Ivy has dedicated her life to serving the unseen. Daily, she serves meals at homeless camps. As important, she spends time with them. She knows their names, their histories, and their likes. She sees them as people, not problems. So, she notices when they start disappearing. Logan's big brother disappeared, and he won't stop searching until he finds him. He's the only person Logan has left in this world. One night in a homeless camp, Ivy and Logan's paths cross, and they decide to combine their efforts. It leads them to answers and horrors they could have never imagined.
I was not expecting this. It's dark and disturbing. The tension is true. It's a mixture of paranormal horrors and the evils only humans can produce. I can't imagine a more macabre setting for a love story. Ivy is the speck of light and must be protected at all costs. There's a sense of dread from the beginning that builds each page. I never relaxed, even with the happy-for-now ending. I kept waiting for the next horror to unveil. I just know the shadows are closing in. I can't imagine we are finished with this world.
