Delilah Carter’s (after)life is falling apart. She had her future all mapped say goodbye to her humanity, marry the vampire she loves, and enjoy their happily ever after. Instead, her fiancé turns her into a vampire and abandons her, shattering her dreams. Now, she has to figure out how to fill the eternity stretching ahead of her. And revenge sounds like a pretty good way to occupy her time.
Asher Levine is the golden boy, the perfect vampire slayer. Or was. After a hunt gone disastrously wrong, he’s trying to get things back on track and rebuild his reputation.
But he’s not the only one hunting down his latest target.
Revenge and romance intertwine as unexpected allies Delilah and Asher try to find her ex and—in the process—find themselves falling for each other.
Bite Back is a fast-paced paranormal romance set in an alternate, modern-day New York City that’s equal parts sweet and vicious.

Delilah’s fiancé left her for dead after turning her into a vampire, shattering all of her hopes for their future. Asher, our MMC, is a vampire hunter assigned to kill her ex. Hehehe.
I loved how Asher + Delilah helped each other heal and how they grew together as people. This was such a cute story.

I fell in love with Asher and Delilah but it was Praline who absolutely stole my heart!

Bite Back is a vampire romance you do not want to miss this fall! In this urban setting, vampires and humans coexist in society. Delilah is a human in love with her vampire boyfriend, Luka. They agree for her to become a vampire. With visions of living the rest of their vampire lives together, Delilah wakes up transitioned and alone. Luka has left, betraying her and their promises.
Delilah then meets Asher, a vampire hunter. She learns that Luka is a serial predator and there is an active warrant for his death. Asher and Delilah work together to hunt down Luka and fight their feelings they have for each other.

"Maybe Delilah's the moon to my sun, drawn to me inexorably despite our differences. Maybe even things that normally stay apart can come together."
Bite Back is the debut paranormal romance from Jenna Booth, and it's a great time! I love the supernatural normative society that Booth created, where vampires and other paranormal beings are known to humans. They even sit on city councils! There are specially trained slayers, who handle supernatural crime instead of the police.
The FMC, Delilah, is turned into a vampire and abandoned by her boyfriend. In order to get justice for herself and the other women he's take advantage of, she teams up with Asher, a slayer with a personal hatred of vampires. Be mindful of the following TW/CW: Violence, domestic manipulation/psychological abuse, PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, and more. A complete list is available on the author's website.
Bite Back is a dual POV paranormal romance with easy to follow worldbuilding, and a perfectly paced plot. The characters all have survived different types of trauma. Booth depicts these with care, including how debilitating migraines can be. I love how Delilah and Asher's relationship evolves over the course the story. Their hesitancies are understandable given each of their histories, and I love how they take care of each other.
There is a great focus on female friendship, and righting wrongs done to women. I love how Booth incorporated these themes into the story. Delilah, Sarah, and Kirby are an amazing trio. I'm so intrigued by both of their stories, and I hope that they each are the focus of a later book! Asher's friendship with Claude is another high point in the story, and it's great to see platonic friendships paid so much time in a romance.
Bite Back has a great mix of action, justice seeking, character growth and healing, and of course, romance. Paranormal romance readers, definitely check this one out!! It's available on KU, ebook, and physical copies.
"When he makes you feel small. We'll be there. Me and Kirby. And together we'll be large. We'll be strong. We'll be together."
"I like you this....Happy."
"He inhales, drinking me in, lips parted, like a prayer or a prophecy. All the reasons we can't, we shouldn't, we won't fall away, and all I'm left with is this. Him and me. Us. Almost together."
"We can't erase our pasts. But we get to write our own futures."
SPOILER: Congrats to my sweet friend on her debut novel! Thank you for providing me with an advanced reader copy. THIS BOOK! I loved so many things about it: a woman scorned is my favorite FMC. Bite Back is fast paced and all dark academia vibes in NYC. We don’t get bogged down in vampire lore, but Jenna still builds a world you can lose yourself in. The girl group was so real and authentic it felt like reading a playback of my own friendships through the years. I’m glad Asher and Deliah are endgame, but really it’s the girlies forever. This book left no crumbs. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I absolutely loved the vampire - vampire hunter concept of this book, and the modern AU setting (the idea of vampires and paranormals living side by side is very interesting to me). I liked the fact that some tropes were turned on their heads and that Asher and Delilah both felt like fully fleshed out characters with believable trauma.
The writing is immersive and fast paced, and I certain side characters have me very intrigued…
A hug in book form and a perfect cozy autumn read!
I’m so incredibly proud of Jenna and her amazing debut! I had such a fun time reading this story, the vibes were perfect, Delilah’s growth throughout the book was incredible, and Asher is a perfectly swoony love interest. Additionally the chronic pain rep was done so well and I absolutely can’t wait for whatever Jenna writes next.

This was Jenna’s debut novel and the vibes were HIGH. Perfect read around halloween and it really overall felt so fun. Loved the dynamic of paranormal / humans living in unison, we never get to see that and I loved how it was played out I would’ve loved more dialogue between FMC + MMC and I think this would have filled out their story more (but I think I’m just being greedy) I can’t wait to see what she writes next!! And I beg that we get to see more cat distribution system representation
Bite Back follows Delilah as she seeks revenge on her ex Luka in the aftermath of his turning her into a vampire against her will. Along the way she reconnects with a group of girl friends (The Undead Exes Club), the cat distribution system is kind to her in the form of sweet stray Praline whom she takes home with her, and she runs into cinnamon roll slayer Asher- who also happens to be hunting Luka- in which the most delightful romantic tension arises with favorite tropes like reluctant allies and “only one bed”!
I really enjoyed the beloved animal companion, female friendship, and grief/mental health healing journey aspects of this book! The romance was so fun and I enjoyed the tension of the vampire x slayer dynamic very much. And omg the metaphors, the imagery, and the pictures Jenna painted- just so immersive and honestly magical!
The vibes felt very similar to Dark Night Golden Dawn and Crescent City- if you enjoy that urban fantasy setting in a romance I would highly recommend checking out this book!
I really enjoyed reading this book by my Bibliovert friend! The FMC is so inspiring because she overcomes so much without losing her humanity. The MMC has so much growth as well.
I recommend having a cuddly pet nearby for this one!
