Immortal Hunters #4

Hunted by the Fae Duke

Rate this book
Let Hunting Season officially begin...

Charlotte Fitzroy has never fit in with high society. Parentless and penniless, she’s on the brink of an unprecedented seventh season without a proposal.

When unexpected heartbreak proves she’s further from true love than ever, a trick of dark magic lands her in the Otherworld. There, she’s offered the chance at a title she’d never dreamed possible: Queen of the Fae.

To claim it, she’ll have to perform three tasks. Summon the Wild Hunt by piecing together an ancient relic scattered across the kingdom. Charm her hunters, the three beautiful, dangerous Fae dukes who will fight to claim her and become king. And keep her hands off her bodyguard, Sir Lachlan Cathal—the quiet, strapping knight who’s hiding deliciously depraved secrets beneath his chivalrous exterior.

But not everyone in the Otherworld wants a mortal queen, and betrayal lurks around every gilded corner. As the hunt stalks toward a bloody, brutal end, Charlotte must make an impossible choice—win the crown or follow her heart?

Hunted by the Fae Duke is a dark romantasy standalone and part of the Immortal Hunters collection. This twisted faerie tale is perfect for readers who've always wondered what Bridgerton might look like in the magical world of The Cruel Prince and with kinkier spice.

I am seriously loving this series and how much of a wild ride it has been, and this one was no different. I loved how it had a Bridgerton theme, but with a twist of fantasy with it. The story alone had me glued to the seat but the spice?! I wanted to melt from the scenes with Charlotte and Lachlan, because we all know forbidden love always hits just right. The story has just enough amount of darkness, suspension with so many twists and turns that you just didn’t see coming at all. I honestly wish that we would get a bonus chapter of the ending because I just needed more and never wanted the story to end.

Spoiler free ish

Thank you oh so very much to the author for letting me read her book early!

Finally, a story in this collection that I enjoyed because the first books were just not for me. This was more to my tastes. I did not expect to like this so much because I could not get into Kris’ series The Memory Puller. It was a bit too juvenile for me. But this, Wow! The author’s writing has immensely improved since then. The verbiage here is mature & thoughtful & poignant. She has really found her rhythm as an author in this book because Kris managed to put oh so much into a standalone.

The scene opens with a Bridgerton type setting but within a fae romantasy world. Oh yea I’m sat🤭 We meet the most darling FMC who is saucy & sassy & feisty despite her hardships. This woman just got into the swing of things snap snap as soon as the plot started plotting. She handled everything like an adult; with grace & kindness & care for everyone & everything.

& the MMC (queue Lana Del Rey singing in the background “Dear Lord when I get to…..”🤣) who is a red headed knight (finally an original hair color) who’s quiet & stoic & boy can he blush so pretty. The man has various piercings & wears glasses… so do with that what you will😏 Oh & I’ll spoil that he used to have quite the job prior to being a knight. So anyway😂this man was so clearly written by an author who just knows how to keep his POV off the page but still have him being a full on yearning simp! He was just so delightful to experience through the FMC’s eyes. I adore how he was both soft & hard when needed🙈

This story has a slower moving plot that’s more romance heavy where basically we get a forbidden romance that will eventually break your heart then put it back together again. But it’s still engaging with the absolute most adorable side characters (including a couple that I’m gonna need a standalone for stat!) & boy the spice yea it’s definitely something🥵but surprisingly it doesn’t dominate the plot at all.

Listen, has this concept of fae been done before? Yea but it’s got such a fresh & unique take here that I was surprised I enjoyed it despite my critiques: the powers they have feel awfully convenient especially in regard to the overall plot. Also, the world building felt a little messy & convoluted at times. But I literally do not care because this book is truly a refreshing read so these are just minor offenses in comparison.

Love this read, fantasy with spicy regency flair and such great characters. Charlotte is smart, sweet and doesn’t know her own worth because she has sat on the marriage market too long. Enter 3 hot Fae Dukes and a body guard !!! I’m such a fan of the bodyguard trope and this one was hot !! I love a good overprotective MMC and Lachlan totally fit that bill. Then we have the Dukes and it was so much fun following Charlotte in each court. Accompanied by one of the Dukes sisters and an amusing as heck pixie (watch out they bite) I was throughly entertained!! I really enjoyed Charlotte coming into her own and over coming all the challenges thrown at her. Really fun read !!!

Well shit.
This was a very pleasant surprise and I ate this book up.
The character development of the FMC and the fact that the MMC was a breath of fresh air. 🥹 the silent support was beautiful.
I also VERY MUCH liked the resolution of the story. VERY MUCH. It did not go into the direction I thought it would and I appreciate it.
The found family was awesome, the female friendships as well.
The villains were villaining but not overtaking the story.

I would like to thank the author for the ARC and also for the ending. Truly.

4.25 STARS!

This was such a fun time.

A mortal woman accidentally puts on a magical ring and gets dragged into a fae realm where three dukes are competing for a crown, a Wild Hunt is looming, and somehow she ends up falling for the one man she absolutely cannot have... and that man is Lachlan Cathal.

A giant fae knight with "abilities", multiple piercings, tattoos, a filthy mouth, and an absolutely devastating case of being down bad... I never stood a chance.

Charlotte was easy to root for. She's smart, curious, funny, and refreshingly practical considering she's suddenly dropped into a magical world and informed she'll be hunted by fae nobility. I loved that she never lost her sense of self, her love of art, or her sharp wit no matter how chaotic things became.

HOWEVER

Lachlan stole this entire book.

This man spends most of the story trying to be honorable while simultaneously looking at Charlotte like she's the answer to every question he's ever asked. Watching him slowly lose that battle was incredibly entertaining and had me giggling. Every protective moment, every jealous moment, every "I should not want her" moment just made it worse for him.

Which naturally made it better for me.

The romance absolutely carried this book for me. The tension builds slowly, the yearning is excellent, and when things finally start happening... well. Let's just say Sir Lachlan's previous professional experience was very apparent. 😏

I also loved the worldbuilding. The three territories felt distinct, the Wild Hunt concept was fun, and there were so many little magical details that kept the world feeling alive.

My only reason for not rating it higher was pacing. There were stretches in the middle where the story slowed down enough that I felt myself wanting things to move a bit faster. Not enough to lose me, but enough that I noticed it.

Either freakin way, I was INVESTED

And can we please talk about Aowen?

Because every time she appeared I became more interested in her story. Her friendship with Charlotte was one of my favorite parts of the book, and by the end I was desperately hoping she'd get her own happily ever after.

Overall, this was whimsical, romantic, occasionally filthy, and full of exactly the kind of yearning that makes me stay up way too late reading.

Quotes That Got Me

"You were supposed to be my next chapter, Charlotte."

"I love you. Deeply. Irrevocably. Pitifully. I swear I tried to stop."

"I don't need magic to find the other half of my soul."

"I'd let you break it a thousand times more for the privilege of knowing you."

"You were supposed to be my next chapter."
(Yes, it gets two mentions because I am emotionally unwell.)

Thank you for the chance to an acr from the author 😊

From 50 pages in i knew i would love this book but I love it from the beginning

It starts off with a man who can't find the... the spot lol
a promised engagement that falls through and a heartbroken fml takes a chance after putting on a ring at find love in a new world well she dose not have much choice live or die consequences and a knight who will promise to hunt her down if she ran

The world build was lovely i felt like I was in the otherworld

The characters development was so enjoyable each person was detailed and deliver uniquely it as if they lepted of the pages.

The ml was just so perfect who dosent want a tattooed ,periced 7ft , fae, with fangs and a drity mouth or mind

I loved how it all came around was well delivered as events unfolded past mets furniture and once allied it helps complete the story as it needed to thank god for that hea

I was a little disappointed when she had 3 suitors all along i was routing for the knight in white armour

i wouldn't change anything about this for me it was perfect I will defo be rereading and recomming

Bridgerton meets the fae realm? Say less.

This book gave me absolutely everything I wanted in a romantasy. Charlotte Fitzroy is entering her seventh season without a proposal—something practically unheard of in high society. She's spent years being overlooked, judged, and made to feel like she isn't enough, but what I loved most about her was that she never compromised her self-worth to fit everyone else's expectations.

After a heartbreaking discovery sends her spiraling, a twist of dark magic lands her in the Otherworld where she's given the chance to become Queen of the Fae. The catch? She must complete three impossible tasks, reassemble an ancient relic, summon the Wild Hunt, and survive being hunted by three powerful Fae dukes who intend to claim her as their future queen.

The problem? She doesn't want any of them.

She wants her bodyguard.

And Sir Lachlan Cathal had me kicking my feet and screaming.

The romance in this book was everything I love—angst, tension, longing, stolen moments, impossible choices, and enough emotional yearning to physically hurt. The chemistry between Charlotte and Lachlan was phenomenal, and watching their relationship develop against the backdrop of political intrigue, dangerous magic, betrayal, and an impossible quest had me completely hooked.

This story is packed with:
🖤 Found family
🖤 Political intrigue
🖤 A quest-driven plot
🖤 A quiet, tortured MMC with a dark past
🖤 Slow-burn tension
🖤 Touch-her-and-die energy
🖤 The one horse trope 😏
🖤 Fae courts and deadly bargains
🖤 Emotional devastation

And that ending? I was openly sobbing through the last 15%.

The world was immersive, the romance was beautiful, the stakes felt real, and Charlotte's journey from overlooked wallflower to a woman determined to choose her own future was incredibly satisfying to watch unfold.

This is easily one of my favorite romantasy reads of the year and a book I'll be recommending every chance I get. If you've ever wondered what Bridgerton would look like if it collided with a fae realm full of dangerous magic, deadly hunts, political scheming, and far more tension, this is the book for you.

Thank you to Grimm & CO and the author for the ARC!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 Stars | Hunted by the Fae Duke

I picked this up expecting a fun fae romance and got absolutely wrecked by how addictive it was.

Charlotte Fitzroy is an easy heroine to root for—awkward, overlooked, and completely out of place among society's expectations. When she's pulled into the dangerous world of the Fae and forced to compete for a crown, she has to survive deadly challenges, court intrigue, and a very inconvenient attraction to her bodyguard, Lachlan.

And listen... Lachlan was HOT. The strong, protective, quietly obsessed bodyguard energy? Elite. Every scene with him had me kicking my feet. He's the perfect balance of honorable and absolutely feral when it comes to Charlotte, and the chemistry between them practically melted the pages. The tension was delicious, but once this book decides to lean into the romance, it does not hold back.

This is easily one of the spiciest books I've read in a long time. If you're looking for a romantasy with a little spice, this is not that. This book showed up with a mission and committed to it. Yet somehow the romance never felt overshadowed by the steam because I genuinely believed in Charlotte and Lachlan's connection. Charlotte's sarcasm, insecurities, and determination made her feel incredibly relatable, while the Wild Hunt, fae politics, and high-stakes competition kept me glued to the story.

Tropes ✨
🖤 Bodyguard romance
🖤 Fae romantasy
🖤 He falls first
🖤 Forced proximity
🖤 Deadly trials
🖤 Court intrigue
🖤 Touch her and die
🖤 Protective MMC
🖤 Wild Hunt
🖤 High spice

If you like your fae books dangerous, your heroes obsessed, and your romance unapologetically spicy, add this one to your TBR immediately. 🔥🖤✨

First and foremost, thank you at Kris for letting me read this ARC before release day! Which is today!! Yayyy!!🥳🥳

I absolutely loved this story. These standalone series have been absolutely amazing! I wasn't expecting anything less tbh.
Our FMC, Charlotte is starting off the season thinking she was going to be betrothed but things end up taking a turn and although she is still getting betrothed it ends up being completely different than what she expected. I loved that we got to see her growth throughout the book.
Charlotte and Lachlan are everything! I laughed, I cried, I kicked my feet like a little girl, giggling. I wasn't expecting the emotional turmoil this put me through. Although, i should've known since it is a forbidden love situation.
THE SPICE 🥵🥵🥵🥵 OMG.
I would personally love to be worshipped on an altar. 😂😂
Then our side characters! Vesper and Aowen were my favorites. They're badass tooo! I loved how it became a found family type of thing between them all. It was really sweet.
Overall, this was an amazing book, you should definitely add it to your TBR hehehehe trust meeee!

"Because tonight, we are not Lachlan and Charlotte, the silly fools who can’t keep their hands off each other. Tonight, we are master and plaything."

Much like Lachlan and Charlotte, I could not keep my hands off this book. After a series of bad luck, Charlotte finds herself fighting for not only a husband, but also a crown. She thinks she is up for the task, but her very attractive bodyguard seems to have other plans.

*Spoiler, the bodyguard has a filthy mouth. You'll love it just as much as I did!

A must read dark romantasy!

I absolutely devoured this book. Give me Bridgerton vibes, but make it fae, fantasy, and deliciously spicy? YES PLEASE. I ate this one up.

At this point, I’m convinced the Immortal Hunters collection can do no wrong because every single one I’ve picked up has been a five-star read for me, and Hunted by the Fae Duke was no exception.

The world was so immersive, with that perfect blend of high society glamour, dangerous fae politics, and magical fantasy goodness that made me want to stay in this story forever. Charlotte was such a fun FMC to follow she was determined, easy to root for, and willing to fight for what she wanted. And Lachlan? EXCUSE ME. I loved that he wasn’t just broody and dangerous but he also had this softer, unexpectedly swoony side that completely won me over.

The chemistry between these two was fantastic, and yes… this book absolutely brings the spice.

And can we talk about the plot twists?! Just when I thought I knew where things were heading, this book said absolutely not. I had so much fun with this story from beginning to end.

If you love romantasy with fae, court intrigue, magic, spice, and that addictive I can’t put this down energy, definitely pick this one up. I’m officially obsessed with this collection.

I am loving this Immortal Hunters series !!!

This one is giving Bridgerton but you might die, and honestly? I’m obsessed.

Charlotte Fitzroy goes from seventh social season disaster”to accidentally kidnapped into the Otherworld in about five seconds, and suddenly she’s competing to become Queen of the Fae.
But to earn the crown she has to:

Summon the Wild Hunt by rebuilding an ancient relic
Charm three deadly, beautiful Fae dukes who want her and the throne
And not fall for her tattooed, pierced, morally questionable knight‑bodyguard, Sir Lachlan Cathal …. lol good luck with that !

It’s dark, it’s seductive, it’s twisty, and the tension is feral. If you want a romantasy that bites back, this is it.

Kris!!! I did not sign up for this emotional trauma. Or maybe I did. But holy hell I devoured that!!

Lachlan and Charlotte stole my entire heart. He is the ultimate book boyfriend. He’s so sweet and he pays attention. I love that despite his past, he blushes a lot and gets shy. Because who doesn’t want a tall tattooed pierced former pleasure dom knight who blushes. Charlotte is also phenomenal. I love the strong and determined she is. She gains a ton of confidence through the story and I love it! The world building was immersive and I felt as though I was experiencing through my eyes. The Otherworld feels so beautiful. The ending was a plot twist, but I was pleasantly surprised. I cried at the end, but the epilogue made up for it. I need more of this world immediately.

Bridgerton fantasy feel

This was really good. The book takes you through so many feelings. The bodyguard trope. Oh my damn! Lachlan has a dirty mouth and knows how to take care of charlotte. I absolutely enjoyed this book. You get some mystery, spice, yearning, and a quest. I was terrified this would be a sad ending and thankfully it was a HEA

This book was so so much fun. I forgot I was even reading. Chapter 36 will live rent free in my head for a long time 🥵 and Lachlan is perfect. I didn’t know I liked redheads but here I am feral for this man.

I did not expect this book to make me emotional but here I am with tears streaming down my face. That ending 😭

I was not expecting to cry first thing in the morning but here we are.

Thank you Kris K. Haines for allowing me the opportunity to read this early with the eARC! Hunted by the Fae Duke’s official release date is June 4, 2026.

I’m a huge fan of the Memory Puller series, I was instantly intrigued when the author announced a Dark Romantasy standalone perfect for fans of Bridgerton, but set in a world like that of The Cruel Prince. Which was exactly the vibe of this book upon reading it.

The story follows Charlotte Fitzroy, who is about to begin her seventh season without a proposal. When magic lands in the Otherworld, she’s offered the chance to become Queen of the Fae. To claim the title, she’ll have to find the three missing pieces of an ancient relic to start the Wild Hunt and charm the three Fae dukes who will fight to claim her and become King. But during this time, she grows closer to her bodyguard, the handsome and chivalrous knight Sir Lachlan Cathal.

I instantly loved Charlotte. The author introduces us to the character in a clever scene that immediately makes us understand her wit and passion. And paired with sweet, intense, secret dom Lachlan? Sparks flew! The thing about Lachlan is that he was such a well-rounded and honest MMC that it felt like I was in his mind even without having his POV. But I also loved the friendship with Aowen and the clever little pixie Vesper. Speaking of Aowen, I wouldn’t mind reading more about her and the surprising match she finds.

As for the plot, there was hardly a dull moment and surprised me at every turn. Just as I thought I had everything figured out, something would happen that would chance my perception of the Dukes. The Wild Hunt chapters were particularly exciting and filled with twists. When I finished the book, my emotions were all over the place. The path to the ending made me tear up.

Here are the tropes!
- Princess x Knight vibes (except she's a 27 yr old outcast socialite and he's a former pleasure dom)
- Forbidden romance
- Only one bathing chamber
- “Use me"
- Seduction practice
- Feminine rage
- Courtly intrigue during a very murder-y social season
- BDSM + Biting + Butt stuff

Rating 4.5⭐️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (6 stars, I said what I said)
**I received this ARC from the author Kris K. Haines for my honest review, thank you!**

This was an ARC and I am already preparing my campaign to annoy everyone I know about it.

THIS is how you do trials.

Every challenge felt interesting and genuinely unpredictable because would our FMC succeed? I never hit that point where I was checking how many pages were left and wondering if we could wrap this up lol I was invested the entire time.

Charlotte is officially one of my favorite FMCs. She doesn’t sit around feeling sorry for herself. She just accepts that she’s been thrown into absolute nonsense and immediately starts figuring out how to survive it. I loved her. I loved that she stayed witty and kindhearted and still didn’t take any sh*t.

And Lachlan?

Ladies.

Friends.

People of the jury. 👩🏻‍⚖️

The SECOND this man came onto the page, I knew I was cooked as the kids say.

We’re not talking book boyfriend. Forget that. We’re talking book husband. As in put a ring on it right now please and thank you very much.

Protective without being overbearing. Strong without constantly reminding everyone he’s strong. He respects Charlotte, lets her fight her own battles, and steps in when she actually needs him. He also respectfully disrespects Charlotte 🫠🥵 I am still unwell.

ALSO.

He wears slutty little glasses.

He has pierced ears.

He has tattoos.

HE HAS A LIP PIERCING!!

Did I mention he’s a Fae Knight?? WITH RED HAIR???? My gods. Someone call 911 please.

I would like the author to explain why she felt the need to attack me personally. 😮‍💨

The three dukes all felt completely different from one another, which made each of their realms interesting to explore. The worldbuilding was immersive, the magic was fun, and I immediately wanted to know more about basically everyone.

And then there’s Vesper.

Tiny. Feral. Unhinged.

Spent half the book calling Charlotte food in different terms of endearment and somehow became one of my favorite characters.

Magic. Fae. Trials. Fantastic characters. An elite book husband. A tiny creature who may or may not be planning several crimes.

I finished this book standing and clapping like a seal.

Read it right now. 👏🏻

ARC Review

“I knew you were going to break my heart the moment you arrived in the Otherworld.” He takes my hand, places it upon his own heart. “I’d let you break it a thousand times more for the privilege of knowing you.”

Thank you very much for the author for sending me an early copy of her book.

This series!!! This book!!!
Oh my lord, I had such an amazing time reading it!
I loved, loved, loved it! I’m just completely under the spell of this read and it is so hard to form coherent thoughts and write this review. I wish I could read it again for the first time!

This is the fourth book in the Immortal Hunters Collection and the third one I was fortunate enough to arc read.
Miss Kris K. Haines let me start my review with thanking you from the bottom of my heart for creating this book and bringing these characters to life! I had the best time of my life reading the book and I won’t stop recommending this to anyone!

The story was exciting, fun and perfect. It’s a Bridgerton inspired fantasy world with the most amazing characters.
I loved the scavenger hunt and actual hunt scene to determine who will become king at the end!

The FMC Charlotte had the most amazing character development in the book. She had very little confidence in herself and by the she had transformed to badass, unapologetic queen who will never let anyone make her feel less or unimportant. She was funny from the start and so loveable.

The MMC Lachlan was the most enticing male lead I’ve had a pleasure to meet in a while. He was not a perfect man (fae- thanks god for that) and I loved learning about her back story and instantly fall in love with him. Every time this man has opened his mouth I couldn’t stop giggling, blushing and my heart ached for him.

The side characters were nothing short of amazing too.

There was banter, found family, feminine rage, delicious yearning and an even more delicious fae main character…
Everyone should read this book and I’m sure I will read it again!

Okay listen, Charlotte encounters three impossibly gorgeous dukes and needs to win their favor. But the noble knight tasked to protect her? Sir Lachlan Cathal has sl*tty glasses, is tattooed, and is pierced. At that point I had my mind made up but was eager to see who Charlotte would choose 👀.

I was living for the heated chemistry and snarky banter. This tale is whimsical, heartrending, and oh so k!nky! I loved seeing Charlotte embark on her journey of self discovery in all aspects.

Brimming with adventure and delicious spice, this is a Bridgerton but make it Fae romantasy standalone you won’t want to put down!

I knew from the very first teaser of this book it was going to be a hit with me, but I wasn’t totally aware of just HOW MUCH of a personal love this would be.

🦋 He falls first
🦋 Forbidden love/romance
🦋 Strong female characters
🦋 Y E A R N I N G
🦋 “Fated” mates
🦋 Good girl praise 😭

This book had EVERYTHING for me. I saw it advertised as a “Bridgerton meets Cruel Prince” premise and this is exactly what drew me in.

Honestly, s**ew you George. No one likes you. Lachlan is permanently on my list of book boyfriends and tbh right now I think he’s sat at the top because by GOD that man can yearn 😭😍. My hand was clutched over my mouth, eyes wide almost as much as I was kicking my feet back and forth giggling over the pure yearning obsession this man/fae exhibits… I quite literally could not.

This book for me held its pace from the very beginning right up until the very end. I didn’t find that I struggled to connect to characters, that things weren’t fully fleshed out, nothing was rushed etc. The whole book had the same pacing so nothing felt rushed or dragged out. I would absolutely LOVE to get more on Sabre and Aowen, I absolutely adored their characters and could read a whole book on them themselves (alongside Sabres past, he seems like such an interesting character and I think I’m just as enamoured with him.

There is so much I could say about this book and its characters, but I am very weary of spoilers so I will just scream FIVE STARS and be done with that.

Thankyou so much to the Author, Kris, for an early ecopy of this book to read and review - I said I stayed up late the first night it was sent out to make sure I got it and could start reading because I was so excited 😂.

This was such a fun read! Everything about it just worked for me! The plot was engaging and intriguing, the characters were interesting, and the romance was top tier. It was quick, easy to digest, and packed with so much emotion and yearning.

The only thing I wasn’t completely sold on was Desmond’s fate. Killing him off felt a little harsh and anticlimactic. He didn’t get a ton of page time, but I really liked him and thought he deserved a bit better than what he got.

And THAT ENDING😭 I had a few theories floating around, but that was definitely not one of them. I am an absolute sucker for a memory-loss trope, and this one hit me right in the feels. Part of me wishes we’d gotten to see them fall back in love a little more, but I also loved the mystery and hopefulness of leaving it open-ended.

What really got me emotional was how fiercely they loved each other and how they ultimately knew it was time to let each other go. Meanwhile, Lachlan never gave up, and honestly, I knew he wouldn’t. That man was down bad from the start. The ending almost gave me Monsters, Inc. vibes, and that made me love it even more.

Kris K. Haines knows exactly how to write a compelling romantasy with heart, tension, and all the yearning I could ask for.

Hunted by a Fae Duke by Kris Haines is the second ARC I’ve read in the Immortal Hunters series, and wow… these books are absolutely god tier. Between Demon’s Vow and this one, I’m convinced this series exists solely to destroy me with book hangovers and live rent free in my mind forever. ✨🖤
I absolutely loved the world building in this book. Humans live in one world while the fae reside in the Otherworld, and the contrast between the two felt so immersive and magical. Our FMC Charlotte is suddenly transported to the Otherworld to compete for the crown and prove herself worthy of becoming Queen by winning over the Fae Dukes.
Charlotte was such a fantastic FMC. She’s sassy, outspoken, and never afraid to say exactly what’s on her mind, but she also struggles with self-doubt at times, which made her feel incredibly relatable. My favorite part of the entire story, though, was her friendship with Aowen. Their bond was EVERYTHING. 🥹 The found family/sisterhood vibes between them were so beautifully written, especially toward the end.
And Lochlen… excuse me while I swoon forever. He may not be a shadow daddy, but he is THE fae daddy to end all fae daddies. 😮‍💨✨ I loved the balance between his cocky confidence and his softer side. He had me hooked from the beginning.
This book was pure perfection from start to finish, and the last 100 pages had me absolutely feral. I could not put it down. Just like Demon’s Vow, I may or may not have devoured this book in less than two days. 😅
Now the real question is… when is the next Immortal Hunters book coming out?! 👀📚

I absolutely loved this standalone! Portal fantasy with Bridgerton vibes, a quest and forbidden love had me hooked the entire time! I loved Charlotte and her attitude and how she handles everything thrown her way. She is such an easy character to relate to! The second she meets Lachlan I was a goner! The tension between them oozes off the page and the edging had me highly anticipating the spicy reward 😉! My heart broke for them both at different points and the way the ending all came together had me smiling so big! It was perfect!! I also must mention Aowen because she was a fav side character and her building romance was adorable (I would not be opposed to a spin off with them, just saying)! The pixie, Vesper, had me constantly cracking up with her food comments (iykyk)! If you are looking for a standalone with the perfect combination of fantasy and romance, this one is a must!!

✨Forbidden romance
✨Quest
✨One horse
✨Wound care
✨“I have you”
✨Edging and spice

“I want to know the truth of you. Even the ugly bits.”

“Say the word, and I’m yours.”

“Disrespect my wife again and I will rip out your intestines, then use them to fashion you a new cravat.”

“I don’t need magic to find the other half of my soul.”

“I knew you were going to break my heart the moment you arrived in the Otherworld. I’d let you break it a thousand times more for the privilege of knowing you.”

Thank you to author Kris Haines for the ARC in exchange for an honest review! Another installment in the Immortal Hunters standalone series that did not disappoint!

I instantly loved Charlotte, a misfit in her high society family who just wants love. Her connection with her grandmother was extremely similar to my own, and I love the little tidbits of lore we get about grandma!

Don’t even get me started on Sir Lachlan Cathan 🤤 What a hottie, honestly. Absolutely incredible spice, by the way. 🌶️ 🔥 The love story was my favorite part of the book!

I really enjoyed the element of mystery as Charlotte searched for the ancient fragments and learns more about this fae world and politics along the way. There were some really intense moments, especially toward the end!

From the moment I began seeing the art for Hunted By The Fae Duke, I just knew… this book was going to be HOT. Here’s the thing though, it kept getting hotter and hotter every time author Kris K. Haines shared something new. Knock out levels. It’s for this very reason I chose this specific meme for my review because like the art, the book just kept getting hotter the more I read. I was blushing, I was swooning, and then I was taking on some emotional damage LMAO. Holy forking shirtballs, friends, what a story.

Charlotte, our FMC, —oh my goodness, I loved her. She’s funny, witty, and loves deeply. She was always trying to be selfless and think of others over her own needs even if it’s not what she truly wanted. I love how Lachlan picked up on this and uh, let’s just say it came up at some very steamy times. She tried so hard to deny those feelings too lol.

Lachlan, our MMC, who knew a fae could speak in such ways and also still have the ability to blush??? You would never know without it being written as such and I am here for it!! He was a man down BAD. And when he said Charlotte was supposed to be his next chapter??? The EMOTIONS I was feeling. I can’t say much more on this because spoilers, but like… l just have to commend Kris K. Haines again even though I was already in her DM’s doing so lol.

Anyway, the chemistry between Lachlan and Charlotte is off the charts, they match each other’s energy SO well. I was obsessed with it even. I loved the supporting characters in the story too and would totally read a book about two of them in a little spin off if it ever came into existence 😆.

Thank you so much for the eARC!!! I had a blast reading Hunted By The Fae Duke and I cannot wait to get my hands on a physical copy!

Overall I am giving this book 4/5 stars for its beautiful romance, adventure, and overall wonderful writing. The FMC journey focuses on what I believe every young woman wants…. to be loved, chosen, and a wife. The reader is able to follow her journey in discovering herself, the type of love she needs, as well as how to love others. The book also includes a man that yearns for his women and as I’ve stated before that is the MMC energy I love to read. Each character has their own development and the ending is beautiful with the FMC having an opportunity to end her old life and start anew. Overall story 4/5. Romance 4/5. World building 3/5. Spice 5/5. Character development 4/5. Highly recommend reading this book! Looking forward to reading more by this author!

ARC Review

FOR MY FAVOURITE 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩

Excuse me while I go sob uncontrollably.

I loved this story so much. I didn’t want it to end!

The letter granny Maggie left for Charlotte, ugh, my heart. I wish she was there to see the seer’s vision come to fruition.

Aowen and Vesper!!!! I love the power of women friendships!

I immediately need a dark haired version of Lachlan! Anyone know if he has a long lost cousin?!
What an amazing MMC Lachlan is! I could read about him forever.

CHARLOTTE!! Girl is just putting on whatever ring comes her way and I’m so glad she did! Her character development was incredible.
