That’s how long the humans selected for the Hunt must survive. On the island, the demons are set loose to hunt them down and indulge in their darkest desires with no rules to stop them.
Vhaena never thought her town would turn on her, but when she’s voted as a sacrifice for the demons’ annual tradition, she’s forced into a nightmare designed to kill her. Alone and betrayed, she’s prepared to do anything to survive. What she isn’t prepared for is him.
Daemon, her brother’s best friend and her forbidden obsession—a demon hiding among them.
Loyal to his vow to protect her but cursed by the darkness clawing at his soul, Daemon walks a blurring line between protector and predator. His vow demands her safety, but his hunger demands her ruin.
On an island meant to unleash the monsters hidden within, Vhaena and Daemon must decide which is stronger—duty or desire.
This dark romantic fantasy is perfect for fans of forbidden love, deadly survival, and the kind of devotion that burns even in the ruins of hell.
A.N. Caudle has a history in engineering with a degree in Organizational leadership (and to make her even nerdier, she went to space camp). After spending over a decade poring over architectural schematics, she was hit with the idea for a story that demanded (yes, demanded) to be told.
What was supposed to be one singular book turned into a series (did not see that coming) and much more, going far beyond anything she could have imagined.
Caudle lives in Arkansas with her husband, two sons, and a menagerie of pets.
Pre-read: As soon as I read the blurb, I was immediately drawn to this book! It has EVERYTHING I adore. I’m already getting 5-star vibes… slow burn, best friend’s brother, forbidden romance—um, excuse me??? It’s dark romantasy too, which has become my FAVORITE genre. Omg and I got the ARC… this one is getting picked up ASAP. I can’t wait!
Hear me out... a romance with a DEMON??? Yes. All of my yes.
The female main character's town votes for her as a sacrifice to the yearly demon hunt. This 7 day long hunt was established between the demons and humans long ago to keep the peace. All of the female sacrifices are rounded up and taken to an island for the demons to hunt for sport.
If they survive to the end, they keep their lives and a fresh start. Except.. nobody survives.
And the thing about demons... they look just like humans and blend into society. Your neighbor could be one and you would never know. The demons that partake in these hunts are masked and once they're on the island... all hell breaks loose.
It's every woman for herself out there in a fight to stay alive.
I freaking loved this book!
Huge thank you to the author for spoiling me with an early copy <3
Seeing the words, “Demon, hunting, and men wearing masks” that’s all it took me for to go absolutely feral and demand that I had to read this book, and it did not disappoint. This book was so damn delicious and addictive I read this in one sitting. I honestly could not put it down that’s how good it was. After reading the summary I knew I was a goner. There is just something about demons and hunting you that just makes sense you know? This was pretty much like hunger games, but the porno version and I was totally here for it.
There was so much more to this book than just the demon and hunting aspect to it. There were so many times that my heart absolutely broke for Vhaena. She was such a strong and bad ass FMC that I love to see and love to root for. She had so much trauma and grief surrounding her and she wouldn’t let it consume her. I could have easily read another 500 plus pages of her and Daemon’s relationship.
Even though this is a stand alone it is a part of a series with different characters, writers, and story lines. There are of dark themes in this book so definitely check your TW and wha you are comfortable with. I cannot wait to get my hands on the other books in the series and devour it the way I ate this book up.
*Thank you so much to the author, for the ARC and getting me absolutely ADDICTED to this story and your work!*
Huge thank you to A.N. Caudle and Nerdfam for the eARC!
Okay so… this one takes a minute to click. It’s dual POV, so you know who the love interests are immediately, but the real question is why aren’t they together?? And that part took a while to fully land for me. There are flashbacks sprinkled in that build the tension, which I liked, but I honestly wish we got a little more clarity earlier on.
Especially with the whole situation of the town turning on Vhaena, I really wish we had that context sooner because it would’ve made a certain character's choices hit a lot harder. The way he treats her and some of the decisions he makes just felt confusing for most of the book, like I was missing a key piece of why he was acting that way. Once the truth comes out, it all clicks, and his behavior makes way more sense, but getting there, it felt a little forced instead of intentional.
Also… Daemon?? Sir. You’re telling me someone from the Ministry knew more than you about your own brother? I had questions.
BUT. Once this book gets going, it goes. The Hunt was so fun to read. It definitely gave Hunger Games vibes, not in a political way, just the chaos and intensity of the trials themselves. The pacing during those parts was super fast and I was fully locked in. There are real stakes too, which I always appreciate. People get betrayed, people die, and it actually feels like it matters.
And it’s not all heavy, there are some really fun moments too. Vhaena and her emotional support spoon?? I love her. And her ravens, the fact that she both hates and loves them, was such a good little detail that added to her character.
The ending did feel a bit rushed for me, but since it’s a standalone and the main focus is the Hunt, I can let it slide.
Overall, I had a really fun time with this one. Not perfect, but definitely entertaining. If you like demons, trials, and a little chaos, it’s worth picking up.
Baby’s first ARC, y’all!!! And it was a DOOZY. Saucy character art, a playlist with some of my favourite musicians and a masked demon MMC? Say no more, I’m giggling and kicking my feet already.
Before I get into the nitty gritty, a big thank you to A.N. Caudle and NetGalley for letting me get my hands on this early!
If you’ve read the blurb you’ll know this set in a world where demons are hidden amongst humans and basically get to have a masked purge-type hunt every year so they can keep it in their metaphorical murdery pants the rest of the time without identifying themselves. Each town selects a woman to ‘give’ to the hunt. It’s a stereotypical trolley scenario; sacrifice a few to save the many. All good and well… until our FMC gets picked.
I loved the first chapter, then got a little put off by the second, yet proceeded to inhale the book regardless. Let me explain. We already know who the love interest is, but he wasn’t really what I expected when I got to his POV? Nor was the overall situation our MC’s were in during the first few chapters. We know that there is or at least was mutual interest, but we don’t really know what exactly is going on there? I would have loved some more context earlier on, or to maybe have kept a little more mystery in Daemon’s POV specifically, but once the hunt actually started I had a veeeery hard time putting down this book. There’s suspense, betrayal, a little comedic relief, an emotional support spoon and SO. MUCH. TENSION. Our FMC doesn’t know she knows our MMC. She still kinda hates man-him but she’s warming up to demon-him?? He wants to reveal himself but he also can’t?? And when all that tension boils over?? Delicious. No notes.
The reasons I didn’t rate this higher mostly revolve around the overall pacing and some inconsistencies and clichés within the writing. It was a weirdly slow start, a great middle, but then the ending was also very rushed? I get that it’s an interconnected standalone, but we could have done with a liiiiittle more time spent on properly rounding this up. I really liked how she built the demon society into this world and how original it felt, so I easily would have read another 1-2 books within this setting to bring it to a satisfying end. Imagine more characters entering and surviving the hunt??? As for the writing, where I really liked it overall and it was even poetic at times, I also found it a bit juvenile in certain places? The overall style is pretty mature, as are the topics, but then sometimes the dialogue would lean more young adult to borderline childish where the characters weren’t supposed to be that way. Some plottwists were very predictable (but then again, I was also pleasantly surprised with others) and I found the romance to be a bit too on the nose once they got together, but nothing too major!
It’s not perfect by any means, but I enjoyed the hells (ha!) out of it so I’ll definitely be keeping my eye on this author, and seeing if any other books in this series collab catch my attention.
Wooooow definitely going to be one of top reads of the year AND it’s a standalone!!
The Hunt is a time for demons to let themselves be free. It also involves women selected from villages to “participate”- and most don’t make it out alive. The other catch is that demons wear human forms and have to hide their identity so they could be anyone you know.
Is this a friends to lovers? I don’t even know what to consider it but I am here for it. Masked MMC, demon powers, raven besties, and trauma all included.
Will be recommending this to everyone on release day and will definitely checking out more of her books after this. Also excited for the other Immortal Hunters books!
I swear that AN Caudle knows exactly how to write a book where I’m immediately swept up and wanting to devour it! This book was the perfect mix of being dark & delicious and the perfect way to kick off the Immortal Hunters series, which is a collection of dark romantasy standalones. Check your TW if you need to before diving in, as there are some heavier topics.
There’s something about a demon romance that just hits different for me and I absolutely loved the dynamic between Vhaena & Daemon in this book. Both have secrets they have been keeping, but when Vhaena finds herself going to the hunt, there was never any chance that Daemon wouldn’t follow to keep her safe.
10/10 recommend this book if this sounds like your cup of tea and cannot wait to hear in in audio for a re-read!
What to expect: 🐦⬛dark romantasy 🐦⬛brother’s best friend 🐦⬛frenemies to lovers 🐦⬛touch her & die 🐦⬛hunt or be hunted 🐦⬛demon x human 🐦⬛masked mmc 🐦⬛slow burn 🐦⬛secret society
As always, huge thank you to AN Caudle for the early copy of this book. All reviews are my honest opinion.
Ummm why am I over here giggling over a demon??? On a religious holiday???
This was such a fast read. I didn’t even want to go to sleep last night because I needed to finish it, and I was up early this morning right back at it.
Before I get into it, just a heads up, this does have darker themes so definitely check your triggers.
Brother’s best friend is always a fun trope, and it was so good here. Daemon is extremely protective of Vhaena, going against his own morals to keep her safe, not just because of a vow but because of his feelings for her.
Vhaena was…something else 😂 She could definitely hold her own, but also had zero survival skills, and it was hilarious seeing how little she paid attention to her surroundings.
And I’m cackling over the spoon. The spoon is the real main character.
This was chaotic, fun, and way more addictive than I expected. Absolutely add this to your TBR.
Hunted by the Demon's Vow. A standalone ARC review A.N.Caudle is one author who I read anything she puts out. Her other series is my top fated mates done right book series. I know when a book is good because I have no notes about the writing, this author writing is fluid and you flow right along with the story, like a river letting it take you where ever it wants to go. The story is of a human woman named Vhaena who lives in a land where Demons live amongst them, hiding in plain sight. She is hated in the village she lives in because of false rumours that label her as a whore, he has slept with half the village men, married and not. Apparently, she has also slept her way around other villages as well. She has a twin brother who she loves dearly and a mum who has a chronic illness. They lost their dad but are very close-knit family. Vhaena loves to cook, she had her own restaurant but it closed when everyone stopped coming because of the rumours, so now she cooks in the only other restaurant in the village but in secret. Her brothers best friend, Daemon, is someone she once loved but thinks he knows who hurt her in the past and agrees with what was done to her. He doesn't understand why she no longer talks to him. After what happened to her, her twin asked Daemon to help look after her and keep her safe. Even though she never told anyone what happened, he knew she was frightened. So, Daemon made a vow to protect her.
The people of this land are scared of the demons, and for very good reason, every year, they must pick a woman from the village to be sent to participate in the Hunt. Those women never return. They are hunted, tortured, raped and slaughtered all for the Demon's pleasure. If they don't send a woman, the demons decimate that village, so they never forget and always choose someone.
This year, Vhaena's village voted for her to be chosen. Now Vhaena must fight to survive all the terrors the hunt entails, but one Demon has her in his sites, not to kill but to ruin and claim as his own.
I really enjoyed this standalone, Vhaena and her families bond makes her want to survive and fight, and with her trusty wooden spoon, she does a bang-up job of it. She has no idea that a certain Demon is the only reason she was surviving, him misleading and killing anyone who got close. It was nice that she really was just a human woman. She had no magical abilities except maybe being a dab hand with spices and herbs. The relationship between the two MCs was fraught with deception , fear, and mistrust that slowly shifted to something else. The spice was delicious and well placed. The journey for them both bought much needed release and growth came of that.
I also loved that Vhaena was a little older, I think she was around 26. The maturity showed through in her actions and dialogue.
I read this in a weekend and was thoroughly entertained.
Go and Read the authors other Series Realms of Fate....so bloody good.
I had so much fun in this dark fantasy romance where humans are hunted on an island for demon’s sport. Caudle never fails to merge dark romance, fantasy, and hope all in a beautiful creation.
In HBTDV, we follow a dual POV between our human FMC Vhaena, who has just been sacrificed by her town to be demon fodder, and our demon MMC Daemon, who is desperate to save her and deny his darkest self. Vhaena has kept Daemon at arms length for ten months and, while that has broken his heart, Daemon continues to protect her under her brother and his best friend’s request. When Vhaena faces certain death alongside a group of woman all offered up as sacrifice across the continent, she finds herself quietly protected by another demon who reminds her of someone she used to love.
HBADV was entertaining, dark, tense, suspenseful, full of yearning and spice. The secret society of the demons was intriguing and Daemon had me quickly wrapped around his finger! His complete devotion and his inner demon’s unhinged madness had me salivating for as much time with him as possible. I loved how Vhaena grew in her bravery yet maintained her morality and compassionate heart. And the romance and spice, y’all. Holy SMOKES. New book boyfriend alert! You MUST meet Daemon.
Tropes you may find in HBADV are masked MMC, brother’s best friend, second chance, slow burn to medium spice, frenemies to lovers, so much YEARNING, demon x human, “good girl”, secret society, check TW warnings!, wooden spoon as a weapon, soft FMC, hidden identity, standalone, and a HEA.
It has been such a joy to arc read for Caudle sine her indie release of Worthy of Fate. Thank you for this gifted arc and allowing me another opportunity in your worlds!
I swear AN Caudle can do no wrong when writing a unputdownable book. I could not wait to read this, and it did not disappoint one bit!
A romance with a demon, trials, hilarious banter, an animal companion, spice and some dark themes that keep you turning the pages! I simply ate this up, and left no crumbs.
Every year the demons who are hiding in plain sight with the humans get to partake in the hunt on an island. Who do they hunt? Women.. only women are chosen for this. What does hunt mean? Well, my friend you’ll have to read this to find out.
Our FMC is apart of the hunt, and our MMC which is her brother’s best friend- he happens to be on the island as well..I’ll let your imagination run wild a bit with that. 🤭
This wrapped up so nicely, 🥺 the pacing was done so well for a standalone, nothing felt rushed. Definitely a book you’ll be coming back to, to reread. 🖤😈
😈 brother’s best friend 🐦⬛ unhinged golden retriever MMC 😈 frenemies to lovers 🐦⬛ her “fvck it” moment 😈 ostracized but fierce FMC 🐦⬛ tearful epilogue 😈 “stalker-light” 🐦⬛ standalone
This was one wild ride, I don’t think my heart stopped pounding until the last 10%! We start strong with the mystery of Vhaena’s shunning by the town and what happened to her a year ago to cause her to withdraw from everyone. Daemon, her twin brother’s best friend and childhood crush feels the sting of her coldness, but helps protect her from afar at the bequest of her brother.
When the town votes for Vhaena to be the sacrifice for the demons’ week of hellish delight on a cursed island, where there are no rules and the demons, who hide themselves in society the rest of the year, get to unleash their true demonic selves, Daemon has no choice but to follow and try to protect her. What ensues is a cat and mouse game with masks, blindfolds, a dark and despairing island full of demons hellbent on one thing: inflicting the most pain possible for the week.
The women chosen rarely survive. They aren’t allowed to see the demons’ faces. They don’t stand a chance fighting back or escaping. So when Vhaena is faced with possibly trusting the masked demon protecting her, or trying to escape him and go it alone, she’ll discover more than she bargained for.
This was so fun! The world is dark here y’all, so check those triggers in advance and know what you’re getting into. The demons who participate in The Hunt do anything they like to the women, and none of it merciful or kind. R*pe, murder, torture… all of it happens here and while nothing is graphically on page, it’s detailed enough I felt wildly uncomfortable in those moments. I liked both Vhaena and Daemon, though both could have been maybe slightly better developed. They both made choices I didn’t agree with, but on the whole of it I was rooting for them both. The romance was visceral, the chemistry from these two so hot but also laced with distrust and secrets.
I think the book really shines though in the deeper themes, where it asks us who we are deep down, are our baser instincts and desires separate from us, or can we trust those parts of us just as we trust ourselves? Should we hide who we are for the greater good? Should we sacrifice a few for the safety of the many? And who makes that decision? Where do we draw the lines morally and ethically and why? Daemon was honestly a fascinating character to me, his internal struggle with his demon a key facet to his development. Vhaena’s story was heartbreaking (I guessed much of it before it was revealed) but you’re on the edge of your seat waiting for that secret to come out.
In short, this was delectable journey easily devoured in one sitting. It has heart pounding suspense and action, delicious green flag romance energy, gothic island vibes, feminine rage, dark world, and demonic spice 😏 I’ll definitely be checking out the others in this series!
Thank you to A.N. Caudle and Nerdfam for the eARC!
I will eat up any book with an angel or demon love interest, so I was READY for this one! And a standalone? EVEN BETTER!
Given that it's dual POV, it's obvious straight out the gate who the love interest is, but it doesn't even matter, because the story and journey for them to get together is SO GOOD. And despite this entire book technically being based on a miscommunication trope (WHICH I GENERALLY HATE!!!) I ate it UP.
The Hunt is basically the purge meets the wild hunt--if you're a human sacrifice and you survive to the 8th day, you live. Otherwise, well. You're not going to have a good time. I FLEW through this book and loved every single traumatizing second. Because MAN Vhaena cannot catch a break!!!
This was honestly a 5 star read for me until the last maybe 30 pages. We tried to cram WAY too much into the ending to create resolution, and it didn't really work for me. I would have much preferred a more open-ended version of the HEA than what we got. And honestly? I hated the epilogue for a variety of reasons. Like, absolutely hated it. I don't think it was necessary, I think it was random, and I don't think anything was added to the story for it. I really would have loved to have seen this be more of a duet where book one ends where it does and book two is dealing with the consequences vs the rushed epilogue, but alas. That's not what we got.
I also wasn't a HUGE fan of the flashbacks. They were necessary for story development, but they felt so much like head hopping the way they were incorporated it annoyed me a little. That's generally a personal issue though, and I think it's mostly a "me" preference.
Overall if you want something fun, fast, and with a MMC and FMC who year and just want to take control of their lives, you'll LOVE this!
Hunted by the Demon’s Vow by A.N. Caudle is the kind of story that sinks its claws in and refuses to let go—equal parts brutal, seductive, and utterly addictive.
Imagine you’re thrown onto a savage island where survival isn’t just a goal—it’s a ticking countdown soaked in blood and temptation. The premise alone is electric, but it’s the execution that truly devours you. The Hunt feels alive, prowling just beneath your skin, and every moment pulses with tension.
Vhaena is a heroine carved from resilience and fury. She’s not just surviving—she’s adapting, sharpening, becoming something dangerous in her own right. And then there’s Daemon… a walking contradiction of devotion and destruction. He is the storm and the shelter, the vow and the betrayal. Every scene with him crackles with that delicious, unbearable tension where you know something will snap—you just don’t know when.
The romance? Dark, obsessive, and threaded with razor wire. It doesn’t bloom softly—it burns. The push and pull between duty and desire feels like standing too close to a wildfire, knowing you should step back… but choosing not to.
What really elevates this book is how it balances its brutality with emotion. Beneath the claws and chaos, there’s a raw, aching vulnerability that makes every choice hit harder. It’s not just about surviving the Hunt—it’s about surviving what the Hunt awakens inside you.
If you love: 🔥 Forbidden love that bites back 🔥 Morally gray characters who blur every line 🔥 High-stakes survival with a dark, seductive edge
…then this book will own you.
This isn’t just a story you read—it’s one you endure, crave, and maybe even surrender to.
Thank you to NetGalley and A.N. Caudle for the ARC! Okay WOW—this book was a wild ride and I devoured it in less than 24 hours.
There is a content warning at the start (which I personally skip to avoid spoilers), but if you’re sensitive to darker themes, definitely check it before going in because this story gets DARK.
The premise immediately hooked me: every year, one girl is sent to an island to be hunted by demons for seven days. If she survives, she earns her freedom… but no one ever has. The demons live among humans for most of the year, blending in perfectly, and then for one week they unleash their true nature. It’s brutal, intense, and so addictive to read.
We follow Vhaena, who is unexpectedly chosen as the sacrifice, and her journey is full of danger, tension, and dark romance goodness. This book has EVERYTHING—demons, raven companions, masked men, best friend’s brother, and top-tier “touch her and ☠️” energy.
I couldn’t put it down. If you love dark fantasy romance with high stakes, where the spice is spicy 🔥 and morally grey characters, you’ll eat this up.
“Hunted By The Demon’s Vow” is the first installment of the Immortal Hunters series. And what a start to the series this book is! I was immediately pulled into the world of Erdenvale and did not want to come up for air! The author paints such a clear picture of her characters in their descriptions and features and is devoted to their development throughout the story. I don’t tend to be a fan of flashbacks, but it was done smoothly throughout the book with appropriate timing, giving another meaning to the term “slow burn”. It gives Hunger Games vibes in the world of Dark Romantasy and I am HERE FOR IT. I love that we got POVs from the FMC and MMC equally, which assisted with the depth and development. The spice level was perfect and satisfying! The storytelling was wonderful and I was not left with questions, as it was all tied together beautifully. Being able to visualize a book is truly important to me as a reader and this author gave me a new world to explore and enjoy!
I recommend this story to anyone wanting to dip their toes into the world of Dark Romantasy. And for those who are already invested, take a swim in the Leuch River. You won’t regret it!
Thank you to the author for the eARC! I. Loved. This. Story. Her brother’s best friend is a demon and he has sworn to protect her. We learn just what lengths he will go to in order to keep his vow.
A.N. Caudle created a world that I couldn’t step away from. I became very invested in Vhaena’s story. Betrayed by her town for false rumors, Vhaena is voted to be sacrificed for the demon’s annual Hunt.
Despite her struggles, Vhaena continues to show kindness for those around her, especially to the other women in The Hunt. I loved how true she was to her values and her strength to survive the week.
Daemon had an absolute chokehold on me. He was truly a “touch her and die” MMC! I loved learned more about him and the demons.
The spice was excellent but overall, I loved the action. It was kind of like Hunger Games in the way they fought for survival. There were also very funny moments! Poor Vhaena and her wooden spoon!
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the arc!
If someone would have told me I’d be reading about an emotional support spoon and enjoying it, I would have never believed them yet here we are. I enjoyed the spoon and the story.
This is a standalone for people who enjoy demons especially if they’re masked aka me. For being just a relatively short quick read it has amazing pacing and it felt like it delivered more than what 400ish pages should be able to.
The plot was relatively simple - she gets betrayed by the town and tossed into a suicidal demon hunt, he goes in to save her. It’s a simple concept really but it always hits because it’s simply so romantic.
Hunted by the demons vow is perfect for when you don’t want to commit to a new series but still want to read romantasy, great for pulling you our of reading slumps with its fast pacing and lovable characters or just great if you like masked demons chasing you through the woods. I’m not judging!
Thank you to the author for an advanced reader copy! WHEWWWW what a read! I finished this in 4 hours, I physically could not put it down.
I got hunger games vibes - simply from the reaping aspect and the island filled with demons who hunt and kill women in an annual event known as The Hunt- which is exactly what it sounds like.
The FMC is a spoon wielding baddie, with a mysterious masked demon who happens to be obsessed with her, and upholding his vow to her brother. Now, this book does have DARK aspects to it, with some heavy topics mentioned and integral to the story, so please take care of your mental health besties.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I will absolutely be reading more of her work. We have demons, a raven for a bestie, an archaic culling event and a feminist baddie for a MMC, who will kill anyone who dares lay a finger on what is his, and openly opposes the Hunt.
Thank you to A.N. Caudle for providing an eARC copy of Hunted by the Demon’s Vow for an honest review.
Hunted by the Demon’s Vow was as delicious as it was intense. The story features a brutal trial where the FMC is literally hunted by demons and forced to survive. The MMC, who despises the twisted Ministry system behind the yearly “Hunt”, enters without hesitation to protect her.. his childhood friend and the one he’s secretly longed for all these years.
For seven days, the chosen women are forced to survive, pushing them to their limits. Definitely check your trigger warnings because once these demons are unleashed, there’s every kind of debauchery imaginable.
The FMC, armed with nothing but a damn soup spoon, transforms into an absolute badass survivalist. Meanwhile, the MMC grows fully into his power while actively working to burn the system down to the ground.
And the vow between them? It’s everything. The tension, the yearning, the slow surrender.. it all builds into something so satisfying. And the spice? Honestly, some of the best written spice I’ve ever read.
This book is a standalone, but with more coming in the series.. and I cannot wait for what’s next!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was everything I hoped it would be! Intriguing, gripping, dark, quiet bloody but also full of emotion with a really satisfying ending. I honestly couldn’t put it down.
I loved both Vhaena and Daemon. Even though Vhaena isn’t trained to survive the Hunt in any way she still comes across as such a strong and resilient character. And Daemon… his struggle with his inner demon and his journey toward accepting who he is was so compelling to read. I really enjoyed getting both of their perspectives. The dual POV worked so well and added a lot of depth to their characters.
A super satisfying standalone that made me want to read more from the Immortal Hunters Collection.
I first saw this book on Instagram and was immediately intrigued, so I knew I had to apply for an ARC. Huge thank you to the author and NetGalley for providing me with a copy!
I loved it. I loved Vhaene. I also loved her relationship with Daemon. I loved how he protected her. I loved the ending. I loved the writing. I loved the world. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I thought that the pace was great. I loved how the story wraps up. A perfect ending. I loved the battle. I also loved the steamy scenes. I think readers will like this if they like dark romance novels or dark Romantasy books. I think that readers from Melissa K Roehrich will loved these books. It gives off the same darkest to the romance and the same fantastical vibes. Overall, a great book. I want to thank the author for giving me read the opportunity to read the earc.
Thank you A.N. Caudle and NetGalley for this ARC - this is my honest and sincere review.✨
It was so hard to put this down once I started reading! This was everything I was needing right now in a standalone package.🙌
The world building was strong enough for a standalone and the premise in general was intriguing. The plot kept me engaged through every page and it allowed me to be invested in the charachters. This tugged at my heartstrings in all the ways possible and I almost want to re-read it again right after finishing.
OMG A.N Caudle knows how to grip you in this book. young girl who's gone through so much loss, to then be voted by the town to be slaughtered at the demon island as the towns sacrifice.
a story where she loves boy he loves her, but wont destroy her life. hes her hero and demon in one.
I literally could not put this book down, fantastic Romantasy, stand alone book.
this is a must read for your 2026 book list. got to find my self a Daemon........
Thank you to the author for letting me ARC read. I enjoyed this book so much. I literally did not want to go to sleep because I wanted to keep reading. I loved the FMC and her storyline. I 100% will be reading more from this author.
Absolutely Blessed to be able to read an ARC of this book. I loved it! The sexual tension, the yearning, and the relationships in this. Some of the inner monologue had me literally LOL’ing. I enjoyed this read. There’s a good amount of yearning in this before it gets spicy. But it was SPICY! And the world building was well done. I absolutely devoured it once I received it.
