ANGEL

People said I'd never hit the ice again after my humiliating fall on national television. Now, after two years, I'm ready to prove them wrong. At least in private . . . when I sneak into the Buffalo Blades arena-Dad won't mind. Being the coach's daughter has its perks.

Until the lead defenseman, Jace Knight, catches me here. Of all people, it had to be the one who hates me. And he's having a ball throwing his crude comments and ice shavings in my direction.

To my surprise, he doesn't laugh when I fall. Instead, he offers to help me get my groove back. But there's a catch-a quid pro quo.

He needs my help too. To win over one of the Ice Girls he's been pining after. He won't tell me which-but I think I know. And I hate that she's perfect for him.

JACE

There's no way I'm telling Angel Collins-Coach's daughter and the only Ice Girl immune to my charm-the real reason I'm back on the ice every night. But helping her just might be the perfect cover I need to mend myself from a recent injury.

But she'll never buy that I'm doing this out of the goodness of my heart. Pretending I need love advice works just fine for me. And the irritated expression on her face every time I'm around the Ice Girls-well that's just icing on the cake.

I already liked the first book of this series (Nick and Cora), but this book is even better. I like the "hate" between Jace and Angle. Yes, I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers 😁
After her accident on the ice, Angel is depressed. She now lives with his father and her 5-year-old sister again. Her parents are divorced and her dad needed help with Rory. After two years she now wants to try to skate again. That's why she sneaks into the ice rink. Not knowing that Jace does the same thing because his old shoulder injury is back. Nobody must know about it, because he would lose his contract and would be out of the NHL.
Even though Angel and Jace think they hate each other, he wants to help her and in return, she wants to help him to get the girl he secretly likes. Angel thinks it's one of her old cheerleader friends.
I really hate her old friends. They just aren't friends and they never were. Her real friends are Nicole and Cora.
The sexual tension between Angel and Jace is 🔥 And something Angel didn't know is, that Jace secretly admired her since the day he saw her for the first time. OMG, how cute is that, please? I love these things so much.
I would love to tell you so much more, but I won't spoil so you have to read this book!!

This is now the third book I've read by Roxanne and I can say I really like her books.

Book three of this series will be published on January 30th, 2024. And I'm excited to read it. It's an age gap 🤩

“You are beautiful. Whatever scars you think you have are merely impressions of the warrior I’ve always known you to be.”

This was a good read. I enjoyed the tension between Jace and Angel. Also how these two ended up helping each other with injuries and scars. Pushing aside the differences with great banter. I will say I struggled with the MMC who was walked over by the FMC and forced him on a date with someone he was not interested in as he was hiding his true feelings towards the FMC. I just thought he would be more confident in saying no. Overall I still think it’s a good read.

I loved this! This is another great addition to this series! I wasn't too sure about Jace and Angel but boy, once I started reading their book, I could not put it down! Their romance swept me away.

Jace and Angel have a strong dislike for each other ever since Jace came to play on her dad's hockey team. This "hate" eventually turns into love and it was so good! I loved Angel and Jace's banter and interactions. Even though they "hate" each other, Jace wants to help Angel get back on the ice and be confident again with her ice skating. The angst and sexual tension was off the charts! I loved every minute of it!

I just really enjoyed reading their book. They have such a great group of family and teammates that were supportive and it was great to read a little about them as well.

Now, bring on Coach. ;)

This series is getting better and better!

Jace and Angel’s book is just fabulous ❤️ contains all the angst and perfect hate banter. Just loved every interaction between these two, how protective Jace became.

I love the supportive family and team mates. And loved getting snippets of them, and love the little angsty bits for future couple ❤️

Another addictive read that hooked me straight away x

Slightly better than average read by Roxanne...
Hero was a manwhore and personally no wonder heroine's dad (his coach) was treating him like sh*t, as some reviews complain. Being this my daughter I'd have this jerk by the balls 💀

Hatefully Yours was alright, but it definitely could’ve benefited from some refinement. The relationship development was decent, and the light enemies-to-lovers element worked well overall, even though most of the “enemies” phase seemingly happened off the page.
That said, the characters’ inner thoughts and the dialogue often felt choppy and hard to follow. I found myself spending more time untangling what was being said and why characters were reacting so abruptly than actually investing in the story. It just didn’t feel natural, and at times didn’t even make sense. For example, Angel suddenly being so at odds with her dad to the point of feeling like she didn’t even have a father (heartbroken he didn’t know her recent favorite pancake toppings…), when it had been established earlier that they were always super close. Or her best friend not speaking to her for days over a little/white lie when the friend admittedly “loves to lie”… there were just so many over the top reactions to things that it felt excessive.
Overall, the ideas and emotions just needed more attention to detail to really pull everything together and give it that addictive factor this one was lacking.

I only discovered Roxanne a couple months ago but she is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors!

This is book 2 in the Blades of Heart series but it can definitely be read as a standalone, I haven't read book 1 yet but I'm definitely going to!

Angel and Jace have hated each other from the moment they met years ago but you know what they say; there's a fine line between live and hate.

I loved the progression of their relationship and how Jace always knew what Angel needed, tough love; Especially when it did seem like a lot of people in Angels life didn't want what was best for her but rather what's best for them!

I did feel like it was a quick switch from hating each other to being madly in love, I would have liked a little bit more of the enemy energy but other than that I couldn't fault it, its such a good book!

I'm hoping there will be another for Coach, maybe and age gap, forbidden romance?

Hatefully Yours by Roxanne Tully is book two in the Blades of Hearts Series. This is the first book I’m reading by this author. It's an Enemies to Lovers Hockey Romance. It can be read as a standalone as I didn’t read the first book… I didn’t feel like I was lost or missed anything. But with that being said I’m planning on reading the first book as I really enjoyed this one. The worldbuilding and storytelling was great, it was easy to follow along and imagine what I was reading. The plot and pace kept me interested all the way to the end, I don’t think I put my kindle down. The characters were fascinating and realistic to me. I loved Angel and Jace’s dynamic and the sass that was between them. I really enjoyed the transition from “hate” to love, it was well done. I was a fan of this book and the author’s writing.

I loved it. I liked becoming Mine better. This one was good. I felt like Becoming Mine pulled me in more. The characters were great in this story. Love me a good hockey romance. This is Jace and Angel’s story. This is a standalone story. The characters are from the first book Becoming Mine. Jace is Cora’s brother from book one. Angel is Cora’s best friend and his Jace’s coach’s daughter. Jace and Angel start out hating each other. Then one night they meet on the ice. Jace wants to help Angel get back in to skating. He wants to get extra time on the ice. His shoulder injury is bothering him. While they help each other out Jace starts to fall for Angel. He trusts her not to say anything about his shoulder and she trusts him not to tell she’s trying to skate again. Things are going great until the trust is broken. Will they fix their relationship or will they just leave it broken? Read the book to find out.

I loved Angel and Jace in book 1, and I was so excited to read their story! The angst, the tension, the banter - I soaked it up! Angel is depressed and afraid to take the ice after a bad fall, but she wants to lace up her skates and try. Jace is feeling pain again from an injury to his shoulder, but he's hiding it from his team. They hate one another but make a deal to help one another out. Jace will help Angel get back on the ice if Angel helps Jace rehab his shoulder.

What could possibly happen between two enemies spending so much time together? 🥰✨️

This is the second book in the Blades of Heart series, following Jace and Angel. I really thought book 2 was going to be Coach Collins and Nicole, but I can wait 😁 Anyways back to the real couple of this story - Jace and Angel. Their whole “enemies” to lovers vibe was everything, their banter and constant back and forth was fun to read. It was also nice to see them vulnerable with each other. Both dealing with injuries from their pasts, they helped each other heal in more ways than one. And it wouldn’t be a Roxanne book if there wasn’t any angst and while it wasn’t as angsty as Becoming Mine, it still had me clutching my heart, fearing what was going to happen to Jace and Angel. Overall another great book by a great author and cannot wait for the next one! 😁

I was hooked on this! The plot was fantastic and the pace of the book was spot on!! Not too slow but didn’t go so fast you couldn’t keep track of what was going on!

Enemies to lovers is one of my fave tropes and this encapsulated it perfectly! The humour and spice was a perfect mix!

This enemies to lovers, hockey romance book is a good read! It’s easy to read and you can read it quickly. You can feel the animosity that Jace and Angel originally have for each other. But Jace begins supporting Angel, and I absolutely loved how much he supported her and the things that he did to support her. I do wish that there was just a bit more pull between the two characters, but this really is a sweet read. There’s also spice within the book – I’d put it on a level 3-3.5. If you’re looking for an easy to read romance book, this is the one for you!

Angel and Jace Story
We get enemies to lovers, drama, humor, angst and steam.
I loved the banter between Angel and Jace. Seeing the growth in them as individuals and between them seemed real and genuine. I felt like they were just what the other needed.
I liked both main characters, Jace was probably my favorite though. He had such a fun and likeable personality.
Overall, great read!

This was my first time reading one of Roxanne’s books and it won’t be my last! Although this is an interconnected book but can be read as a standalone, I felt like I was missing out on Cora and Nick so I’ll definitely be jumping back to their book! Angel and Jace are incredible! Loved their tension drenched in desire! Great read!

Hockey romance with a twist. You don't find many books with figure skating in them, so when I came to that part in the book I was hooked!! I did a little figure skating when I was younger and have loved it ever since. Jade and Angel are perfect together, hockey player and figure skater. I can't wait to read the next book!!

This is the 2nd book in the Blades of Heart series. Hatefully yours is about the Buffalo Blades’ star player, Jace, and the daughter of his coach, Angel. So yeah, it’s a forbidden hockey romance. Oh and enemies to lovers. Need I say more? The storyline, characters and banter did not disappoint! I am looking forward to the next book about Coach and Nicole.

Roxanne Tully is my go to author or weekend reads, because nothing is better than a relaxing love story to unwind after a busy week in real life.
This book is the second on the series, but it can be read as a standalone, however I highly recommend the first book also so you can fall in love with this amazing world, full of relatable characters and romance.
Jace and Angel's story is absolutely adorable, the very unconventional banter in their relationship was everything, he is a strong alpha male and she is a sassy but sweet leading lady. Their love story is sweet and it ends in a HEA.
With this said, and because I want to know everything about the characters in this world, I can't wait for Coach's story!!!!!!!!!!

I KNEW THE CHARACTERS SOUNDED FAMILIAR!!! Lol
I felt like I knew who the characters were and something was said by one of the characters and it just clicked. For some reason, it's not linked as a series on here but there are definitely 3 books that go together and this is the second of those books. I feel like you would need to read Nick and Cora's story to get an understanding of Angel and Jace's story in this book because although book 1 is not about them, they are side characters in that book and their backstory kinda starts there. You would need to read it understand their character development because this book was mild compared to book 1 when it came to Jace and Angel lol

But speaking of books - book 3 will be coach and Angel bet. <3 I am excited for that one :)

I am never satisfied when they forgive the MMC so easily.
Book 1 almost satisfied me when it came to the forgiveness - Cora left Nick for like a week with no one but Nicole knowing where she was. But Angel might have taken a night to think over Jace's apology, but her mind was made up before she even walked back inside.
But after everything he said to her and how he hurt her, it takes him just showing up after weeks for her to forgive him.

I think the reason I feel that way about it is because when the eventual breakup happens, we never see how much the guy gets hurt and suffers from it. I mean we know they are hurting and miss the FMC but that's really it. But the FMC, we see all her pain ( and this is for all romance books not just this one) so when she forgives the MMC it makes me mad because I feel he needs to suffer a bit before he is forgiven. lmao

But I definitely enjoyed their story. After the first book when we initially met them, I thought for sure them coming together would be explosive with how they were with each other... but it wasn't that explosive. It seemed to have happened over time. I expected them to be fighting and arguing like normal and then BOOM! sexual tension so thick they act on it - they have a hate fuck relationship til it becomes more. But no, Jace turned out to be a sweetie and Angel was vulnerable enough to let him in.

Spice 1/5
Humor 1/5
Emotional 1/5
World Building 4/5
Overall 4/5

I adored reading this hockeymance!

so this genre is a hit and miss for me and it all comes down to the chemistry between the characters and the plot and this standalone had both of those things down pact to a T.

the story begins with angel, who is a fallen Ice queen after a horrible accident befell her two years ago before the story began, now healed she tries to get back on her skates again but finds herself scared to jump or even attempt to make a move on the ice, fearful that she will once again fall. enter jace knight, champion hockey player, also a player and lead defenceman for the Buffalo blades who one night catches her practicing after their local hockey rink closes for the night after her father who is his coach and the team leaves, at first he watches as she falls and gets back up but against his own will he finds himself walking towards her rather than away.

Angel Collins is no amateur skater. she's been the reigning ice queen for years, champion skater for many more but when she falls from her throne in the form of a devastating accident two years before the story she now finds herself unsure, insecure and frightened to even attempt to skate or make a jump, on one fateful night after her father and his hockey team leave their local rink she finds herself reaching for her old pair of skates that were always kept in her fathers office, after many attempts at skating and falling she's just about to quit when something unexpected happens. and that is jace knight, her enemy and fathers lead defenceman coming onto the ice and offering her a deal, help him land a girl that he likes and in exchange he'll help her train and get back on her skates. to her this is an easy deal, she gets him the girl and he gets her, her life as a skater back but how can they when he too has a large secret of his own? when the truth comes out and the deal becomes shaky they both find themselves in uncharted water as they grapple with their secrets, fears and their relationship with eachother but what will win in the end their fears or their growing love for one another?

find out in this amazing standalone today!

4.5 out of 5 stars

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the second book of the of the Blades of Hearts Series and can be read as as a standalone. You won't be lost if you haven't read Becoming Mine but I recommend reading it too if you want to know about Jace's sister & Angel's friend. They book's blurb lets you know what to expect. It's a good enemies to lovers first person dual pov sports romance.

While Angel has her fears about skating again like she used to before her accident, she can't help but still feel a pull to the ice. She practices on her own but can't quiet the doubts until she starts getting helping from Jace. From the moment they met, they've been enemies. Angel is serious while Jace has a more easygoing & flirty attitude. However, just like Angel, Jace is also recovering from an injury and thinks that helping Angel get her confidence back on the ice will allow him more room to practice without letting anyone else about as injury. As they spend time together, Angel shows a vulnerable side, with how she cares for others, and Jace shows that he can be someone to count on.

Because they were enemies, their romance is a slow burn. I liked seeing Angel slowly start to trust and rely on him while Jace enjoyed being in her company and wanted to be on her side. Although it takes them a while to accept they like each other, the attraction was always there. Their chemistry and tension is strong so readers will be satisfied. This is an open door romance. I did feel like the conflict could've been introduced a bit earlier because it did feel a bit rushed at the end. However, the end was still fine. Regarding Jace's situation, it's kind of an open ending but I think even more closure will be made in the next book. Overall, this was an enjoyable installment for the series and I can't wait for the next book.

It has been two years since Angel Collins has been on the ice.  The daughter of the Buffalo Blades' coach and former Ice Girl, she still is around the rink but hasn't been able to skate again.  She had to move in with her dad and little sister and is struggling right now.  Angel finally decides to put her skates back on one night and after everyone leaves the rink. She has a few falls and is ready to give up when she realizes that Jace Knight of all people is watching her.  Ugh, he is the absolute worst!  He is rude and arrogant and the last person Angel wants to talk to.

Jace Knight, lead defenseman for the Blades has a secret.  He also had an injury but everyone thinks he is fully recovered.  Except, he isn't and his contract is about to be up.  He has been sneaking into the rink for some extra practice when he is shocked to see the coach's daughter with her skates on.  He and Angel aren't exactly on speaking terms since she is the only one who is completely immune to his charm.  When he sees her fall he wants to help her.  She will never believe he genuinely wants to help, so he pretends to need love advice in exchange for helping her get back onto the ice.

The more they spend time together, the less they seem to hate one another.  At some point those lines start to blur.  Is Angel actually falling for Jace?  What will she do when she finds out that Jace didn't want love advice because he has been in love with her for years now?  If Coach finds out, will this affect Jace’s career and contract?

I loved this book!! Enemies to Lovers is one of my favorite tropes and this book did not disappoint!!  Angel's journey of coming back after her injury really touched me.  It is so hard to take those first steps and they way Jace helped her was *chef's kiss💋

The tension and chemistry between them was off the charts.  Their banter was absolute perfection - Angel is sassy and refuses to take any crap from Jace.  My favorite thing about Jace was his ability to give Angel tough love when she needed it, but also be very sweet and caring.  Angel was really struggling and Jace became such a great support person for her - her "friends" were absolute trash and even her dad didn't understand the help she needed.  I loved seeing Nick and Cora from book one.  Coach's story is up next!

Stand-alone: Yes***
Author: Roxanne Tully
Rating: 3.5/5 ⭐️
Spiciness Rating: 2.5/5 🌶
POV: First Person Perspective
Main Couple: Angel and Jace
Trope(s): Hockey Romance, Enemies To Lovers

“For me to show you that you’re nothing like anyone I’ve ever met. How exceptional you are to me. How you’ve broken down every one of my walls. And no one will ever compare to how much I want you.”

Hatefully Yours is the second book in the Blades of Heart interconnected standalone series. Books can be read independently, but for the full effect read the books in order. If you read Becoming Mine, Jace and Angel are familiar faces. For me this was an easy, low angst read. The book was easy to read and it did not take me long to read. Although I enjoyed the book and it was a pleasant read, I did not feel a real pull towards the characters. I was waiting for the edgy feeling of an enemies to lovers, more of a foreplay buildup, but never quite got that. Would I read another Roxanne book? Absolutely. Her books give me the palate cleanse in between the more angsty, darker reads that I dive into.

Angel was an Olympic Figure Skater until an accident on the ice put a pin in her plans. Now two years later she is still avoiding many of the aspects of her “former life”. She is living with her father, helping with her rambunctious six year old sister, teaching aerobics at the college, and just at the point where she is dipping her toes back into her life.

Jace met Angel five years ago when he joined the team. Their relationship got off to a rocky start and has stayed there.

They are both at crossroads, Angel combating her fear of the ice and Jace reflecting on an injury and a contract year. Bringing them together.

But, navigating their newfound truce amidst the murmurs of those around them brings the doubt in.

Hatefully Yours by Roxanne Tully is the second book in the Blades of Heart series. I read it after reading Becoming Mine, but it can be read as a standalone.

At the beginning of this book, I felt Angel's fear of the ice. And I held my breath with her as she took her first steps back onto it. I enjoyed watching her build her self back up and had the biggest smile on my face and feeling of pride when she performed in the holiday showcase.

I enjoyed every moment that Angel and Jace skated and trained together. Their hatred and chemistry mixed perfectly in these moments.

I also enjoyed watching Jace grow as he helped Angel gain her confidence back and became protective of her. I loved how he took in all the advice she gave him and I love that he accepted her help with the real reason he wanted more ice time.

❤ the moment in the diner when Angel and Jace showed each other their scars

❤ the holiday showcase

❤ from the moment they met

❤ I love how Tully included the same characters from the first book and how her characters all play an important role

I always appreciate the realistic endings that Tully creates. While this ending had me smiling and filled my heart, it seemed more like a hold than an ending, so I am looking forward to seeing more of Angel and Jace in Timelessly Ours, the next book in the series.

I absolutely loved Hatefully Yours.

Jace and Angel take you on a journey all about dusting yourself off after you fall and getting back up. Their story is full of angst, healing and all the emotions.

Jace is recovering from an injury that continues to flare up, he’s terrified for what that may mean for his career if it ever gets out so he works harder than anyone else to just be okay to play with as painless as possible.

Angel was badly injured two years ago and hasn’t been back on the ice since. Too traumatised to even think about it even though it’s her first love.

Jace and Angel have always been at each other’s throats from the first time they met. He gave her all the cockiness and she gave him all the sass back.

I absolutely love both of these characters and the flow of this book. It is the perfect weekend read and exactly what I needed.

Roxanne writing is easy to follow, her characters are well developed and the plot is amazing.

This enemies to lovers, angst filled hockey romance will have you addicted from the very beginning until to the very end.

I can’t recommend this enough.

I also cannot wait for Coach and Nicole’s story, I just know I’m going to love it.

Thank you to Roxanne and Midnight Readers PR for the ARC.

Jace Knight is a Defenseman for the Buffalo Blades Hockey Team. Co-Captain with his best friend, Nick. He's Stubborn & Cocky. Fiercely Protective. Hot & Chiseled 🔥

Angel Collins is a Figure Skater, down & out after a horrific injury. The Coach's Daughter. Blonde & Beautiful. Sassy & Stubborn.

Public Enemy Number 1. These two swipe at each other any chance they get and for the past five years, that's a lot!

A private moment between them leads way to the two of them working together. For her, it's overcoming her fears of the ice. For him, hiding an injury in his contract year.

The banter between them soon becomes something more. Each navigate this new dynamic in different ways. Equally stubborn. Push & Pull. Several stumbling blocks in the way, but ultimately they figure it out 💗 Jace is actually an extremely sweet guy 😍

This one was another Slow Burn, but that's ok. Would have loved to see Jace a little more comfortable with Nick & Cora's relationship at this point, but he's at least starting to come around. Maybe by the time Coach & Nicole's story hits, he'll be there, lol 🤣

Really starting to enjoy this new, to me, author. I'll continue to read her books as they come. Time to look at others already released too 😉

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"You've filled something that's been empty for as long as I can remember. I'd give it all up without a second thought for another chance with you. For a life with you."

'Hatefully Yours follows Jace Knight, star defensemen of the Buffalo Blades, and Angel Collins, the coach's daughter and Jace's number one enemy. From the moment they met, there was animosity between them. Five years later and the same feeling is still there.

That is until Angel wants to get back on the ice after her incident, and Jace offers to help her. With spending so much time privately together, it is only so long before the hate turns to love and their feelings soon change.

But with Jace keeping a secret, and Angel being the only one to know, what will happen when the secret gets shared with the one person Jace did not want to find out... his coach.'

This story was super cute and I adored both Jace & Angel. It was sweet to see how Jace's feelings were slowly changing over the time that they had spent together.

Do I wish he could apologised sooner? Yes, but the way he made it up to her was too adorable so I forgive him!
