What could possibly happen when an older woman meets a younger man? Can they forget about the age barrier and give in to temptation?
Mhairi
Watching my best friend marry her one true love makes me pause for thought… I’m not getting any younger, and what do I have to show for my thirty years on this planet?
Some would say I’ve lived my life dangerously, but I’ve really lived for the acceptance of the people around me… or in my case, the lack of, because my family is not the conventional type. I’ve been more than happy to embrace the dangers, have my fair share of one-night stands, and never sleep with the same person twice… until Brendan Loudon boisterously walks into my world and pushes my boundaries. For the first time, I can forget all that’s wrong in my life and just be me.
But Brendan and I will never work. We’re opposites in every way; I’m older than him, I’ve got a past, and I can’t see where my life is going... but can we enjoy the sex with no strings attached?
Brendan
Being the youngest of the Loudon family has come with challenges over the years. I’ve always been compared to my siblings, whether in looks or academically, and I’ve been expected to be the dutiful son and brother. I didn’t have an identity of my own, and I found rebellion more attractive… until my older brother, Max, took a chance on me and gave me a boost up the career ladder.
Now, I’m no longer Brendan The Party Animal. I became Brendan The Manager overnight; a job I love more than the late-night parties, the one-night stands, and my wild ways. I’ve now got something I can call my own. I finally feel like I’ve turned a corner… until a raven-haired beauty walks into my life and turns my head.
They say opposites attract, and Mhairi and I couldn’t be more different if we tried, but putting our differences aside, the chemistry is off the charts.
Author review - The Manager is a hot and spicy contemporary romance. Brendan and Mhairi are opposites in every way, but together the chemistry is off the charts.
If you’ve read The Maid, you will have had brief encounters with this duo before, but it is a completely standalone book.
❤️spicy ❤️opposites attract ❤️age gap ❤️romance ❤️he falls first ❤️hate at first sight ❤️one night stand ❤️sworn off relationships
The Manager by KM Lowe is the story of Brendan and Mhairi. This is a reverse age-gap story, wherein the female is the older of the two. He’s a bit of a wild one…at 21 he’s free to do anything he wants. He gets with Mhairi at his brother’s wedding reception. And the sparks fly…and fly…and fly!!! But, neither is exactly as they seem…
Enjoyed this story and the steam was off the charts! Wonderful!!
Glasgow Scotland. What could possibly happen when a older woman meets a younger man. Raving haired Mhairi Clark and party animal turns the manager Brendan Louden. Opposite attracts two very different people, can they work it with no strings attached? Well I must say this read had me flushing, filled with love and passion, this couple are hot hot hot from the word go. Filled up your heart, what a truly touching read it is. Loved it.
Having read Max and Lexi's story I knew I wanted to know more about Brendan and Mhairi. I'm not the biggest fan of age gap romances in which the female is older but this was fantastic. It worked so well and you would never have known that there is 10 years difference in age between them. Brendan came across as becoming more mature as the book went on and I am so glad it ended the way it did.
Wow after the maid where we met these characters first I sort of knew what sort of book this would be but boy is the love story of Mhairi and Brendan hot hot hot 🔥. Age gap love will it work? Also Mhairi has a lot of baggage and doesn’t really understand how the love and support of your family works. They have a lot to work out but it’s a great journey to follow as a reader. You’ve done it again Kelly yet another five star read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥
This is book 2, with The Maid being book 1 (IMHO - Both are absolutely wonderful reads). The Maid Does Not have to be read first to enjoy The Manager, but the characters do overlap so reading The Maid first will give you a much more enjoyable reading experience. That said, WOW did Ms. Lowe ever give us readers an outstanding storyline with Brendan and Mhairi’s story. Brendan’s always been the playboy, party animal of the family. But his brother made him the hospitality manager at his hotel and he seems to be thriving. So he’s going to take over managing the hotel while his brother goes on his honeymoon. At the wedding reception he runs into Mahairi, his sister-in-law's best friend. While he’s met her before, he sees her in a new light at the reception. They end up spending an unforgettable night together but in the morning, Mhairi does what she does best, she runs. These two both have a lot of past mistakes to make up for and relationships are not in the cards for either of them. But their chemistry sizzles (both for them and us readers on the pages). They soon became friends with benefits. But when Brendan gets a look into Mhairi’s real world and sees the insecurities she feels, something shifts between them. Can these two party animals let their vulnerabilities out and possibly help each other or will it totally wreck their budding friendship.
Outstanding read. I can’t recommend grabbing up both books enough. 2 Thumbs up and 5 Stars
The Manager is a spicy little read from K.M Lowe, with good characters and a fiery storyline it's a brilliant read.
Mhairi and Brendan have know each other for a little while, bantering back and forth with a hint of flirting thrown in. Neither one expected what their flirty one liners would lead to. With them both trying to prove they are more than capable of the jobs they hold, could they each help the other push those doubts away.
The Manager is from the same world as The Maid. There is no particular reading order, but I do recommend reading The Maid.
Wow, Brendan and Mhairi. What can I say? This couple have off the charts chemistry right from the start. It begins as a relationship based purely on physical gratification which will melt your kindle. But we begin to see more of the emotional and vulnerable sides to them both. I love the ending to this book too, but won't spoil it for you.
If you enjoy incredibly spicy reads, but still need a story to go with it. This is the one for you. I devoured it in one sitting!
Baby Loudon has all the right moves and he is empathetic to Mhairi's needs. It's sexy, it's hot, it's steamy and it's romantic as all get out. Emotional? Absolutely this author is well known for that, but she stretched herself out of her comfort zone to bring us readers spice and nailed it. Great characters, interesting plot with age gap. Kept my focus and I loved it.
I really enjoyed The Maid, but The Manager is even better. KM Lowe has taken the hotness up another few notches here, but that's not all it is. There is an underlying and very touching story underneath it, and while you will definitely want a date with Brendan, you'll also want Mhairi to be your best friend!
Book two is Mhairis story! I fell in love with her and Brandon aka baby Louedon. The banter was by far my favorite. I’d love to see a book three with her mom!
