Wow, I just finished this book and I really enjoyed this!
I went into this book with a rather blank canvas, I only knew that this book is a lesbian mafia dark romance, and that's about it.
To start, we have the two female main characters. First off there's of course Alessia, the badass mafia heiress. And I'm as straight as they come, but this woman did things to me... She's breathtakingly beautiful, confident, and knows exactly what she wants! On the other side, there's Harper, also beautiful, but with a soft and gentle side. Harper works as a nurse (as a fellow nurse I appreciate this very much!) and meets Alessia while she's at work. There's immediately a strong attraction between the two, and one thing leads to another...
One of the first things I noticed, is the insta love between the two main characters. I'd rather have seen a bit more relationship build-up, but that's really my personal preference.
Alessia and Harper also have a strong sexual attraction towards each other, the spice? Delicious! Alessia also definitely knows her way around the bedroom. The spicy scenes are written beautifully, and I truly savoured them!
The book tells the two sides of the story. On the one hand how it is for Harper to be thrown into the dangerous world of the mafia. And on the other hand what it's like for Alessia to balance her life with her responsibilities in the mafia world, while also trying to keep Harper safe.
The pace of the book is incredibly fast, sometimes a little too quick to my liking. At some point, a lot is going on. However, this did result in me not being able to put my book down and I just kept on reading.
Remember that this is still a dark romance, so the book certainly goes through some very dark and heavy scenes. I strongly advise going through the trigger warnings before reading this book.
I especially think how the main characters deal with their emotions is beautifully written. What I really enjoyed about this is how the main characters deal with their experiences and how they conquer their internal mental battle. You can read the book yourself to find out how they do this of course. So are you looking for a fast-paced, steamy, dark mafia romance with lesbian representation? You'll find it in Alessia!

Wauw, ik heb het boek net uit en wat heb ik hiervan genoten!
Ik ging het boek redelijk blanco in, ik wist alleen dat het een lesbian maffia dark romance was en was het wel.
Om te beginnen hebben we onze hoofdpersonages. Allereerst natuurlijk Alessia, de stoere maffia erfgename. Ik ben zo hetero als maar kan, maar jeetje, deze vrouw deed wat met me. Ze is bloedmooi, zelfverzekerd en weet dondersgoed wat zij wilt! En dan hebben we ook Harper, ook een mooie en sterke dame met ook zeker een hele lieve en zachte kant. Harper werkt als verpleegkundige (als mede verpleegkundige vind ik dit heel leuk!) en komt Alessia tegen tijdens het werken. De sterke aantrekkingskracht tussen de twee is onvermijdelijk en van het één komt het ander. Wat mij opvalt is de intense insta love tussen de twee hoofdpersonages. Zelf heb ik het liefst hier wat meer opbouw in, maar dat is persoonlijke smaak.
Alessia en Harper hebben ook een flinke seksuele aantrekkingskracht, de spice? Verrukkelijk! Ook in bed weet Alessia goed wat zij wilt! De erotische scenes zijn prachtig geschreven, ik heb ervan genoten! In het verhaal word je meegenomen naar hoe het aan de ene kant voor Harper is om meegezogen te worden in de gevaarlijke maffia wereld. En aan de andere kant neemt het verhaal je mee naar hoe Alessia alle ballen hoog probeert te houden met haar verantwoordelijkheden in deze wereld, maar ook Harper's veiligheid. Het tempo van het boek vond ik echt razendsnel, soms iets te snel.
Op een gegeven moment gebeurde er echt ontzettend veel achter elkaar. Dit resulteerde erin dat ik toen het boek ook echt niet meer weg kon leggen en in één ruk door las!
Dit blijft een dark romance met zeker wel heftig beschreven dingen. Het is daarom ook raadzaam om eerst de trigger warnings door te nemen. Ik vond vooral hoe de hoofdpersonages met hun emoties om gingen echt prachtig omschreven.
Wat ik zo mooi vond is hoe de hoofdpersonages uiteindelijk omgaan met hun heftige ervaringen en hoe zij hun interne, mentale strijd overwinnen. Hoe ze dat doen mag je natuurlijk zelf lezen.
Dus ben je op zoek naar een vlotte, steamy dark maffia romance vol met actie en met lesbian representation? Je vindt het bij Alessia!

ik was een van de gelukkig die een pr box had gewonnen met dit boek 😍
het was meteen mijn eerste vrouw/vrouw mafia dark romance 🖤
ik zat erg snel in het verhaal, er zit een fijn tempo in het verhaal.
het verhaal heeft alles wat je van een goed maffia boek verwacht.
