There’s no place darker than the mind.

They say the asylum is meant to cure the broken.

I disagree.

Some minds aren’t meant to be healed.

The thoughts of certain souls are too tempting, meant to be harvested, studied, and consumed.

Like my patient, Weston Carter.

From the moment he walked through my doors, young and strong, the devil’s Trojan horse in human skin, I knew he was special.

There’s beauty in destruction. The devil has good taste.

Carter doesn’t trust me. That’s good. It means he’s wiser than the others.

He thinks he can escape this place. Escape me.

But no one leaves without paying the ultimate price.

“You’re my favorite patient. I’m not going to hurt you.”

Author’s Lonely is a horror story with sexually explicit content and adult themes. It contains both MF and MM scenes. Intended for mature audiences only (18+). Reader discretion is strongly advised.

wait no actually, wtf did I just read HAHAHHA

this book is so unhinged so definitely check trigger warnings. I was literally laughing so much because our MMC is so mortified by women that when there’s sexual encounters it was just hilarious, unhinged, but hilarious.

If Harleigh writes it, I’m reading it. It was a short and wild read but a good time 🙂‍↕️

⚠️ Please read the trigger warnings! ⚠️
This is NOT a romance, this is an erotic horror story! 👀💀

"The world was full of horrors, but there was no place darker than the mind. And no truth was harder to swallow than the truth of who we were at our core."

"She threw her head back and clamped her thighs around my head, squeezing so hard I half worried it might pop like a tomato. At least I’d be red like one when she was done."

"You’re not the only psychopath, Doctor. Not the only man here with desires that would make a priest call for a fucking exorcism. So be good, shut that mouth, and fucking take it."

Oh boy, I did not expect to laugh that hard reading an er0tic horror story, but holy moly did I laugh! 😂😂😂 Being in the head of the doctor was the best experience ever. His thoughts were hilarious. 🤭🤣
But don’t get me wrong, you’ll still be grossed out at times. 😬😵😵 Let’s just say the Doctor has some… interesting hobbies outside of his office hours… if you see what I mean. 👀🪚🩸

I absolutely had the best time being in his head, really. He’s such an interesting character, I could’ve read 500 pages more and it still wouldn’t have been enough. 🖤📖

I love how I didn’t see the end coming — poor Carter didn’t see it coming either. 😅🙈

The book ended in the most poetic way. 😵🖤 I searched for another word to describe it, but poetic is definitely the only one that fits perfectly, in my opinion. 😭🖤

Once again, Harleigh Beck delivered with this book. The writing was perfect — as always, let’s be honest. 🥹✨

WHAT DID I JUST READ 👀

Let me start by saying, i loved this. Harleigh really knows how to capture readers with a mega plot line and plot twists galore 🙂‍↕️

Okay, i went into this and KNEW my mind was going to be all over the place whilst trying to figure out what was happening and where the plot was taking this story🫠

I loved Carter as soon as we met him, mental as he is😂 PLEASE KNOW, this is absolutely not a love story. 100% horror erotica and i was 100% here for it 🤪

The ending completely threw me, although I suspected elements of it and was rooting for certain people, the actual ending of the book?!? I had to sit for a minute after and collect my reeling thoughts, because what the fuck 🙃

This was an easy 5/5 for me, i was instantly captured by the storyline and characters and couldn’t put the book down 🤭

ARC review

I was super happy to dive into this book but unfortunately it just wasn't completely for me. I overall enjoyed the vibe and the story, but there were quite a few things that just weren't my thing and they ended up taking stars from it. I wouldn't really call them triggers, but things I don't necessarily like reading. But that's just me. Overall I would definitely recommend the book to the people who love dark and twisted reads, because I'm sure this will be a thrilling read for many people! This book wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but I will certainly check out the author's other books at some point! 😆🖤

Another amazing, dark and twisted book in the Wellard Asylum series. Short, wild ride.

Dr. James Stan and his internal monologue made me laugh multiple times, especially his comments during the spicy scenes with nurse Anna. His obsession with Carter was interesting and I liked their dynamic. And that ending! Mind blown…

Please check the TW/CW before reading! This book is DARK and your mental health matters.

“There was beauty in destruction. The Devil had good taste. He had proved as much when he chose this fine specimen to act as his vessel. I could almost taste it . . . the evil in him.”
“I’ll bleed for you. And because you’re such a good boy, I’ll let you do very, very bad things to me.”
“Men were easy. You stroked them. They came.”
“There was nothing like being treated like a dirty floor toy to make my cock twitch.”

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.

This story is very much in line with the rest of the series in regards to blatant representation of sexual deviances but what I love is that H stepped outside the box with the main male character by not making him a heart throb. There is an extra element that is added to the story when you can match the behaviors and actions to lesser attractive balding man.

You put two hot people together in an intimate situation and one might loose focus on the depravity I’m just saying so kudos to H for keeping the reader focused lol

The acts of a deranged lunatic starts in the first chapter with decapitation and aggressively continues with every chapter afterwards.

To be deemed as the worlds worse criminal confined inside a space with like minded there is bound to be situations of chaos with all the various levels of psychosis however what you explore is negligence callous cruel behaviors just by the asylum staff alone.

Wellard is a madhouse with round the clock vile deplorable behaviors and I eat that shit up.

One if my favorite parts besides the decap in the first chapter is the very ending. It was a creative addition to end the story.

Read responsibly and check triggers and know this not a HEA and that is so delicious 🤤

Amazing erotic horror by Harleigh Beck! This book was disturbing, graphic, weird, and all around f*cked up and I LOVED it. There were no “good” characters and it’s always fun (maybe not the right word but I’m a major horror fan so 🤷🏼‍♀️) reading from the villain’s POV. Being inside the mind of the doctor was a wild ride for sure!

HIGHLY recommend checking the trigger warnings before diving into this one! 💀

What a ride!

I love Harleigh's novellas, so when I saw an arc opportunity for this, I ran to sign up!

It's my first visit to Wellard Asylum, but it won't be my last! This is one of many books from various authors all set within the Wellard Asylum, and it's well worth the visit if you like dark horror novellas!

The characters were the perfect blend of psychotic and murderous, and f**ked up!

This novella is unhinged, morally black, and yet I couldn't put it down. Definitely check your triggers and content warnings before reading!

Thank you for the arc for my honest review 🫶

Book 4 in the Wellard Asylum Series.

Dr. James Stan has worked at the asylum for a long time, he knows all the ins and outs. Weston Carter, a 23 year old is admitted and placed under the doctor 🤭 Having committed three m*urders without remorse. The doctor becomes obsessed with this young man to the point of dr*gging him to have his way with him. During this time a nurse takes a liking to the doctor too, and ensures he knows what she wants from him. However, they all have their own secrets. It’s a quick few hours read and I’m not going to spoil it for you.

I’ve read quite a few of Harleigh’s books and they always deliver that WTF factor, this one is no different once you’ve allowed it to settle in your head and you start to dissect it, suffice to say there are once again elements some people will find disturbing, so read the triggers ‼️😈🍝

All I can say is... WHAT THE F*CK?!?!?

Harleigh is that girl when it comes to horror and by god did she deliver with this one! This book is so unhinged and wild and I loved every second of it.

When I tell you I had no idea what to expect from this book, I mean it! Everything that happened in this book came from out of left field and the poker face I had to put on at work while reading this, I should get an Oscar for.

This book dives into the POV of Dr. James Stan and his absolutely wicked and twisted mind. So bad that he definitely should be a patient in the institution he is doctoring at. He takes a liking to the newest arrival Carter and that's when the obsession takes place.. We also have Nurse Anna who's not so innocent and should also definitely have her own bed in Wellard along with MMC (I will not look at high heels the same again, IYKYK)

Overall, I loved this book so much. I love a good twisted story and this had it all!! I cannot wait to read the rest of this series and dive deeper into this world of Wellard Asylum 🖤

Arc review “Lonely” 🔪🩸

Rating: 5✨

Really recommend it to check trigger warnings and keep in mind this is a HORROR erotica book! Absolutely not romance, not romantizing any relationships from this book, since it’s happening into an asylum: both employers and patients are sick in the head.

James is a pshychiatrist in the Wellard Asylum with really disturbing and deranged thoughts about his patients. I was amazed how good the author wrote his thoughts in his mind, his desire for blood and lust. I am frightened about what he is doing in his house with this “friends” and the punishments from his mother?!?

Carter is the patient in cause. Locked up in the Asylum for killing 3 men. He is James’s patient and their meetings were deranged.

Anne is the sexy nurse with short skirts and a bracelet on her ankle. She is a temptation for James. The book contains MF and MM scenes.

What I love about this book is how Harleigh could describe such scenes and thoughts. I ended up reading it in one sitting because I wanted to know what James is going to do next. I am not THAT surprised of the ending, because I kinda see it coming. I am so happy for it, because we can’t let monsters lurking there.

This is not a romance book, it's an er0tic horror story! Please check the tw-list with this before reading, since there are a lot and this book deals with heavy topics.

Soo... that was fun 🤭 it's a shorter read since it's a novella, so I finished it in one sitting. Aaaaand it's unhinged to say the least, so be prepared for a very wild ride 🤣

Dr. Stan works in an asylum full of dangerous patients. One of his newest ones is Carter, and the doctor immediately feels drawn toward him in an obsessive kind of way. There is also a nurse, Anna, who has a thing for the doctor.

There is a lot of spice happening in this novella and a lot of other stuff too, let me tell you 🙈 I lived for the tension between the characters and was so hooked what will happen next the entire time ❤️‍🔥

It's really not for the faint of hearts but so worth it 😏

Lonely is part of the Wellard Aslyum Serjes and I was lucky enough to be able to ARC read this erotic horror novella. I’m so so grateful. Thank you so much 🖤

Lonely is everything you’d expect and MORE out of a Harleigh Beck novella. The stories are always plot heavy, depraved and full of suspense. Every character is so unique and unhinged and lonely was NO exception. Being inside the mind of Dr. James Stan was interesting to say the least and it was truly a dark place. His inner monologue honestly had me giggling in certain scenes. That ending was also a nice surprise and now I’m itching to go read other Wellard Aslyum stories because I need more depravity.

Another absolute INSANE read from Harleigh that checks off every one of my boxes when reading erotic horror. I’m always looking forward to the next one! 👏🏼😏

I must admit, this is probably my first ever real horror erotica. No romance here for sure.
It’s dark, twisted, and completely unsettling - definitely not an easy read, so please check your TWs before diving in!

The doctor is utterly deranged, and he’s far from the only one inside The Wellard Asylum. This short novella had me shocked again and again.

If you’re looking for something short, very spicy, and so far outside the bounds of morality you’d need binoculars to see the line - this is it.

Thank you, Harleigh, for gifting me an ARC!🖤

“So be good, shut that mouth, and fucking take it.”

I love how every single Wellard book feels so different, yet each one is horrifically wild in its own way. Lonely takes us deep inside the POV of MMC Dr. James Stan, and let me tell you, he is not your typical young, hot heartthrob. Oh no. He’s older, balding, and completely, unapologetically unhinged. Things spiral fast when his obsession with his new patient, Carter, begins to take root.

“He was mine. His body and mind—even his thoughts, if I allowed them—belonged to me.”

But it doesn’t stop there. While Dr. Stan is hyperfixating on Carter, we also have Nurse Anna gunning for the doctor himself. The result? Deliciously twisted moments of dominance, obsession, and pure fuckery that had me grinning like a maniac.

“Shut up. I have a new mother now.” My eyes grew heavy. “I like her better.”

I lost track of how many times I muttered “WTF” while reading this. The mind games were absolutely chef’s kiss. Every character is so perfectly unhinged, and the chaos made this one of the most entertaining, disturbing, and addictive reads I’ve had in a while.

And let’s just say… I will never look at belts or high heels the same way again.

Can always rely on a Harleigh Horror, which will make you question your sanity 🤣

This is not a romance - there's no romance in this story. There's no love or fluffy moments.

Why did i enjoy this so much? 🤣
Insanely twisted, stomach churning but with elements of humour and personality from the mmc that i couldnT help laughing at;

"I seriously debated jumping through the window. How high was the fall? We were on the third floor."

you and me both, mate 🤣

Our mmc - Dr. James Stan has worked at the asylum for a long time. He sets his obsession on the newly arrived patiEnt - Carter.
carter isn't much of a talker, which frustrates the 'good' doctor. So, of course, he adopts alternative methods to try and penetrative carter's walls 🤭 brace yourself!
Our doctor has quite the little hobby 🤣 and a very negative relationship with his mother, who attempts to control him via his faith (on page religious themes)
Who would've thought this psychiatrist would be so popular with a specific nurse ? Wow, she's something else 🤣 i mean, he's a balding middle-aged man with a severe attitude problem towards dress code and jewellery 🤣

Harleigh definately addressed my 🩸 k/nk cravings in this one 🤣

This novella is part of a series called wellard asylum. Each one is standalone and published by 13 different authors.

I had read the author’s warnings, and normally I don’t pick up books without a HEA. Still, the quotes and TikTok edits made me curious enough to give this one a try, and I’m glad I did. It doesn’t end happily, but the ending works so well for the story.

This is erotic horror, not romance. Every character is unhinged in their own way, which makes it so dark and addictive. Dr. James Stan is a psychiatrist at Wellard Asylum, and being inside his head was both disturbing and fascinating. I also kept wondering about the mother—was she real, or just a creation of his mind? That mystery gave the whole book an even more unsettling edge.

I liked that he got to explore another side of himself with Anna, but in the end he was made for Carter. Their connection was twisted, obsessive, and toxic, yet it fit perfectly with the world Harleigh Beck created. The way everything came together in the final chapters made the story feel complete, even without a HEA.

While this was very well written, it lacked in certain aspects for me. I enjoy smut as much as the next woman, but with the context of this project I had hoped for more. The asylum wasn't utilized the way I was hoping for, unlike it's book one and three counterparts by other authors.

The characters didn't have the depth I was hoping for and I get this is a novella but even so, a better story could have been told. I didn't hate this but I didn't exactly love it. There were no factors that made me question my sanity and I love those moments, especially when an asylum is supposed to be the grounding foundation.

Harleigh, you’ve done it again, another absolute banger. Every book of yours wrecks me in the best way, and Lonely is no exception.

I found myself cringing, gasping, and grinning through the entire depraved, twisted storyline…and I loved every second of it. This book is raw, gory, and unapologetically spiced-up madness.

If harleigh writes it I’m gonna read it! In my opinion she writes the best horror erotica novels which plays with our minds and keeps us in the edge of the seat
This was one was also the same it was so damn good
It was so unhinged all the characters were truly twisted and fucked in the head
Dr.James his inner monologue was written so well he was so funny during the spicy scenes with Anna got me laughing
Also he’s also very unhinged and a killer but also a doctor
Carter his character was also so fucked
I would say I saw that ending coming but i enjoyed it very much

Lonely follows Doctor James Stan, who is a Doctor at Wellard Asylum. The thing is, Dr Stan is as unhinged as the patients he treats in the asylum. One patient, Weston Carter, gets Dr Stan's attention from the minute he sees him; he knows he is special, and he needs to have him. Carter becomes his favourite patient; he thinks he can escape Dr Stan, but no one escapes him.

Dr Stan isn't like most MMCs in Erotic horror books that I have read; he was unhinged, like the other, yes, but he wasn't sexy and mysterious. There was no he's a 10 but he's a serial killer with Dr Stan. He was older, receding hairline, greying hair and a bit of a belly. It was a whole different take that I haven't seen before, and I liked that.

You always see a lot of books where the FMC has daddy issues; this one was totally flipped. He had real bad mummy issues. To be fair, his mother was a horrid woman!

Carter, on the other hand, seemed sexy and like a 10 out of 10, but he's a psycho vibe.

Dr Stan has never had sex with a woman, until nurse Anna decides she is going to bang him and his internal monologue was amusing. Poor guy was bulldozed by her.

If you like unhinged, spicy AF and gory AF books then you will love this!

Thank you, Harleigh, for sending me an ARC of this book.

It took me a bit to get to this one, but I finally dove into Lonely, and wow — this series just keeps getting better. I’m absolutely hooked and can’t wait for each new release.

That said, let me warn you: this book is pure horror. By coincidence (or bad timing), I started reading it the same evening I was watching a documentary about Ed Gein, and the parallels were chilling. It really drove home that if your mother is a religious fanatic, things might take a very dark turn — and yes, I’m joking; I’m Catholic myself.

The main character in Lonely is fascinatingly complex. The entire story is told from the doctor’s point of view, and I found it incredibly intriguing how his behavior and attitude toward intimacy shift depending on the gender of the person he’s interacting with. It’s one of those subtle psychological details that makes the story feel disturbingly real.

I won’t spoil anything, but this book is dark, unsettling, and not necessarily one that ends in a happily ever after. Make sure to read the trigger warnings before diving in.
