First and foremost, a large thank you to NetGalley, Rob Jones, and Boldwood Books  for providing me with a copy of this publication, which allows me to provide you with an unbiased review.

After enjoying the first few novels in this collection, I was excited to receive an ARC for the latest book. Max Hunter has enjoyed his time with HARPA, from the missions to the connections he's made with his teammates. His passion for archeology and prominent UNESCO job have made him much sought after in the field. This novel picks up where the last ended, full of tension. A few members of HARPA have been kidnapped by a powerful group, but they are willing to negotiate. The religious relic held by HARPA is of great importance to said group. As HARPA members travel across Europe, they add new faces to the mix, in hopes of saving the captives and helping provide others with revenges all their own. Rob Jones keeps the tension high in this well-crafted piece.

Members of HARPA (Heritage, Artifacts, and Relics Protection Agency) are still stunned to learn that their Director, Jim Gates, has been kidnapped, alongside his wife. Add to that, one of their own, Quinn Mosley, and a UNESCO archeologist, making the mission all the more important. The group holding them captive is both powerful and resourceful, but they have one thing they want that could help release the prisoners. HARPA members are in possession of the Sword of St. Michael, a powerful relic that holds religious significance. If the sword is handed over, everyone goes free, so the bartering goes. Something seems fishy and even Max Hunter cannot deny it. He’s found himself connected to this team and yet still holds dear his work with UNESCO.

While Hunter and the rest of HARPA begin their journey, they try to trace the origins of the call made that shared this negotiating intel. The group leader, Oriax, appears to be playing games and almost kills the HARPA team in a bombing. Members of HARPA meet others as they trek across Europe, each with their own agenda and wanting to handle vendettas owed to them, as Oriax seems to have caused havoc in many ways. HARPA will stop at nothing to save their own, willing to add to the ragtag group, though never entirely trusting anyone.

Grabbing the challenge by the horns, Max Hunter leads the way across Europe and into Russia. It is actually Egypt where Oriax has been waiting to complete the trade, making th mission a transcontinental feat. There is no doubt that returning the hostages is of the utmost importance, but there is no way the sword can fall into the hands of this evil man. It will be a major sacrifice and someone is sure to feel the wrath when all is said and done! A great novel that ties up some loose ends while leaving others for the reader to ponder until the next piece!

Rob Jones delivers yet another gripping novel that juggles the wonders of history with significant action, while handling the cliffhanger he left in the last book. Jones presents a narrative that is both intense and educational, while mixing in elements of history and mystery, as well as some biblical references. This follow the plan he uses with the other books in the series. Numerous  characters have emerged in the series, once more adding to their perspectives. Max Hunter’s story stays on track and the reader can see where things are headed for the archeologist and member of HARPA. Plot points keep the reader on edge and wondering what awaits them, entertaining and educating as Jones is apt to do. This was one of the more tension-filled books of the series and has me eager for the next book, when it becomes available.

Kudos, Mr. Jones, for a great piece that left me needing more!

This is the first book I have read in the series, this is actually the 5th book. It does work well as a standalone, but I am kicking myself for not coming across this series sooner. I have since bought the previous books and look forward to reading them all.

This is a fabulous action packed story as a team tries to save their kidnapped friends. It is time sensitive, so the tension is there from the outset. Starting from where the previous book ended, and the discovery of a religious sword, Max Hunter and his team are informed of the kidnapping. The exchange is the hostages in exchange for the sword.

This book is fast-paced as the team travels from Cornwall to other countries by plane, train, automobile and the odd helicopter. There are details of prophecies, biblical and religious quotes, all of which add details to the sword and why it is being sought out.

Hunters' team are a special branch of researchers, a mix of backgrounds and experience but with one goal. To find artefacts and prevent them from getting into the wrong hands. A modern Dr Jones team, if you like.

I really enjoy this treasure-hunting style of action and adventure book. This one is full of different scenarios, twists, and the hunt for power. It comes across as being well researched. I am aware of certain things mentioned in this book, but there are other things I was not aware of. Some is stuff of history, myth and legend, but there are sections from the Bible and other Religious origins that are included.

This is a great book to read, although I am now going to read the first book, The Atlantis Covenant. If you are a fan of adrenaline-fuelled, paced thrillers, then this is one you should really be looking at. Do better than me, though, start the series from the beginning! This is a book I would definitely recommend.

This is my second book from Rob Jones. The Angel Prophecy is the fifth book in the Hunter Files series. I have read the first book in the series and have the other books on my tbr list.

I was really happy to see this book. The skilful intertwining of adventure, action and archeology in this series gives it a real edge for me. This time Max and the team are on the case to keep the Sword of the Archangel Michael out of the hands of Oriax. They have kidnapped Max's teammate, the director of HARPA,Jim and his wife and Hunter's UNESCO manager. Oriax will exchange them for the Sword of Archangel Michael with  24 hour deadline!

It is in exhilarating and adrenaline pumped adventure as they race through Europe and beyond in a race against time!! It's fast paced, exciting and just as good, if not better than The Angel Prophecy. The story line has not aged and doesn't feel formulaic after four books.

The characters are intriguing too! I was so invested in Hunter and the team saving their friends. It was almost like a white knuckle ride reading this! The pages of the book went by so fast! I so enjoy this type of story! I don't read them enough! It is perfect for anyone who loves an adrenaline filled read!

The Angel Prophecy, book five in the Hunter Files from Rob Jones is a chilling, fast moving adventure that sees HARPA members in some serious trouble, kidnapped and held ransom by a man who is pure evil; a man who believes his beliefs are the true way of life and means to make sure he succeeds in banishing evil.
Alesky Petkevich, or Oriax, a religious zealot has spent a lifetime creating immense wealth, collecting invaluable religious artifacts, and using that wealth to open doors as well as clean away the evil he has also created. He is illusive, wicked and you could say depraved.
HARPA’s last mission was to uncover what they believed was King Arthurs Sword, Excalibur at Tintagel, which is now in their custody, but the reality is, it is the Sword of the Archangel Michael, a powerful weapon which in the wrong hands could result in utter devastation. Oriax is aware of this and wants that sword; he is prepared to go to any ends to get it, to use the power to fulfil what he considers his life’s work.
Max Hunter and the team, those whom have not been kidnapped by Oriax, are now trying to work out how best to not only rescue their team members Quinn Mosley, Professor Juliette Bonnaire from UNESCO and Jim and Suzannah Gates but keep the sword safe.
This leads them on a mission that is both horrifying, fraught with danger at every turn and brings them to St Catherines Monastery at the base of Mount Sinai, built more than one and a half thousand years before at what is considered to the site where Moses saw the Burning Bush and is now a sacred site for both Jewish and Christian religions.
Petkevich brings them all together, unwillingly in Harper and the team’s opinion, to witness the power held within the sword, and believes that with the sword in his hands he is unstoppable. But is he!
Rob Jones has taken a slice of history and used it as a very real possibility which does make the storyline a lot more believable as well as offering an interesting place to be researched, that of St Catherines Monastery built between 548 and 565, which is the world's oldest continuously inhabited Christian monastery.

This was a strong entry in the Hunter Files series. It had exactly the adventure element I had been hoping for after the previous book, and Rob Jones absolutely delivered. His writing style continues to shine, with crisp pacing, well developed characters, and a story that grabs you from the first chapter and does not let go.

Max Hunter and the HARPA team once again find themselves caught up in a high stakes race against time, this time centering on the elusive Sword of St. Michael. I loved how the action moved seamlessly across Europe, with tense escapes, betrayals, and heart stopping set pieces that gave the whole book a cinematic feel. The suspense was perfectly balanced with the character development, and I appreciated that the team dynamics continue to grow richer with each installment.

The atmosphere was tense and immersive, making me feel like I was right there in the middle of the chase. Everything I enjoyed about the previous books was here, only sharpened and improved, the plotting tighter, the action more intense, and the stakes higher than ever.

Rob Jones has truly mastered the art of blending archaeological intrigue with fast paced thriller elements. If you are a fan of adventure thrillers with history, relics, and unrelenting suspense, this series is one you should not miss.

Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books, and Rob Jones for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 stars for me.
I read this book as an ARC and thank Boldwood Books and NetGalley. This review is based on my reading the book and is an honest reflection of my feelings for the story. I have read other works from the author and have enjoyed them.

This latest adventure follows Dr. Max Hunter, Agent Amy and team as they race against time to rescue kidnapped colleagues and protect an ancient sword that holds immense power. The story moves fast juxtaposed with plenty of action, danger and unexpected turns. The sense of urgency is strong and the locations feel vivid, giving the book an exciting cinematic quality.

I enjoyed the relationship between Hunter and Fox, which adds warmth and humanity to the otherwise high energy plot. The writing is smooth and confident, making it an easy book to fall into.

However, some of the supporting characters feel thinly drawn and parts of the conspiracy plot tread familiar ground, this being a favourite genre for me. The fast pace, while entertaining, sometimes leaves little space for emotional depth or reflection.

Overall, The Angel Prophecy is a lively and enjoyable thriller that delivers exactly what it promises: a fast and fun read filled with danger and adventure. It might not stay with you long after the final page, but it certainly makes for a thrilling journey while you are in it.

This new installment in the Hunter Files starts with a bang, and the reader is thrown straight into a worrying situation for the team (I'm not sure if this carries over from the previous book, but I suspect it might). This time, members of the team are in peril and Max Hunter and his fellow team members resolve to outwit the person holding them captive in exchange for St Michael's sword, and with very little to go on in terms of leads.

Tracking down every potential lead, the team make their way from Cornwall to London, Paris and then beyond, their destination not quite where they think it will be, as the tension ramps up in this fun action and adventure story, where the 'baddie' is definitely quite bonkers, powerful, and seemingly, able to do anything he wants with his captives.

Like The Atlantis Covenant, the story is fast-paced and fun, the interactions between the characters flippant and somewhat light-hearted, considering the peril they're in. The series will certainly appeal to those who like National Treasure (as I've said before) and their history with a little bit of conspiracy. 3.5 rounded up to 4.

The Hunter Files Book 5

The group's leader, Oriax, says he will trade their friend's lives for the Sword of the Archangel Michael and gives them a twenty-four hour deadline to meet his demands.

This is the first book in the series that I have read. The pace is fast and the characters are well-developed. The tension builds throughout the book, it's also quite atmospheric. The HARPA team has a race against time to rescue the HARPA members that have been kidnapped. There were some parts that seemed to drag on a bit. This book did read well as a standalone.

I’m really enjoying The Hunter Files series, and The Angel Prophecy might be my favorite so far. It has everything I look for in a thriller: fast-paced action, smart twists, and characters I actually care about.
What makes this book stand out for me is the mix of archaeology and adventure. Max Hunter isn’t just chasing danger, he’s chasing meaning. The search for the Sword of the Archangel Michael takes the team across Europe, Moscow, and Egypt, and every location adds something exciting to the story.
I also love the emotional side of the team dynamic. The stakes feel personal, and the loyalty between characters makes the tension hit harder. There are some great surprises, and the villains are genuinely chilling.
This one picks up right after the last book, so it’s perfect if you’re reading the series in order. But even if you’re new, it’s easy to get into.
If you like thrillers with brains, heart, and a bit of ancient mystery, this series is a great pick. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Many thanks for this free digital copy, all opinions are mine

Another high-octane testosterone fest!
Max Hunter is the lead operator of a UNESCO highly motivated team of members including a specialized FBI agent and several archaeologists. The story rolls along like a high speed-train as they chase the mad villain who knows where the sword of the archangel is secreted all while keeping the characters growing. The relic keeps becoming more elusive what with traps including a bomb detonation. Great read for a sunny day, and I hope many more books in this series.
I requested and received a temporary uncorrected digital galley from Boldwood Books via NetGalley.

Max Hunter and the HARPA team are on the hunt again. Only this time it’s a man rather than a relic. Oriax has kidnapped Quinn, one of their team, and three other people who are connected to HARPA. They’re being held hostage and the ransom is the Sword of the Archangel Michael which the team has just recovered. They’ve been just 48 hours to get the sword to Cairo to exchange it for the prisoners. Outwardly the team agree to the demand but intend to find Oriax and their friends before the deadline. And so begins a race across Europe, gathering clues and meeting allies to help them or at least they hope they’re allies!

Great opening and the team are straight into action, the pace of the story just doesn’t let up.

Thanks to @netgalley @robjones and @theboldbookclub

This is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be the last. Apparently, this book is part of the Hunter series, however, I have read it as a standalone as I didn't know! Needless to say, for me, it didn't detract from the book. This was a fast-paced mystery/thriller set across numerous time zones and covers (in a nutshell) archaeology, FBI special units, ex-military, and biblical tropes.
I enjoyed reading it. It did "waffle" a bit in parts and sometimes there was a bit too much description but saying that it didn't stop me devouring the book!
Would definitely recommend and would be keen to read other books in the series.

The Angel Prophecy. This is a good old fashioned adventure story full of fighting and intrigue. In the space of 48 hours we move from Cornwall to London then an escapade across Europe to end in the Middle East. Great fun and exciting in equal measure. Somethings seem a little far fetched but it rounds out the storyline. Thoroughly recommend this book. With thanks to the author, Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.

This is book five in this series. I haven’t read the previous books. In this one we follow Hunter and the rest of his team as they try to rescue their other teammates.
This was a fast moving book that’s full of action. I thought the idea of the sword of Archangel Michael was interesting. I’ll definitely be checking out the rest of this series.

I haven’t read any of this series before but have to go back and read them all after this! What an explosive book, so fast paced and full of action and adrenaline. It was impossible to put down and I read it in less than 24 hours.

HARPA team are a great bunch of guys, all from different backgrounds but work so well together to achieve their goal - in this case, save their friends and keep hold of the Sword of the Archangel Michael and not let the madman get his hands on it. They follow the trail all over Europe trying to track down the hostages and free them before the deadline.

I really enjoyed this and found it a good standalone. I think you would benefit from reading the others in the series for the background of each character and previous hunt but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this great novel.

We are back in the action with the 5th installment of The Hunter Files. Recently I reviewed the 1st installment called The Atlantis Covenant so when I saw this one, I was eager to get back into the adventures and treasure hunting. Though I jumped from book 1 to book 5, it was still easy to follow along and if you enjoy Lara Croft or Indiana Jones like adventures, then this may be a good series to pick up for a fast paced, edge of your seat, thrill ride around the world as we try to put the pieces of the puzzles together. One day, I am going to get these books in audio form, I be they will be like listening to a super fun, intense movie!

Max is back and is working with his HARPA team to rescue one of their own. The kidnappers are willing to barter but they want the Sword of Archangel Michael. I have no issues with religious relics and elements being infused into adventure narratives. I enjoy when an author explores the potential for items such a Michael's sword or similar to exist somewhere on earth.

I was entertained and felt the characters were as fun and dynamic as previous books. Sure, there's a lot of running, and escaping, and near misses, and welding weapons, but those are the things that keep this book feeling like time is running out and the characters are enmeshed in significant danger.

No doubt there was much action involved for the HARPA team up against evil and protecting the sword. The evil having been perpetrated by Oriax. There's plenty of guns and chases and coercion but for some reason I couldn't seem to get hooked into the narrative. I suppose when biblical elements are turned into an admixture of holy and unholy it feels like the sacred has been tarnished and trampled upon. However, I do believe this mystery/thriller story has been well written and that potential readers who don't mind this sort of thing, will find much that interests them as the story unfolds.
