On the field, I protect my zone like my life depends on it. Off the field, I like to have a little fun.
My last year at Walker University was supposed to be about football, family, and hanging out with my boys. I had it all under control—until her. Emma, the stunning blonde, who intercepts my heart and changes the game. Mysterious, enchanting, unforgettable. One night with her wasn’t nearly enough.
I searched everywhere, but the campus might as well have swallowed her whole.
Just when I thought I’d never see her again, she shows up on my doorstep… pregnant with my baby.
Now I’m playing for keeps, ready to prove to her that I’m no longer the notorious playboy around campus, and I'm more than my stats and headlines. The stakes are higher, the obstacles tougher—but now, there's something far more important than a championship.
It's about securing my future. My family. My girl.

Well this was adorable. Normally I’m not a huge fan of accidental pregnancy, but honestly Archie and Emma won me over pretty quickly. And for the fact that both of them were in college, the way they connected was very impressive and drew me in immediately.
✨ College Football ✨ Accidental Pregnancy ✨ He Falls First ✨ She plays golf ✨ Found Family
Admittedly I’m a sucker for sports romance and I have an extra soft spot for golf in Romance books, so I’m totally in love with this one. Emma was such a great FMC and j really liked her, but Archie. Archie made the book for me! I loved him.
This man was all in from the word go. And he wanted Emma just as much as he wanted that baby! He was perfect. He showed up, he listened to what Emma needed, and he took the time to fall in love with who she was as a person and not just the mother of his child.
The spice started off with a ONS bang, and when they finally caught back up and started falling for each other, it got even better! This man had a pretty dirty mouth and I was here for it.
I also love this friend group and Archie’s family, like I will beg for more of them. I can’t wait to see what is next and I keep loving this series more and more with every book!
Okay wow, this was not good. I swear I cannot trust you arc readers. I love a surprise pregnancy book and I saw this recommended by a bookstagram girly and the reviews were so good I had to try it. Y’all lied to me.
This book was about as basic as basic can be. There was no character development, the smut overshadowed the plot, and the plot that was there was uninteresting.
To start, the author gives us a fully developed MMC. He’s the perfect boyfriend from the jump. He’s sweet, loyal, and willing to do anything for his girl. He’s a very likable character but he’s perfect from the start so there’s no room for this character to grow.
The FMC is a bit selfish and seems to take without giving anything in return. She doesn’t let our MMC tell his friends or family about her or the baby so they spend the first half of the book in a secluded bubble. She puts all her needs above his. Then towards the end she has a teeny tiny bit of character development when she shows up at a very important football game for him. I was baffled by how this character is only at this point realizing that she needs to support him. Really?! Then when she’s like okay, I’ll meet your friends it’s too late. This character was just annoying. Also, she makes a big deal about being a doctor and not losing her priorities for him and honestly that’s fine but guess what…. Is there a mention of her becoming a doctor in the epilogue or anywhere else? Nope. This major plot point is just forgotten by the end.
I thought the side characters were under utilized and under developed.
Lastly, sooooooo many chapters start with, “The last few weeks have been busy”. I was like wow, didn’t I just read that? I think the author needed to mix it up a bit.
It was fine. It was nothing special. There was alot about it I didn’t like or found contradictory, but I like the trope in general.
For things I didn’t like, the relationship didn’t seem like love from the female MCs side. The author also contradicted things about her personality. It starts out she’s on the prowl at a party where she’s pointed out multiple men she’s hooked up with but wants someone knew because she doesn’t like hooking up with the same person more than once incase they get feelings. Then when the father asks if she’s sure it’s his she’s like “I know you’re a hookup person but I’m not really a hookup person” ??? Yes you are. Thats literally how the book starts and how you got pregnant lol
Then the way they make golf seem like it’s such a hard sport. I’m sure it’s hard to get hole in ones or whatever. But they’re treating it like she’s an athlete equivalent to him (a pro football player lol) and that she’s in such good shape from being a college athlete??? She plays golf. My fat dad played golf too lol tf that got to do with being in shape.
Oh and at the end of this book they named the baby “Lainey Sunny” ?? That’s a terrible name. Why does both the first and middle name end in Y?? What
Zone Protection by Ava Sutton happens to be one of those remarkable titles that gives you comfortable feelings and butterflies at the same time! It's tremendously emotional!!! College football's golden boy, Archie Griffith, is humorous, naturally magnetic, and never caught again with the same lady, however, the world slightly tilts as he looks at Emma at a party, ×earing a golf cap, she has elegance, intelligence, and an enigmatic fire that snatches breath without asking! . Like a lightning strike that stuns more than just the heart, their one night is stunning and unforgettable, and for Archie, it seems like the entire campus turns black when she disappears! His heart aches from not knowing her name and from feeling something original but it slipping through your fingertips... until she reappears, this time bearing news that completely changes his world!!! . Instead of chaotic condition an unexpected style of comfort follows that moment, Archie assumes the role with kindness, abandoning his collegiate playboy character with ease, with each text message, each hand held, and each promise made, his excitement is unfiltered, sincere, and exploding off the page, for her part, Emma is a model of self-control and bravery, her quiet boldness and terror are really intriguing to read, her personality was extremely compulsive because she allowed herself to melt in Archie's adhere to without ever sacrificing her own will! . The romance is entertaining, it's sweet like southern iced tea on a front porch, but it's also energetic! Archie is amazing, savouring every second of Emma's pregnancy and admiring her decisions, body, and intellect, you sense that he speaks of their future as though it were already sacred, they have a refreshing, fluid, and honest communication style, which is so uncommon and lovely in college romance! Emma gets up, regains her composure, and comes to trust this man who is totally committed the moment he hears the word "pregnant." Every page features yearning, but it's not the terrible sort actually, it's something that makes you smile and gives you hope that love can still feel this definite and secure! . Zone Protection written by my favourite Author Ava Sutton is an absorbing love story that never loses its elegance or its momentum, irrespective of whether it is set in a delivery room, a football pitch or a golf course! It surrounds you with friendliness, laughter, riveting pain, and tenderness! Archie is a perfect model of a fictional father, he is interested, committed, perceptive, and emotionally fluid, his kindness is perfectly paired by Emma's inner grit and piercing grace! It's amazing to watch them deal with youthful love, new fatherhood, and college ambition! The sense of connection is what creates an impact that lasts, even though the spiciness is just enough to make your cheeks burn and your heart miss a beat, this is a masterpiece romance, I really had no doubt that Ava will surpass the high bar from Counter Play, Counter Play was really epic and a wonderful romance book but Zone Protection is now my favorite!!!
Archie, Archie, Archie the man you are 😫😫😫 I would not have changed a SINGLE thing about him. He was perfection wrapped up in one hunky college bow. The way that he was 100% ALL-IN with Emma no matter what made me fall in love with him. He was so excited and supportive and did whatever he could to make sure Emma was always comfortable and happy. Daddy Archie has entered the chat and set the bar high for all other daddies.
Their communication was TOP-TIER. Especially for being busy college-aged adults. They were open to talk and work through their issues and it was so refreshing to see.
Emma was the perfect match for Archie. He needed someone to match his *vibes* and she was definitely up for the challenge.
Tropes: ✨️ Accidental Pregnancy ✨️ College Football Romance ✨️ One Night Stand ✨️ Reformed Playboy
This is the second book in this impressive series, and this is Archie and Emma’s story. Archie is in his final year at university, and he just wants it to be about football, family, and hanging out with his friends, until Emma walks in. They have a 1-night stand, results in an unexpected surprise. Archie wants to prove to Emma that he is a reformed playboy, as they navigate and get accustomed to their new situation. This is a beautifully written story which is an easy to read, slow burn story, with family, friendships, emotions, humor, witty banter, making choices, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and captivating, football romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Archie is everything! What a man he is! He was head over ass for Emma before he even knew he knocked her up. I loved seeing their progression and maybe a spoiler, but was so happy there was no 3rd act break up. I kept wondering what the drama could be cause they were just to cute. They could not keep their hands or eyes off each other.
I love an accidental pregnancy, and Ava delivers a great story with amazing characters that will have you loving them so much. But you also get sports, reformed playboy, one night stand, he falls first set in college. If you enjoy new adult/college romance, this one will be perfect to read.
Archie and Emma have great chemistry and love that is so sweet. You don't have to wait for the steam on this one! And these two are so good together in every way. They have this balance that works for them. Archie is a playboy and changes his ways when he meets the one that he can't get off his mind. Emma is avoiding any commitment and doesn't easily fall for Archie's charm.
I really enjoy this series and I can't wait for more from Ava!
I flew through this book! I enjoyed how sweet, fun, and spicy it was! It even hit me in the feels a couple of times.
Archie and Emma were perfect together- just ask Archie! From the moment they met, the chemistry came full force. After an off the charts hot one night stand, Archie couldn’t get Emma off his mind-whereas she never expected to see him again, staying focused on school and her golf team-until two lines and some nausea changed all that!
This story was low angst, but absolutely packed a punch in the storyline and romance department. I had a smile on my face basically the entire time. There was no denying their connection-there is an easy comfort between them, but they also put in the work needed.
I loved Archie, he falls hard and fast and was all in with Emma-gone is the campus playboy! You could feel his excitement for what their future held and how much he cared for her. Cue the swooning on every page. Emma was wonderful, her fears, worries and struggles were realistic. As much as I wanted her to make some different decisions-I understood her thoughts and the way Archie made her feel brave and safe was the icing on the cake.
Seeing all the time they spent together, getting to know one another, communicating well and building a strong foundation was great. They were a fantastic match and let’s not forget steamy!
This author gave us a wonderful romance for Archie and Emma, with well researched topics and experiences. This story was everything I could ask for from a light, well-paced, accidental pregnancy, college sport romance!
4.25⭐️
*Thank you to the author for the copy of this book. This review and its opinions are my own
Man what an emotional and amazing book. I loved this so much and there were many things in this I loved. They had extreme chemistry and the heat was off the charts. Their story was perfection and let me tell you he was the epitome of the perfect man. A great read.
This book. Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved it so much. I couldn’t put it down, I simply loved the characters, and their story was just perfect. This book delivers on all the feels—sweet, emotional, and totally unputdownable. I cried during the beginning of the book. It was so emotional
These two were perfect for each other. Archie is 100% swoon worthy!
Archie and Emma’s story kicks off with instant chemistry at a college party and one unforgettable night. That is until a surprise pregnancy twist that flips everything for both of them. From that moment, Archie is all in with absolutely no hesitation. You never know how accidental pregnancy will play out, but Archie’s transformation felt genuine and heartfelt. He showed up for Emma and their future with so much care, support, and swoon-worthy devotion. As well as Emma showed up for him. For being college kids, they were written maturely.
Their connection was effortless. They had fun, tackled challenges together, and built a relationship rooted in mutual respect and ambition. Which I loved! I loved how they supported each other’s dreams, even as life threw unexpected curveballs. No matter at what cost.
The parents in this book were great. They handled the news well and supported them without questioning them too much. I love a good father’s love and this book delivered that from both characters.
Ava has simply became one of my favorite authors. She is also now an auto buy author for me too. I simply love her writing and stories. I can’t wait to see what else comes from her soon.
This story was everything. If you're into surprise baby + college sports romance with a golden-hearted hero, Zone Protection is a must-read! I am tell you, you will not be disappointed at all with this book.
Ava - thank you thank you thank you! Thank you for trusting me with an eARC of this book. I loved it. Thank you for putting up with all my messages as well. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Thank you Wordsmith as well for this book!
Zone Protection is the second book in the Walker University stallions series. Archie was absolutely everything! I generally don't care for a reformed playboy trope but I liked the way this one was done. As soon as he laid eyes on Emma at a party, he was done for. One night of fun lead to a surprise baby. He wanted more of her and then she shows back up.. must be fate! I loved how he jumped right in. He wanted to take care of Emma & their baby. I loved the easy comfort they developed with each other. They balanced each other out so perfectly and were just so GOOD together!! I loved how they both supported each other’s dreams and worked together to still make their dreams come true even with their circumstances. I loved seeing their happy ending. 💖
What to expect: 🩺One Night Stand 🏈Accidental Pregnancy 🩺Reformed Playboy 🏈Football Player MMC x Golfer FMC 🩺No 3rd Act Break Up
This one releases June 27. Thank you so much to Ava Sutton for this ARC!
I have no problem being vocal about my apprehension and usual dislike of the accidental pregnancy/surprise baby trope. Most of the time, not my bag. However, when it's done right, I can get on board pretty easily and for me it usually depends on the MMC and their handling of the situation. Archie Griffith, the sweet talking, southern charmer stole my heart in book 1 and he completely ran away with it in this book. He was EVERYTHING anyone could ever need in a book boyfriend/surprise daddy. He was so loyal, completely devoted to Emma and the baby from the jump, immediately dropping his former playboy ways. He was totally enamored with Emma from their first interaction and I loved the way he couldn't get enough of her. He is so supportive and does his absolute most to ensure that Emma feels safe and protected and ADORED. Immediate spice, Ava does not waste ANY time giving us the goods, and man, OH MAN is it good. Archie and his filthy mouth is an IMMEDIATE yes for me, a reformed playboy gets me every. single. time. Loved this one! 4.5/5 stars!
WHAT TO EXPECT: **One night stand **Accidental pregnancy **Golden retriever MMC **College sports romance **Strangers to lovers **Found family **Reformed playboy

What to expect: 🌻 Accidental Pregnancy 🌻 He Falls First 🌻 One Night Stand 🌻 Reformed Playboy 🌻 New Adult/College 🌻 Football Romance
This book is utter perfection! Archie Griffith is so TOP FREAKING TIER! I fell so hard and fast for him. He is what book boyfriend dreams are made of. Emma is full of sass and wit and her banter with Archie is so freaking cute.
What really stole the show in this book is the way Archie loves and cares for Emma. He was 1000% in as soon as he found out she was pregnant. The way he supported her and gave her the safety and assurance she needed had me in a puddle on the floor. The man is the greenest of 🟢 flags!
And don't even get me started on their chemistry. Holy hotness!! I reread every one of those 🌶️ scenes! The mixture of his dirty talking and calling her Darlin' was so so good 🥵 Like excuse me sir, where can I get one of you?!
I can't wait for the next two books in the Walker University Statllions series!
Did Ava Sutton write an accidental pregnancy for her second book EVER- that was a complete BANGER??!
She sure did! Did I love everything about it?! I SURE DID.
Archie & Emma are both written so well in the book. The FMC is driven, focused and a rule follower. She plays golf on a scholarship and has one goal- to be a doctor. When she winds up in the campus playboys bed after needing a night to blow off some pent up energy.. he wasn’t supposed to make her feel all kinds of things.
Archie is my kinda Texas boy through & through. We get to see kind of a flash forward with him in book one… always missing stuff and gone from the house- and I love how Ava wrote it into the story to tell about where he was then!! Turns out the night he hooked up with Emma Tucker not only rocked his world in the bedroom but ended up rocking his entire life…
This isn’t your typical new adult accidental pregnancy romance book where the MMC freaks out and pushes the FMC away… no, this is the HOLY GRAIL OF BOOK BOYFRIENDS.
This is respect. This is what do you need from me. This is what can I do for you. This ladies and gents is ARCHIE FREAKIN GRIFFITH, DARLIN’.
- accidental pregnancy - reformed playboy - new adult/college - he falls first
NEW BOOK BOYFRIEND ALERT!!! Archie Griffith stole my heart and I will gladly let him keep it!
Archie Griffith is a star football player for Walker University. He’s a playboy. A walking thirst trap. Every girl wants him. Until Archie meets Emma at a party and they end up tangled up in the sheets. He wakes up the next morning and all he has is her first name the memory of that one night. About eight weeks later Emma shows up at his door step and Archie is elated to see her. The girl that blew his mind showed up to blow his mind again for a different reason…. I’m pregnant. Can Archie prove that he can be more than just a pretty face?
I ate this book up in one sitting. Ava spectacularly captured my attention immediately. Archie was all in for Emma right from the start. This man was so supportive and excited to be a dad. His happy spirit had me smiling the whole time. I loved Emma how strong and driven she was. She matched Archie so perfectly. The banter and spice were all superb. I highly recommend this book. You will fall as hard as I did for this couple.
Tropes : accidental pregnancy, college football, one night stand, reformed playboy, good girl.
LOVED THIS! Archie Griffith is THE MAN! The greenest cinnamon roll I’ve ever seen. When he calls her Darlin’ 🫠 No 3rd act breakup 👏🏻 He has a dirty dirty mouth. SPICYYYYYY SO GOOD! I absolutely loved their story. Archie and Emma were so good together.
I absolutely devoured this book!! I love Archie and Emma’s story. I know I’m gonna read a good book when I cry at the prologue and the end. It was so well written. You have so many things to love in this book. This book has one night stand, accidentally pregnancy, love at first sight, many swoony moments, found family, football, and golf. If you love sports romance you will love this book. I caught myself smiling and kicking my feet when Archie was talking! You also have spicy scenes! I highly recommend and can’t wait for the next book in this universe 💚🏈🏌️♀️🤰🏼
OMG! This book was so good. Hot cowboy who is also a star football player, say less!! Beautiful golfer who is also premed, I can’t get enough! I loved getting to watch Emma and Archie grow in their relationship while being student athletes. The heat and passion between these two is next level 🌶️🌶️🌶️. This book takes you on a journey, and the HEA is worth the ride.
Miss Ava Sutton…this book…oh my word…I loved this book. I loved the characters. Archie ?!? You all know how I feel about blonde MMC’s…they just do not do it for me…there are VERY VERY FEW exceptions to this…and Archie absolutely is part of that exception. He was such a filthy mouthed green flag that I forgot he was blonde…and I didn’t even care. He was perfection 🥰🥰
Emma is our FMC…working hard in college towards becoming a doctor and fully invested in her golfing…she’s focused on her goals and will let nothing get in her way. Emma is sweet but guarded. Loss early on in life and a family history of health issues has carved the path for who she wants to be but has also made her extremely cautious.
Archie is our golden retriever MMC. Tall, built like a dream, the man is a literal walking green flag….hes a star football player on his college team and well on his way to the NFL after graduation. But he’s also a playboy…he loves the ladies and the ladies love him.
One night out at the college bar changes things for both Emma and Charlie. They meet and there is instant chemistry. One night of passion is all it takes for Archie to fall….for him to realise that he wants more than just one night. Emma feels it’s too but she’s not willing to give him more than a night. She’s too focused on her future and needs no distractions. Especially someone like Archie.
For weeks Archie searches for Emma…realising that he wants her and needs to tell her how he feels. Emma is definitely avoiding him…but, after a few weeks and two pink lines later. Emma realises she needs to find Archie and tell him what is happening.
The way Archie handles this news is beyond perfection. He’s so supportive and so happy. He is having a baby with the girl of his dreams. Watching their relationship develop was beautiful. The way he cared and supported Emma through all her fears and apprehension with the pregnancy was so amazing. He never let her feel like she was alone. Reminding her that they are a team.
My one thing that kept this from being a 5 star read was Emma. I loved her. Love love loved her. BUT…I wish she was more supportive of Archie. This man was all in for her…wanted to shout it from the rooftops. But it felt like she wanted to keep him secret. Not wanting him to tell his friends about her. Never going to his games except for one. I know she loved him and had her issues that she was trying to work through…trying to process how life was changing. But I just wanted to see her put as much effort into him as he was putting into her.
Either way, I still loved them as individuals and definitely as a couple. They are by far my favorite of the series and this is definitely my favorite book of the series 💛
Thank you so much to Ava Sutton and Wordsmith Publicity for the opportunity to ARC read this amazing book! 💛

The way I flew through this book is craaaaaazy! But let's be honest while reading Counter Play (book 1) I was already intrigued by Archie!
He and Emma meet on an ordinary night at a standard college party but what happens is beyond extraordinary, yeah it starts as a hook up but you could feel the chemistry wafting through the pages, every look, every glance, every touch felt heightened and these two just pull you into their orbit.
Emma experienced loss early in life and it shaped the person she currently is, she has her life in order and every moment planned, right now she's focused on her golf scholarship, becoming a doctor and enjoying her friends and then one moment changes everything.
Archie.....oooh my Archie, he truly is the man Alicia and Shane raised him to be. Sincere, protective, kind, attentive a beautiful man inside and out. And yeah, he's definitely had his fair share of conquest while at Walker University but when you know you know.
Zone Protection was so easy to fall into, it's beautifully written, insanely heartfelt, filled with love, laughs, found family and panty melting scenes that will have you fanning yourself! I loved Emma & Archie so much!
Archie has been the fun loving football playboy for all his university time until he meets Emma at a house party. He was smitten at first sight. After sharing a dance they decide to take things further. While he hasn't stop thinking about her since their one night stand he hasn't been able to find her anywhere on campus. Then one day two months later she shows up at his door telling him news that will change both their lives.
After getting sick at a golf tournament Emma finds out she is pregnant. When she shows up at Archie's door and spills the news the last thing she expects is for him to be the one calming her down. He takes the news waaaaay better than expected and actually is excited.
While navigating their new reality they realize they want more than the baby between them and start to fall crazy in love with one another. How could you not fall for Archie and his smooth southern personality and dirty mouth.
The chemistry and banter between these two oozes off the pages and you just want the HEA for them. They are heartwarming and just good. Sometimes you just need a book like this to put you back together. Great story of live at first sight that also has the happily ever after.
Thank you Ava and Wordsmith for letting me be an Arc. Lived this story. I need this read.
He falls First Football Romance one night stand Reformed Playboy Accidentally pregnant New Adult/college
I ate this up. Archie is a college football player is the sweetest. A reformed playboy and he falls hard for Emma who is a golfer in college.. After knocking Emma up in a one night stand Archie does the right thing and as they get to know each other they fall hard and fast. It’s written so beautiful. while both dealing with the unexpected pregnancy and falling for each other whil supporting one another to continue following their dreams. There was so many beautiful moments shared between Archie and Emma and man the spice was perfect! 🥵 I loved how Archie was there for everything for Emma and the baby!💕 The sassy Banter and their Chemistry was electric. After reading book one and now book two! I 💯 recommend this series! 🔥
Thank you Ava Sutton and Wordsmith Publicity for an advanced copy of this book.
Ms. Sutton did not waste a a single chapter to get us to the spicy stuff!! Woooweeee! And I am 👏🏻here👏🏻for👏🏻it!!!
This was book two in her Walked University series. Archie comes in like a damn wrecking ball and sweep our girl, Emma off her feet!
He’s the epitome of a dirty talking, golden retriever.
This is a: One night stand Accidental pregnancy Golden retriever Found family Strangers to lovers
I wish I could’ve seen more of Charlie and Beck (I’m a sucker for the OG couple in any interconnected series) and I wanted to see Emma make it to medical school, chasing her dreams (with Archie of course).
*I received a copy of this book as an ARC. This review and thoughts are mine alone.*
Rating: 5⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Okay THIS is how you do an accidental pregnancy.
Emma is the one who got away, until two pink lines show up and she has to confront Archie, little did she know Archie has been looking for her the whole time.
Emma grew up with a traumatic history of a heart disease in her family, so she is concerned about what will happen to their baby, but Archie is there with her every step of the way.
Archie is the most attentive, sweet, and caring partner and baby daddy you could ever imagine.
He is about to enter the NFL after he finishes college, and is beyond excited to be a dad.
Ugh i cannot wait for book 3!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I hated rating this book a 3, but there was no ARC to the plot. No character for either mc. Aside from Emma’s pregnancy and Archie being the best guy ever, the only thing that happened was ALOT of sex. It was too much honestly. I’m all for the spicy smut in a story, but there’s a point where it becomes too much and it happened in this book. The story was good, there just wasn’t any drama, or WTF moment. Archie was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He was immediately on board and supportive about the pregnancy and did everything to make sure Emma was okay. There was never a moment he questioned becoming a dad young or what it would mean to his future career in the NFL. Right from the start it was him and Emma doing what they needed to fulfill their education and career goals, while putting their relationship and baby first. The two things that I didn’t like were how only one of his friends knew she was pregnant and it was because he overheard in the beginning and one of Emma’s friends knew because she was with Emma when she found out. Other than that no one knew. Emma didn’t want anyone knowing and I thought it was a little selfish. Not to mention unbelievable because even by 26 weeks no one knew. And the other thing was that throughout the entire story it was all about Emma becoming a doctor and how it was her main priority, but then there’s no mention of it the last couple chapters or a year later in the epilogue. This book wasn’t bad. But it wasn’t great either. I’m glad we didn’t have the ow drama because Archie was a major player prior to Emma, but it would’ve made the story more interesting if something happened. Not ow drama, just something to give the story a climax.
