The final chapter in the Abram's Daughters series and, by far, the best book of the 5. I couldn't put it down. I was so anxious to find out what happened to Leah, and if things would finally come together for her and Jonas. The story wraps up neatly, but not without some heartbreak, confession, reconciliation and forgiveness.

I found the absolutely rigidity of the Amish faith interesting. I also found it interesting that people in different localities, all who consider themselves Amish, could live and worship so differently. I found myself frustrated that the Bishop held so much power over his people, even when his decisions seemed contrary to Christ-like behavior.

Beverly Lewis has captured a glimpse of the Plain people so completely. Her characterizations are terrific. As I've said before, her prose is plain and concise, but not simple. She says what needs to be said, and she does it so well.

I definitely recommend this series. It was one that I hated to see end.

What a great end to a series!

I think any sort of conflict that a family could have, it was somehow incorporated into this series! Not as predictable as her other series. I like being kept on my toes.

Side note; if I had to do a family tree for these families, wow, it would be kinda hard/crazy/very related to one another.

It's been a while since I read the first four novels in this series, but I still found The Revelation to be enjoyable reading and a fitting conclusion to the Abram's Daughters pentaology. It actually illustrates an age-old proverb very well: "Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive."

This book concluded the story of the Ebersol and Mast families, everything coming together and all secrets out in the open.
First and foremost, Leah and Jonas are finally married. As a matter of fact, by the end of the book they have twin boys and living at the Ebersol cottage. Abram and Lizzie are now in the Dawdi house. It was a long time that Jonas and Leah waited to say their vows...Jonas had to have a Proving for six months, being he went away to Ohio, away from the church he was baptized. Bishop Bontrager and it turns out Jonas’ father were trying to postpone the couple from ever getting married. But the Bishop dies in a carriage accident during a snowstorm and Leah stops the horse in Peter’s moving carriage while he’s passed out drunk so these events change everything. The Bishop that replaces Bontrager is more lenient. The feud between the Ebersols and Masts is mended when Peter wakes up with a hangover in the Ebersol cottage and realizes he could have killed Leah, who was able to stop his moving carriage with only a fractured rib.
Jake and Lydiann end their courtship when they find out they are actually Aunt and nephew. Lydiann is told this by Sadie and Leah. But she breaks the secret and tells Jake. Jake goes to Dr. Schwartz to tell him if this secret is true, and the doctor tells him of the events when he was born. When Peter and Fannie Mast hear the truth, that their baby boy was born dead and replaced with Sadie’s baby, Peter makes Jake leave the house and Jonas goes with him. They stay with Eli Yoder, a man from Ohio who had come with other men and boys to hopefully meet Lancaster Amish women. (There has been too much marriage of close relatives and babies being born with birth defects.) Eventually when Abram and Peter straighten out their misunderstandings, Peter apologizes to his sons and Jake moves back home. Peter also stops his problem with alcohol.
Hannah is pregnant and depressed. She is obsessed with the pow wow doctor and thinks the old woman helped her. But when she dies, Hannah goes to see her grandson who maybe can help her become a healer. Gid is against this, as he has been reading more of the Bible, along with Abram. Eventually Hannah sees the wrong in this type of witch craft and apologizes for going to see the “healers.” She has a baby girl, and eventually will have a boy.
Sadie is happy the news is out that she is Jake’s biological mother. Sadie and Jake meet and they come to know each other. Jake’s biological father, Derek Schwartz, is killed while in the military. Jake will see him, but at his funeral. The doctor and his wife open their lives to Jake. But eventually the doctor retires and him and his wife do missionary work in other countries. No charges are ever brought against the doctor for giving Fannie Mast Sadie’s baby. Sadie and Eli Yoder from Ohio marry and stay in Lancaster.
Lizzie tells Leah who her biological father is since Leah will be married and it’s time the secret is told to her. As I guessed, it’s Dr. Schwartz. He probably doesn’t even know Leah is his daughter since Lizzie was dressed as an Englisher with short hair during her wild rumschpringe days.
Throughout the book, the Ebersol’s are known to be very religious, going above and beyond what the Amish were known to believe. Mary Ruth and even Lydiann become Mennonites. Mary Ruth married Robert Schwartz who is a preacher. Lydiann will marry Carl Nolt, the adopted son of the Nolt’s, who took in Mary Ruth in their home. It’s strange how the Plain Amish people didn’t know Jesus except in a certain amount of scripture. But maybe eventually, at least in the Ebersol and their extended families, Jesus is known to be Lord and Savior.

This book gave a marvelous ending to the 'Abram's Daughters' series! Beverly Lewis is a wonderful writer. I appreciated so much how she showed what lasting love really is. The love story was tender and glorious, and the reader can feel the depth of the character's passions even though the book is sqeaky clean. (This was so refreshing to read after having read the more descriptive romance that occurred in 'Twilight.') I bought the series after I was done reading it. I'd love for my daughters to read them and have some of those same ideas in their heads about romance and love.

This was the best book in this series! I finished it yesterday. I loved it because it wrapped up all the loose ends. This series was great, and it really surprised me what happened sometimes. I would think that one thing would happen, but then something totally different would happen instead!

This fifth book wraps up the series rather nicely. The rest of the secrets are revealed, at least to select characters. Couples, for the most part, get their HEA, but maybe not in the expected way. There are deaths and births, which makes the book more realistic. There is a reconciliation between members of the community, and some leave the strict order while others adhere to it. Beverly Lewis tells an interesting story, and does well with character development. However, the contrived nature of at least three of the families in the series left me wondering what a family tree would look like. As a character in Tamar Myers’ novels said once, “There is so much intermarrying, I am my own first cousin.” This novel wasn’t quite that bad, but it came close. Still, it’s definitely an engrossing series, one that you will want to see through to the very last epilogue.

It had a cute ending and a good final book. But...

1. I'm not sure how I feel about the whole 'revival' plotline. It's a nice though, sure, but I doubt it was accurate at any time.

2. That father reveal for was really anti-climatic. We've been waiting 4 1/2 books for that. :/

3. The lack of Jonas/Leah at the end. We've waited this long so a chapter dedicated to them won't bother us.

4. I don't appreciate mind games that are obvious and there were a lot of obvious mind games.

Recommended 14+ for romance, scary situations, theology, drinking, and people being stupid.

Again, I know this series is not really compatible with my standard reads, but I just came to love these characters. Of the books in this series, I have to say that I enjoyed the first and the last. In this last book everything comes together - I personally was left feeling that everything was "as it should be" with the family. It's a fast read, and actually quite interesting in terms of the subject matter.

I started this book series a couple years ago when I had nothing to read at my grandma’s house and found these books in a closet. Randomly decided I wanted to finish the series this summer, I like how simple the characters’ lives are which makes them comforting to read :)

The Revelation is the final chapter in the Abram's Daughters series. A very suspenseful conclusion, I must say! All secrets came out in this book, including one you may have already suspected but will still be shocked to read. We see how deceit and lies of one person can effect the lives of an entire family or community. When Jonas and Jake return home, they're essentially kicked out of their home by their dad. He has so much hate and animosity in his heart that his life has spiraled out of control. All because of hidden secrets that are now being fleshed out in the open.

Jake and Lydiann are both coming to terms with the fact that they will never be able to love each other as a couple. It's this turn of events however that open new relationships between Jake and his birth mother, Sadie. For Sadie, it is the answer to her prayers and is mending the ache that has been ever present in her heart. A void she thought would never be filled is mending with the power of revelation and her heart is finding a peace she never thought would be possible. She's also finding love again in a widower and finally, all seems to be well with Abram's oldest daughter.

Things are still up in the air for Jonas and Leah. The bishop of the district has taken an immense dislike to Jonas and the Ebersols and he is determined to do what he must to keep them apart. He has made Jonas' return and "Proving" period to be much longer than deemed necessary by anyone in the church district. The Proving is a time period for wayward church members to transition back into the fold and prove they intend to stick to their commitment to the church. He has decided to make things difficult for Jonas and you may be shocked to find out why that is. And even more surprised at the slightly tragic solution to this predicament! I won't say how everything wrapped up as to not spoil the story, but you won't be disappointed!

I loved the conclusion to this series. I truly did! I was especially giddy over how things turned out for Sadie. Though she was not the main character in this story, I was really rooting for her! Honestly, the Ebersol family felt real. They had good times and a lot of bad times but at the end of the day they were still a family who loved and cared about one another. As I knew I would though, I am a little sad that the series is over but I also look forward to picking up another series by the very talented author, Beverly Lewis

WIIA: This person whoever it was LOL explained it best! ''Conclusion to the series spanning three generations in a quaint Old Order Amish community. A story of love, faith, and second chances featuring five courting-age sisters and their extended family that is both heartrending and uplifting'' Although in this last book they all are not "courting age" any longer.

Pros: It was an adorable ending! It ended exactly how I wanted to!! You just have to read. I cried happy tears at the end.

Cons: It was a long way coming to get to this ending :) Worth it though.

Iffy: Adult\teen romance. lots about "white witch doctoring" in here, but she is a Christian soo all clean things. However it was more than any of the other books. BTW white witch doctoring is an amish way of doing things that some amish do and some don't, it was a sort of conflict thing in this book for some characters.

ABOUT THE SERIES: Big books that you love, warm family, secrets, Christian, romance, heartache, sadness. Please read!

The conclusion to the saga about Abram’s Daughters brought answers to several with disappointment, pain, anger, forgiveness and a fresh start depending on the character. This has been a wonderful series to take the time to reread from Lewis.

I was soooo happy to get to book 5! I started it the same day I finished book 4, because I was excited to see what would happen between Jonas and Leah. I was happy with lots of things that happened in The Revelation.

This series is worth reading. I like that we could see different viewpoints within the same religion (cause that happens all the time) and also see mutual respect and love you can have for those who chose a different religion. I liked that people that make terrible mistakes can find redemption. I like seeing the sacrifices one makes for those they love. That is true romance for me. And if you are doing God's will, He will make you happy about it. That's a mystery & miracle for me, but its true the way that happens.

Book number five & the final one in the "Abram's Daughters" series
was excellent like all the rest--always something happening.
Jake & Jonas Mast have been living in Ohio but Jonas comes back home.
His father & the bishop seem to be trying to prevent him from seeing
Leah and eventually marrying her. He is forbidden to marry for six
months while the bishop decides if he's going to lift the "sentence"
on him. He is being watched to see if he walks the straight & narrow.
Then Jake returns home to the love of his life but all hell breaks loose
when he's told something he doesn't want to hear from Leah & Sadie
which also causes his girlfriend to discontinue seeing him.
That's all I'm going to say because I don't want to give any spoilers to
this detailed book. Very good!

The final book of the Abrahm's Daughters series finds Leah reunited with Jonah, but will he survive the harsh Proving to be reinstated as a member of the church and be able to finally marry Leah? Sadie has found peace through her faith, but will she ever find love and the family she longs for? Dr. Schwartz continues to struggle with his long buried secret that will effect the entire Ebersol family if revealed. Lydiann continues to struggle with her feelings for Jake, but knows they cannot ever marry. Hannah and Mary Ruth are reunited and allowed to visit freely with one another, but will it be enough to life Hannah out of her troubled state?

A satisfying end to a great series! I don't know why it took me so long to read it!

I'm glad I read this to round off the series, but there were some things about it I found unsatisfying. The subplot about Hannah's interest in hex doctoring seemed to have some foreshadowing that never paid off, like the passage where Mimi - the only one of Hannah's children to have been cured by a hex doctor - reacts badly to her father praying aloud. Peter Mast's sudden reconciliation with the Ebersols after being rescued by Leah from a drunken predicament also felt too pat.

But the most irritating thing to me was that the pacing is off, which had not been the case with others in the series. The book drags on for a full quarter of its length after everything is resolved. The epilogue at least should have been cut entirely, I think.

Physical/audiobook (Hoopla) - Leah and Jonah finally get their hea in this book. Jake learns of his blood parents and relatives which causes drama in the Mast household. Lydiane and Jake sadly have to stop their buggy rides and marriage plans with the revelation that they’re aunt/nephew. The Mast and Ebersole families reunite after years of harsh feelings towards each other. Sadie and Elli get married also rounding out all of Abram’s daughters having a husband of their own.

Love Beverly Lewis’ Books

This series was full. Amazing to see how Beverly incorporates scripture and the fervency of need for closeness to the Lord. I always like the epilogues at the end that tie up the questions longing in your brain about the characters yet it still leaves you hanging on to there lives. I always feel when I read her books I am getting to know new friends and our meeting during my reading gives more time to get to know them always sad when the books are over. I would recommend these books to anyone they are truly a joy to read always five stars for me for Beverly Lewis! God Bless.🙏🏻⚓️😊

What a great ending to the story. Jake knows that Sadie is his mother. Peter Mast kicks Jonas and Jake out of the house after he finds out that Jake is an Ebersol. Lidyann and Jake are heartbroken when they find out they cannot marry because they are too closely related. Jonas and Leah's story is a dream come true. Especially when they are blessed with twin sons. The Masts and the Ebersol's have come together after their long period of Pater having angst against Abram and his family. Just so many twists and turns to the story. This author definitely keeps the story moving right along. I love reading her Amish stories. They live a very interesting life.

Now comes the revelations of those dark hidden away things the sisters thought would stay hidden forever but in order for things to be right all the wrongs need to be freed and the let the healing and love come back into these sisters lives.
I loved this series and I couldn't wait to read each book as I found them. I found one of these books only by chance at a nursing home visiting my aunt others I bought at thrift stores and book store and one on my Kindle but I loved each one.
Please I encourage you to read and enjoy the Ebersol family saga.
As usual these are just my thoughts and I encourage you to read and enjoy. Happy reading y'all☺
