With trouble once again brewing at Tonae's school, it's up to Guilt-na to again go undercover and solve the mystery. But who is the devilish god of death who has appeared at Mitsuhachi Academy to hunt down souls? And what business does he have with Guilt-na-Zan?
These later volumes are definitely the stronger ones for this series. This volume comprises of just one story about a classmate of Tonae’s and without spoilers, it’s as lovely as the origin of Vincent’s name is.
Even the ending is sweet, and I can understand why I never bought volume 6 as this ending is nice. I love the animal bat axe - so kawaii. I just hope the final volume ends as well as this one does.
A girl at Tonae's school is possessed by a shinigami (reaper who failed to take her soul and instead merged with her to fulfil her dying wish) - Kyoji sends Guilt-Na disguised as Tonae to find out what's going on. It turns out that the Shinigami and Dune have a history....
This is an overcomplicated story where everybody is somebody else it seems! Guit-na-Zan is trapped in the body of Guilt-na who pretends to be Tonae Dune is a some kind of demon masquerading as a school boy The shinigami is trapped in a school girl Vincent was a bat And the bat axe had a spirit that has become a human who seems to have a past with Kyoji.
My head is spinning! The main reason to read this is the artwork - I must say the design & costume of the shinigami is a goth dream. STUNNING. the characters are fun, but this is definitely not the best story in the series. I liked the Dune/Shinigami flashback but wasn't over impressed with the rest.
As usual the story isn't quite long enough and there's pages and pages of random non sequitur style bonus comic strips that I absolutely hate. Artwork is lovely as ever but I really want more narrative and less dumb random comedy.
Enjoy this series. Of course trouble is arising again at his school and Guilt-na has to figure out what is going on. There is a new god that has shown up and he is looking for Guilt-na. Part of this volume has to do with the new God and Dune. I like the part with Dune and showing his past.
