Harriet Muncaster studied illustration at Norwich University College of the Arts before going on to get an MA in children’s book illustration at the Cambridge School of Art. In creating the art for her first book for children, she was thrilled to have found a good outlet for her lifelong fascination with miniatures. She lives in Hertfordshire, England.
Isadora wins a contest and goes off to a fun trip.
I was so delighted to have a Isadora Moon who goes on vacation! I am celebrating my vacation now (this feels weird as I am writing this before my vacation :P). Though my vacation is not as special as Isadora. 😛 Just relaxing and reading and probably sleeping and hopefully swimming. But that is enough for me as I can use some relaxation after this whole year, well since March.
Isadora decides to draw something special for a contest and she wins. She and her parents (and her sister of course) are off to a tropical location for sun and fun! Isadora is, naturally, hyped and looking forward to it.
Can I just tell you that I love how no one blinks an eye at vampires and fairies? I have yet to see any others who aren’t family but apparently vampires/fairies/other supernatural creatures are normal in this world and that is just the best.
I just love the location and I love reading how much fun Isadora has. And then we also meet Marina again and see that she is staying nearby at an underwater hotel.
The illustrations were fab once again. The style is just the cutest and I love how everything is either pink or black.
However I wasn’t a fan of how the parents kept complaining, good lord you guys won a freaking competition you could be a bit more grateful. Or well, a lot grateful. I get that for neither of you it is something you very like, but look at your daughters. Look at how much fun there is. Come on.
Also the trash. I understand that our world needs our help and that we need to do things, but I read books for relaxation and pleasure and so many books try to put in the message to save the world that I am just getting put off from it so so much. I just want to go back to the time when going to the beach meant going to the beach. Not saving turtles and the beach and the ocean and the world.
But all in all, I had fun reading this one and it definitely brought me in holiday mood!
3.75/5 so far ta cześć najmniej mi się podobała:(( może to wina tego, że tłumaczył mi ją z hiszpańskiego tłumacz google lol (also, the dad is such a loser i love him sm)
A beautiful tale of nature and the horrors humans inflict upon it. Keep our planet clean and do your part to help even if you are on holiday. We only have one planet and we are killing it with the rubbish left behind. A really simple and easy message that was put in a magical way.
A delightful sweet story about a half-vampire, half-fairy girl who, together with her Pink Rabbit, her friend the mermaid and the mermaid's marine unicorn Ocea, and both sets of parents, clears litter from the sea bed at their holiday resort.
This is a book for children, aimed at a first-reading age. The pages are white, thick and smooth. The uncredited typeface is large and pleasantly kerned. It was a real pleasure to read a book with illustrations on every page. The design is beautiful. The illustrations are line drawings with dipped-in colour in greys and pinks. The cover has GLITTER embedded in it.
Drawings and text are beautifully integrated. I was proud to read that the author studied Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art where I myself taught for many years. The drawing style is very 'girly'. It is of a type that I probably would have eschewed when I was the target audience's age. Although, who knows? Such books were simply not around for me at that time. Books had adventurous and intrepid boys, and if they had exciting girls, those girls were not super-'girly' (although theDie Kinder aus Bullerbü Children of Bullerby come close).
This main character is a girly girl, and her mother is a girly mum. Both have long hair, pink clothes, frilly clothes, large eyes with eye lashes. I am happy to note that this aesthetic, coded as feminine, is applied to a girl with agency. You can be a great main character AND be girly! Who knew? And it's the vampire dad in this story who is obsessed with a skin care regime and his coiffure.
Great fun to read a children's book! Lots more where this comes from, too. It's part of a whole series!
Isadora enters a competition to go on a luxurious holiday and wins, though reluctant her parents allow the free holiday. Whilst there she meets her mermaid friend Marina and together start saving the sea and sea animal’s from all the litter.
It was a cute read and I liked that Isadora wants to do more human activities even though she’s a vampire fairy. She was so excited to go on a holiday to see the beach, swim in the sea and have fun.
The story added Marina a mermaid friend of Isadora’s which was a cute addition to the story. I liked how she was really there to start teaching about littering and cleaning up after yourself and how it affects the animal’s that live under the sea.
Another very beautifully illustrated and adorable story in the Isadora world. I always enjoy diving into her world they are such fun and easy reads, a great starting series for young children just getting confident in their reading abilities.

Another deliciously delightful Isadora Moon adventure, irresistible with its signature pink and black artwork! Reunited with Marina the Mermaid, Isadora is quick to learn of the horrors inflicted on our oceans when a baby turtle is discovered tangled in fishing wire.
A magical tale touching on the importance of protecting our planet and wildlife, and being mindful when it comes to rubbish and littering.
Digamos que en la serie solo faltaba el libro sobre cuidar el mar, y helo aquí. Especialmente me gustó que esta lectura fuera corta y sin tanto relleno innecesario, justo como las primeras historias de la serie.
I love this series. This one might be my fave of them all. The importance of looking after the sea and our planet alongside mermaids and cereal box competitions! A wonderful mix
I liked it when she went down to the slide on the cruise. Isadoora Moon didnt tell her mum and dad that she entered a competition that she drew her bunny on the beach with some shells.

Just discovered this at Heathrow W.H. Smith on my way back to the US. Got it for one of my nieces. It's utterly charming and adorable. I am Bartholomew Moon.
I don’t like that there are colours in it.Also I don’t like that there are people that have been spoken about in the next page. The pictures don’t match the words
All Isadora Moon books are great, Isadora Moon books are for first readers. This are the kind of books that make first readers want to read more books, so this books are perfect for the first readers. This especific book give a great message to help the planet. I recommend it too much.
