Aallyah was a 28 year old candidate running for Congress for the first time against an elderly man who had the office for the last 20 years. I was so happy that her father had hired Zane Underwood from the Aegis Enforcers to protect her during her campaign. The man she had been dating, Byron, was a horrible man that she was learning was not who she thought he was. I know I didn’t like him as well as her father and most people who met him. An unsavory man was trying to use Byron to stop Aallyah from running. This caused so many suspenseful times that had me glad Zane was on the case. Zane had a backstory that broke my heart, but he was a handsome, fearsome, protector of a man. Ms. Lee has such a way of weaving a story that you don’t want to put the book down. I am loving this series and can’t wait until the next book. I strongly encourage you to read the book.

CORRALLING THE CANDIDATE begins a new adventure for the Aegis Enforcers. This is Zane’s story. He has his hands full protecting Aaliyah, not only from a wannabe fiancé and some unscrupulous politicos with criminal benefactors, but also from herself. It’s an engaging tale with a strong, take-no-prisoners alpha hero, a fiercely independent yet somewhat naïve first-time candidate, and a supporting cast of like-minded heroes and family members surrounded by a morally bankrupt character, dirty political shenanigans, and malevolent criminal behavior. All of which comes together in an exciting and interesting story that will keep you entertained from start to finish.
