Ε, κάτι κάναμε κι εμείς!

Θα είναι χρήσιμο να εξηγηθεί εδώ, με λίγα λόγια, σε τι κυρίως αποβλέπει ο συγγραφέας αυτού του βιβλίου με τις αφηγήσεις του. Αποβλέπει, όχι τόσο στο να προσθέσει γεγονότα στα τόσα που έχουν αφηγηθεί άλλοι για την Αντίσταση στη διάρκεια της Κατοχής και κατά την μετακατοχική εσωτερική αναταραχή, όσο στο ν' αποδώσει το κλίμα εκείνων των καιρών. Γι' αυτό ακριβώς επέλεξε τις κατάλληλες για το σκοπό αυτό αναμνήσεις του. Ελπίζοντας, έτσι, ότι θα προκαλέσει τη συγκίνηση εκείνων, που έζησαν ή και έδρασαν τότε, των όσων επιζούν, και το ενδιαφέρον των νέων για την πολυτάραχη εκείνη εποχή.

In this short book, Greek comedic playwright and screenwriter, Asimakis Gialamas, recounts some of his experiences during the German/Italian occupation of Greece, in WWII and the years that followed. The whole book is very interesting and easy to read, but the most interesting parts are the ones where he talks about the process of putting on a comedic play, during the occupation, the importance these plays had for the occupied people, who needed to see their hardships parodied and the difficulties of working as a leftist journalist during these years, as well as the years after the war.
