Denise River is an author who writes sassy and steamy contemporary romances. She lives outside of Columbus, Ohio with her husband and two kids. Her love for romance book boyfriends and the strong heroines who captivate them began when she learned to read, way before she was meant to dive into romance novels. Her books are filled with witty banter, tension, and steam that lead to unforgettable climaxes.
She loves cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. Denise enjoys the serenity of her five o'clock mornings, where most of her writing takes place. It is during these early hours that she can savor a warm cup of coffee while crafting romantic stories to delight her readers. Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/deniseriver... Natasha has been in love with Ethan Sullivan since medical college but never had the courage to do anything. She takes advice from Rachel, her bodyguard and only friend, and when she finds him alone takes the chance and kisses him. She goes on to apply for a job at his hospital, but ends up working at his twin brother Ian's instead and though she's still keen on Ethan she starts to feel attracted to Ian as well.
Ian is the youngest of the Sullivan brothers and often mistaken for his twin. He's not as confident with women, who always seem to prefer Ethan to him, so when Natasha kisses him in the park he doesn't correct her calling him Ethan. When she then starts working at his hospital he's delighted and with Ethan away he takes on his twins' persona to let her down easily and win her over as himself.
A brilliant story full of lies, insecurities, steamy romance and plenty of humour. Told from the POVs of Natasha and all three Sullivan brothers (mostly Ian), it's lovely to see how all of their relationships are connected and how well they work as one big family (most of the time).
If you enjoy doctor romances I would strongly recommend all of the Sullivan brother's stories, as well as the others in this Small Town Romances collection.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am voluntarily leaving a review after receiving an ARC from Hidden Gems.
It was good. The first 2 chapters were a little off-putting. The chapters gave a background into Ian and Natasha's lives. The third chapter is where the story begins. Ian and Natasha are relatable characters. I do feel for them and their situation.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Awesome Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2025 Best book of the series! Wonderful writing and expression of how broken Ian was. At times you just want to cry for him. Loved all the Sullvan’s, but Ian is the favorite.
I thought the background of the characters were good, but this lost some stars due to the believability factor. I don't think the mistaken twin thing really worked for me and I didn't quite believe her growing a spine.
