My Opinion
A Perfect Devon Pub is the second book in the Brambleton Series but it could be read as a standalone. A light-hearted read, ideal for a summer evening. This was a book that had me hooked from the beginning as it was such an enjoyable read.

My Opinion
A Perfect Devon Pub is the second book in the Brambleton Series but it could be read as a standalone. A light-hearted read, ideal for a summer evening. This was a book that had me hooked from the beginning as it was such an enjoyable read.

This is the second book in the Brambleton series, a small seaside village in Devon. Each book is a standalone story but characters from the first book reappear in this one.The Smugglers Inn, run by Rose and George is the main focus of this book.
Fiona is a sommelier from London; after failing her sommelier exams, she and Rueben (her boyfriend and business partner) take some time off and spend some time in Brambleton. Rueben surprises her, but after she perceives he betrayed her, she decides to stay in Brambleton and Rueben goes back to London. She stays with her Aunt Ivy, who was in the first book.
Needing a job, Fiona starts waitressing at the pub, but is surprised when Rueben turns up. With his popularity, bookings increase, so another member of staff is employed. However, when wine starts to go missing, fingers get pointed in several directions. How can Fiona prove her innocence?
I am binge reading my way through this series and book 3 is already downloaded.
Whilst the books in this series are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and wider storyline; each book is a standalone story so they can be read in any order.
When I've finished this series, I will definitely be reading more books by this author.

This book is actually book number two from the lovely Brambleton series but can very easily be read as a stand alone without any problems.
A Perfect Devon Pub is a wonderful Summer romance and is such a light hearted, cosy read, heartwarming and full of emotions too.
It was definitely a page turner and it very easily pulled me into its pages right from the very beginning and it did not let me go again until i had turned every last page!
Fiona escapes for a fresh start to Brambleton and finds work as a wine-waiter at a little village but very busy seaside pub!
I loved this book and found it to be really fast paced, it was full of community spirit and after i had read it i was left with a very happy heart and a warm and cosy feeling too…….

A page turner escapist book which had me hooked from start to finish. It is a lesson in food/ restaurant culture and wine pairing. It is a blend of food network and a romantic comedy.
Fiona, a sommelier, is in a relationship with celebrity chef, Ru. A combination of personal and professional issues caused their breakup. They both wound up working together again in a dreamy Devon pub.
This is my first book from the author and she has just gained a new reader. There was no dull moment. All of the characters were amazing and Fiona’s vulnerability was dealt with humanely.
I love the wine lessons and the insights into how restaurants and pubs are run. The description of the Devon coast was so good that I want to visit.
I love the flashbacks of Ru and Fiona’s relationships. This book will make you feel all the feels.
If you are looking for an escapist summer read then you should read this.

Fiona and her boyfriend are visiting her aunt in Brambleton when he proposes, Fiona is full of sudden doubt about their relationship and herself. Needing a fresh start and stays in the village and finds a job in the local pub where they appreciate her vast wine experience and studies for her sommelier exam. When the pub hires a new chef, her fresh start is put under doubt.
I think reading this book we can all see a bit of ourselves in Fiona, a knockback denting her confidence and that making her doubt all aspects of her life, including her relationship with her boyfriend Reuben. The fresh start she thinks she needs isn’t all it’s cracked up to be when her past catches up with her, and once again makes her question her decisions. Through the book you can see that Fiona’s believes her worth is only based on her success, that you are cheering for her to realise this is not true and that she has the love and support despite that.
The setting of the pub and the group of characters we meet give a real sense of seaside village community. Each character bringing a different dynamic and a reminder that sometimes there is more to life than success, we have to live too.
This is a cosy, light-hearted heart-warming read, great for summer.

The second in the Brambleton series, A Perfect Devon Pub is my favourite to date.
Brambleton is a charming little village on the Devon coastline and I'm gutted that it's not real...I'd love to visit The Smugglers Inn though, wouldn't you?

Found the book incredibly dull, a lot of similarities to the last book. The side plots were all off putting and distracting, would have liked to see more of the characters mentioned in the first book and village life.

The storyline is frustrating at times although self discovery and establishing love wins through heart warmingly. The who dunnit element also adds intrigue to the story.
