Dreamer In Chains: Poems of Exile and Resilience

Rate this book
Born from exile, war, and an unbreakable spirit, Dreamer in Chains is the breathtaking debut poetry collection by Sudanese-American poet and humanitarian Hagir Elsheikh.

Through raw, courageous, and beautifully crafted verse, Hagir takes readers on a journey from the ruins of displacement to the fierce reclaiming of hope, belonging, and voice.

These poems do not just tell her story; they carry the stories of millions who have been forced to leave everything behind, yet refuse to surrender their dreams.

Dreamer in Chains is a testimony to survival, a tribute to resilience, and a love letter to the human spirit that refuses to break.

I carried these poems across continents, across silence, across survival. Now, I offer them to the world.

If you have ever felt lost, silenced, or unseen, these poems will find you. And they will remind
Even in chains, a dreamer’s heart still beats.
