I purchased this book because I have enjoyed other books written by the author. However I was curios about his choice of subject.I could not recall any of Lee's films. When I looked at her credits i found that I had viewed many of the films she had made in the UK.
I found The description of her career at Tank to be most interesting. However I was not particularly interested in her continental films.
Her personal life was rather a mesd. She showed poor judgment in her choice of lover which scandalized her.
Her tragic death in a car accident cut short her life at only 25.
Her permissive life style would be forgotten in the same of the Taylor-Button affair.
Connell tends to go off on a tangent far too often, which leads to full passages. However the illustrations are exceptional. There is one photo of the Cinephone Cinema in Oxford Street which brought back happy memories.
