T.J. Roelyn has written an impressive debut with her novel, 11. This engaging psychological thriller captivated me from start to finish, with a great storyline enriched with suspense and unexpected twists. The ending and final twist really rocked me. I needed this to break me out of the last few disappointing thrillers I've read. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for what Roelyn comes out with next.
This was such an amazing book. Every turn, I was hoding my breath. It definitely did not end the way I thought, but it had a wonderful ending. This story kept me wanting more and I cannot wait for the next book by T. J. Roslyn.
I honestly felt “seen” reading this book. Thank you so much.
I like to think I’m good at predicting the outcome of a book but that definitely didn’t happen here! Such a good plot twist after following along an intriguing way to get there!
This book was really suspenseful, I couldn't put it down. The twists kept me interested and that final one surprised me but still made sense. I liked how it stayed tense but you still connected with the characters. There's actually a lot happening beneath the surface if you read properly. T.J. Roelyn did a nice job wrapping everything up for a debut novel. Good read.
It could have been a good story, I hated the book. It was so obvious Ryan was guilty of something. It was not clear what exactly happened to Clara. The amount of envelopes (all heavy in her hand/bag) she got in such a small amount of time is ridiculous. The timeline is not clear. Why was her mom like that? No reason behind. Why did Clara had a fight with Micah? Also just because. She repeats things like if we could’ve forgot about it (the star ring Clara wore, the scarf in the envelope, the underwear too, etc). She keeps coming home and drop to the floor, stare to nothing and suddenly is late and she’s again leaving. The killed cyclist? Also what was that for? The one she ran off? Same thing. And like that many annoying things.
Plus the writing… OMG. The author cannot write long sentences. She repeated the scenarios so many times (how she get the envelope, how she feels with the envelope, how the mom comes to see her and behaves, how many fucking times Nora asked Ryan for time).
Sorry but this book was a waste of time.

I picked up 11 purely on impulse. Drawn in by its stunning cover, which immediately caught my attention. I’m glad I did, as this turned out to be a fast and engaging read that pulled me in right from the start.
The story centers around Nora, who begins receiving mysterious brown envelopes tied to the disappearance of her sister. This premise instantly intrigued me. The early chapters do a great job building suspense, although I found that the frequent delivery of clues at the beginning could have been more impactful with a bit more restraint. Sometimes less really is more, especially when the message has already landed.
The dynamic with Nora’s mother added a layer of mystery, but her sporadic appearances left me wondering if there was more to her role than what was shared. Did she know more than she let on? Her presence created questions that weren’t fully explored.
What truly made the story resonate for me and saved this from getting a lower rating was Clara’s final letter. It was heartfelt and powerful, and in many ways, it felt like the natural emotional conclusion. While the epilogue aimed to offer another layer of closure or redemption, it didn’t quite carry the same weight after such a strong emotional note from Clara.
That said, T.J. Roelyn’s writing kept me turning pages, and the book delivered a compelling mix of mystery and emotion. I appreciated the author’s ambition and the raw vulnerability in some of the final moments. A solid read that left me thinking, and I look forward to seeing how Roelyn continues to grow as a storyteller. One last note, please no more short clipped sentences
To be honest, I find it a bit difficult. I don’t really know how I feel about this book, and it actually took me a whole day to figure out what to write or how to even put it into words.
Let’s start with the good stuff — I loved the idea behind this book. The story itself, the concept, and especially the message really hit home. I completely agree with it: don’t keep it all to yourself. That part felt honest and important. It’s also a super quick read — I finished it in just over an hour, which is always a nice bonus.
But… here comes the “but.” I think I loved Help so much that this one ended up feeling a bit disappointing to me personally. It almost read like it was written in a rush — everything moved so fast that it was hard to really settle into the story. And it was, honestly, one of the most predictable books I’ve ever read.
That said, I still think it’s worth reading for the message alone. That’s what gives it weight, and that’s what makes it stick a little. I just wish I’d loved it more — the way I loved Help. But hey, we can’t have it all, can we?
First let me say I am no literary genius nor do I wish to discourage the author or readers but I must give my honest opinion. I had a hard time getting into this book. It seemed to have too much detail and repetition of those details. Instead I would have liked to know more about the characters and their relationships with each other. It was an interesting story line though but I had it figured out early on. Although it was not spellbinding it wasn't boring it was a quick read and I would recommend it to other readers. I understand this is a debut book by this author and she is off to a good start.
In 11, T.J. Rowlyn delivers a taut, haunting psychological thriller that grips you from the first page and refuses to let go. It’s been 11 months since Clara vanished without a trace. Was it a runaway? A kidnapping? Or something far worse? Nora is left with no answers—until envelopes marked simply “11” start arriving, each containing cryptic clues that may finally unravel the truth.
What follows is a chilling, atmospheric descent into memory, guilt, obsession, and the unshakable bond between twins. As secrets begin to surface and timelines blur, Rowlyn builds tension with sharp chapters and eerie twists that keep you second-guessing every theory.
Each clue peels back a layer, revealing not only what happened that night, but how much we really know about the ones we love—even those who seem closest. And just when you think you’ve solved it... you haven’t.
If you're a fan of Gillian Flynn, Paula Hawkins, or psychological thrillers that play with your perception of truth and memory, 11 is a must-read. Dark, emotional, and relentlessly suspenseful.
This was dramatic (in a good way). I love how fast paced it is. Makes for an easier read. While a lot of this I felt was predictable the ending got me! didn't see that coming! Wasn't a huge fan of not knowing the timeline. In the beginning I thought we were still on the same day when in all actuality weeks had passed. but that's just me being picky. There's a couple pieces at the end that aren't realistic for reality but it's fiction! Overall I found this to be a fun read!
This was such a good read. I was hooked from being to and. There was so much suspense it had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. There were so many twists I didn’t see coming! Highly recommend
Arc review. There seemed to be some predictability but … also a lot of twists that did make me question if I was actually right. The ending .. I didn’t see that coming … I do have a lot of questions I need answers to because I feel like there is a little unfinished business, but that could just be me.
Uh, 3.5⭐️ because, for me, the story was a bit predictable at times, but it still managed to keep me hooked and on the edge of my seat. I ended up finishing it in just one day because it was so engaging, despite the predictable moments.
The twists were so good, I could not have guessed them. This book made me think it was resolved midway through and then bit me with curveballs. I hope there will be a second one! Think thirteen reasons why but 11 and it’s still not what you expect.
Loved loved loved this story!! T. J. masterfully wove a web of suspense and had me stuck in it til the very last page!! 🕸️ The twists are 🤯 There were moments when my mouth literally hung open!! Get your hands on this one as soon as you can. You will be so glad you did. I will anxiously be awaiting your next book🤩🎉🎊🙌🏻
Thank you for the ARC. This was a quick read and held my attention. Part were a bit predictable but over all I enjoyed this book. I really felt for Nora, losing her twin sister. I found the envelopes of clues to be an interesting way to solve this. Will there be a part two with the way it ended….
ARC REVIEW Wow, what a rollercoaster! This story had me feeling everything from heart-pounding suspense, emotional gut punches, to moments that made me want to yell at my Kindle. I was practically begging the FMC to just make a decision already even though I knew how impossible it was. We need a book 2. I have to know what happens next!
Read this book in one day!! Eleven months after her twin vanishes, Nora follows cryptic clues that unravel dark secrets and unbelievable truths about her sister—and herself. This book is a shocking and unpredictable story of secrets, lies, and sisterhood where clues lead you to the jaw-dropping finale. You won't want to miss this one! (Also, Roelyn's upcoming second book "Help!" should be added to your TBR pile.)
I was able to read an ARC of 11 and I am SO glad I did. This is a gripping and fast paced thriller where you can feel Nora's emotions, fears, and frustrations and you suspect anyone that she encounters. You'll root for her, yell at her, and want to cry with her, in no specific order.
I would have never guessed this book is T.J. Roelyn's debut novel as she had me hooked from the very first page... as if she's been writing forever!
I am hoping there will be a sequel and, even if not, this author has gained a new loyal reader!
What a great debut book ! As the story goes on, you feel the suspense building and building so much it makes your chest feel tight. Well written and absolutely gripping. I really liked the main character. When I was reading the final chapter, I felt like, oh, this should have been the epilogue, great way to end it. But then I read the epilogue and it made sense.
I was sent this book early by the author and after reading so many great reviews I knew I had to get started right away. This thriller had so many twists and turns throughout the entire story and I genuinely didn’t know what was coming next! Super fun short thriller to help anyone out of a slump!
Maybe I have read too many psycho thrillers that this one just didn't give me any feels. I got tired of the short clipped sentences, the random observations, the expected stream of consciousness monologues. At some point I started skipping paragraphs to just get to the actual happenings. Suspenseful yet underwhelming till the end.
Nora's twin sister has been missing for 11 months when cryptic envelopes begin arriving—each one containing clues that could unravel the mystery. But who is sending them… and why now?
This fast-paced thriller kept me suspicious of everyone. The author’s vivid, detailed writing style pulls you in and paints every scene with intensity. It’s a quick, intriguing read packed with mystery, suspense, and an epic twist ending that I did not see coming.
