Greyson
She took my brother from me, so I will take everything from her.
Scarlett Sharpe conspired with her father to murder my brother in cold blood.
She thought she’d get away with it.
She thought wrong.
In the dead of night, I steal her away from the life she knew, shackling her in a cell built for pain and vengeance.
Each day, I devise new ways to break her down one sliver at a time. Make her beg for mercy, only to deliver none…
But then, new evidence surfaces, and everything changes. Scarlett’s innocent—she’s just a pawn in someone else’s twisted game.
Now, I’m left with two options; get rid of her for good… or claim her as mine.

Scarlett
Guilty until proven innocent…
I’ve been beholden to cruel men for my entire life. First, my father, and now, the monster who took me captive and dumped me in a cell.
He says I killed his brother. That he’ll stop at nothing to get revenge.
He wants me to tell him everything I know, and when I can’t, the pain he inflicts is unimaginable.
But beneath his cruel visage I see glimpses of something that makes my heart fall; a grieving soul lost to the madness of sorrow.
I see the man he used to be, the one who terrifies me more than the monster he’s become.
Because that man? He’s starting to want me.
And the monster wants to keep me.
Proving my innocence was my goal…
but now I don’t know if that’s enough to grant me my freedom.

Something about the flow was off to me. The just couldn’t buy these two characters together. From the gitgo I found it almost cartoonish like an overacted episode of Batman. The evil head of the group of assassins convinces the mmc that the fmc lured his brother to death just by showing a selfie of her. Oh wow she’s pretty she must have caused your brothers death. It just made them look dumb. Like don’t they have resources? They are a several hundred years old society of assassins and they already don’t trust their leader. So
Anyway the mmc waterboards, stabs in the thigh, starves, slaps, chokes and leaves the fmc chained in a dark torture chamber for 10 days. Mean while his bestie yanks off all of her fingernails and toenails. Breaks her ribs and does other various and sundry heinous torture to her person. Keep in mind this is an innocent 20 yo college student. When she is literally dying he finds out he truth that she IS INNOCENT. Suddenly he’s obsessed with her and wants to claim her. Uhm yeah that’s a big hell to the no! At the end there’s a cliffy after she gives him the old sailor returned from the sea treatment— just a spot of oleander tea. I’m not sure if the writing style is for me. I’m willing to try another book. This one was just fell flat to me.

DNF at 44%. It was SO boring! And also confusing..
So you have the dumb as fuck MMC who’s twin brother has been killed
FMC’s father supposedly killed him and had her ‘help’ but she was framed.
MMC kidnaps her and she endures 10 days of absolute torture - stabbed in the thigh, starved, waterboarded, fingernails and toenails ripped off and other methods of torture that aren’t detailed.
Then they find out she was telling the truth and didn’t have anything to do with the murder so instead of letting her go the MMC decides he now wants to claim her, what a shock! 🙄

One thing that really annoyed me about this book was how the MMC and his friend ‘cain’ talk about how much they despise rapists and that they would never ever do this to a woman, but then the next thing you know they’re going back to old traditions and picking a ‘chosen’ for themselves who doesn’t get a choice if she wants to be with them or not. They’re going to train them and also punish them if they do not do as they are told. Like what? How do you go from despising rapists to then turning into one?? WHATTTT?? The MMC literally keeps groping her breast and playing with her nipple to which she tells him to get off her she doesn’t want him touching her etc and his reply is ‘I own your body I’ll touch you whenever and wherever I want’ like yeah just fuck off im not finishing this 😂

Where to even begin with this book? Went into it with a completely different mindset, as I hadn't heard of this author before. And I was honored to be chosen as a beta reader.

This story is heartbreak, anguish, struggle, and violence amongst twisted love, all packaged with a bloody little bow on top.

Greyson, is the MMC and he is so caught up in himself and his grief that he does some things that made my jaw absolutly DROP ON THE FLOOR (along with my panties 🤤). But his character evolution is top tier!

Cain is an absolute ASSHOLE and I truly hope karma gets him in the end of it all.

Scarlet is *such* a badass FMC in the best of ways. Tough as nails, resilient even when she is on the brink....she just keeps going. (Must be the red hair)

The writing style is very unique and you can tell Lilith really spends time with her characters on a deeper level (the poor woman!)

I must warn folks though, this book will absolutly unlock a fetish for waterboarding👀 Gives new meaning to staying hydrated. Which is *very* important while reading this one because it is spicy!

“I’ve already learned how enthusiastic you are about water intake.” is by far one of my favorite quotes!

Also, make sure you charge all your buzzing friends, and/or buy batteries. And I would reccomend doubling up on the towels ;)

This book is an absolute solid 5 for me. I am gnawing at the bars of my enclosure waiting for the second book🥵

Savage Captor is an ultra-dark romance - perhaps not quite even a romance in this book of the series. If you are interested in reading, please check the triggers.

This book was a challenging one! The story centers on the FMC, Scarlett, who is captured by the MMC, Greyson, because he believes she got his brother killed by leading him to her father. Greyson is in one crime organization, while Scarlett's family is the head of another, and he intends to kill her for what she's done. Things take a turn when Greyson finds that Scarlett is innocent, and he instead decides to "keep" Scarlett as his chosen - a woman he will train as his submissive, of sorts, and keep to serve him within the organization.

The chemistry between the characters is difficult. Right from the beginning, it's obvious that they are attracted to each other, but the premise on which they meet - her capture - makes it difficult for them to trust each other. Most of the book involves them taking baby steps forward and then giant steps backward in their relationship, which becomes frustrating. But by the end the chemistry does resurface a bit, and it looks like the second book in this series will bring more interesting dynamics between these characters.

As mentioned in the book description, this book does have some similarities to Shantel Tessier's Lords series - but although the FMC attends university at the beginning, the story doesn't take place in the school setting at all. And unlike the girls in the Lords books, Scarlett is not resigned to becoming a "chosen" and living her life in service to a man - in fact, although she was brought up for something like that, she has escaped her family's lifestyle and vowed to have her own career and independent future. That's what makes the chemistry here extra difficult - while I would still argue that even in the Lords books the characters have doubtful chemistry most of the time, and much of those books also center on torture/dubcon/noncon scenes, this story seems extra tricky because Scarlett has no reason to be resigned to giving herself to Greyson. And she is one fierce FMC - she doesn't plan on giving up.

The spice here is both really hot and very troubling. Most scenes are dubcon or noncon, and the characters began their relationship with captivity and torture, so the trust really isn't there. If you're sensitive to stuff like this, you may want to steer clear - but if you like these tropes, there is plenty of it, it's well done, and there are fun things like toys added to the mix.

I did take off a bit on the rating because the story mentions some BDSM topics without really explaining them properly, and I'm not sure that's intentional. While the "chosen" situation is intended to be D/s, there isn't the right dynamic there for it to be proper D/s - in this case, Scarlett is literally forced into obeying, and she doesn't consensually give over control. Safewords aren't part of the equation, and Greyson doesn't yet act like a Master anyone would want to obey. Although it becomes clear what the consequences are when the dominant partner is unhinged, it still makes me uneasy to refer to it as a D/s dynamic when it's....not, at least not yet. And the term "subdrop" is used a few times, when it's probably not quite accurate - Scarlett doesn't feel submissive or want to obey, so what she's feeling is probably more PTSD than subdrop at this point. Hopefully this is made clearer in the second part of the series.

Overall I enjoyed it, but how much will hinge slightly on the second book and how the characters' chemistry and dynamics are resolved. Still definitely worth a read!

Thanks to the ARC team for an advance copy of this book!

Plot: 2.5/5 - Spice: ———-> I kept hoping this was going to get better, but it finished before we got to that point. Honestly the only thing worth the star rating was the ending. I’m hoping she actually escaped the compound after dosing Grey, but who knows, she could be back in the prison.

This book has kidnapping, revenge, murder, r@pe, virgin FMC. It was not for me, and I will not be continuing. I hope she really did get revenge in the end, because no one should suffer like she did.

⚠️ Warning!!! This book has pitch-black themes - Please check TW/CW!!! ⚠️

Greyson, third in command of a criminal organization called The Nighthawks, had a twin, Sam, who was tortured and killed by Luther Sharpe, the leader of their rivals, The Widowers. To get revenge, Greyson kidnaps Scarlett, Luther's daughter.

I felt so bad for Scarlett; she tried to explain that her father is a horrible person, and that she didn't send his twin (Sam) to her father, but they didn't believe her. When they thought she was the enemy and helped in the death of his brother, they tortured and almost killed her until they called her father (to show him they had his daughter) and found out that she was telling the truth. Feeling bad about what they had done they quickly helped her with all her wounds. Although I understood why they would hurt those who killed Sam, I was so mad at them for hurting her.

I'm not really sure how to rate this. A lot of full-on non-con that was uncomfortable, she had no choice and was forced into being Grayson's "toy". He was obsessed with her and wouldn't let anyone else have her. Cain, second in command, forced him to keep her and train her and if he didn't then Cain would have. So in a backwards way he was trying to protect her.

The relationship was very complicated, he was cruel was minute and then he would get perspective and try to do things differently. He wanted to show her that she could enjoy being with him and that it could be good and pleasurable. Scarlett was a strong character and did what she had to so she could survive. She had a horrible upbringing and now she's trapped in a new nightmare. But she's not willing to give up just yet.

I'm very curious to see where the next book leads us!

I'M IN LOVE! THIS WAS FUCKING DARK AND YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
TRIGGER WARNINGS : NON-CON/DUB-CON, ABUSE, TORTURE, MENTAL HEALTH

This review is based on this entire duet : Savage Captor + Ruthless Keeper.

If you're not into questionable dark romances that blurs the line of black/white, right or wrong and what's normalized in society, then STEP AWAY NOW. I'm fully aware that this is fiction and read this with an open mind. A psychologist will have A FIELD DAY with this duet. It's interesting mostly because I was extremely curious how a victim could fall in love with her abuser; mildly put.

This isn't romance in the classical sense. It's a power play, it's dark obsession that turns into a twisted version of love, and it's a manipulative high that you can't imagine IRL. I honestly believe no woman would want or deserve to be in Scarlett's shoes. It would be...HORRIFYING.

SCARLETT is a strong and brave young woman, a heroine never better written. There were moments where I wished she would soften up to GREYSON as crazy as it sounds because I could tell the man was honestly trying his hardest to win her trust and affection, to right the wrongs that he had done against her. Abused and traumatized since childhood by a monstrous father, Scarlett managed to escape that life with the help of her brother, only to fall into Greyson's arms because someone accused her of a crime she never committed.

The first book focuses on Scarlett's captivity/trauma. I've read plenty of dark romances, and her reactions were aptly written from someone in her awful situation. No woman would ever want to be in close proximity with her captor, let alone allow him touch her. You know SEX would be an integral part of the power play, but at least it wasn't written in the ICK sense. Plenty of dark romances focuses on manipulative sex, but not so much here. Believe it or not, the MMC had a strong moral awareness when it came to treating his woman right, even if under duress. He tries, that's all I can say.

GREYSON started off unhinged and cruel, but the man was severely attracted to Scarlett even while believing she was the reason his twin was killed. A grieving, angry soul, he did unimaginable harm to her before realizing that he was tricked. Greyson wallowed in an ocean of guilt, and he quickly became obsessed, using Scarlett as a coping mechanism to replace the emptiness of his brother's death. You could see his dependency on her, how unhealthy their relationship was. At least it will start off that way.

It wasn't entirely his fault. Greyson was manipulated by CAIN, the leader of Nighthawke (later) and ends up being a pawn as much as Scarlett. There's a whole sub-culture of BDSM going on, Greyson having to "train" Scarlett to be absolutely loyal or submissive to him. Good luck, because he's going to need it.

The characters were complex, and I was over the moon by it's unpredictability. Insta-love is reserved for lazy authors.

OVERALL you must be wondering how I could enjoy this romanticized version of abduction, captivity, non-con sex? Like I said, this book isn't for everyone, and some will label it as trash, morally corrupting and disgusting. Personally, I was curious about the psychological effects taking place within the line of the story, the relationship between captor-captive, how it evolves from there, and how anything close to "love" could even be born from it. Not everything is black and white, and perspective from where you're standing speak volumes about whether it's right or wrong.

I LOOK FORWARD TO MAX's story and yes, undoubtedly, the VILLAIN of the story, CAIN's own fucked up story.

Devoured Book 1 and moved straight away to Book 2

This is the first book I have read by Lilith Vale and, oh boy, what an impact it had. This book was well written and while it brought up a lot of feelings, it was well within the scope and storyline of the book. The rest of my review will focus on my feelings and is not a reflection of the storyline or writing by the author.

For me, there were several components to this book. The first was the torture and treatment of Scarlett from the time she was kidnapped and thrown into the cell. The second was the realisation by Greyson that Scarlett was innocent and that he and Cain had been torturing an innocent woman. The third was Greyson's decision to take Scarlett as his Chosen. The fourth was Greyson's treatment of Scarlett in his "training" of her and, last of all, Scarlett's planning of her escape.

The torture and treatment of Scarlett from the start was so well done by the author. It sucked me in straight away and kept me intrigued to see how far they would go. Word to the wise, they went pretty far. Scarlett's inner strength was so well written and really made her a character I was rooting for.

When Greyson realises he has been torturing an innocent woman, his reaction made him likeable; his guilt was immediate. When Greyson decides to take Scarlett as his Chosen, it seemed the natural path given his obsession that was starting to overtake him.

Now comes the tricky part. Greyson's treatment of Scarlett during her "training" was something that I did not like. Once again, this is my perception of what was happening and not a criticism of the book. I felt like Greyson never approached the training from a mutual perspective. It was like the only way to "train" Scarlett was through domination, using her body against her. I understood what he was trying to accomplish and realise it was part of the storyline, but wanted him to connect with Scarlett rather than override her as a person. I wanted the training to start out emotionally removed but really wanted that emotional connection to happen. I will freely admit, I started to doubt that Greyson felt anything for Scarlett apart from him having something he could manipulate to his own desires, irrelevant of Scarlett's thoughts and feelings.

Lastly, I rejoice in Scarlett's planning and execution of her escape. By this time in the book, I felt like Greyson deserved it.

To wrap this all up, I enjoyed the first book in the duet for Greyson and Scarlett's story and moved straight away to Book 2. I didn't even stop to do my review until after I finished Book 3 in the series (Max's story). The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars to this book was that I actively disliked the treatment of Scarlett by Greyson during the "training". I think a little emotional connection developing would have made this a 5 star read for me.

I encourage any reader that likes dark, dark romance to give this series a go. I will say, I didn't feel like there was much romance in this first book but will admit that Book 2 does redeem it.

Off I go to leave my reivew for Book 2.

When the author listed the triggers in the beginning I had my serious doubts about how “evil” the mmc would actually be. I’ve read SOOO many dark romances where they say the mmc is unredeemable and cold and cruel to the mfc, but they never really live up to it. Maybe some people would consider it mean and abusive, but until this book I’ve never really come across a mmc that took the abuse and torture to this level. Grey was a hot mess in the beginning and not even close to a good guy. He was the worst of worst. The things he did to Scarlett were the real definition of extreme torture. First he tased her 3 times to the point of almost k!lling her, then he stabbed her in the thigh and then took joy when he twisted the knife, he waterboarded her several times, used the knife wound site to cause future pain when she couldn’t give him the answers he wanted and threatened to prolong her death and not make it quick. And on top of everything he did, Cain tortured her too by ripping off the nails on her fingers and toes and broke her ribs. Scarlett was put through hell and then got sick from the waterboarding and had her stab wound get infected.
But what I found so hypocritical of him was how against r@pe he was because he didn’t think it was right to force himself on a woman, yet the lengths he went to when torturing Scarlett were possibly just as awful. And in the end she was forced to have s3x with him when Cain forced Grey to either f*** her while he watched or he’d do it himself. Cain really does fit the phrase “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” I had bad feelings about him from the start and I think he knows exactly who Scarlett is and that Eric is her brother. As much as I hate that man, I am intrigued to read his story and see how he acts with his “chosen” and see if he tortures her the way he did with Scarlett.
Grey did eventually find out that Scarlett was in fact telling him the truth the entire time and even though he swore to her he’d never hurt her again and tried to grovel, it was a shitty job and I honestly don’t know how they could ever get over what he did to her. Because he eventually went from using her a torture doll to a s3x doll for his enjoyment. She went from his actual prisoner to his “sub” and a possession or object. And by the time he realized he loved her at the end, well let’s just say that Scarlett being the real warrior and perfect definition of a strong and fierce woman, well she found her way out- at least tried to. I don’t think she really escaped. I think I’ll find out in book 2 that she went from Grey’s prisoner to now Cain’s - which is 100x worse.

This is not a novel for the weak. Vale tells you from the start that the characters are not good people. They provide a lovely and thorough trigger warning/ disclaimer at the beginning of the book. If dark, twisted, violent “romance” isn’t something you’re interested in, this isn’t for you.

If you ARE a dark soul who loves it, you’ll love the trio of assassins in this novel! Grayson is spiraling after the death of his twin, and it may or may not be a catalyst of him doing some dark things. He is good at his job, and is third in command of an assassins group. He gets his hands on a spicy little red head who has some dark and dangerous connections.

Cain is second in command of an assassins group and is a sociopath who doesn’t like the way his boss is running their company. He’s calm, cool, collected, meticulous (scarily so), and has not a lick of emotion behind his eyes. His presence is professional and commanding and in a pinch you want him to have your six.

Max is a wild card. He’s witty, thoughtful, intelligent (emotionally and academically) and is a bad ass sniper in the assassins group. He uses his brain power to assist our male lead Greyson down the path he wants to go down, and remains hilarious throughout the novel.

If you’re into forced orgasms, mental manipulation, torture, brat breaking, and dom/sub relationships this may be up your alley. If you want some hot sex scenes, a storyline to keep you interested, and chuckles at the whit and drama of the characters you’re in the right place. If you like a story with crime bosses, betrayal, child abuse and more, you are in good company.

Get yourself a cozy chair and some wine and get ready to lose a few hours to this debut novel!!

Join the cult and be as obsessed with Grayson, Max and Cain as I am! I’m hoping we can get a Cain and Max story soon, I’d love to see what the trio of evil manage to do with their new found power.

I thought this book was fantastic, but please check the trigger warnings—it’s extremely dark, opening with the prolonged torture of a 21-year-old woman that spans several weeks.
Scarlett Sharpe is an incredibly resilient heroine. Raised under the ruthless control of her mob-boss father, Luther, she’s spent her entire life being beaten and manipulated. Just when she finally escapes his grip, she’s captured by Greyson Blackwell, the 28-year-old, third-in-command of the Nighthawks. He's part of the oldest assassin organisation in America and believes Scarlett helped lure his twin, Sam, to his death, and his interrogation is merciless, in fact leaving her with pneumonia and a bad stab wound to her thigh.
But when a shocking truth comes to light, everything shifts. Grayson’s cruelty stops, and he becomes the one to help her heal—even as he finds himself falling for her far faster than he ever intended. Scarlett, the fiery redhead that she is, resists him at every turn. When the Nighthawks reinstate a 300-year-old tradition, Grayson becomes her owner, protector, and trainer, charged with ultimately claiming her.
This story is filled with morally black characters, a traumatised yet fierce FMC and a possessive, touch-her-and-die MMC whom Scarlett pointedly calls “Monster.” It’s fast-paced, intense, and undeniably gripping.
Read this only if you’re comfortable with violence, torture to a woman, dominant men, and very dark themes.

Thank you to Lilith Vale for trusting me to be an ARC reader on this book!

4.75/5 ⭐️

Savage Captor is an incredible read. Lilith creates such interesting and dark characters that no matter how disturbing the scene may get, you find yourself a little turned on and wanting to keep reading.

She makes it extremely clear that none of her characters are good people, and that they're extremely complex. Some have obsessions, unhealthy attachment styles, trauma, and some are straight up psycopaths (I'm looking at you, Cain)

The way Grey copes after the loss of his brother is very unhealthy which nearly kills himself and others. Scarlett just wants to run from a past that has haunted her her entire life yet somehow has caught up to her. Its such an unlikely pairing that you would assume it would never work in the beginning, especially with the circumstances the pair finds themselves in. However as you dive deeper into the book, you can begin to see why this pairing could work.

Contains:
- Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
- Slightly unhinged obsessive MMC
- A guy named Cain that you question everything
- Waterboarding

This book is not for the faint of heart, but is definitely a wild and wonderful read.

OMG! This book was AMAZING! The story line of Greyson and Scarlett is out of this world. Who doesn’t love a seriously dark romance that starts with kidnapping. I feel as though the way they both spiraled was what made their relationship make sense to me. Greyson loosing his brother and struggling to move on and Scarlett refusing to submit to him, while also not being able to stop her body from enjoying him. This entire relationship begins and runs on lies and pain and I was surprised how much I loved it. I had the absolute pleasure of being able to read this book early as an ARC reader. I had never heard of this author and yet I am glad I have found her. Her writing was TOP TIER! The way I found myself immersed in this book immediately. The surprised and awe I felt with the ability to still connect to the FMC even tho I’ve never experienced a life like hers. The cliffhanger we are left on had me throwing my phone. This book was amazing! I can’t express it enough. If you are looking for a captivating extremely dark romance this is absolutely the book for you. I cannot wait to see the rest of Greyson and Scarlett’s story play out.

Greysons life spiraled when his twin Sam was brutally killed, they were no saints themselves as assasins of an elite group, but when his boss tells him it was their rivals leader who k*lled him and that his daughter was used as bait, Greyson soon finds a purpose, to take and inflict pain on her. Scarlett knew the types of darkness in the world thanks to her father who she escaped from, with some help, but being captive to Grey is another level, he wants her confession he wants to know everything she does about her fathers operations, and will use any means necessary, only she can't answer those question when she doesn't know. As secrets come to light, the twisting tale takes a turn when Grey can no longer deny he wants her, and claims her as his chosen, to make her submit to him but can she ever see him as anything but a monster? Well written the story draws you in and captivate yoyr mind with well developed characters, a dark twisting story line and a cliffy ending that has you craving more!  heavy dark themes, torture, dub-con/non-con, edging, controlled o's and more!

Was intrigued by the synopsis and Lilith Vale DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Amazing plot, very well written - loved that it wasn't just your average kidnap a girl because the man instantly fell in love with her and had to have her. Greyson had a purpose of murder and revenge on his mind.

Scarlett is an extreme badass FMC. The amount of physical and emotional pain and torture (please check your triggers!!!) she endures is a testament to her resilience. Even though she starts questioning her thoughts and feelings for her captor Greyson, she never gives up her fight!!!

I also loved that Greyson still had guilt and questioned if what he was doing to Scarlett was wrong. Now, Cain is a different story! Total psychopath, no empathy. Hoping the next book has more of his story. My interest is piqued as to who he has in mind to claim as his "chosen". Cannot wait for the next installment of Deadly Devotion series.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I started off hating Greyson for how he tortured Scarlett, but then grew to love his character because he’s just a broken/hurt man in desperate need of love and affection.
Scarlett got put through so much pain and torture growing up, was able to escape only to be captured by the Nighthawks and be tortured even worse. She endures things I’d never wish on my enemies and was hard to read, but I’m so glad I pushed through.
Cain made me so mad having all the information he has and not telling Greyson, and allowing him to torture and use Scarlett. He’s the enemy in my eyes lol
Greyson made a complete 180 with his emotions and actions towards Scarlett and I fell for him hard, and the ending has me mad for him! I ended up punching my pillow and screaming so I didn’t wake up the kids 😂

Great book (even if it traumatized me) and I NEED part two!

I'm absolutely speechless at the cliffhanger, while not being completely surprised. The evolution of the characters throughout this book was great. Greyson just wanted revenge for his brother. Scarlett was innocent fallout. When the truth is revealed Greyson isn't ready to let go. Too bad Scarlett didn't agree with him.

This book wasn't solely just the evolution of Scarlett and Greyson. There were additional layers of storyline. Unanswered questions and a burning need for the sequel. At every turn, a new truth was being revealed while burying another secret. At this point, its unclear who the bad guy actually is.

Savage Captor: A Captive Enemies to Lovers Dark Romance, is book one of the Deadly Devotion series, and its dark, very dark. It has dubcon/noncon, so heed the warnings if you have to! Greyson, seeking revenge after his brother is taken from him, targets Scarlett and her father. Scarlett, is on the wrong side of Greyson’s radar. Torture and brutality start with her captivity, he wants vengeance, but maybe he’s blaming the wrong person. Vale’s writing pulls you into its grasp and doesn’t let go! I never realized till now water boarding could be in that way 🫣. At least October isn’t too far away for the next book in this series.

Savage Captor gives us a dark captor/captive story featuring Greyson and Scarlett. Greyson believes that Scarlett is responsible for his brother's death and unleashes brutal torment on her but soon comes to realize she is an innocent pawn. This leads to him having to claim her, much to her dismay. I really liked how strong of a FMC Scarlett was and how she fought Greyson every step of the way. I have mixed feelings on Greyson, even when he found out she was innocent he was still kind of not treating her the best. I'm excited to read the conclusion to their story and I hope we get all the answers to the questions that rose during this book!

I don’t even know where to start with this review. If you like truly dark romance with a morally black mmc and a STRONG, independent fmc, this is the book for you! Greyson and Scarlett took me on an emotional journey that was NOT what I was expecting! The beginning of their story was very dark but I grew to absolutely adore our fmc after watching everything she endured and grew from! I’ve never felt more for a morally black character but Greyson was EVERYTHING I needed him to be! Loving, supportive, dark, mysterious and oh so sexy! This one ends on a massive cliffhanger and I cannot wait for book two!

Prisoner to obsession

Deliciously addictive twisted dark captive romance with gothic vibes and a villain I would willingly be taken prisoner by. Lilith Vale successfully pulled me into this story and held my attention completely captivated by this revenge-filled plot and complex characters.
The spice is next-level hot and filthy just the way I like it.

Tropes:
Kidnapping
Captive
Revenge
Enemies-to-lovers

Savage Captor is a dark, addictive rollercoaster that blends raw passion with primal tension. From the very first chapter, the chemistry between the captor and captive is electric—equal parts danger and desire. The writing pulls no punches, plunging readers into a gritty world where boundaries blur and obsession takes center stage. While not for the faint of heart, it’s the kind of book that sparks fierce debate: is it twisted, romantic, or both? Perfect for fans who like their romance with a sharp edge and emotional chaos.

Lilith left me breathless. From start to finish, it pulls you into a world that’s as raw as it is mesmerizing. The emotional depth is staggering—every feeling hits with precision, whether it’s burning anger, aching sorrow, or intense longing. It’s the kind of story that doesn’t just ask for your attention—it grabs it and doesn’t let go. Some scenes are hard to stomach, others impossible to forget, but all of them serve a purpose. Dark, provocative, and beautifully written—this book wrecked me in the best way. Easily one of the most powerful reads I’ve picked up in a long time.

diabolical

The feels I felt while reading this book was just crazy. The mmc is very dark but it’s because he has such deep feelings. Interesting read as he tries to navigate being a “dom” for the first time or truly being responsible for another person in all aspects. For someone so hard and sure of himself most of the time, it was nice to read about that other side of learning.
The fmc is strong af and never gives up no matter what is thrown at her and oh man, so much is thrown at her.
I’m so glad I picked this up and gave it a try because it surpassed my expectations

I devoured this book. OMGs did I love this. This book starts off pretty dark..Greyson the MMC is pretty much out of his mind with grief and takes it out on the FMC Scarlett. The characters go through so turmoil..and it's so well written your right there in it. It's a slow burn but so worth it. You get left dangling with that cliffhanger and it just leaves you needing that second book. Personally I can't wait to dive back in.

I skimmed the last 40%.

The abuse and non-con the FMC endures from the MMC—after nearly being tortured to death by him—is just too much. It all relies on a century-old trope of "ownership" and captivity, poorly masked as a twisted marriage.

The worst part is that the author tries to insert romance by having the MMC question his actions—even though he knows exactly how wrong they are and only continues because of peer pressure. Caine is vomit-inducing, and I’m staying far away from this series.

Lilith has absolutely amazed me. This was a brutal, twisted, emotional rollercoaster. The emotions were so complex and perfectly depicted. The rage, grief, and desire all felt razor sharp. The story is immersive and so captivating. There are moments that make you flinch, moments that make you pause, and moments that haunt you after you’ve closed the book. It’s brutal and deeply twisted, but in the best way. Definitely a 5 star for me.

Love this book. It did take me a while to get into it but I am so glad I persevered. MMC is definitely unhinged and I don’t know whether to hate him or love him. The MFC is so strong but has had an awful life that seems to just keep throwing her grenades, surely she is due a HEA. This has Zara Black vibes with the story line and I am in love with her books too.can’t wait to get my hands on book two for the conclusion of this duos story!

This really is the epitome of an enemies to lovers romance! Greyson is angry, dark, brooding and genuinely ready to kill Scarlett throughout almost a third of this book. Speaking of Scarlett, her grit, intelligence, and determination are amazing. I loved the characters, how their relationship develops, the twists and turns, and the tension throughout this book. I'm not exaggerating when I say I devoured this in only a day!!
