Rate this book
An overworked man, a runaway socialite, and a secret.

Penelope wanted to get away from the push to get married to the man her father wanted. She felt there were more people and places out in the world to get to know. She set out with her lady's maid to seek out those things, never knowing she would be walking into a life that she would want to keep, if her family would only allow it.
Baxter had been working for years building his dairy farm. There was never any time for himself but his aunt wanted more for him, so she pushed him to seek out a wife. Little did he know that, by agreeing to her silly plan to stop her pushing, he would end up finding the woman he truly wanted. But was she his to have?

One lifetime, two people from different worlds. If their worlds collided, would it destroy them or make the perfect match?

Reading Potato Salad by Penelope was a pleasure. Penelope wants to see more of the world. She is tired of being a socialite and the fake friends. Her father is pushing her into a marriage, that she doesn't want. He agrees to let her see the world, than come back to wed. She takes her lady's maid with her and they set off. Along the way she generously helps out at a diner in Pennsylvania. She meets Baxter there again. They had met before on route, but become closer. A strange contest, that they are both roped into is happening and the winner will be announced soon. I have to say that if I could I would have given this story a 4.5 star rating, but it wasn't an option. Delightful!
I was given a copy of the book by the author for an honest review.

A little disappointed!!

This was such an incredible story. Full of all kinds of wonderful emotions and experiences. Baxter and Penelope’s story really needs a little more depth and finishing. It needs an epilogue ending! Or it needs a sequel to finish were they end up and how their future evolves.

I rounded up but I’d give this book 4 1/2 stars only because it needed an epilogue. The storyline was great though and I enjoyed it a lot. Read it in one afternoon. Penelope, a socialite just wanted to experience life before settling down to get married. She didn’t seem to get too far but found a place and a community she loved.
