Utter Decimation: A Post Apocalyptic CME/EMP Survival Thriller

Rate this book
Eight days after a catastrophic solar storm, America is on fire. Cities burn, food, and water are scarce, and nowhere is safe.

Carson and Julie battle through the chaos with Carson’s elderly parents, making their way north through the collapsing city of Dallas.

Meanwhile, Willow forges her own path west through the ruined cities and countryside of Kentucky with Knox and Guynn. When she reaches her mother's home in the Ozarks of Arkansas, she finds Bee struggling to keep the hospital open where she volunteers her time, but the medical team there is out of time and options. Their only hope lies in a deadly supply run into the heart of dying Little Rock.

As the Carlisle family fights to reunite, old wounds are torn open and new enemies emerge. Every mile becomes a battle for survival in a world where civilization has crumbled and the darkest instincts humanity reign.

Utter Decimation is a gritty, pulse-pounding tale of resilience, sacrifice, and the unbreakable family bonds that endure when everything else falls apart.

Still raising the bar for post-CME thrillers!

Utter Decimation, book 4 in the Black Sky Event series, is still raising the bar for the post-CME survival thriller genre! The book has such a high narrative quality that its a cut above the other post-CME thriller novels, and there are no shortage of them recently. Despite horrible losses and surprise victories, and though everywhere is a battle, literally and figuratively, the Carlisle family (plus Julie, Knox, Whitney, Richmond and others) stands strong no matter what the world might throw at them. The characters themselves are the real standouts here, they're so well developed, yet still have the ability to grow and to rise to any challenge they're faced with. The dialog is perfectly matched to the plot and immaculate pacing. Our protagonists even manage to help a few people along the way, they're not just looking to survive, they want to thrive, and nothing will stop that from happening. I can't wait for Utter Domination! 5/5 stars, this book is absolutely outstanding and fans of any thriller, but especially post-EMP/CME survival thrillers, will love this book, and the entire Black Sky Event series which sets the standard for the entire post-EMP/CME survival thriller genre! Don't miss out on this series!

This has been a good series, but I will admit to being taken back a bit when I realized that only some days had passed since the onset of the CME and not the weeks that it feels like. Would society fall apart that quickly and completely? I'm dubious. I also think they may want to not have Carson drive since he seems to wreck their vehicles a bit too often. Guynn is still a big favorite and I like the new characters that have "joined". On to book 5.

A Series That Keeps You Wanting More!

I’ve loved every book in this series, but this one is DEFINITELY MY FAVORITE!!

I’ve loved these unbelievably strong characters, all based around one family who are all really kick-a$$ people!! They keep picking up people and inspiring them not to give up!! Even Sophie the cat is a pretty amazing little thing! I love how smart she is and knows where she’s safe and stays close to Carson and Julie.

They’ve all come together at last, and now that they survived and are reunited, the next step is managing to learn how to live without the power grid. They have some really smart and hard working people, but they’re still going to have to protect their own. I’m looking forward to the next book to see how everything turns out!! I love that the Colonel is sticking around. Willow won his heart, and Knox too. They went through a lot together.

Seeing what has happened to the world in like 9 or 10 days since the solar event, is unbelievable! It’s scary how unprepared the world was and makes you wonder what would happen if this ever really happened. This is one of my favorite Post Apocalyptic Survival Thriller series!! I highly recommend checking it out!

SURVIVAL

This is the fourth book in the series and can be read as a standalone novel but to understand everything that has transpired it is best to start with book one. Willow, Knox, Guynn have finally made it to Arkansas. Carson, Julie, and Carson's Dad, Arthur are on their way. All are trying to reunite with Bee; Carson and Willow's mother. After the CME/EMP, the world is becoming more and more dangerous. Read this exciting thriller to see how this group of survivors survive!

This whole series is found family. The characters are amazing and you find yourself rooting for them and hoping the best at the next chapter. The struggle to survive and live. To hold on to hope and the end of the world. The fight to scavenge and find supplies, to dig deep for that last strength. I just love this series so much.

As always a really good story! Another great addition to this series, more strife & struggle for the main characters when they seem to be faced with absolutely no hope at all. A well written & interesting plot, which kept me up late reading as I needed to get to the end! A good fun read!

Love it

Love these books they're always so good. I learn a lot from them. If something like this was really to happen to our country we definitely need to be prepared. And that is why I really like to read survivalist books.
