Olivia Barrett believes in destiny. In determinism. In the certainty that her life’s path is already written.
But when a deadly explosion destroys her university lab — and kills the professors she accused of misconduct — Olivia becomes the FBI’s prime suspect.
Forced into an uneasy alliance with Rachel Quinn, an FBI bomb specialist who believes in free will above all else, Olivia is pulled into a relentless investigation, a growing body count, and a series of disturbing events that suggest time itself may be slipping.
As the past and future tangle around them, Olivia and Rachel must unravel a killer’s plan before fate seals their own.
A mind-bending thriller of fate, obsession, and how far one person will go to rewrite the past.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“Mindblowing read!!! This story kept me guessing and invested throughout — I was tired, but couldn’t stop reading. A must read.” — BookSirens reviewer
Lynn M. Kristopher writes genre-bending thrillers that explore obsession, identity, and the eerie space between what is and what could be. Her debut novel, Fixed Point, blends psychological suspense with speculative twists, challenging the boundaries of fate and free will.
With layered characters, mounting tension, and a taste for the uncanny, Kristopher’s work lingers long after the final page. Her writing is shaped by the psychological depth of Thomas Harris, the clever plotting of Agatha Christie, the eerie atmosphere of Shirley Jackson and Edgar Allan Poe, the sharp, existential humor of Kurt Vonnegut, the dystopian insight of George Orwell — and a dash of Blake Crouch’s genre-bending style.
When she’s not writing, she’s usually found chasing strange questions, hoarding notebooks, or rewatching The X-Files in the shadowy corners of central Florida — far from the beachgoers and sunshine.
That is the question this story attempts to answer. To be honest, I really had to pay attention to the story in order to keep track of all the twists and turns in the plot. This is very well-written and the plot was obviously well thought out.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Reading Fixed Point took me on a journey through time. The fast paced adventure held my attention through out the entire journey. I devoured this book trying to read faster and faster for the conclusion. There were character twists and developments that I was not prepared to unfold.
Fixed point follows two main characters. One trying to solve a bombing and the pleading her innocence. The doubtful FBI agent learns there is more to our world than what meets the eye. Time travel is very real and possible. Her suspect holds the key to her entire investigation. No one can change their fate. You cannot change anything.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this book as an ARC read. I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure.
Mindblowing read!!!! This was a brilliant story that kept me guessing and invested throughout the story. I was tired, but I needed more and kept reading until I finished this. I sat in silence processing it and letting it soak in. This is the type of book I love. It felt so full of possibilities and promises that resonated with me. A must read. Twisted Time Thriller Anyone who has watched and remembers, or even the commercials, will know the reference to the name 'Mulder'. That was a dead giveaway that this would not be a simple, straightforward story, and it was not! It kept me going at every change to know that it was not over, yet. Right up to the end, and is it over...? I loved the passion for the work, safety, knowledge, and wanting to know what they do not remember, and why it just does not 'feel right'. Thank you, Lynn M. Kristopher, for a great story! I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Do you believe in destiny? That is controls everything that happens to you? Olivia Barrett does. She believes her path was set for her when she was born. Olivia becomes an FBI most wanted when her university lab blows up and the professor she has previously accused of misconduct is killed int he explosion. Olivia becomes fast friend with Rachel Quinn, the FBI bomb expert in a desperate attempt to clear her name.
It took me a long time to get into the book, but at some point this changed and I couldn't put it down. At first it felt repetitive and no hook. Once the storyline became more interesting it was a much easier and enjoyable read.

A mind-bending thriller of fate, obsession, and how far one person will go to rewrite the past. Fixed Point is a convoluted mystery full of twists and turns. Do you believe in free will? Or do you believe that we are fated to walk an unknown but unbreakable path?
FIXED POINT - This turned out to be a difficult to read book with its unrealistic law procedures, sometimes weird dialog, and jumping back and forth. The characters aren't anyone that is likeable, which isn't a requirement. At least, the vulgar language is infrequent and not used by every character. It took a while for the story to roll, but that's when the unprofessional behavior began by Rachel, the FBI agent. The book sounded better than read, average storytelling, although, the last few chapters were more interesting th as n the majority of the book. Source: Booksprout. 3*
