A year ago, Corwin Richards’ life turned upside when his parents died and he became a werewolf. All he knows is how to be the carefree bachelor, a facade quickly disintegrating under the weight of Corwin’s grief. Passing the time with a different woman every weekend doesn’t cut it when the wolf inside him begs for a mate, and Corwin can’t keep a girlfriend longer than a month.
Sophia Morgenstern came to Haven’s Point in search of a fresh start. As the middle child and only daughter, she’d never see leadership in the patriarchal Morgenstern pack. Here, she can be Sophia, wedding planner and new business owner, without worrying what her father or brothers might say. Planning the wedding of the local alpha, Rhys Maddox, will ensure her financial success — or send her fleeing back to Boston.
What starts as a one night stand quickly turns into something more, the attraction between Sophia and Corwin undeniable. But Morgenstern family secrets follow Sophia to Haven’s Point, threatening the tenuous friendship between the two neighboring packs, with Corwin at its center. Will these revelations lead to more tragedy? Can Corwin and Sophia put pack politics aside to nurture the bond between them?
Revisiting Haven's Point was a great time. I really enjoyed the first book & book 2 didn't disappoint! The characters feel real. Corwin's growth throughout the book is gradual and satisfying. Having Sophia back as a main character after briefly meeting her in book 1 was a delight. I really enjoyed her character and being a strong female. The romance between the 2 characters was fun and sweet at the same time. Definitely recommend!
The book has a strong base for the story of Corwin and Sofia. This particular story was very slow at repetitive in the first half. Corwin is deeply depressed and stuck in the past and refuses aid. This being constantly repeated decreased my interest to continue reading. Once you get further into the book it gets better. Just be prepared for a slow beginning.
Grounded characters make for an earthy, lovely read especially as they grow through grief and trauma. And of course, who doesn't love a good bachelor party and seeing a villain punished? The story continues to build the world of Havens Point and I cannot wait to see Danger's story!
