Olivia adds so much detail to all of her novels, and this one doesn’t disappoint. I don’t know what I can say without giving spoilers. Looking forward to part II!
Giorgio… like 40% of this book was about him. I feel like his story was the least interesting in the whole book because nothing really happened to him. I don’t know… I feel like this series has gone downhill since Valentino. This book was more about Alessandra and Dario. Alessandra was so annoying. Emilia too. The only real action was at the end.

Family… get in here and sit down. We need a meeting. A serious one. Because what is going on???
Yeah no, we need to TALK 😭
This is book EIGHT in the Mafia Kings series by Olivia Thorne and I just have one question:
Why are we still here??
Like genuinely. At what point do we look around and say, “okay, we’ve done enough crime, let’s go home.”
Because at this point we have officially exhausted:
the brothers the cousins the best friends probably the extended cousins twice removed a partridge and a pear tree
And now we’re on… mafia foot soldiers??
It’s giving “this series should’ve ended three spin-offs ago but nobody shut the mic off.”
📚 The Situation
So this one is Giorgio’s book.
Giorgio works for Adriano (yes that Adriano—the hot-headed, always-on-ten, Florence menace).
And the plot formula is doing what it always does:
he sees a girl ☕ she hates mafia men 🙄 they fall in love anyway 💀 violence happens 🔪 she wants nothing to do with him emotional damage ensues CLIFFHANGER
Because of course.
We are being held hostage until Book 9.
Featuring… Marcello.
And I need to ask this respectfully:
Who is Marcello???
This man appeared like I was supposed to already know him. Sir, I don’t. Please introduce yourself properly.
💀 Character Energy
Let me be honest… Giorgio was barely in his own book.
I don’t know who this book belonged to, but it was not him.
We had:
every brother every wife extended mafia universe DLC characters possibly someone’s emotional support animal
It felt like I was reading a family group chat transcript with violence sprinkled in.
Giorgio would show up like:
“Hey—”
And then immediately get overshadowed by seventeen side characters and a flashback from Book 2.
😮💨 And then the plot said: absolutely not
Because the real storyline involves…
A brother and sister who are involved in an incestuous relationship.
Yes. That is a sentence I had to read with my own eyes.
And if that wasn’t enough, the brother is also abusive toward her.
AND THEN—because this book said “let’s not stop there”—he beats a pregnant woman (Dario’s wife) almost to death.
At that point I just sat there like:
…why are we doing all this?
The revenge arc is tied to Dario killing their father in prison (self-defense), and suddenly we are on a full-scale descent into chaos, violence, and bad decisions.
It kept escalating and I kept questioning my life choices.
📏 Also… 700 pages??
SEVEN. HUNDRED.
For:
confusion side characters I didn’t ask for trauma I did not consent to Giorgio being on vacation in his own book
Be serious.
This could’ve been cut in half and still felt long.
By the end I wasn’t even angry—I was just tired. Spiritually, emotionally, logistically done.
😒 What Didn’t Work Way too long Way too many characters Main character barely present in his own book Extremely dark content (check your triggers, genuinely) Plot felt scattered and overstuffed
This was not a story. This was an endurance test.
😏 What Worked
Look… I survived it.
And there is something weirdly compelling about the sheer chaos of it all. Like watching a car crash in slow motion but with subtitles.
Also, I will admit—the stakes are high. Like dangerous dangerous.
But at what cost??
📊 Rating (13Pages Scale)
⭐⭐⭐ = I finished it, but I am emotionally filing a complaint
🧨 Spice Rating
🧨🧨 = present, but overshadowed by the emotional trauma happening in every direction
💬 Final Verdict
This book was:
too long too chaotic too dark barely about the actual main character
I love mafia romance… but this one didn’t just test me—it filed paperwork on me.
And yet…
I will probably read Book 9.
Because apparently I enjoy suffering with continuity.
💬 🔥 Signature Outro
This book tried it—and I survived it. Barely. Moving on before I get dragged into another 700-page hostage situation.
First, this book is left on a cliffhanger...not a happy camper here. Definitely not HEA for main male/female lead. Will they get their HEA one day? IDK. Next book isn't their book. But to be fair, this book was told in many POV so maybe they will reappear.
This was the best book thus far. Very dark. The villain is very evil, true villain form, very sick in the head for multiple reasons.
Tons of action in this book so you will definitely be entertained as well as stressed. I was not a fan of Emilia to be very honest. Her concerns made sense. of course. But my something I'm never a fan of is being judgemental. If you met someone and they are a certain way, work a certain, etc understand you decided to be with them knowing this. You can demand they change their whole identity because you do agree with it and give an ultimatum saying it's either you or whatever their path was initially. Stop trying to change someone and that was Emilia. Constant complaining, constant judgements. Wasn't a fan.
Alessandra was one who was once my least favorite character but the ending of the book she finally took a turn after a serious incident and started seeing things the way everyone else dissolved finally she's on board.
Not happy about the continuation book being released almost a year from now but hopefully it's just as good or even better than this one. This was a great read.

Several times I thought I had the end figured out but it did not end in the way I thought it would. I suffered right along with the characters and hoped that some kind of resolution would tie it all up. But things don’t work like that. Unfortunately, I felt the same agony as Alessandra did. I had preeclampsia and delivered my son 7 1/2 weeks early. I prayed for her and suffered with her. My son was born at 2 lbs 10oz. He survived and is a highly successful and happy father with a happy marriage and two sons. I had a harder time of it. Preeclampsia doesn’t just affect blood pressure, but your brain as well when you need to hang on to save your child. I did it willingly but my recovery was difficult. I’m praying for Alessandra and Elena now for their recovery, and pray also for Dario for the journey ahead for his blessed family. It must have been so difficult for you to write this story. I wish you the best. ❤️
Can’t wait to see how this plays out! Giorgio, GG, blossoms throughout the novel. It’s a sweet and complicated love story… steamy and heartbreaking at times. There are many pov chapters in this book. Definitely trigger warnings! While this is a sweet romance, I’d say more dark mafia action book. It reminds me of Niccolo’s book… you need to pay attention when reading. All the wives play parts. As to the villains…oh my gosh! I hated them each more every time I turned the page. An amazing story! I can’t wait for the next installment!
Wow! Another fantastic edition to the Mafia Kings! These books keep you so engaged and sucked into the story you can’t put them down! Poor Giorgio! The story is not over for him yet! Fingers crossed! Dario is one Don you don’t want to cross! He will come at you hard - especially if you hurt his wife and child! So I can’t wait for the next one! I love these books!!!!
Book 8 in the series is 699 pages and ends in a cliffhanger! I can’t believe this story ends in a cliffhanger! It’s an action packed story full of revenge and unleashed violence. As well as a touching love story for Giorgio and Emilie. All of the brothers and their wives are in this story too.
It was a love story at the beginning of the book and then a thrill ride of adventure at the end. So now we wait for part 2.
Once again, Olivia Thorn does not disappoint. Giorgio’s book in the Mafia Kings series was incredible. I was pulled in from the very first page and stayed immersed until the last. I felt everything — happiness, fear, anger (so much anger), and ultimately, hope. This story took me on a full emotional ride in the best way. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a gripping, high‑intensity read.
Before reading this book, I was wondering where the story is going to go because we got all the brothers books, but I was happily suprised where this story went and since it ended in a cliffhanger. This was a multicast chapters where we met all the prevoius characters, even thou the book is called Giorgio, it was part of the whole story and this book focuses more on the plot than the romance.
This was one of my favourite books in the series.
You definitely need to read the previous books in the series.
The Rosolini family is back. And a dark, twisted, dangerous, unhinged enemy is coming for them all. This is book 8 of the series and features Giorgio and Emilia. Be ready for extreme violence, brutality, despicable morality, massive bloodshed, also passion, humor, emotional turmoil and vengeance. As the story progresses the action and suspense ramps up as the Rosolini clan and the Caproni's are on a scary collision course!
This book is darker than the rest. But all the darkness makes you hate the villain and love the Rosolinis even more than the previous books. Through every trauma the love the guys have for their women never falters. Giorgio is as loyal to the family as any of the brothers. I loved his story. The mafia war is rough, made me cry as some parts. But getting through it was worth the anxiety.
Omg! I couldn't put the book down. It was so good and captivating. The storytelling was amazing and I loved that the entire family had a part in the storyline. I look forward to the next installment and can't wait to see what Dario, his brothers, Lars, Giorgio, and the women do in the next installment.
I have loved these books as the series has unfolded, but I have to admit I wasn't sure of this one to start with. However, getting to THAT end in the hospital and seeing all the characters come together in this way really did make up for it. I can't wait to see how this story ends and hope that the HEA we were promised for Georgio and Emilia is worth the wait.

Being left on a cliff colors my view on a book. The main FMC was bland. She knew what she was getting into yet did it and seemed to think he would give up his whole life for her. The book was from all characters POV, confusing at times. I really didn't care for Mei-ling in her story but she stepped up in this book, definitely more to her then realized.

I absolutely love the series but this wasn’t my favorite one. I didn’t care for the MFC even though I understood her POV. Also didn’t like the fact there was no HEA…I know we were told. I must say I loved the end because I remember why Dario was initially my favorite and I am going to reread that book again. I am hoping for it to all come together in the next book ❤️
I was absolutely blown away by this book. I have followed the series from the beginning and it has got better and better. I didn’t think you could top nicolo but by Christ that was absolute class. I’m salivating for part 2. Olivia thorn you are my hero. Thank you thank you thank you.
This is a great read. Young love, loyalty, love lost, and then there is some depraved evil. This story has it all. It went from love found, to tears of love lost, to the sadistic actions by some crazed sick individual.
This! This is the book we wanted. Interaction with the brothers and their wives. The wives involved in the decisions for the family! DARIO IN HIS BAG!!!! I await your next book with baited breath!!!
Best book ever. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I could not put it down. When I looked at the clock it was 6am. I didn't realize I had read all night. Can’t wait for the final book in the series.
How can you leave me hanging like that, Olivia Thorn? This had the hairs on the back of my neck straight up. This lunatic is a mess. He doesn't know what awaits him. The Fury of Hell is at his backdoor. I loved this series. Can't wait for the next one..
Yet again Olivia Thorn knocks it out of the park with a sequel! Just when you think the story ends she gives you all the you crave to know. Add a hot, steamy, strong MMC like Giorgio and you want to fall over him yourself! Wow this was so steamy, funny, dramatic, suspenseful, romantic and worth the binge!! I’m also completely in love with Mei-Ling’s character. She is one BA woman and I see what Roberto sees in her. Add the duo of a rival enemy and just wow! Thank you Olivia! This was worth waiting for!!
#8 Giorgio, was all I could have hoped for and expected from my favorite author and favorite mafia series. Hoping #9, Marcello will have a HEA for my Mafia Kings.
