This book is made up of stories/accounts by multiple authors. The styles were varied and generally inspirational. I gave it a rating of 4, as not all of the chapters were equally compelling. However, I generally enjoyed the book and found it to be beneficial.
First-Reads review. I would give this a three and a half star rating if possible but felt four wouldn't quite be justified. As the description notes, this book is a collection of personal views, thoughts, and stories formerly published in Guideposts magazine (a Christian faith and fellowship publication) and grouped by the nature of each experience. I think this would make a nice book for a regular Guideposts reader or someone just looking for an easy, accessible faith-based read. Some of the stories are funny and light-hearted while others are more melancholy, but most are just straight-forward pieces of people's lives. They are short and to the point, which make them very effective as quick pick-me-ups; and the book is very well indexed, which makes it easy to flip to a specific section of content or locate a story you want to visit again. I read very little faith-based literature of any sort and haven't set through a church service in years but even I found passages I enjoyed. This might not make the New York Times bestseller list but for an unintimidating Christian collection, it does a good job.
Got this book through Goodreads. I found this to be an amazing book to read. Evenlyn Bence gives us such an insight into what people have seen. She helps us get a glimpe of Jesus through the eyes of young and old. People tell us in their own word of how Jesus has touch them. These collections will touch and inspire you in your own life. I would recommend this for everyone to read. I really enjoyed this book.
