Hunting down Mira was supposed to be a simple assignment. She thought she could disappear—cover her tracks, hide behind false names and small towns—but I found her, and I intend to drag her back, kicking and screaming if necessary.
But getting Mira home isn't easy. She fights like a cornered animal, desperate to escape the secrets she's hiding. Her defiance ignites something dark and possessive inside me, something that threatens the cold control I pride myself on. The longer we're together, the more I realize Mira isn't just a job—she's an obsession.
If I don't deliver Mira safely, innocent lives hang in the balance. But the deeper I get, the harder it becomes to choose between duty and desire. Losing Mira isn't an option, but keeping her might just cost me everything.

This couple was so cute from the first page. Rurik is sent to retrieve Mira for the Volkov's and he does not think this will be difficult until he has to battle Mira's will and determination of not returning with him. They embark on a journey and at times it's comical and other times it's smexy times on steroids. At some point the lines become blurred between captive and captor, and things take a very hot turn from there. I love this series so much! ❤️
I'm addicted to Ms. Stone’s mafia-themed books, and this is one addiction I'm not prepared to give up. The story was intense, intriguing, and full of danger. Throw in humor and romance, and you have the complete package. I liked Mira and Rurik’s characters. Yes, they had flaws, but don't we all? To me, it made them all the more believable. Mira led Rurik on one heck of a roller coaster ride, and I loved going along with them.
Rurik is the quintessential Russian Bratva enforcer that I love. He is my ideal anti-hero: strong, silent, protective, and dangerous. Rurik craved Mira’s submission, but she made him earn it. He was sent to track Mira down and bring her home to safety. Finding her was not hard, but keeping her safe was challenging, especially when she didn't take the risks to her safety seriously. Mira fought Rurik, so what's a man to do but resort to a bit of kidnapping? I admired how Rurik didn't give up on Mira even after she gave up on herself and felt unworthy of his love.
Mira sometimes frustrated me as her impulsive behavior threw herself into harm's way. Being on the run and living on the edge will do that to a girl. Mira was no shrinking violet and was not intimidated by Rurik despite his size, although she should have been. Mira was a witness to her boyfriend's murder and was on the run from his killers, who somehow thought she was now responsible for repaying his debts. Mira was full of guilt and secrets, making her reckless and putting her in danger. She didn't think she was good enough or deserved Rurik’s love.
This book was a smooth transition from the previous book in the series, which is not always the case. The secondary characters played an essential role and added depth to the storyline. The narrative was enticing and caused tingles long after you had finished reading it. This book kept me entranced until the end, and I was left wanting more. Once again, I will try to wait patiently for the next book.
Mira left everything behind. She only trusts one person, her friend Megan. When a stranger enters the bar, she knows she needs to run. Rurik has been watching the little beauty from a week. He has been ordered by Alexander to bring Mira back. At every turn Mira pushes him but she also tempts him. She is also hiding a secret about her ex-Nico. I have to say the secret isn’t such a big deal when you find out. This is all Mira feeling the guilt of all the going on with her BFF Megan in the middle. With Megan safe with Alexander, she feels like everything is her fault. I was honestly in tears when she kept all this guilt inside. Rurik, isn’t family but close to it with the Alexander. He maybe the one doing the dirty work but he is still held high. I do love the fights these two get into. Mira just keeps letting her mouth go with no filter. I can understand the tick he keeps having. There are lots of funny parts and some seriously sad ones. I wanted to hug Mira tight and tell her everything will be ok. She would never suffer her parents fate. We get introduced to Ivan, Kaz, and Lev. There defiantly is something going on with Ivan and Vivienne. They aren’t just boss and employee at the club Obsidian. Looking forward to reading about what happened to her from the end of this book.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review
Mira Pierce is on the run from Mafia family since her now-deceased boyfriend was killed after drugs he was running were lost or stolen, leaving her "owing" $50,000 to them...she's been paying through her friend and roommate Megan, but still can't go back to her normal life. Megan's husband Alexandr Volkov, tasked independent contractor Rurik with finding and bringing Mira back to town...and he's been successful, as been watching her for couple of weeks while she is working at diner and dive bar which is under-the-table work, but after caught in bar fight, and taken to hospital, Rurik steps in to take her back home...but Mira is like a wildcat fighting him, not trusting that he is actually trying to help her...he's impressed with her resilience in the face of danger and her loyalty to her friend Megan...deciding marrying her will take the pressure off her by Italian Mafia family...if she will only comply...but you will need to read this delightful story to see what happens...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.
Ok there really has to be more than five stars which I will only use in extreme circumstances. I thought Gregor and Hannah (Veiled Treasure) was the BEST couple, but Rurik and Mira just tied it. Rurik is alpha upon alpha and Mira is sassy, sarcastic, loyal, and seems to always have trouble find her. A perfect match. Rurik was sent to find her and bring her home. Mira managed to get under his skin and into his blood very quickly.
Be sure to clear your calendar when you start reading because you'll want nothing to bother you until you're finished with a satisfied feeling of love, contentment, and a wish that men like Rurik really existed. We ladies all have a Mira inside of us. Sit back and enjoy the journey the couple go on. You'll laugh, want to yell, feel happy and excitedly look forward to the next book in the series. This is a great beginning to a new series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
To protect her friends and family from an outrageous debt to a violent mobster, Mira has disappeared and determined to work extremely hard to cover the outstanding debt. But, on Alexander Volkov’s orders, Rurik has been sent to find Mira and bring her back home. She is unwilling to believe his story, ensuing some difficulties.
Mira tries really hard to fix the problems she believes she has been implicit in. When Rurik comes to save her, she has never heard of him or Alexander, therefore she does not believe his rescue attempts are genuine. The more he tries to help her, the more of a mess Mira makes.
The more Rurik interacts with Mira, the more he comes to understand her motives. Mira’s fire and determination unexpectantly triggers a dark and possessive part of Rurik’s nature that he had never experienced before. Will they eventually find a way to overcome their differences? Will Mira come to desire Rurik as much as he desires her?
Mira has left everything behind and trusts only her friend Megan. When a stranger enters the bar, she knows it’s time to run. Rurik has been watching her for a week, ordered by Alexander to bring her back. Mira resists him but also finds herself drawn to him. She’s hiding a secret about her ex, Nico, which turns out to be less significant than her overwhelming guilt related to Megan’s situation.
It’s heartbreaking to see Mira carry this burden. Rurik is close friends with Alexander, and he commands respect even as he does the dirty work. Their confrontations are engaging as Mira speaks her mind freely, which understandably frustrates Rurik. The story balances humor with emotional depth.
We also meet Ivan, Kaz, and Lev, while hinting at a deeper connection between Ivan and Vivienne at the club Obsidian. I look forward to discovering what happens with her by the end of the book.
This was such a great book to get lost in and escape from reality for a bit. Mira and Rurik are such great characters. I adored them both. Mira is on the run from Marco and Detective Calloway. Rurik is tasked by Alexander to bring Mira home. Her sass and feistiness have Rurik addicted to her. And the chase is on. The story is a perfect blend of spice, suspense, mafia shenanigans and sexy. I really liked how it transitioned so smoothly and flawlessly from the previous book to this book. Mira just endeared herself to me. Her loyalty and selflessness came at a cost to herself. Rurik is so fierce and protective when it comes to her. But being dependent on herself for forever, she can’t help but not listen to him. She gets her in some delicious trouble lol. I just enjoyed reading their story very much.
This story gives you more of the details surrounding the drama with Marco. And you get a front row seat to Rurik’s domineering personality. What he says goes, objections he damned. And Mira seems to constantly be objecting about something. But she just can’t help herself. He’s like a magnet to her. And she really doesn’t want to be separated from him. They have great chemistry together. She may be fiercely independent, even to her own detriment, but she craves submitting to his will. There’s plenty of action throughout their story and it’s definitely going to continue in the next story. And I can’t wait!
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Another yummy Mafia story with amazing heat and steam. Mira Mira Mira....running away and thinking that they family wont find you! GIRL!! I mean I might run away if Rurik was going to chase. *Wink* LOL
Mira and Rurik were a fun and explosive story to read. They were definitely worth every page turn. Rurik had his hands full with Mira and her lack of self love/self worth. But Rurik did all he could to keep her safe even when I wanted to throttle her for making dumb decisions. GIRL...STOP ALREADY!!
This is the second book in the Vicious Sinners series and I could not put it down! It’s related to events in the first book but you can definitely read it as a standalone. Rurik is hired to bring Mira home. She’s on the run, stressed by financial pressure from unsavoury folks and is feeling awful about herself. As Rurik starts closing in on Mira, her fight or flight kicks in and Rurik loves a chase. These two are my new favourite Measha Stone couple—he’s pretty unhinged, she’s a survivor & loyal to her own detriment. I loved how Rurik was her steadfast person & how he eventually wins her trust & helps her heal. Great story, love the characters.
Prepare to be caught up in a deeply intense romance! I was caught from the first chapter in Mira and Rurik’s story! The sparks between the two are incendiary and Mira may be in denial of it because of her past experience which landed her in her current mess. I love Rurik’s obsession with Mira’s mess between a police detective and a mobster, and his attempt at persuading her to admit to her need for his obedience. Yet with Mira holding on to a secret which she could destroy everything in her life if she doesn’t fix it, how will it all end? You have to read to find out and don’t expect to put the book down until you turn the last page as no good place to stop!
Rurik is on the hunt for Mira, who is on the run from an Italian Mafia baddie. These two are fire together. Mira isn't someone who backs down from a fight, but Rurik isn't going to let her get away with anything. These arguments often lead to punishment and make up smexy times. Their back and forth could be quite funny and I found myself laughing out loud at times. There are more baddies than just the ones after Mira and they're both caught in the middle of a mafia war that could explode at any time. These two are so good together and I loved their HEA.
Well, hello, Rurik 😈 This man loves control, and he isn't afraid to hand out punishments when Mira steps out of line.

Mira has disappeared to protect her family and friends from the consequences of her mistakes. Mob boss Alexander Volkov hires Rurik to track and safely return Mira.
𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮.
At first, Mira is just a job to him, but after spending time with her and getting to know her, he starts to fall hard. Now that he has her, he's not letting her go.
I read most of this book with a smile on my face, Mira was such a delightful character. Taking the weight of the world on her shoulders, Rurik wants to protect her against the world and herself. We learn more about the Volvo brothers and catch up with Megan. It is a fast paced story with some really hot scenes, more than one problem to be solved and a lovely ending with a peek at Ivan and Vivienne’s story. A wonderful, not to be missed story.
Second in the series -- definitely a page turner. It was great to see the other side of Megan's story from Devious Secrets where her friend, Mira, is mentioned. So now we get Mira and Rurik's story. She was a package delivery that turned into so much more. She got into so much trouble trying to save Megan, but Rurik had her back and made sure she stayed safe. I liked their relationship, I believed in them, and I believed in their HEA. Ready for the next installment.
Another great read by Measha! I so enjoyed both Mira and Rurik. Rurik was tasked with finding Mira and bringing her home….which he did by kidnapping her essentially. The story takes off from there and is filled with enough action, steam and funny moments. Mira had a lot of sass to her and had an answer for everything. I so enjoyed her character. Rurik is over the top possessive. A very enjoyable read! .
Rurik is sent to find Mira, but when he does find her, things take some crazy turns. These two have intense chemistry together, and after everything they go through, they are so good for each other. This is an action packed Mafia romance with the perfect blend of danger, suspense, and steam. The ending was the cherry on top. Devious Madness is book two and a great addition to the Vicious Sinners series, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Loving these men of Vicious Sinners. Alpha, obsessed, loving, and protective. Yes, please. I flew through this book just like the first one in this series. Now I need to know the stories of all of the others guys and the women who tame them. Boy, let me tell you, Rurik is sexy as hell and a tracker who gets what he wants. Swoon, fanning self. Rurik and Mira were perfect for each other and the ending was fantastic.
Rurik and Mira couldn't be more different, and yet, that's the way their story goes. Oil and vinegar blended into a fine combination of heat and heart! Mira is doing what she thinks needs to be done to protect her family and friends, just as Rurik is doing his job and trying to reign her in. I thoroughly enjoyed their witty dialogue and watching their romance bloom! So adorable and sexy!
Rurik and Mira's story was told in such a way that it captivated me right from the start. Mira is on the run and has secrets that she's hiding. Rurik needs to bring her back at all costs. Super addictive!
Mira and Rurik are one perfect match of madness. This two are like cat and mouse one running and the other giving chase. They made a perfect couple when they get their act together. I’m loving this series and hope there will be to come.
I was so excited to get Mira’s story. She is so strong and resilient and it was awesome to see her let someone in and help. These two might not have seemed like a match at first but they are what each other needed. Happy reading.
Story 3.75⭐️ Spice 3🌶️ After all of the mistakes in the first book, I didn’t have high hopes for this one. I was pleasantly surprised, though. Good story, fewer mistakes. On to the next one!
Mira has been in hiding since her boyfriend tried to steal from a mafia drug lord only to end up dead for the attempt but the debt doesn’t die with him instead falling to her to pay it, which she does by working hard at cash only jobs until the circumstances change… There is no one Rurik can’t find so when he is asked by Alexander to find his wife’s friend..Rurik accepts and in quick succession he locates Megan’s missing friend and bring her back…but Mira isn’t going to make it easy even tied up and on a long road trip, there’s complications.. Loved the humorous banter between these two and the intense chemistry made this a must read for me..
I adore this couple! Mira is willful and independent without coming across bratty. Rurik is a jack of all trades and helps out the volkovs when it suits him. He comes to bring Mira home after being on the run. She does her best to turn his priorities and plan on their head. So good!!
