Shadows In Blood

Rate this book
Justice Bloodmoon thought she knew everything there was to know about vampires and the supernatural. So when tests confirm Zac Creature is much more than just a vampire, it forces their relationship into new uncharted territory.

Then, when Yuri’s pleas for help bleed into Justice’s dreams, she realizes Malachi might be weaker now, but he is far from gone. Bound by an ancient curse and haunted by shadows of his past, Yuri begs Justice for help to exorcise the demon before it forces him to kill again.

Briar’s magic is just one of the keys required to help unlock the power to defeat Malachi. Only by merging their magical abilities with help from the Blood Moon, and the combined powers of the Athena and the Phantom Disc, can they finally attempt to release Malachi’s grip on Yuri’s soul.

But, as always, victory comes at a heavy price, and trying to save Yuri could mean destroying him too. If they fail—Malachi won’t just take Yuri down with him—he’ll do whatever it takes to burn down everyone and everything Justice has left to fight for.

Shadows in Blood is the 3rd and final book in the Bloodmoon and Creature Series A Dark Paranormal Fantasy Romance by Lara Bruni.

Justice Bloodmoon had thought that she already knew that she knew everything there was to know about vampires and the supernatural. Then tests confirmed that Zac Creature was so much more than just a vampire, and that realization forces their relationship into new uncharted territory.

Then Justice’s dreams are invaded by Yuri’s pleas for help and Justice realizes that Malachi may be weaker now, but she has to face the reality that he is far from gone. Yuri’s bound by this ancient curse and is haunted by shadows of his past, and Justice knows she has to find a way to help exorcise the demon before it forces Yuri to kill yet again.

Briar’s magic is just one key that’s required that will be needed to help unlock the power to defeat Malachi. Together by merging their magical abilities, gaining help from the Blood Moon, combining power of the Athena and the Phantom Disc, then they can finally attempt to release Malachi’s grip on Yuri’s soul.

But victory always comes with a heavy price, and they all know that in trying to save Yuri it could mean that they destroy him in the process. And if they fail – they know that Malachi isn’t going to just take Yuri down - they all know that Malachi will do whatever is in his power to burn down everyone and everything Justice has left in the world to fight for.

And so here we are at the conclusion of the Bloodmoon & Creature Trilogy. I love Lara Bruni’s writing and I have fallen in love with every book that she’s written. And Shadows in Blood is no different. I have loved every book in this trilogy and while I’m sad that this series is over, I’m not sad that I got the chance to read it.

Lara did such a stunning job with the storyline, the plot, and the subplot. You can tell that the storyline, plot and subplot was strung through the entire series and it was thought out and planned and it was executed perfectly.

I absolutely loved the characters. Lara did a fantastic job with the character development, she fleshed out each of the characters, ensured that the characters had the room to grow and develop through the series and they were given these incredible character arcs through each of the books.

Even the secondary characters were given fantastic character arcs, they were fleshed out, they had their own personalities and they were they for a purpose and they helped to ensure that the story moved forward with purpose and didn’t move backwards or stagnate.

If you haven’t started this series yet then you really need to get on it and start with book one and start this series ASAP or at least get it on your TBR. This is a fantastic series. The writing is stunning and the storyline is one that you’ll remember and you’re going to want to re-read this series after you have finished it.

This series has been one of the best series I've read in 2025. It's such a phenomenal read that I've been hooked to from the start. Lara bruni is a one click author for me. I will always grab her books, her mind is very fascinating.

Once I picked up shadows in blood I couldn't stop reading it. I was hooked from start to finish. It's such a rollercoaster ride with twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat. It's action packed, spicy and full of mystery.

Lara definitely knows how to bring her characters and there stories to life. Her writing is fantastic and has you hooked on every word.

Highly recommend.

Shadows in Blood is the final installment in the Bloodmoon & Creature series. I’m sad that this is the final book and I have to say goodbye to it. This was a book I couldn’t put down.

There is so much happening in this one dark magic, high stakes, and nonstop tension. I love the characters and how deep the story is. The suspense had me on edge the entire time. The world building only got stronger with each book of this Trilogy, and I cannot wait to read my next Lara Bruni book!

As always, be mindful of trigger warnings. What I like, you may not.

Happy Reading!

Finality

I started with book#1 and enjoyed it to the point of reading the entire series. If you are looking for a paranormal with a 3/5level of spice, this series is for you. Not too over the top with the lovey dovey and plenty of action outside of the bedroom too.
