Dying for Death: The Stuntman and the Scribe

Rate this book
I was meant to keep order, not fall in love with a reckless vampire who could tear my world apart.

As the newly appointed God of the Dead, I can’t afford even a hint of weakness as a man or a god. Las Vegas belongs to the Egyptian gods now, and I’m the one holding the balance between my power-hungry brethren.

Any crack in my authority could ignite open war, dragging chaos down the Strip. To keep the world standing, I have to make it unmistakably clear that I’m in control now—the man who once kept order from the sidelines and now decides how far the gods can push.

That control unravels the moment the one man I loved returns to the city of lights and sin—no longer human, but a vampire.

In exchange for immortality, Aaron is blood bound to Seth, a god determined to resurrect ancient hierarchies and enslave mortals and immortals alike. Worse, Seth knows exactly how to use Aaron against me.

And Aaron doesn’t make it easy.

He keeps throwing himself into danger, reckless and defiant, like he needs to prove he’s no longer something fragile I have to protect.

But he still is.

And if anything happens to him, I would never recover.

I have to choose between the order that keeps the world intact and the man who has always been my only weakness.

Loving him could start a war.
Losing him would destroy me.

Huge thank you for the ARC because WOW, this had no business being this addictive. I picked it up thinking quick read… and instead couldn’t put it down.

The world-building is surprisingly rich, and the character arcs? Actually I got attached way too fast and was fully invested.

Fast-paced, emotional, and just the right amount of chaos this one delivers.

Would recommend?100%

This is the story we all needed and Holly did not disappoint. This story was worth the wait. The passion and love Timothy and Aaron share is so deliciously sweet. This book had me needing to know what was going to happen next I couldn't put this down. Such great character development in this book. It was great getting to see these two struggle for each other to be better one another other. I was beyond invested in their love. I can't wait to see if she writes more to their story or for someone else in this world.

ARC – Dying for Death by Holly Roberds
It’s was a pleasure to get an advanced copy, but let look at Dying for Death.

Wow… just wow. Aaron and Timothy are fire. The push and pull, the sacrifice, the love, the power—seriously, what doesn’t this story have?

You know that moment in a book where you look at your book bestie and say, “It’s about to go down,” preferably in your most intimidating voice? Yeah… this book has that moment, and it hits perfectly.

Aaron gives everything—and then more—as he fights to get back to Timothy and claim the heart of a god he never thought he could have. Meanwhile, Timothy is struggling under the weight of his new role, putting himself in a box we all know he doesn’t belong in. You just want to shout at him to show them who he really is and never look back.

Once again, Holly delivers with another fantastic installment in the Vegas Immortals series. If you’re already hooked on this world, this book absolutely keeps the momentum going with emotion, tension, and characters you can’t help but root for.

All in all, another win from Holly Roberds.

I was given this as an ARC and this story did not disappoint. This is a stand-alone in the Vegas Immortals series. I do recommend reading the other books first but it can be read without the others.

This is an M/M romance. Check your trigger warnings always.

This book is about Tim (Thoth) and Aaron (a human). Tim says they can’t be together because he is a strict rule breaker so Aaron leaves Vegas behind but he can’t stop thinking about Tim.

When Aaron reappears Vegas, Tim is struck blind. But even worse Aaron is tied to a God that is against Tim and his rules.

I love how Tim had to confront something inside himself to realize that rules are sometimes meant to be broken for the betterment of others. I absolutely love these two and this world!!!

Holly really said Hold My Glass 🍸 and let these two SHOW OUT. I knew my little Timothy had it in him to prove his throne. Aaron just had to let hell lose and throw caution to the winds. Dying for Death was the exact side story I was wishing for these two. I absolutely love the Vegas Immortal Series and cannot wait for more side stories 💀🖤 smut, gods, shadow pups, and of course casinos? sold. throw in an adrenaline junkie who needs forever with his one true heart mate. I knew this one would come in swinging and let me tell ya it starts out HAWT 🥵🙏🌶

I always thought Vivian should have turned Aaron into a vampire. While I love the world and Holly, this book didn't hit the same as the others. Numerous times I was annoyed due to appeared inconsistencies only for them to be explained away a few pages later. I was so excited for Timothy and Aaron to get together that I was surprised at how aggravated I got while reading this book. Timothy was incredibly frustrating for most of this book and Aaron wasn't much better. Thinking on it, it is probably very in keeping with their characters. Overall, decent but nettling read.

ARC Review

"It was all I could do not to rip Seth's arm out of its socket and beat him with the wet end."

I haven't read any of the previous books in this series but it truly felt like this could have been a stand alone (which I love).

The little bit of spice at the beginning in the prologue lead nicely into the story of the book.
More spice would have been nice, but given circumstances in the book it's understandable why there isn't and instead theres mountains of sexual tension.

The fight scene at the end though when Timothy pulls Aaron to him with his power and makes Aaron bite him *chef's kiss*!

Seth (the dick pickle) can live in his labyrinth of a mind while Aaron, Timothy and Assirak get their happily ever after.

I was an ARC reader and was sooo desperately waiting for Timothy and Aaron's story! It did not dissappoint. I knew there would be a plot twist, but when I realized the culprit was Seth I just couldnt put it down after that. I was anxiously waiting for how Timothy would free Aaron or if Grim would have to come back after the "uprosing". I am so glad they got their HEA though. And Timothy finally realizing he deserves to be happy and learning to let go just a little bit was the icing on the cake.

I was first introduced to Holly Roberds through her Lost Girls series and loved every book. I quickly devoured the Vegas Immortals novels as well, and one thing I especially enjoy about her writing is her use of dual POVs.

Dying for Death centers on Timothy, an uptight Egyptian god turned overseer of the Sinopolis Hotel, and Aaron, a newly turned vampire. I was excited to finally read their story after only seeing hints of their mutual attraction in earlier books.

The novel begins almost four years after their one night together, and it was so engaging that I finished it in one sitting. While it can be read as a standalone, I think the world-building, characters, and lore, especially elements like the blood bond between a vampire and a god, are even more rewarding if you’ve read the previous books. Overall, I loved revisiting this dynamic world and seeing Timothy and Aaron finally get their story.

I received an ARC for review.

OKAY listen Lindaaa—this one did not walk in quietly. It kicked the damn door down and made itself comfortable.

I’ve had this series rotting on my TBR for a minute after reading Monster Under my Bed last Oct, which absolutely wrecked me so good that I had to light a cigarette during and after (note: I quit smoking years ago). So when the ARC opportunity popped up? Yeah, no hesitation. Snatched. Immediately.

And this little prequel novella? Oh, she understood the assignment.

We’re talking forbidden romance between an ancient Sumerian god and a human set in this glittering, sin-soaked, contemporary Vegas-style city where gods walk among us in secret. And the tension? Immediate. Electric. Unholy. (for my feral friends spice starts on my page 1 or two just put that into perspective).

But here’s where it gets even better—because what starts as that god/human dynamic slowly twists into something darker, sharper… more dangerous. Enter: vampires. And not in a “oh cute fangs” way. No. This shift changes the entire emotional temperature of the story. The power dynamics are scrumtrulecently (iykyk) messy. The yearning = cranked up to an unbearable level.

And although this is a Novella, the author did not cut corners on plot development, world, building character arcs etc. 👏

A definite highlight for me was the Mythos, which is seamlessly blended—Sumerian roots with hints of Egyptian influence layered into a modern sin city-esque empire dripping in excess and danger. With vibes on immaculate, and tension stretched so tight I thought it was going to snap. 🤌🔥

And when it finally does… yeah. I inhaled that oxygen and like I had been drowning. 😮‍💨

Also, can we talk about the longing? Because this book said “slow burn” and then jumped into a gas chamber and lit the match anyway. I was giggling, kicking my feet, staring at the ceiling at 3AM like I had just personally been wronged by the lack of fictional men like this existing IRL yet again.

And the wildest part? These aren’t even the main coupling in the series. (from my current understanding.)

If THIS is the level of obsession we’re getting from side characters??? I am not prepared for what the full-length books are about to do to me. 🤣🤌 but put me in, coach!

So yeah. 10/10. Zero notes. I’m already emotionally attached and slightly unwell.

This novel delivers a dark, intoxicating blend of mythology, power, and forbidden love, set against the glittering, dangerous backdrop of Las Vegas. From the very first lines, it establishes a gripping internal conflict: a god tasked with maintaining order who is undone by the one person he cannot control his feelings for.

At the heart of the story is a protagonist burdened by responsibility. As the newly appointed God of the Dead, his voice carries the weight of authority, but also isolation. His struggle to maintain dominance among power-hungry gods feels sharp and believable, especially as the threat of war looms over every decision he makes. The tension isn’t just external—it’s deeply personal, and that’s where the story truly shines.

The reintroduction of Aaron as a vampire bound to a manipulative god adds a compelling layer of tragedy and urgency. Their relationship is charged with history, pain, and undeniable chemistry. Aaron’s recklessness contrasts beautifully with the protagonist’s need for control, creating a dynamic that is equal parts passionate and volatile. Every interaction between them feels like it could tip the balance between love and destruction.

What makes this story particularly engaging is how seamlessly it blends romance with political intrigue. The idea of Egyptian gods ruling modern-day Las Vegas is both unique and atmospheric, giving the narrative a vivid, almost cinematic quality. Beneath the emotional turmoil lies a constant undercurrent of danger, reminding readers that love in this world is never just personal—it has consequences that ripple outward.

The writing leans heavily into angst, and for readers who enjoy high emotional stakes, this is a major strength. The central dilemma—choosing between the stability of the world and the person you love—is handled with intensity and care, making the protagonist’s turmoil feel raw and real.

Overall, this is a compelling dark fantasy romance that thrives on tension, heartbreak, and impossible choices. It’s a story where love is both a weakness and a weapon, and where every decision carries the potential for devastation. Perfect for readers who crave angsty, high-stakes romance woven into a richly imagined supernatural world.

Be still my beating heart! Holly you have done it again. You have stollen a part of me to live on in this love story for all of eternity. The wait was well worth it in this one! This whole series has me in a chokehold and the build up and tension between Aaron and Timothy was well written and left you desperate for more. From the first moment these two MMC meet I’ve longed for their love story and their happy ending. I’m so happy it’s finally here!

The character development was greatly written and truly left you invested in their relationship. The love between Aaron and Timothy is a love which truly will standing the tests of time. They struggle to admit it to each other and struggle to truly feel enough for each other. Both MMC’s make sacrifices for each other to try and ‘better’ themselves for the other.

This book is a great representation of how we limit ourselves from true potential by not feeling good enough. Both MMC struggle with self worth and self doubt in their own way. One buries himself in rules and order while another seeks out adrenaline rushes to cope. This book brings you on the journey or self discovery and self awareness between the two MMC. When Timothy finally realizes he’s more than what he believes and he does have the power and strength that’s required to right the wrongs Seth created. He realizes he’s can bend the rules for the right reasons and that Aaron makes him a stronger better person. Aaron pushes his limits and forces him to believe in something better.

Honestly I cannot say enough about this whole series! I will forever be in a chokehold of this world. All the books have incredible world building and character development. Written so well I struggle to put these books down. The interwoven ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses bring an amazingly interesting twist to the typical idea of the grim reaper and make for amazing hyperphantasia. These books truly come to life in my minds eye as I read and the imagery is always outstanding. I honestly can’t say enough about this series as a whole.

I was given this as an ARC for my honest review.

I love this series. I've read every single book and bonus material available. However this one just didn't hit as hard. Don't get me wrong. It was wonderfully written and it was great to learn more of the story. But this particular story just wasn't as good as the others.

Not much happened in the book. The few events seemed drawn out and not very exciting. Despite knowing it was about half the size of the other books it still just seemed like it was beyond short. It felt like a couple bonus chapters with bonus chapter events. For everything leading to the battle with Seth the battle was over very quickly. (The reaper dogs taking part was awesome though.)

Absolutely loved that Timothy has a reaper dog (Assirak.) who stays with him. I'd like a novella about the reaper dogs. Maybe how they came to be and serve.

I really don't like Timothy. He's loyal, helpful, intelligent, nice, etc. But I can't stand people who push away their love because they are afraid of getting hurt or afraid of hurting them. It's not just their decision to make. He's a goody goody (a stickler for the rules who follows them blindly) and that often leads to unnecessary misery. Yes, Timothy finally gained some confidence and embraced his love for Aaron. Him getting there was not my idea of an enjoyable read though. I am over the moon that they are finally a couple and Aaron can stop being tortured by Timothy's rejection. Aaron deserves to be loved fully and unconditionally.

The sex scenes are MM. In my opinion they are tastefully done. There's enough detail to know what's happening but not so much as to be "dirty" or so explicit that you really need to be into MM to read the book. The sex scenes are fairly short and do not dominate the book. So even if that's not your thing you can still read the book and enjoy it. If you're totally against MM then obviously skip this book. It's not a secret that Timothy and Aaron are gay and have sex so it shouldn't be a surprise.

⭐️⭐️⭐️️⭐️/ ️🌶️🌶️🌶️

If you are familiar with Holly Roberds’ writing, you know she always packs her stories with spice, drama, tension, and so much yearning. So to have all that in a book that is less than 200 pages, Dying for Death takes readers for a fun ride. I was so excited for another book in Holly’s Vegan Immortals because I love this world. Vegas being owned by Egyptian gods brings new meaning to the term sin city, but Holly never fails to write amazing stories.

I have loved Timothy since book 1 in this series. He brings order to a world full of chaos, but also supports his friends with fierce loyalty. He is always a bright spot in the series and I am so glad he got his own story. There are hints here and there about his past and to see that past meet his present is exciting. I loved seeing this ordered god start to come undone when a blast from the past shows back up.

Aaron is not the same man that Timothy once knew. Now immortal and putting his life on the line every night (or so regular humans think), the chaos that swirls around him is the exact opposite of Timothy. He starts out a bit mysterious, but Holly knows how to develop characters so well, even when done quickly, it is complete and full circle. I definitely could have read more about these two.

This book is part of a series that I do recommend you read in order to fully understand the journey these two have been on. These two men compliment each other so well, while challenging each other at the same time. Timothy has to learn not everything can have order, while Aaron has to learn that order is needed. Holly will always be a favorite author of mine and each book she writes solidifies that. Her talent is limitless and she pours her heart into every story she creates.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

Angsty Goodness

Fan favorite characters Timothy and Aaron finally get their turn in the spotlight.
Timothy is the God of Wisdom and Record Keeping. He is a strict rule follower who denies himself the pleasure he so desperately craves from the barista at the shop inside his hotel. One night Timothy lets his need take over and has a steamy night with Aaron. When he wakes up, Aaron is gone.
Nearly four years later, Timothy is still pining for Aaron and what they could have had. But relationships between Gods and mortals would never work. Mortals are temporary and Timothy realized he would never recover losing Aaron for good. So he throws himself into his work, covering temporarily for the grim reaper.
In steps Seth, the God of Chaos. He has found himself a new stuntman and is determined to make him the most famous stuntman in the world. After the first death defying act, Seth is all to happy to introduce his new star. As luck would have it, Aaron has returned! However, he is not quite the same as when he left. He is now a vampire.
The story continues to unfold with the prim and proper Timothy trying but failing to keep his distance from Aaron. Seth is all too happy to keep putting Aaron in more dangerous stunts to raise his social media following. With each stunt, Timothy loses a little more of his composure. He is in a precarious position of trying to keep the Gods in line while fighting his feelings for Aaron.
What is Seth up to? Why would Aaron agree to become a vampire? Will Timothy get his happily ever after? While this story can be read as a stand alone, it is recommended to read the rest of the Vegas Immortal series to understand the character back stories. Also, all of the books are a good time so why would you deny yourself? I gobbled this book up in one sitting.

Before you dive into this review, I want to say that i fear i might not have done this book full justice because I read the book and wrote this while very sick. But I was hooked and loved it, so here we are... 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄.

'𝙄𝙛 𝙄 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣'𝙩 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙄'𝙙 𝙨𝙤 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙖𝙡𝙡."

I devoured this book so quickly, it was fun, short and sweet. I was hooked right from their one-night stand, the tension between Timothy and Aaron was crackling. The turn of events was interesting... and Tim is definitely hot for pulling that move towards the end, making imprisonment by Bob look like child's play and Seth deserved it!

My, my, my,.. I love Aaron so much. The extent he went to just to finally have Timothy and stand beside him left me swooning and crying. I swear that man 𝙇𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙙.And God, Tim's longing and jealousy had my heart crushing and screaming,,him wanting Aaron but still holding on to the rules(his restraint honestly needs research) had me like: 𝙁𝙪𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙨, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧

They're so good for each and perfectly complementing one another.

Let’s just get this out of the way: I was not prepared for Dying for Death by Holly Roberds to completely hijack my reading schedule, my sleep, and—quite possibly—my personality for a solid 48 hours.

And yet… here we are.

I went in with the dangerous confidence of someone expecting a mildly entertaining, quick MM read. You know, something to sip alongside a coffee and forget politely afterwards. Instead, what I got was a full-blown literary ambush—addictive, immersive, and entirely unwilling to let me go until the very last page. Rude, honestly.

The world-building is far richer than it has any right to be. Roberds doesn’t just flirt with mythology—she drags it into the modern world, dresses it impeccably, and lets it loose in Vegas with delicious results. The reimagining of a mythological pantheon (with a particularly delightful Egyptian twist) hits that sweet spot between clever and indulgent. If you enjoy your supernatural beings with a touch of divinity and a modern edge, consider yourself warned: this will be your thing.

And then we have Timothy and Aaron—who, quite frankly, had no business making me this emotionally invested this quickly. It’s almost suspicious. They’re both adorable in completely different ways, and their dynamic balances tenderness, tension, and just enough chaos to keep things deliciously unpredictable. Their story moves fast, but never feels rushed—more like being swept up in something you know you should pace, but absolutely refuse to.

All resulting in a story that’s emotional without being heavy-handed, fast-paced without losing depth, and addictive in a way that sneaks up on you and then refuses to apologize.

So yes—obsessed. Entirely, unapologetically obsessed. And if this is my first visit to the Vegas Immortals series, it certainly won’t be my last.

Consider this your warning—and your invitation.

I love these characters together so much! Timothy is the newly appointed God of Death, tasked with judging souls and maintaining the balance in Grim’s absence. Aaron has just returned a newly turned Vampire and blood bonded to Seth, a god intent on resurrecting the old ways. With the weight of his new responsibilities bearing down on him Timothy clings to the rules and control he holds in every aspect of his life. Though that control begins to fray at the edges when faced with Aaron once again, more so when it becomes clear whatever Seth is up to involves him. As tensions rise and events unravel Timothy has to learn where his true power lies and how to redefine his definition of the rules.
The potential for a relationship between these two characters has been simmering since book two, and I must say I was ecstatic to get to read their story. The paradox of will they give in or won’t they whilst knowing surely it’s inevitable was delicious. It had me both wanting to read faster to see how their story ended and slower to soak in every moment of each of them on the page. Together they were fantastic but individually as characters I absolutely adored them. Aaron with his impulsivity and thirst for life and adrenaline. And Timothy who holds such tights reigns on his life that he often gets in his own way. Watching them grow as characters was wonderful and endeared them to me forever. I only wish the book was longer so I could’ve had more time with the the two of them.
Holly Roberds has once again written something I thoroughly enjoyed reading. If you are looking for a MM romance with helping of mythology I recommend adding this book to your TBR.

Timothy & Aaron

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level: 🔥🔥

Tropes: MM, god/vampire, opposites attract, forbidden love, immortality, PNR, HEA, mutual pining, age-gap romance, Egyptian Gods/Mythology, blood bond

TW: mentions of death, manipulation, power imbalance

160 pages, 19+ chapters
Multi-POV

First thoughts:
Definitely need to read Vegas Immortals. DFD could be read as a standalone but this is their love story and it’s best to understand the context being built from it reading the others in the series to truly enjoy their sacrifices and the HEA we knew Holly would give us!

Things I loved:
- Aaron’s drive to get them together
- Timothy’s backbone finally growing 🤭
- That smack down on Seth

Quotes:

“…not anymore. Because now I’ve accepted I’d do anything to take you from him. I’d do anything to make you mine. I’d create and destroy stars for you. Which means nothing will keep us from bonding.” Yassss Timothy 🔥🫶🏼

“I’m sorry it took so long to get here … more importantly, we can start enjoying our life … oh I’ll make sure of it … for all time.” 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Things I didn’t like:
- no Grim and Vivien - don’t get me wrong the story needed the arc and I’m happy with the way it ended but they’re the OGs and some of the banter we love wasn’t there.

Would I read again? Absolutely
Would I read more from author? Yes! Hellion for life!
Would I recommend? From the mountain tops

I received a complimentary ARC and am voluntarily leaving this review. I'm a big Holly Roberds fan, but this was my first time reading an MM romance from her. I wasn't sure what to expect but ended up not being able to put it down.

It literally gave me chills when Timothy says, "I am not here to posture, I am here to correct." Timothy's "You will not keep the power you have stolen" is something I wish we can scream in real life. (In the last few days, I have yelled that at several people)

Timothy and Aaron are a mess together, and that's what makes them very realistic characters. Thoth has always been cool in my eyes, but Timothy as the god of the dead works as well. Timothy is genuinely powerful, but around Aaron he becomes vulnerable. That gap between what he is and how he feels is what kept me reading. Aaron is stuck in a rough situation for most of the book. I felt bad for him, then frustrated with him, then bad again. Seth doesn't need big moments to be threatening. He just shows up, controls things, and leaves the room worse than he found it. (I have always found the mythological Set to be the chaotic little brother seeking attention)

A lot of the story's tension comes from that quiet power imbalance rather than any dramatic standoff. However, this is a slow book. The romance is intense and actually connected to what's at stake. While this can be read as a standalone MM romance, it is best enjoyed after following Timothy through the entire Vegas Immortals series.

First of all, I want to thank Holly Roberds for letting me be a part of her ARC team, the ARCvengers.

I received an ARC copy of the novella Dying for Death: The Stuntman and the Scribe in return for my honest review.

I will admit I am personally a little behind in the Vegas Immortals books, but I do plan on reading the rest of them in the very near future.

Now onto the good stuff…
THE REVIEW ↓↓↓↓↓

I must say there is good character development in this book! It was great getting to see Timothy and Aaron facing the struggle of wanting to be better for one another.

I personally loved the witty coffee shop pun “Perkatory” *chef’s kiss!* And of course, it wouldn’t be a complete run to the coffee shop without getting a pup cup for the world’s goodest boy.

Le Tropes:
• MM romance with a healthy helping of mythology — a nice blend of vampires and Egyptian gods ← the concept alone that pulled me in
• One-night stand
• Paranormal romance / blood bond
• Mutual pining
• Age-gap romance
• God of the Dead & a vampire
• Forbidden love
• HEA

The not-so-good:
I honestly couldn’t dive off the deep end, which is unfortunate, as I love devouring books especially the ones from HR.

Sorry, my dear Holly. It was 133 pages of good, but not amazing to me. Perhaps this series just isn’t for me.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️

Spice Level: 🌶 I was honestly hoping for more… I would say this would be a good introductory read for those testing the waters of MM romance.

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the author for allowing me the absolute privilege of being able to arc read this book. I truly appreciate it!

I am so excited to finally have Timothy's story, especially with Aaron! That man deserves the literal world and by gosh will he get it! I will say technically you could read this book independently of the rest, but it is so much better when you've read the previous books. I've only read the first two books in this series, and I knew some other things about the other three books and I could still completely follow along, but it would definitely impact even more with having read all 5 previous books.

Timothy and Aaron are absolutely everything and I will protect them with everything I have! This story will have you believing in second chances, fate and honestly even though it's not used soulmates. These two are exactly that and watching fate and second chances weave their way through, no matter what occurs will leave you desperate for them to make it through. Watching Timothy fully embrace himself, his power and his new position all well going through everything that happens in this book was so incredible. If you know this wonderful soul, than you know how truly beautiful this entire book was. There is so much action, nonstop edge of your seat adventure, and so much panic that they're not going to get their happily ever after, that it makes you feel as if you're as broken as Timothy feels inside and it's so moving!

There is so much more I want to say, but literally everything I could say, would end up spoiling this book and this series for you, and this needs to be read by everyone! Especially anyone who loves a great fantasy romance with the most utterly flawless weaving of Egyptian mythology! I promise you, you won't regret reading them!

Thank you so very much again from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the absolute privilege of being able to arc read this book! I truly appreciate it and I can't wait until its here!

Spice: 1/5🌶️

My thoughts: This author knew exactly what we needed when she wrote this book. If you have not read all of the Vegas Immortals series, then you may be a little lost on who Timothy and Aaron are and why we are screaming with all the excitement over them.

I went into this book with so much longing for these two. Ever since they were introduced in previous books I just knew they deserved their HEA any way I could get it and was not disappointed. I think their biggest struggle was the fact that Timothy was a God and Aaron was a mortal and they both knew the relationship wouldn't work out because of that. Aaron definitely found a way around that but gets himself into some pretty deep water. I did spend a lot of this book wanting to kick Timothy in the shin because Aaron was right there and he could just reach out and take him and stop following all those pesky rules.

This one may be a short read, but it worked out perfectly and I was so happy to get their book. Holly did a phenomenal job as she always does with her books. Thank you so much for allowing me the chance to be an ARC reader for this one as I have been a huge fan since the start of the series.

Read this if you love:

I have received an Advanced Reader Copy and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Oh my WORDS. This book is insane.

It had me feeling all the feelings - the angst and the yearning between Aaron and Timothy was so hot it could literally set fire to the room.

There were times where I just wanted to shake Timothy so hard and get him to wake up and see what Aaron would sacrifice for him but also there were times I wanted to shake Aaron and see what not so smart decisions he was making! I'm so glad these pair worked it out when they did because I'm not sure how much more I could take 😂😂

I have only read Grim and Vivian's books but you can absolutely dive right in without feeling lost but I've heard that reading the other books is absolutely worth it to see how much Timothy and Aaron have been dancing around eachother and the conclusion that so much more satisfying 😏 The spice was *chefs kiss*, not too much, not too little, juuuuust right 🔥

And that battle scene was EPIC! Now you'd expect a battle of the gods to be something other worldly but this was on another level and I cackled at the end because a certain someone got more than his just desserts!

I hope this is not the end we see of this Las Vagas world because I have honestly enjoyed it too much to let it go, not when everyone is FINALLY happy. I'll pray to the Holly Roberds gods for some more please! 🙏

After all the tension we witnessed between them in the prevoius Vegas Immortals books, we finally get the story we've all been begging for, Timothy and Aaron's. Timothy is the God of Wisdom and Record Keeping, therefore he's Immortal. He's very by the book and never breaks the rules. You better believe he knows them ALL. Aaron is a laid back, adventurous, and impulsive human. Everything that Timothy is not. I mean, they do say opposites attract. Somehow Aaron has managed to burrow deep under Timothy's skin, causing the normally put together God to lose his cool. According to Timothy, Aaron's life has an expiration date and it's better that he just stays away. Yet, there has always been this back and forth of will they won't they. We watch as Timothy struggles to believe in himself and Aaron is forced to do things outside of his control. My emotions were all over the place. I yelled at both of them for being so stubborn and not just seeing they were meant for each other. There are a few familiar characters making appearances in this book. I was excited to see most of them, one of them I knew was up to no good. It was so much fun jumping back into this world. I will definitely continue reading books by this author.

“Mine. Finally. Mine forever.”

"If I couldn't keep to the rules l'd so rigidly kept to for all time, I was going to break them all.”

" I'd do anything to make you mine. I'd create and destroy stars for you. Which means nothing will keep us from bonding

"I love you too. I've always loved you!'"I love you,"
' He didn't look away. He took more, demanded more with the tension in his body and the hunger in his eyes.
He wanted this.
He wanted me.

Holly did not disappoint. This story was worth the wait. There was sweet passion, the love Timothy and Aaron share is so incredibly sweet. I couldn’t put this down! Was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happens next after every chapter! The character development in this book was fantastic.I was invested in their love story, the build up of tension between Aaron and Timothy was perfect! I loved how they both made sacrifices trying to help to feel “worthy” enough for the other. The self discovery journey ❤️‍🔥
Incredible world building! I’m loving this author and I can't wait to see more of this authors work! 😍

Oooooooh, once again, Holly Roberds has given us something beautiful and suspenseful, and overall so incredibly good! And this was in novella form! I could not have gotten enough of Timothy and Aaron, and this whole book was just so good!! Aaron was such an incredible character, and seeing what lengths he was willing to go to for his goals and his love was just so wonderful to see! His strength and resilience through the nonsense that Set put him through was just so deeply beautiful! And Timothy was amazing to watch as he accepted his power, decided to take on his mantle, and push and fight for things he wanted in his life! I could lose myself in so much of Timothy, and getting to watch how he both embraced and let go of his control and hold on the rules and order! I just loved these two and getting to watch them finally give in to each other! Plus all the characters in this world that we get more time with, was just so perfect!! Overall, this one was every kind of perfection we could ask for, and only Holly could give us!! 5 stars; 3.75 chili peppers

Tropes:

- Mutual Pining
- Blood Bond
- Duty vs Desire

After several years apart, Aaron comes up with the not so bright idea of being turned into a vampire. Unfortunately, he chose Seth, the God of Chaos, to do the deed and is now blood bound to him. Said god is planning to overthrow Timothy and run Las Vegas like the good old days when gods were worshipped.

Timothy is not aware of any of this until he happens to see Aaron performing a beyond death defying feat. Aaron is now the most popular being on the internet but that was not why he became a vamp. All he wanted was to become immortal so that Timothy would stop rejecting him and become his life partner. Nothing goes according to plan.

Timothy has to get his head out of his ass before finally taking action to achieve their HEA.

I hope there’s a book in the works about Jamal and Aoiki, another disparate couple.

Bonus Scene: Vivien makes a surprise visit and Aaron and Miranda fill her in on the latest happenings. Aaron’s stutter has returned, although in the book he had overcome it in all but stressful situations so that was a bit disconcerting. Other than that it was a fun reunion. Oh, and maybe, just maybe, Jamal may be pursuing Aoiki. Time will tell.

ARC Review 🖤

Spice: 🌶️🌶️ (not a whole lot but what spice there was, was amazing! 🫠)
Rating: 5⭐️ (I’m a vibe rater)

As always, Holly, you sucked me in quick and I never once lost interest or had to take a break in order to keep going. I couldn’t put it down. Couldn’t wait to get to the next part of the story to the point that several times I had to go back and reread paragraphs because I just skipped half the paragraph so I could see what was coming next.

You also made me feel really seen with the anxiety and feeling like you’re not enough bits so thank you for that! It always means a lot and helps me work through those feelings a little each time I see a representation of it in a book.

****potential spoilers from this point on*****

Now onto the plot. Fucking Set ugh!!! Hate that god!! Serves you fucking right you dick pickle! (I’m definitely stealing that insult!) Epic Justice served by Timothy trapping the narcissist in his own mind poetic justice!

Aaron the sweet boy! 🖤 I love that I finally was able to fully understand him better and his way of thinking, his ideas, and his passions. And the growth he showed *swoon* just made me love him more. And then, damn you Holly, going and making my heart stop for a minute when you made us think Aaron was dead 😑. How rude! lol!

Oh my special Timothy! I’m so happy he finally learned to let go and that life isn’t truly lived if you always hold yourself back and that love helps make you stronger not weaker. Oh these 2 together are HOT af!!! The push and pull 😏 (hee hee double entendre) the finally giving in. Oh my heart broke when the bond rejected the first time.

This book was amazing. The only thing I can say is I wanted more. I wish there was more but even without it I didn’t feel like the book was lacking in anyway as far as the plot and story went I’m just a greedy bitch and wanted more.

Holly you did it again you beautiful Queen!! Thank you so much for selecting me for an ARC!! 🖤
