In a world where the others are merely human, one female's secrets could unravel two worlds and a lineage of lies.

For fans of morally gray characters, dark romance, feisty banter, enemies-to-lovers, and cheering for those who thought they were powerless.

Luna, a mindwalker who fears the horror she can unleash through touch, has lived on the cusp of discovery her entire life. When her parents send her to Nightmure after every other option for college fails to even reply, Luna believes a location without electricity and contact with the outside world may be her opportunity to bury her darkest secrets and leave them far behind.

Nightmure is dark and ominous, and the first male she encounters is charming and beguiling in ways that make her toes curl, but when her powers begin to change, death entwines her life with his and turns her world upside down, exposing her to the true horrors hidden within Nightmure's borders and the nightmares that exist beyond.

As her powers develop, she befriends another whose secrets could be just as dangerous as hers. And Luna is pitted against a world where souls are hunted, warlords rule through morally gray males who know how to make someone weak in the knees, and friends are just as dangerous as the shadows lurking about the gothic halls and moody forest. And with every step, Luna inches closer to the darkness calling her, and the secrets holding her from the truth grow.

"Dark forest aesthetics, a powerful FMC, and a dangerous romance - the perfect recipe for a story you just can't put down once you've started it." @hannahhhspencer

"BloodFire takes you through the dark, mesmerizing world of Nightmure, featuring a fierce female main character and enemies-to-lovers romance that will leave you wanting more. It is a must-read for all romantasy lovers!" @kaylacmanning

4 ⭐️ Thank you so much Magdalena Nyneve for the opportunity to ARC read your book! I am truly honored! BloodFire took me by surprise and it was like a reward to read and discover the truth behind the dark secrets and see the plot / story unfold!

Tropes:

✨ Enemies to lovers
✨ Morally gray borderline black characters
✨ Secrets
✨ Dark Academia
✨ Badass FMC
✨ Tension
✨ Banter

The storyline started off a bit on the slower side, but as you keep reading, a lot of things are being revealed which made it rewarding! The romance between the FMC and MMC was a whirlwind! The spice was spicy, the banter was bantering and the ending of the book definitely had me interested to see where the next book picks up. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read an intriguing Romantasy that will keep you on your toes! Well done, Magdalena Nyneve! 🖤🖤

Thank you so much to the author for allowing me to ARC read this book!! All of the gothic, dark academia vibes were so fun and spooky and the world building was very well done and descriptive. Nightmure instantly transports you to a hauntingly beautiful gothic world where all of the students of Nightmure seem to have an unlimited Hot Topic wardrobe worthy of drooling over. The main character, Luna, is a BADASS, although she struggles to see it which is what makes her so relatable. The banter in this book was ON POINT.

I will say I was semi-confused for the first 40-50% of the book, UNTIL the major plot reveals happened and it suddenly made sense why everything had seemed to be slightly confusing and not feel quite right. And THAT, to me, is the brilliance of the author’s writing. Once you realize you were made to feel everything the main character was feeling, and then you felt that “OMG” shocker of the plot twist right along with her and suddenly everything made sense… I mean wow. Magdalena Nyneve is a BRILLIANT author and I can’t wait for the next book in the series!!

After the major plot twist at the halfway point of the book is revealed, the plot ramps up with non-stop action and even more plot twists. If you love romantasy novels with feisty FMCs, morally gray characters, broody MMCs, and some of the most sarcastic and lovable side characters.. this book is for you!!

I loved the dark academia gothic vibes of this story! It takes place at a school called Nightmure. It follows Luna the FMC, she’s strong, witty, and such a fierce badass. She had such a strong pull and desire for Rulyn. The chemistry between them was unmatched. All her internal dialogue kept me laughing. I loved tbe morally grey characters in this story. The magic system was amazing. It was written so beautifully it felt like you were living with them at Nightmure. It was very descriptive and I loved that aspect. After that cliffhanger I need book two like yesterday 🤭 it’s an amazing read written by a very talented writer! ✍️ highly recommend. It’s filled with magic, spice, banter and so many morally grey characters. The world building is excellent.

BloodFire is gothic, gritty, and absolutely feral in the best way. Luna’s mindwalking gift is more curse than blessing, and when she’s sent to Nightmure (this eerie, sentient university), I felt every ounce of her fear and fire. Rulyn the MMC is dark, sharp, and impossible to read, but somehow, exactly what Luna needs. This book doesn’t hold your hand. It drags you through and dares you to want more. Nyneve is a strong writer.

Some books don’t just tell a story—they haunt you, claim you, inspire you, and linger long after the last page.
If you like dark academia fantasy with magic beans and danger that burns, dig into this book with eyes wide open. Bloodfire by Magdalena Nyneve is a gothic Romantasy dream: dark, atmospheric, poetic, haunting, and utterly spellbinding.

Set in a world where candles glisten, food appears out of nowhere, shadows whisper and secrets burn, the story follows Luna—a fierce and flawed heroine haunted by her past and the power she fears might destroy her. Gothic supporting characters combine with Luna to keep you guessing during this crazy addictive storyline.

Magdalena’s prose is lush and lyrical, painting a world as eerie as it is enchanting. Each page is beautifully written and well developed throughout. Unique magic systems and fantasy elements are inspired and terrifyingly familiar. The morally gray characters pull you in, the slow-burning tension keeps you hooked, and the sharp, witty banter adds a flicker of light to the story’s haunting atmosphere.

This book wrapped around me like velvet and thorns—I devoured every page and felt every heartbeat. Bloodfire now holds a permanent place on my shelf and in my soul. I’ll be following Luna’s saga wherever it leads.

I received a copy of this book from the author and I am leaving my review voluntarily. I am blown away that this is the debut novel for this upcoming author.

I was offered the opportunity to ARC read Bloodfire. Thank you Magdalena for giving me the opportunity and welcoming me into Nightmure.

Nightmure isn’t what it seems to be. Neither are Luna and Rulyn for that matter, but that’s to be discussed another time.
You’re going to feel like you’re missing something or somethings for almost half of the book. Then a major part of the plot hits and it all comes together. Technically yes, you were missing things, but that’s because the FMC was missing things. This author found a way to put us in the FMCs shoes, and I love it.
All in all, I loved this book- the banter, the morally grey characters, the fact that no one is quite who they seem to be. I even loved the confusion once everything all came together. It was like a puzzle where I was missing a piece, and once I found it under the couch, I just wanted more.

I absolutely loved reading BloodFire. I am so hooked on Romantasy books and this one fits right in to what I love about Romantasy: magical powers, a mysterious new world, sassy banter, some spice, and every character has their own special personality that makes you love them. I cannot wait for more of this story!
For fans of dark fantasy and dangerous romances, I definitely recommend this book. I am so happy to have it added to my collection on my shelf.

As someone who doesn’t read a lot of fantasy, I REALLY enjoyed Bloodfire. Our FMC, Luna, was feisty, but for good reason. About halfway through, I realized why she was so feisty and I think she was amazing! The world building was awesome, loved the action, and the characters were on point with the story. I’m excited to read the next book!

Bloodfire Review

Solid 4 ⭐️ Read 1.5🌶️ Level

Let me just say, when an author writes the trigger warning page like we have been besties for all our lives…Well then you know this book was going to impact you in some kind of way.

Bloodfire Tropes:
✨Dark Academia
✨Phenomenal FMC (Luna, who is amazingly sassy and quick witted)
✨Fantasy
✨Dark Romance
✨Enemies to Lovers
✨You Touch Her and I quote “…they will not live to see the moon”
✨Gothic

Also, I absolutely love the way this Book is formatted. Not only does not have your typical chapters length, it’s broken down into 5 Parts.

The Luna finds her self being taken to Nightmure. She finds hers drawn to Rulyn who may or may not have similar powers as hers. I will say that as the story is a little slow, but as you read and process with there story there is so much that was revealed. There is a lot of small little queues and Easter eggs that the author leaves that make sense later on in the story or blind glimpses of books to come.

I was able to see the love and dedication that Magadelena put into this book. Also I can’t wait for the second book. 📕

A captivating read!

Bloodfire by Magdalena Nyneve is a captivating read that truly comes to life. While I initially found the world-building a bit dense and a lot to follow, it ultimately wove together beautifully, from the intricate plot to the compelling characters.
Luna Maddox, the FMC, is an absolute firecracker – a true delight to read, even with her occasional tendency to get sidetracked. Her temperament is one of her most engaging qualities. But it's not just Luna; the entire cast, including Rulyn, Adonis-Maxwell, and Nisesh, are incredibly well-crafted. I felt deeply invested in their journeys, experiencing every cut and every tear alongside them.
Despite a few punctuation and grammatical errors scattered throughout, they don't detract significantly from the overall experience. Magdalena Nyneve has done an excellent job bringing Bloodfire to life, and I'm eagerly anticipating what she'll bring to her roster next!
Thank you, Magdalena for allowing me to ARC read this beautiful tale, It was so worth it. Thank you 🫶🏾

I was so lucky to be given this book as an ARC. What a ride this was! The world building was breathtaking, I was there alongside Luna as she fought to understand her new life within Nightmure. Morally gray characters, dark romance and enemies to lovers, this book had it all. The gothic backdrop surrounded by dark forests took me to place where understanding who was friend and who was foe had me guessing until the end. But even then………….

leaves you wanting more

The characters and the story keeps you guessing from
Page 1. There is conflict, enemies to lovers, or are they and the characters development enhances the suspension and the story till the dramatic ending leaves you begging for more. Roll on book two!!

I loved BloodFire! Magdalena has such a unique, lyrical, descriptive way of writing that it gave me When The Moon Hatched vibes! The style took me a little bit of getting used too but once I got into it, the story was excellent and I really enjoyed the world building! I loved all the different magic elements and how the secrets kept getting revealed! The FMC Luna is so badass, and I really enjoyed her character development throughout! I loved that there was a glossary although it's not really needed as Magdalena is excellent at introducing a new element but then explaining it so well! The book ended on such a cliffhanger that I need to know immediately what is going to happen in book two!!

This book gave off Wednesday Addams vibes at the beginning when Luna arrives at a dark and mysterious place called Nightmure. Her last resort school after every single college refused to accept her. Luna knows she has secrets to hide from everyone here in order to protect everyone here. But almost immediately, she comes across someone who might be her match: handsome, silver-haired Rulyn. To her dismay, as much as she hates him, Luna ends up wanting him. And their lives become intertwined in a way that she never expected.

While trying to uncover the secrets of Nightmure and the changes that are rapidly happening within herself, Luna befriend Maxwell, someone she thinks could be a true friend. But he has secrets of his own.

This story was action-packed from the beginning. So many twists and turns. The battle scenes in the last half of the book had an Avatar (Avatar Airbender cartoon reference, not the blue-people Avatar) vibe to them, which was really cool. The descriptions in all of these scenes brought everything to life and really made you feel like you were there in the action.

In the end, who can Luna trust? Can she save herself? Can she get all the answers she so desperately needs to fully understand herself and all the changes she's going through? Can she master her power to set everything right?

This debut novel ate an left no crumbs (Ok I cringed at myself when I typed that lol) It was fantastic! While I felt it was a little slow to start, it had me hooked once it got going, and now I’m fully invested in this world and these characters. The banter? Sharp. The tension? Delicious. If you’re a fan of enemies to lovers with morally grey leads, this is one you don’t want to miss. The spice was spicing😮‍💨Luna absolutely stole the show for me. She’s powerful, complex, and holds her ground in a world that clearly wants to break her. And our MMC? Dangerous in all the right ways which makes their dynamic intense and just perfection. I can not wait to see where this journey takes us! Magdalena is definitely one to keep an eye on!

Bloodfire, a captivating gothic fantasy novel, intertwines a dark romance with a hint of dark academia. Lighter than some darker reads, its poetic flair crafts a beautifully melancholic cadence that immediately captivates. The gradual unfolding of secrets from a gentle beginning allures you deeper into its realm. Luna, a formidable protagonist, is accompanied by a dynamic ensemble. If you yearn for magic, enigma, and morally intricate characters, this exceptional treasure is a must-read. Bloodfire is a spellbinding blend of gothic fantasy and dark romance, wrapped in the moody atmosphere of dark academia. I don’t feel it heavy as some of the dark books I’ve read, this story is feels more mysterious and intriguing. Absolutely captivating and the lyrical style of the writing made me go deeper into the story and its characters.

I especially loved the use of poetic passages to highlight emotional moments, it gave the story a beautifully moody rhythm. Combined with its five-parts structure and short chapters, the book becomes incredibly immersive. I caught myself asking why, how, and then, WHAT. Everything came into perfect place. I love books which make feel, think, ask, but above all, I love books that make me dream. Bloodfire did all of that.

Though the pacing starts slow, it builds with purpose. Each layer reveals more clues, secrets, and glimpses of a bigger world that pays off as you go. The story feels deeply intentional and heartfelt. Luna the FMC is powerful and unforgettable, and the side characters truly bring the world to life. Luna’s inner world is mesmerizing, she made me wore her shoes through her fears, insecurities, her love and passion, and the way she confronted her emotions. She is the kind of friend I love, those special and unique people who bring magic into life.

If you love magic, mystery, hidden powers, and morally grey characters, this one’s for you. Highly recommend!
