The summary of this story is a little misleading. If you’re expecting high-stakes, heart-pounding drama… don’t. What you’ll actually get is a kinda cute office romance with a sprinkle of family issues and a random “mafia” side quest that feels like it wandered in from another book.

Nothing remotely juicy happens until about 91%, and even then, the conflict is solved so fast it gave me whiplash. The “Mad Daddy” storyline dragged on forever just to be wrapped up with a weak apology like, “Oops, my bad”? Sir, you used your daughters for cheap labor and you’re mad you can’t anymore? Be serious.

I just thought it would be a little more chaotic. Instead, it cruised along in neutral the whole time

Now see, this one right here? It was giving soft love with a small side of family drama, and I was here for every page!

Kaos… whew. This man might be big, powerful, rich, and fine enough to have you forgetting how to spell your own name, but when it came to Serenity? He was a whole teddy bear in a three-piece suit. They worked together, and he wanted her bad, but of course, they had that whole no-fraternization policy.

But let’s be for real: why would that apply when Kaos was the one who helped create the rule?? 🤨 Like sir, just go ahead and revoke it because the way he was looking at Serenity, there was no HR policy in the world strong enough to hold him back!

From the very beginning, Kaos was intentional. He poured into her with patience, affirmations, and a calm kind of care that will have your knees weak and your heart melting. Serenity tried to keep it professional, but chile… when love like that is staring you in the face, resistance is futile.

Now, I’m not gonna lie, I was waiting for the messy drama to pull up. Like where’s the cousin with the vendetta? The cartel cousin? SOMEBODY start some mess 😭. But guess what? It didn’t need it. This story thrived in its simplicity. It was just a damn good love story, one you can cozy up with and get completely lost in.

💭 Final Thoughts:
Sweet. Romantic. Intentional. Objection is that soft love we all dream about, the one that comes with comfort, clarity, and a whole lot of care. And Kaos? He’s in my book bae top 10 for sure.

Read this one when you want something feel-good with just enough heat and a man who knows how to love out loud.

Kaos is Him

✨ Kaos Montgomery stole the show for me. Once he set his sights on Serenity Monroe, he was all in no games, no hesitation. He respected her, gave her space, and loved her fully, even when her family wasn’t supportive. The conflict with her father wanting her to stay close and invest in his dreams instead of chasing her own added real emotional weight.

⚖️ I adored how their love story unfolded. Kaos didn’t play about Serenity, and the way he stood firm for her dreams made their romance feel powerful and affirming.

💭 My only wish? The conclusion felt a bit quick, especially with Kaos’s mafia ties and how those threads wrapped up. I wanted more development there. But knowing this is part of a series, I’m excited to dive into the next installment.

🌟 Overall: A passionate, layered love story that left me wanting more. Kaos and Serenity’s dynamic is unforgettable.

OK...I had high expectations for this book. I am not sure what I was looking for, but it didn't give me what I needed. Something was missing and I just don't know what. Just when I thought it was going to pick up it would die back down. When the Ex was harassing her I just knew he wasn't going to give up. Then the uncle would make a threat and then not follow through. Why was he even the mob boss anyway if he couldn't stand on his threats. Then there was the ex she showed up and then she made that claim and I was like ok, now were getting somewhere. But it didn't go anywhere. She was dumb, how you not gonna make sure the man didn't have an alibi? I was able to get through it but I was glad when it was over. It had potential but it didn't hit the way I wanted it to.

This was such a sweet romance. Sickeningly sweet at times lol. The way that Kaos cherished her & poured into her, and her dreams. The way he could tell when she was about to get lost in her head and he was able to validate her and communicate with her. As a chronic overthinker it was beautiful to see. And I loved that she made intentional efforts to try to push through her insecurities and overthinking to allow that man to love on her generously and properly. Despite the conflict with her father (who was being a brat), and some leftover mafia business for Kaos, this was an otherwise very low tension read.

Objection was a cute, short read that gave me a quick escape. The chemistry was fun, and the vibes were there… but honestly, I wanted more. The story felt like it wrapped up too quickly, leaving me wishing for deeper character development and a little extra drama to really pull me in.

If you’re looking for a fast, light read, this will do the job, but don’t expect it to linger with you long after the last page.

Absolutely love when a super fine, strong, generous, and intelligent man claims the perfect woman for him and is not afraid to communicate that determination to her. Kaos is THAT man.

He and Serenity are perfect for each other. When MPWG, his Law Firm, puts a NO Fraternization roadblock in his way of pursuing Serenity, Kaos hurries up and kicks that bad boy down. He does not play about Serenity.

Love the Play on the Title of this Book

Koas had his eyes on Serenity for 3 years until he went for who he wanted, which was her. Loved how their story played out. Loved how Koas didn’t play about Serenity (or her sister). I ain’t gone lie Koas uncle scared me when it came to his demands. B. Love always does her Big 1 with her books!

GOOD READ

Great storyline and character development. I loved Kaos and Serenity's workplace dynamic, but to finally reveal the crush they've had on each other made their workplace relationship even better. Kaos was not holding back when it came to Serenity. He was determined to show her all the things he's capable of doing and giving as her man. There was no objection to what these two can accomplish as a power couple.

what a mannn😝

Baby I loved me some Kaos and Serenity! That man applied so much pressure but it was the intentionality and calculated movements. While I was annoyed by Serenity’s father, I’m glad she didn’t give into his guilt trip and the same for Kaos and his uncle. Their love was everything!🥰

I was more invested in the work/mafia side than the love story and it’s usually the opposite for me. The ending felt a little rushed too.

I really wanted more action from this book. Don’t introduce the MMC as someone belonging to this major crime family (yes, he’s gone legit now) and not have him bussing some heads. Especially the slick mouth uncle who keeps threatening him straight to his face.

This story follow Kaos our MMC who is a partner in a prominent law firm in the city. He was “allowed” (as the head of the family, the uncle, keeps reminding us) to leave the mafia and go legit as a lawyer. The uncle then wants Kaos to represent a man who if he gets off for the crime will team up with his familys organization to elevate their businesses. Kaos refuses because the man caused harm to a woman and Kaos has hard rule for who he represents and he strict on it, no crimes against women and children.

During all of this Kaos and his executive assistant Serenity forms a relationship and it’s intense. As he puts it, he’s “tender on her”. He knew from the moment he saw her she would be his wife. For about 70% of the book we have Kaso and Serenity building their relationship. It’s super passionate and intense and beautiful. Serenity has issues with her father and is reluctant at first to believe a man’s love can be this passionate and real as her own father has shown her this.

The only piece of drama happens around the 80% mark of the book where the uncle then teams up with Kaos’s ex to make the deal go through anyway. Wrong move, because this woman tells vile lies on Kaos when she is rejected by him, naturally, causing all kinds of trouble for the uncle and then some. But, that was it. That was the drama. There are more books in this series as interconnected stories. I’m not sure if I’ll finish the series.

This was a pretty good story from beginning to end. The cover picture and synopsis had me wanting to read this story. I loved me some Kaos and how he loved and affirmed Serenity when she needed the affirmations. They were cute together and I loved that he made her feel safe enough to submit to him. I also liked that she chose herself and her peace over giving into her father wanting her to stay home. I also liked that Serenity was open to a relationship with Kaos once they decided to cross that professional line despite her fear of getting hurt like in her past relationships and even with having daddy issues. I loved that Kaos wasn’t willing to compromise on his morals and boundaries when his uncle came calling.

There was mention that there would be more to come with Kaos and Serenity in one of his law partners’ story and I wish the partners would have been included more to create anticipation and buildup for the next story.

I loved this story from.start to finish! Talk about families being total opposite, Serenity and Kaos families couldn't be more opposites.
Kaos family was part of the Mafia, but his parents were far more supportive, loving, and caring than Serenity's or at least her controlling father.

Thankfully, Serenity was strong enough to leave and fund what makes her happy, she worked.for Kaos at his law firm, and they had instant chemistry. Kaos showed Serenity what love could be with him he was open and honest! Serenity was just as attracted to Kaos and finally let her guard down, though at times ahe couldnt get get out of her own way.

Kaos and Serenity friends were rooting for them , especially Tristan

In the end, their relationship grew, and Serenity's family became involved in her life. I can't wait for the wedding!

Kaos and Serenity, Love in the Office

I love everything about a mature love and this book gave all of that!!!…
Serenity broke free from the grips of her father to follow her own dreams without regret!!!…Truth moment was the realization everything her mother sacrificed for her father dreams and knew that’s not the direction she wanted to go!!!…
She set out on her own and was gainfully employed by a prestigious law firm and her appetite for a real connection lands her in the hands of Kaos!!!…
Kaos, a man that knows what he wants and goes after it!!!…Presistent, but very patient!!!…He stood 10 toes down and with Serenity when her father’s disrespect was turned on her!!!…
Now that uncle is gone, what storm awaits this crew!!!…
I can’t wait to see what is next for this tribe!!!…

Not what I expected

The description made it seem like this would be a gritty, mafia love story. It’s really just a simple workplace romance. The conflicts were resolved with no real drama. The issues with the Dad were like an afterthought, he’s mad at his daughters wanting their own lives!? Then after nearly 3 years, he miraculously wants to apologize and move on because his wife didn’t cook him thanksgiving dinner?! Also what kind of mafia boss is the Uncle. He had no control of anyone and no morals. The twist with him and Mason in a shooting due to a lie just didn’t fit the story. Overall the story and pacing was a let down.

Bag of Trix

Clearly my two months sabbatical from “B. Love” reading books wasn’t long enough 🤦🏾‍♀️‼️”Objection”(3.5⭐️’s) & the characters Kaos & Serenity could have been a better read with more adequate plot development. Unfortunately, this book along with many B. Love characters & book’s aren’t defined & or misrepresent their intent. You can’t be all things to all people all of the time. Even for a fictional environment, the characters just do to darn much. The storylines are not entertaining rather boring, disjointed & obnoxious …I’m frustrated by the repetitive character bag of trix 🤷🏾‍♀️‼️

Great Story

As alway B Love brought the drama and the love. I loved that Kaos was so gentle with Serenity but I think two years of patiently waiting someone out was a lot to ask of a true love connection. I know as women, we tend to think women are always the prize but clearly kaos was the prize. I believe you could have done a little bit more character development on some of the others supporting characters like Serenity friend, Nessa, and her sister Taylor, also Kaos friends and law partners had blank faces. No characters really, just names. The story however was good, but this author is usually a lot less monotonous.

decided to DNF it; it wasn’t a bad book just ultimately not the right pacing for me. everything felt rushed, lacked depth, and the MCs love felt more like an insta love than a true build up after years of them both having feelings for each other. it had an opportunity to really dive into the mafia side of the story more as well as the unforbidden aspects of an office romance. instead within a few chapters they’re flying to Greece and Kaos talks about her being his wife. additionally the “spicy” scenes lacked detail and honestly could’ve been left out for how little they added to the story. again, not a bad read just not what i anticipated

kaos montgomery is a lawyer with a past, serenity monroe is his executive assistant, and their professional line gets blurred when feelings start to grow.
the synopsis made me think this was going to be heavy on mafia drama, but it was a little misleading. while there were touches of that, the story wasn’t nearly as wild or drama-filled as i expected. it actually read more like a cute little romance with a few side quests.
i did enjoy kaos and serenity’s relationship, their chemistry worked — but the side quests left me feeling a little impartial. i just expected more tension to really carry the story.

2 🌟

My first book by this author and unfortunately I didn’t like it .

This was insta love downnn , no plot & there was a time jump every other chapter. I don’t even remember what year or month we started off at.

They moved so fast I blinked and they were saying I love you & moving in together.

I did enjoy khaos and how giving he was and serenity always saying yes is so REAL , I never understood when the girl acts all cutesy demure like …. yes actually give me ALL your money 😽.

Also saying their love was forbidden when that was never even an issue in the book was eh. The most forbidden thing about this was the mafia stuff no shadeee.

Kaos is my man! The names fit them, Kaos and Serenity! They stole each other's heart.
Kaos and Serenity were the perfect balance for each other. I had much respect for him as he denied his uncle the opportunity to mussel him into going against his morals and peace. He left that mafia life, PERIODT!

Loved the growth of Serenity as she maneuvered a life of her own, despite her father's cold and stubborn snub of her. She stood her ground, which led to her finding a great job and the man that stole her heart.

No one was going to disrespect Serenity nor her sister Taylor, as long as Kaos had breath in his lungs. That included their mean ass daddy.

Enjoyed this read and didn't want it to end.

No Objections

I don’t hand out five ⭐️ reviews often. This book was all about standing on business and creating boundaries and peace. The only chaotic thing about Kaos was his feelings in a positive grown man way. Serenity didn’t even know this man was in love with her with all the time he spent with her. Serenity being honest about her views on marriage was something I appreciate because I think a lot of women feel this way when they have seen unhealthy relationships. Definitely check this out, I promise there will be no objection.😉

Mature dating 🌶️🌶️

Talk about Work place romance with no drama.. Kaos was a man on a mission to capture the heart of his exec assistant Serenity now she was a just as smitten but loves her job and wants to keep it so she doesn’t want to blur the lines when I say this was a mature love the way they communicated and poured love it this relationship accepting each other for who they are…the drama in this book was more family issues than outside influences but Fedora made a show of it and was dealt with quickly can’t wait for Tristan’s book

Kaos and Serenity!!

I really enjoyed Kaos and Serenity's story. I love a good workplace romance and B did her good one with this book. Kaos was romantic mixed with gangsta, and I loved that for Serenity. He didn't play about Serenity as her ex found out the hard way. I was glad that Serenity accepted everything about and from Kaos. Their love story was so beautifully written that I didn't want the book to end. I can't wait to read Tristan's story which will include Kaos and Serenity's wedding.

I liked this book, because it was true romance and not so much drama on every other page. The synopsis is a bit misleading, because although Kaos was apart of the Mafia, there was very little Mafia business being made. This was more of a workplace flirtation that turned serious. It was a good read, but honestly a bit cheesy. LOL still cute though because they were both honest and mature with their love for one another. The ending said there would be another book focusing on Tristan. What would the name of the book be called?

If you’re looking for a drama free, cute and to the point romance, this is for you.

The cover and description would make you think it’ll be a lot more going on than it is. While I enjoyed that the book wasn’t full of drama, I do think it left much to be desired. I feel like we were thrust right into the romance, I would have loved a little more build up.

There was also a slightly strange pacing of the story, it was constantly skipping to a few days later, a week later etc and it was just a bit off. Also, a lot more telling than showing and I feel like a little bit of action was tacked on at the end which caused it to feel rushed.

Again, not a bad book at all. Kaos was a sweet man and didn’t have a bunch of baggage. Just feel like there was a lot of potential that wasn’t tapped into.

Can family drama keep a couple from true love?

Kaos is an attorney whom when we meet him has stopped being the enforcer for his family, the mafia. Serenity escapes the strangle holds of her father's desire for control in her life to begin a new life in Rose Hill Valley. Serenity meets Kaos while being his executive assistant at his law firm. Three years later after they are both single, their flirtatious banter lands them on a trip in Greece where spiciness begins.

Will this couple survive the outside unwanted wants & needs of their past to begin a forever future?

A complete story. Kaos went after what he wanted and definitely applied and kept the pressure when it came to Serenity. Really liked the growth and maturity from Serenity and how she embraced life on her terms which was an example for Taylor. The incident with Alpha was surprising and Walter (Serenity and Taylor’s dad) came to his senses even though he is a piece of work. Now is something going to happen between Taylor and Tristan; would a story about the other partners Zander and Carson.
