reading. Although it can be read as a standalone, reading the first two books gave me a greater understanding of the bond between the three men and their partners — and those books are every bit as compelling and not to be missed.

I received an advance copy for review of Dangerous Game. The 3rd and final book in Sandra’s, Phoenix Three. Cooper Devlin’s book. I really wish they offered more stars for reviews. This is definitely far surpassed a 5 star rating. Seriously, I adore ALL of Sandra’s stories and all of her heroes, but Copper is definitely at the top of my list of favorites of hers. He’s DEFINITELY my favorite of the Phoenix Three guys. As much as I loved them as well. I don’t want to give too much away. But Cooper gets a call from Kendall Hart, a one night stand he had 5 years prior, informing him that their daughter is missing. Like I said, I fell in love with Cooper. He was an amazing insta Daddy, to Olivia ‘Livvie’, who was adorable. I’m normally not a fan of secret kids, because it makes the women look bad. Sandra did it the way it should be done. They didn’t know each other’s names ( until Kendall saw the Phoenix Three article and Cooper’s picture.) She had no way to contact him until then. No one was at fault. She didn’t deliberately keep Livvie from him. It was also the best second chance stories I’ve read. I couldn’t put it down and spent my entire weekend reading it. Now I’m sad I’m finished.

There are very few authors who can completely immerse me in a story from the very first page. Sandra Owens is absolutely one of them. The moment I see one of her books pop up in my NetGalley queue, everything else stops. Sleep? Optional. Responsibilities? Questionable. I fully blame Owens for my chronic lack of bedtime discipline.

This is the third book in the Phoenix Three trilogy, and while all three have been riveting, I have been patiently (and not so patiently) waiting for Cooper’s story. Let me just say—it was everything I hoped it would be and then some.

Owens has a real talent for weaving intrigue and suspense into her stories without pushing it into uncomfortable territory. She gives you that delicious chill-down-the-spine feeling while keeping the balance just right. And the romance? Perfectly interwoven, never forced, and completely swoon-worthy.

Now the real question: where does one find their own Phoenix Three? And please tell me we haven’t seen the last of Bear and Hollywood—because those two absolutely have a story left to tell.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (and a very tired reader who loved every minute)

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange from my honest opinion

First thank you NetGalley and publisher for providing me a copy of this book before it’s been released.
This is the third book and it started when Grayson, Liam and Cooper were taken themselves. They got rescued; and from there they agreed to keep in touch. What transpired next was to start a company known as The Phoenix Three. They will locate missing children. When Cooper gets a call telling him he has a daughter, and she’s been kidnapped he’s shocked. He drops everything to be with the woman he spent one amazing night with.
Kendall is beside herself with Olivia being taken. When Cooper arrives she’s happy, but feels guilty. All she wants is her daughter back.
Cooper tells Kendall she has a team behind her. They will find Olivia. When they do she’s distraught which is understandable with what she went through. What they find out is the person is after Kendall. They have to draw him out. He’s a devoted fan who listens to her podcast. So Grayson, Liam and Cooper are all over it. They won’t stop until they find who’s behind what’s happening.
A must read series. You must read in order.

Sometimes you just need a book where you are guaranteed a happy ending despite having to go through trauma to get there. Kendall was kidnapped as a child but got away quickly so she is very careful with her daughter, Olivia. Her worst nightmare come true when she gets notified that her babysitter was hit over the head and her daughter kidnapped. One piece of good luck happens, as she realizes that one member of the Phoenix Three group who rescues kidnapped children is her daughter's father. She immediately reaches out to Cooper and he drops everything to go to her and help. When Olivia is released the next day, they realize that this is more going on with the situation. Cooper takes Kendall and Olivia to his place to keep everyone safe and so he and his team can figure out what is going on. The story is fast paced with a mix of suspense, mystery and family time. For Kendall and Cooper, they get their second chance of happiness but not before going through a lot of harrowing situations.

DANGEROUS GAME by Sandra Owens
Release Date March 31,2026

I loved this series!!! I think this was my favorite. But I may have said that about the first 2 also. This is the final book in the Phoenix Three series. I can’t express enough how wonderful each book was. But you can read as a standalone because Sandra opens each book with how the 3 men met.

This is Coopers story and WOW is it great. Imagine having a one night stand. You don’t even exchange names. And then five years later you find out you’re a father and your daughter has gone missing.

Kendall never intended to keep Cooper from his daughter. But because they never exchanged names, she had no way of finding him. One day while doing her blog, she saw a picture of the man she had that one night stand with. And it’s a good thing she did because she needed his help when her daughter went missing.

I can’t even express how wonderful the story was. And definitely worth more than five stars.

Surpasses Awesome!

I began reading this morning When I arrived to work 2 hours earlier than I should have been there. In first few pages I was hooked and as continued to crawl into my book and feel my characters I was addicted. Every spare moment and break I was reading and as soon as I was off and got home I was back reading. I have cried, laughed, felt furious at moments and wanted to kill the man who kidnapped Livie and Kendal myself. I could have saved Cooper and Kendal if I could have actually crawled in the book myself. I was in edge of my seat. And the heart filled with love for Coopers careful caring and love for Kendal, and lovi.g his daughter so fully. I love the phoenix three all of them! I can't say which was my favorite but I am partial to Cooper, Ruby, Livie and Kendal. But I think I am in Love with Graysons father who was a man who brought them all together!

5 stars for this awesome book.

Mesmerizing. Intriguing. Suspenseful. That describes Sandra Owens' new book, Dangerous Game.

The Phoenix Three begins when three teenagers are kidnapped, then rescued. The teens, Cooper, Devlin, and Liam, formed a group to help other kidnap victims.

Cooper Devlin couldn't believe it when he discovered he had a child, and that child had been kidnapped. The mother (and his one-night stand) called him and asked for his help in finding their daughter. That's only the first of many twists and turns in this story.

Owen's book takes you on an up-and-down ride to figure out how Cooper, Liam, and Devlin rescue the young girl. And that's only the beginning of the story.

Dangerous Game is a five-star read by Sandra Owens.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book before its release.

Kendall was kidnapped as a child which shaped her life. Her one night stand produces a child who is also kidnapped. Cooper didn't know he was a father, until Kendall called and then he was all in. Its a story of a mad man who is in his twisted mind thinks Kendall is his, Cooper who wants to be a dad and wants to see where his attraction to Kendal will go and the brothers of the Phoenix 3 and how they solve the cases of missing children. The characters are as always with Ms Owens novel believable and remind the reader of people you would know in real life. Its a HEA but not without the twists and turns that make this author a joy to read. Can't wait to see what Ms Owens comes up with next.

Cooper is a member of a 3 person team who were kidnapped together as teens. He was the only one without money though. At the time of this book he is the only one of the 3 that hasn't found their person. Things change though when he gets a call that changes his life. He's told he has a daughter from a one nightstand he didn't know about, and she's missing. You see the 3 person team helps rescue the kidnapped. As the story goes we begin to learn that there is more to this story. Kendall the mom in the picture was kidnapped as a kid and this is his way of bringing about revenge. There is some discussion of PTSD in this story as well. Everyone must work together to take down who is hunting down Kendall. What will they do to keep them safe? Will everything work out in the end?

I really liked this series and the main characters in each story. This last one in the series did not disappoint. The bond between Cooper and the other men in this series is so strong. I love their friendship. Cooper himself is a strong man, but doesn’t try to dominate. I really liked his way of dealing with things. Learning he has a daughter the day she is kidnapped could have gone so many ways with his character, but the way he handled learning about Livie and seeing Kendall again was admirable. The suspense built up at a really good pace. The action was written well and kept me turning pages. The story was well written and I enjoyed all of it. I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, given to me by Harlequin - Romance via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A story featuring relatable, lovable characters, “Dangerous Game”, by Sandra Owens, blends romance and suspense showing that dreams sometimes come true.
I loved the romantic plotline and how well Cooper and Kendall match. The chemistry and passion is still there and watching them turn into something deeper is wonderful. The new family with the little girl is sweet and natural.
The trust between them is captivating. The immediate connection between Cooper and Livie and his gentleness with her are wonderful, too.
I liked the sense of humor, the supporting characters, their stories and the friendship and affection within The Phoenix Three and their families.
The way Kendall’s trauma was handled was realistic and sober.

Outstanding

If Sandra could write us a book every week I would read it. I fall in love with her characters every single time. This final book of the magnificent series The Phoenix Three was an absolute pleasure to read. I was hooked and could not put the book down. The storyline, and characters are brilliant. Cooper and his little family were adorable. I love Cooper, Kendall and Livie together. They made my heart melt. There was lots of drama and suspense that made me hold my breath with anticipation. Thankfully the boys came through again. All I can say is bring on more please Sandra. I love all of your stories.

ARC review

I almost skipped this entirely due to Harlequin’s recent embrace of AI, but as I’d already grabbed the ARC and made a commitment, I didn’t want to punish the author.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t a win for me. DNF @ 40%, which is rare for me. The writing and plotting is very basic and I honestly found the characters annoying. I don’t know why anyone would kidnap any of them, because I did not want to spend more time with them. The emotional reactions that each character has to major events in the story just rings really false.

Thanks to Harlequin for the review copy. All opinions are my own.

Kendall Hart's daughter is kidnapped and the only one to help is the father. When Cooper Devlin finds out he is a father and his daughter has been kidnapped he is on the hunt. Cooper and his town friends run and organization that find missing children. Kendall had no way to contact Cooper about her pregnancy years ago, but he is there now and will do anything to rescue his daughter.
When her daughter is returned the kidnapper lets Kendall know he is not done with her. See Kendall was abducted years ago and it's the same man.

Sandra Owens is a favorite author of mine. She writes excellent storylines with characters that are easy to like. This one did not disappoint! Book three of the series, and I absolutely love these guys! The Phenix Three have such a special place in my heart. I didn't want to put the book down. I was completely invested. My heart squeezed for Cooper and Kendall throughout the book. I found myself holding my breath several times. A beautiful HEA. I look forward to listening to the audiobook as well!

(4.5) What a refreshing twist on a surprise pregnancy. Well done! I enjoyed the openness, the willingness of both party's mom Kendall and dad Cooper. I am so grateful I was able to receive and advance copy because Dangerous Game delivered on several levels, maturity, suspense, a child's love and the deep dark hole people can climb into and need help getting out. I knew who the perp was (no, not by name) and when that happens I am waiting for the characters to catch up. The epilogue was the chef's delight. #DangerousGame #ThePhoenixThree #SandraOwens #Harlequin #RomanticSuspense #NetGalley

is this sad, absolutely

all of them, Broken family, psycho, missing children, someone dies but others not, then living with a hell life till the end even worse to hurt the others.

i seen it, used to working in a foster system that, the three generations were in trouble, grandmas knocked up when she was 16 so did the daughter and the grand daughter was putting under the system

that not way out for those family, not because they didn’t want, is they have no power to overcome the situation

it’s so sad

Loved this book! This is a fast paced novel that tells Cooper's story. In it, we learn about the night he met Kendall and they created their daughter. It was just a one night stand until Kendall saw an article with Cooper's picture in it...
The timing was fortuitous, as a few days later, their daughter was kidnapped. Cooper drops everything to rush to find his daughter. Along the way, both he and Kendall realize there's still a spart between them....but will it survive a situation that has Kendall fighting for her very life.

Fans of the genre will love this book. It's filled with action and romance, even as it tackles the tough subjects of child abduction and PTSD.

Put this at the top of your TBR list. While part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. Cooper didn’t know he had a child until Kendall called him and told her she was kidnapped . Cooper was right there, him and Liam and Greyson from the phoenix three worked together to find out who the kidnapper was. Then when Kendall got kidnapped Cooper and Gray did everything they could to save her. I’m glad that Kendall had someone that stayed by her side and helped her. The end was amazing. Definitely a 5 star must read

There are 3 books to The Phoenix Three. First book is about Grayson, the second book is about Liam and this book is about Cooper. This series is so well planned that everything just flows. The theme that brought these 3 main characters is very original. As this author writes, her books just get better and better to actually me say “Wow”. What a special gift to have to write something so brilliant and creative. Preorder or buy the book, you won’t be disappointed.

I was intrigued by the blurb, and this hit the vibes I was hoping for! Cooper finding out he’s a dad AND that his daughter’s missing all at the same time? I ate it up.Cooper & Kendall have plenty of chemistry, proof that their one night together years ago wasn’t a fluke. I loved them working together and actually getting to know each other! This was a quick read with plenty of suspense!

Even though this is suspense, reading a Sandra story feels cozy and warm. I did not, but could, imagine myself wrapped in a blanket with a cup of tea wondering what in the world is going to happen next? Let me say that Cooper is the perfect man. Sandra really knows how to endear us to these men (and women). It was cute and funny and romantic and sweet and horrifying all at the same time. Loved it.

Finding out that his one night stand from five years ago resulted in a daughter was surprising for Cooper but discovering that his daughter had been kidnapped and her mother Kendall needed his help was shocking. This book has lots of emotion, terror and fear but also love. I liked that Cooper and Kendall were able to rekindle their romance and hope to become a family.

Along came a family

Cooper, Kendal, Olivia and Ruby were meant to be a family though none of them could have dreamed it. Three people and a dog. Two cities. Two couples. Three kidnappings. Ongoing nightmares. And a kidnapped still actively pursuing the one that got away. It's up to The Phoenix three to end the terror. What a good read!
