Thank you to NetGalley and author Prabha Karan for the opportunity to read Cherish or Perish.
This is my honest review of the ARC I received and I truly appreciate it!

🧠 My thoughts while reading & some inner discussions that I had with myself (that was FUN!) 🧠

🧠 Chapter 1: I couldn’t fully agree with the idea that every action affects your body. Life is unpredictable, and genetics aren’t something you can control with intellect alone. That concept felt a bit too rigid. The book explores life after death through the “subtle body,” which is intriguing, but without scientific backing, it’s hard to accept unless you’re religious or spiritually inclined. Reincarnation is a major theme, and while many people want to believe in something beyond death, it’s a concept that invites skepticism when not supported by research. The idea that every thought shapes your reality felt exaggerated — if that were true, we’d all be living perfect lives. Sadly (or maybe thankfully), reality doesn’t work that way.

🧠 Chapter 2: Yes, people act on impulse sometimes, but ideally, decisions come from intellect and analysis - if someone’s emotionally mature. I liked the author’s emphasis on personal responsibility, but I wish there was more nuance. Fate, illness, and other people’s actions aren’t always within our control. I’ve heard similar ideas from psychologists, and while I get the intention, it can feel invalidating - especially when someone blames your health issues or toxic relationships on your own choices. That’s not always fair.

The idea that indulging in desires is a waste of time? That didn’t sit right with me. If reading brings me joy, is that a waste? I don’t think so. The claim that success is always meticulously crafted also felt off. Sure, discipline matters but luck, privilege, and connections play huge roles too. Social media algorithms, viral moments, and access to resources can make or break someone’s success. It’s not always about effort alone.

Still, I agree that the mind is chaotic and needs guidance from intellect. That part resonated. And yes, discipline is key but it’s not a new idea. The notion that peace comes from eliminating desire reminded me of something I read from the Dalai Lama. But realistically, we’re human. Even monks desire good food sometimes. To desire nothing feels impossible.

🧠 Chapter 3: The idea of never making mistakes? That’s unrealistic. Mistakes are how we grow. The constant push to chase new goals after achieving old ones and that’s exhausting. I really felt that. Meditation was mentioned as a way to calm the mind, and I fully agree. It works. The political commentary at the end of the chapter also struck a chord, the idea that elites benefit from keeping people obedient and distracted is sadly true.

🧠 Chapter 4: Yes, the world is toxic and it’s been that way for a long time. Smartphones are a huge distraction, and the system we live in seems designed to keep us tired and overwhelmed. Systemic suppression is real, and while it’s hard to fight, the least we can do is think critically. I appreciated the reminder to do your own research and question everything you see online. Truth isn’t always on the surface you have to dig for it.

🧠 Chapter 5: This chapter offered some practical wisdom. To succeed, you do need discipline, curiosity, reflection, and introspection. I agreed with most of it. I’ve had my phone on “Do Not Disturb” since 2018, and honestly, it’s been life-changing. But yes, when you’re waiting for something important, the anxiety creeps back in. It’s a cycle.

Analyzing everything around me has always been fun I’ve done it since school, and it’s helped me grow. Sadly, most people don’t take time to reflect. They jump into arguments online without thinking. But it’s comforting to know there are still rational minds out there.

🌀 Final thoughts 🌀
I genuinely enjoyed how Cherish or Perish made me think and even argue with some of its ideas. That’s a good sign. The book is built around the concept of training your intellect and relying on it to shape your life. While I wish it included more practical tools and referenced scientific literature, it still planted some meaningful seeds.

If you’ve read similar philosophical or self-development books before, this might not feel groundbreaking. But it’s a refreshing reminder to pause, reflect, and reconsider how we move through life. In a chaotic world where everyone clings to their own version of truth, Cherish or Perish encourages us to be more observant, more intentional, and maybe - just maybe - a little wiser.

Modern-day life produces a lot of distractions to thinking clearly. There are the constant pings of updates on your phone for texts, emails, social media and news notifications. There is nonstop cable news 24/7. There are streaming services that not only enable but encourage people to never stop watching.
It’s a wonder a mind can operate and think cognitively at all. But in Prabha Karan’s new book, “Cherish or Perish: Strengthen Your Intellect, Save the World,” the author lays out a clear path to cleaning the rubble in the way of deep thinking. And Karan details how this can lead to greater success in your life.
First, there’s a description of intellect and the role it plays and how you can shape it to lead to a greater destiny. Karan also focuses on the importance of goal-setting and channeling energy and determination to achieve those goals. Several examples from history are used to illustrate this concept, including Marie Curie and George Washington Carver.
In addition to success in business or your chosen field, the author also shows the role intellect can play in successful relationships and getting along with others. And Karan writes of the importance of intellect in your spiritual growth and development.
The author does not leave out the perils of not attending to developing a proper intellect either. If one ignores honest principles, it can set someone on a path to ruin by making the wrong decisions because of addiction, cheating or other temptations.
In the end, the book breaks down the route to success into easy steps: Take control of your physical routines and daily habits; thoughtfully question your decisions; pursue knowledge through a liberal education; dedicate yourself to thoughtful study and engage in a nightly reflection on the day’s activities.
If one can accomplish all of that, it seems a sure barrier to the war against the mind that modern activities and life wage against it daily. And Karan’s advice is the perfect antidote to achieving a peaceful existence. Highly recommended.

Improve Your Intellect & Life with Prabha Karan’s ‘Cherish or Perish.’

Prabha Karan, author of Cherish or Parish, is a meta-physicist/engineer who delves into what he refers to as “trans-scientific ideas” in an effort to “present these concepts in a clear, accessible, and contemporary manner.” The book’s subtitle, ‘Strengthen Your Intellect; Save the World,’ gives one a solid indication of the primary theme.

For example, Karan sets the stage my separating Intellect and Mind—the Intellect thinks, and the Mind cannot. Then a further foundation is set with this statement—“Societal forces seek to suppress, distort and weaken your clarity of Intellect and Vigour.” I enjoyed and benefitted from a book that should be consumed regularly as an ongoing Mind-Life guide. I readily found Intellectual, Spiritual and Real World Inspiration throughout what is a compact and yet full book.

He marvels at the most complex and amazing piece of engineering ever created—the Human Brain. But having one is only a small part of the battle, taming that mass into an Intellectual and Purposeful Powerhouse for achievement and Noble Change is what Prabha Karan wants the reader to achieve.

Here are some quotes:
1) “Your mind will drag you to ruin without Intellect.”

2) “The more ambitious, selfless and important your goals, the great the energy and passion your actions generate.”

3) “Most people believe firmly believe that peace and happiness come from fulfilling their desires. Sadly, this is a grave and widespread misconception.”

4) “Uncontrolled senses ruthlessly drag the Mind away from reason, and the Mind, once seized, pulls the Intellect down with it.”

There is more to learn in ‘Cherish or Perish’ than I can enumerate here, but I keep it nearby for easy access because the language and energy are uplifting for the Soul and, of course, the Intellect.

Karan’s tract is a call-to-arms for people to take back control of their lives. A rather unique self-help guidebook, this title seeks to empower individuals on how they can embrace their potential and move forward to obtain a fulfilling life.

Karan’s argument is for individuals to cultivate a strong Intellect, which is not the same as intelligence. Having a strong Intellect helps to control the Mind, the undisciplined desires, impulses and emotions that are constantly bombarding people with distracting and ultimately unhelpful thoughts and feelings. It is only with the control of the Intellect, an individual’s capacity for discipline, insight and informed intention, that mastery of the Mind is obtained and direction given.

Karan outlines the battle that humans find themselves in,in between these opposing internal forces. Indeed, with the advent of always-connected technology, modern humanity has only created a more powerful Mind-based external force that can easily distract and discourage the more introspective and contemplative needs of the Intellect. The consequences of this battle he shows in stark terms.

But he does not leave readers without a solution. He provides a well-thought out,individually-directed program for people to take back control and strengthen their inner Intellect. He is upfront about the challenges and rewards each step brings and explains them in an open-ended manner so that each step can be tailored to a specific person’s abilities. Yet these steps contain just enough specifics to help guide the start of each.

Karan’s clear and precise explanations of the concepts and follow-through of his mantra, “Cherish or Perish,” will draw readers into a well-argued and well-outlined philosophical outlook,so as to help one regain focus and control of one’s life and thoughts.

‘Harnessing the power of our Intellect’ – strength and hope for the future

Dubai author Prabha Karan is a meta-physicist, engineer, and entrepreneur, studying Causality, Creation, Infinity, Consciousness, and Self-Development. His previous books - The YOU in ME and WHO BANGED THE BIG BANG? – enlightened readers how to understand our true selves. Now in CHERISH or PERISH he continues his probing into the monumental significance and transformative power of our Intellect.

Offered in a conversational manner of writing, Karan defines Intellect as ‘the single most powerful thought mechanism within you that enables comparison, decision-making, and validation,’ and Mind as ‘a flow of thoughts that houses all your desires and all emotions, positive, and negative.’ From this quiet inception, this book explores our existence and what that truly means: ’your existence is composed of three intricately connected bodies; the gross body, engaging directly with the physical world; the subtle body, orchestrating your inner dynamics and guiding your outward actions; and the causal body, containing limitless potential and governing your journey across vast cosmic cycles.’

After an engrossing and enlightening explanation of terms, the importance of Intellect in navigating life’s complexities is enhanced by Karan’s encouragement for living a regulated and disciplined life, with thoughtful questioning of the world around us, embracing the value of understanding itself, reflection and contemplation, and making time for introspection. His discussion of surviving our toxic modern world (social media, smartphones, news media, etc.) by nurturing our Intellect reinforces the wisdom of the title: cherish and nourish our Intellect and succeed. ‘Choose mastery, choose resilience, choose peace. The power lies entirely within your grasp.’ A superb book!

I picked up Cherish or Perish because the idea that our intellect is more than raw smarts and actually something we must care for, sounded honest and needed. The book talks about intellect as a single, disciplined force that turns scattered thoughts into clear action. It’s short and easy to move through.

The thing that stuck with me was how practical the advice felt. Prabha Karan doesn’t just say “think better”, he shows small ways to sharpen how you think, how to spot when you’re being pushed around by noise or emotion, and how to make decisions with more purpose. The examples are plain and real, not fancy. I could imagine trying a few of his suggestions the very next day.

It reads like a friendly but firm coach. The tone is encouraging without being preachy. Because it’s not long, I didn’t feel overwhelmed. The chapters give you short bites to think on, and the ideas are clear enough that I kept pausing to actually apply them in little moments, like when I was about to react automatically to something and instead stopped to think.

Sometimes the same point comes up a couple of times, not a big deal, but once or twice I thought “okay, we get it.” Also, if you want hard science or heavy proofs, this isn’t that kind of book. It’s more about practical mindset and awareness.

If you feel distracted a lot, make decisions impulsively, or want to be more purposeful without getting lost in jargon, this is for you. It’s also good if you like short, usable books that push you to change habits rather than just feel inspired for a day.

I finished the book feeling clearer and a bit more determined to guard my attention. It’s a neat little toolkit for anyone who wants to think with more purpose. I recommend reading it slowly, try one idea, practice it, then move on. You’ll get more out of it that way than rushing through.

CHERISH or PERISH, on the face of it, seems like a simple concept. In the battle between Intellect and Mind, make sure you are taking care of your Intellect. However, this is only the beginning. Karan delves into what it takes to develop, protect, and nourish the Intellect. He also tells us why it’s so important for our overall well-being. Fascinating stuff!
There is so much content in this 160-page book that you will be fascinated throughout. And when you come to the end, you will want more. Here are a few examples of what you will learn:
1. Did you know that healthcare (especially pharma), the food industry, the entertainment industry, and banking & investments are all designed to attack your Intellect?
2. Did you know that “technological distractions, manipulative media, and relentless consumerism” are all designed to weaken your Intellect?
3. What about exposure to social media, smartphones, and streaming services?
As you can see from these lists, modern day society does not lend itself to keeping your Intellect intact. This is why we have to be constantly aware of avoiding all the many influences we come across that can negatively impact our Intellect.
Karan gives us many specifics on how to keep our Intellect strong. It won’t happen without consciously and constantly being aware. It is imperative that we don’t forget to be grateful. Oh, and did I mention how critical it is to maintain a strong Intellect for our future lives?
I hope by now you see how imperative it is to nurture your Intellect and the consequences of not doing it. I have only touched the surface of what Karan is trying to teach us. Grab a copy of CHERISH or PERISH and find out what you need to do to sustain your Intellect and what it means now and for future generations.

Cherish or Perish by Prabha Karan makes a strong case that Intellect is more than just intelligence, it’s the quiet force that shapes our choices, relationships, success, and peace of mind. The book points out how distractions, emotional reactivity, and social pressures weaken this power, urging readers to nurture it before potential slips away.

What makes it stand out is the distinction between intellect and raw intelligence. Through real-life examples like Marie Curie and Florence Nightingale, Karan shows how discipline, questioning, and reflection create lasting impact. At the same time, he highlights the dangers of neglect, unchecked emotions, information overload, and shallow thinking that can cloud judgment.

Some of the most striking ideas include:

- Clearing Mental Clutter: Training the mind to separate noise from clarity.

- The Discipline of Questioning: Not accepting answers blindly, but digging deeper.

- Emotional Self-Governance: Steering impulses instead of being ruled by them.

- Independent Thought: Recognising how culture and media discourage deeper thinking.

The style is clear and motivating, with practices that are simple yet effective - reflection, questioning, balancing emotions. Rather than quick fixes, the book encourages steady sharpening of the intellect.

Overall, this is a practical, thought-provoking read for anyone who wants to think more clearly, make better decisions, and find balance. It reminds us that lasting success is not just external, it begins with mastering how we use our own mind.

For me, this book presents a powerful thesis: our Intellect, distinct from mere intelligence or knowledge, is humanity’s most formidable asset, shaping not just our personal lives but the world at large. Drawing from metaphysical insight and decades of engineering and consciousness research, Karan invites us readers to recognize and cultivate this inner force as a safeguard against complacency.

What resonated with me was the balance of theory and application. The repetition of reinforcement, some things were revisited many times, which was important, but at the same time, some people might find that a bit overemphasized.
What felt less smooth was the heavy tone; the author’s sense of urgency sometimes tips into intensity. While the call to action feels sincere, a steadier, calmer tone would be better.

Final thoughts:
Cherish or Perish is a bold, reflective prompt to reclaim the power of our inner thinking. Its strength lies in merging deep ideas with real-world applicabilityencouraging readers to shape their destiny with intention rather than drift through life passively.
If you're drawn to self-help that blends philosophical depth with practical steps, and if you're ready to take introspective action, this book offers both the wake-up call and the roadmap.

-Plot/Content: 4/5 — Strong, motivational concept with depth.
-Writing Style: 3.5/5 — Clear and disciplined, though dense in places.
-Originality: 4/5 — The metaphysical angle on intellect stands out.

Cherish or Perish by Prabha Karan offers a thought provoking perspective on the power of intellect. The book emphasizes that our intellect is not just about intelligence or knowledge but is the guiding force behind our decisions, relationships, and overall well-being.

What stood out to me was the author's approach to presenting the importance of nurturing our intellect. Instead of overwhelming the reader with complex theories, Karan provides practical insights and real-life examples that make the concepts relatable and easy to understand.

The book delves into various aspects of life, illustrating how a strong intellect can lead to better decision making, healthier relationships, and a more fulfilling life. It also touches upon the challenges and external factors that can hinder our intellectual growth and offers guidance on how to overcome them.

While the content is insightful, some sections felt repetitive, and at times, the message seemed to be reiterated in different ways. However, the overall message is clear and impactful: by cherishing and strengthening our intellect, we can navigate life's challenges more effectively.

I would recommend this book to those looking for a gentle yet compelling reminder of the power of the mind. It's a good starting point for anyone interested in personal growth and self awareness.

"Cherish or Perish" stands as a daring, mind-stretching handbook that champions one key idea: your 'Intellect', not your smarts or feelings, shapes your future. Prabha Karan sets apart the 'Mind' (a rush of wants and emotions) from the 'Intellect' (the steady logical guide) highlighting that our lives' quality depends on the self-control and focus we bring to our thoughts.

The book taps into tales from past, spiritual, and scientific giants — spanning Marie Curie and Nelson Mandela to Thich Nhat Hanh and Lord Krishna — to deliver a rich blend of soul wisdom, hands-on psychology, and a push to act now. It digs deep into ideas like the "three bodies" (physical, subtle, and causal), the strength of "self-reflection", and the risks of "thoughtless buying".

The repetition, while noticeable, seems deliberate - a sort of mental "rewiring" to emphasize the seriousness of the message. It combines ancient Vedantic insights with contemporary life guidance encouraging readers to take charge of their lives and future rebirths.

📌 Best for: People looking for spiritual self-improvement those who like to reflect , and fans of philosophical non-fiction such as "The Power of Now" or "The Untethered Soul".

Cherish or Perish as a book feels deep well of wisdom, that brings out the distinction between intellect and intelligence along with emphasizing how it is critical to channelise your intelligence to harness it's potential. It opens with teaching you the distinction between your gross body, subtle body and causal body and their internal dynamics. Citing examples of inspirational personalities like Marie Curie, Alan Turin and Benjamin Franklin, the book teaches us the importance of having clarity, the ability to allow changes in life flow and work flow and training the mind to be okay with impermeance. While we all know that change is the only constant, paradoxically, the human brain instinctively resists this fundamental reality. The human mind naturally gravitates towards attachment.. The book focuses on teaching you have to gain control over your thought process, sharpen your decision making abilities with heightened clarity and achieve growth in all areas of your life by improving interpersonal relationships of all kinds. The structure might feel unfamiliar to those who prefer blueprint style roadmaps in the self help genre. Honest and straightforward in expression, this book is a good pick if you are looking to do some work on yourself as a person.

Cherish or Perish turned out to be a much deeper read than I expected. The book starts by highlighting how powerful our Intellect really is and why most of us hardly recognise or use it well. As I read through the early chapters, I found myself pausing often because the ideas feel very real. The distinction the author makes between the Mind and the Intellect is explained so clearly that it almost feels like someone holding up a mirror. It made me realise how many choices in life are reactions rather than decisions.

I appreciated how the author uses simple explanations and real examples to show how a strong Intellect can shape everything from our habits to our relationships. The chapter on the limitless power of a trained Intellect stood out for me. It pushes you to think about whether your biggest decisions come from clarity or emotion. The examples of people like Marie Curie and Alan Turing add a nice touch and make the message feel universal.

What I liked most is that the book does not just inspire you for a moment. It nudges you to actually take control of your thoughts and actions. Overall, a thoughtful and steady read that encourages genuine inner work.

A Wake-Up Call for the Modern Mind...

Prabha Karan's Cherish or Perish doesn't give you advice; it hits you hard. This is a clear call to take your mind seriously—not just your smarts, but also that rare, focused force that cuts through mental clutter and turns intention into action. Karan says that getting back this inner compass is not an option in a world that wants to distract and control you; it's a matter of survival. The book uses vivid stories and distilled wisdom to make one thing clear: a mind that isn't disciplined is a breeding ground for chaos.

What makes this different from other self-help books is how urgent and clear it is. Karan's writing cuts through excuses and asks the reader to make a simple but important choice: strengthen your mind or watch your purpose, peace, and potential slowly fade away. This isn't just a bunch of motivational fluff; it's a guide to mental freedom. Cherish or Perish is bold, focused, and very important. It demands your attention and gives you a reward for it.

"Cherish or Perish" by Prabha Karan is a thoughtful book that really makes you pause and reflect on the role of our intellect in shaping life.

It’s not just about knowledge or intelligence, but about that inner guiding force that influences our choices, relationships, and even peace of mind. What I liked is how the author have kept things simple—using real-life examples and easy practices instead of heavy theories. It feels more like gentle guidance than preaching.

The book explains how distractions, emotions, and external noise can weaken our intellect, while habits like reflection, questioning, and discipline can make it sharper. Some parts did feel a little repetitive, but the overall message is impactful and clear. What makes it stand out is the balance—it has enough depth to make you think, but it’s also practical so you can apply it in everyday life.

If you’re curious about understanding your mind better or want to make clearer decisions, this is a good place to start.

A self-help book, Cherish or Perish (2025) by Prabha Karan explores our minds and how a better understanding of it can improve our lives. A meta-physicist and engineer, Prabha Karan’s methodology is based on five principles - discipline, questioning, liberal education, reflection, and introspection. Through this process, the reader can learn to better use their minds to enable a practical action, orientated life. Whist not for everybody, this timely approach will help clarify our thinking and better assess the avalanche of information that bombards us daily. It’s a small book of 115 pages that can help develop our intellect, independent thinking and spur us to action. A call to thoughtful introspection and strengthening of our intellects makes for a four and a half star read rating. As always, the opinions herein are totally my own, freely given and without any inducement. With the author for an uncorrected advanced review copy for review purposes.

This is an astounding book. As an ordained Buddhist I am often reading books about the mind, spiritual practice, Zen stories so I was drawn to the concept but wow, I did not expect to love this book as much as I do. Early on the author distinguishes between intellect and the mind. An important concept to grasp. Westerners think of intellect as being smart and think the mind is the brain or at least the abstract construct of the brain. This is misleading.

This is an eye opening read. A lot of it is a reminder for me since this is a part of my daily practice but even I can see where I can dust off a few parts I have ignored. This is ultimately a book of action, of reflection, of change, of examination and making the necessary realizations you need to live a fulfilling life. Its easy tone and inspirational message make it a joy to read and this is one I will recommend a lot.

Ten stars all the way. I choose cherish.

This book is honestly a must read if you’ve ever been even a little curious about how your mind actually works. It takes the big, often confusing concept of intellect and breaks it down in such a clear and relatable way that you never feel overwhelmed. Instead of throwing heavy theories at you, it feels like you’re being guided step by step by someone who genuinely understands the subject and also knows how to explain it in simple terms.

What really stood out to me is that the book doesn’t just talk about what intellect is, but also goes into how you can actually use it in your daily life and, even better, how to grow and sharpen it over time. It’s not one of those books that you read once and forget about but it sticks with you and makes you reflect on your thought patterns, decisions, and the way you approach problems.

I also loved that it balances insight with practicality. Some self growth or psychology books can get either too dry and academic or too fluffy and motivational, but this one feels like the perfect middle ground. It gives you substance without weighing you down and inspiration without overpromising.

By the end, you come away not just understanding your mind a little better, but also feeling equipped with small, realistic tools to help you use that understanding in real life. If you’re someone who loves exploring how we think, make choices, or simply want to understand yourself better, I’d definitely recommend picking this one up. It’s the kind of book that grows with you the more you think about it.

The human intellect is far too often taken for granted. It is what allows us to potentially thrive, yet far too many of us neglect it. This book aims to remedy that. Intellectual power is dissected by the author in this fascinating study of what it means to live the life of the mind.

Strengthen your intellect

Reading this book really made me think about how we use our minds in everyday life. So often, we react on impulse or let our emotions take over without stopping to think clearly. The author reminds us that we all have a wise part within us, a kind of inner guide, and that we need to strengthen it. It is not about becoming cold or overly rational, but about learning to think calmly and consciously, without getting swept up by everything going on around us. What I liked most is that the book is not just theory, it offers practical steps you can apply in real life. To me, it felt like an invitation to take back control from the inside. If we all took a bit more time to think before acting, the world would definitely be a more balanced place.

I am grateful to have received an advanced reader copy of this book, and am leaving a review voluntarily. This is a very interesting read. As the author warns, there are numerous bold statements made throughout this book and it is very intentionally repetitive (as this truly does help readers remember and more deeply comprehend the information). These bold perspectives and statements may not work for anyone, however, I have found that even if the reader struggles to agree with some of the author's beliefs, there still is value in working with them as metaphors and applying the more basic steps to improve your intellect. Even if this book is perceived as a book full of metaphors, the core principles are very valuable.

Pabha Karan analyzes the concept of Intellect from a refreshing point of view. The mind is the ultimate tool, capable of great things, but it could also be the cause of great destruction.

Personally, I found it very interesting. A bulletproof mindset it's not built from one day to the other; it takes effort and determination to change bad habits and to focus on what's really important. Cherish or Perish is a book that makes you think, not the classic descriptive book that tells general "truths", but a meaningful tool to be mastered.

Short but powerful, it is a book that's easy to read but hard to forget!

Intellect is will

This book for me is a splendid way to open our eyes to a society that is more and more trapped by the impossibility of getting things done. The book helped me to reflect a lot about so many aspects that in my daily life truncate me; such as fear, distractions like social networks and the bad use of time. The intellect is then the engine to remove the barriers and start looking for the dreams that we have been truncated for a long time. In truth, this book is not only a guide but a sign that we must implement changes as soon as possible and start working for ourselves, for our mental and emotional peace to live a better future.

An eye opening read, I think what caught my attention the most was how it made me realize how critical thinking gets lost along the way. Showing how easy it is to get lost in distractions in the rush of the day, every day. It is definitely like a call to action book and it talks about how important it is to take care of what we think to not end up unhappy.

Although there were parts that felt a bit repetitive, at the end, the whole concept made me think about my actions. I think it is a great reminder, a good book to read to remind readers how important it is to treat your mind well, as it is a very powerful tool.

Cherish or Perish: Strengthen Your Intellect; Save The World! by Prabha Karan
Like this deep thinking book that makes a lot of sense to me. It talks about 3 parts of your body that rule your body and how they work together. Like summary at the end of the chapters to make sure you're on track still. It's a deep read with some light areas that help the book along with real stories.
Like the way you can advance your learning to strengthen your intellect, many of which I have been doing for years as I'm well over 65 now. Keep track of your progress and see the difference from month to month.

But with this guide, you will take control of your mind and be able to regain the happiness and calm you have lost. More than just a guide, this read will help you reconnect with yourself and bring out the best version of you. I highly recommend it. It will change your life.

From the very first pages, it urges you to re-evaluate how you think, not just what you think about. It goes far beyond typical motivational advice by focusing on a concept that’s often overlooked in modern life: the strength and discipline of the intellect. The writing is clear, direct, and at times even stirring. It urges readers to stop drifting, stop reacting, and start living intentionally.
Highly recommended for those serious about lasting transformation—not just self-improvement.

⭐️ 3.5/5.

NetGalley review.

Whilst the book was very interesting and thought provoking, the presentation I found quite difficult to be able to read. I would have liked to see some images that I can relate what’s being spoken about.

Reading about the internal barriers was very interesting and I found this particularly section very helpful.

“You possess the extraordinary power to reverse this trajectory”.

Not something I would really read normally, but I was drawn in by the cover.
