Wait a Dang Minute!!!!
First off Bonnie never disappoint, so didn’t expect anything but a messy good time and it was!!! Let’s chat shall we!!
First and foremost I love Shanni! Her energy, motivation and upbringing let me know she was not about to allow it to dictate her future! She had goal and did what she needed to know to accomplish them. Didn’t seem as if she really had a life to enjoy besides her jobs - doing hair and tutoring! Outside of that it was her and her man Bernard! Well that was until he became the trifling man he is - 😠 and was cheating on her with Kenni, who works with her!When I say my girl play no game and her hands are marked “E” for everyone, I mean just that. The way she handled Kenni had me in tears laughing 🤣! Not just that, she handed Nard his whooping as well. Babe, this was everything! Oh but I definitely wasn’t ready for what was next - the proposition that was presented - surrogacy! Who would have thought a simple hello and a very little conversation with Kashmier would turn into being asked to carry another his and at the time fiancés child for a nice amount - financially. Then there’s the unspoken connection between Shanni & Kash that neither one expected!
Kashmier was just that 🥷🏽 and stood on business at all times. With taking over the family business and handling his own personal business, times can be challenging. Speaking of challenges, the challenge of producing a heir in a year time to keep your position within the family business is diabolical. Like really! Not only that you being told that it will all go to the young brother if not fulfilled. Not only dealing with his mess his father stated, my guy has to deal with the mess his brother Dex doing thinking he’s about to run the business! While dealing with this with his brother, him and Amira decided to use a surrogate and approached Shanni! Ya boy had a thing for Shanni so what better way to get close to her, however, when she agreed to do it, he wasn’t expecting to fall for her. Listen, Kash fell for her and hard mite I say🥰! Not only that, when he found out his fiancé had a deep secret that she kept from him, he is done and there is no get back. Especially now that he’s had a sample of and feels hard for Shanni! And I love it!
Amira, babygirl so use to getting her way but when it don’t she crumbles! But she her secret is going to cause more havoc than she’s going to be able to handle! Oh but the thought of losing her man is what she didn’t see coming! oh but when she finds out who she lost him to is going to have loss it 🫣! Just know what’s done in the dark will always come into the light!

Predictable but here to finish
My first Bonnie Blanco and I may have taken her author note more seriously than I should have. Bonnie does state this isn't a slow burn per se but it is slower paced. I have no material to compare it to, but the "slow" was nowhere in the room.
Shannon and Kash's story takes off almost immediately. The characters are character archetypes we have read before so it is rather easy to figure out what is going to happen and when. I could even predict the random third POV.
None of the characters are likeable thus far and I can't say I am rooting for anyone because it is a zero-sum game, right now. The story ends in a cliffhanger and the "dual pov' overlaps. That overlapping creates a repetitive pattern in the story. I understand the reasoning behind the dual pov but rehashing scenes from a different perspective decreases the intrigue and creates a significantly watered-down story.

Due to this author's inability to receive constructive criticism (or criticism of any kind), I permanently deleted this book from my Kindle and will never read anything written by her in the past, present or future. May she get some therapy to help her with emotional intelligence and unpacking some of her unaddressed issues that causes her to insult / belittle / attack other Black women, because Lord knows she needs it, especially after effectively, single-handedly sabotaging her entire writing career behind a 3 STAR REVIEW! 😐😮💨

Cute. Predictable. But still cute. 💕 Shanni? Love her hustle. 💼 The way she grinds had me rooting for her from the jump. The romance with Kash? Whew… moved fast. I ain’t fell for him in the full-on book boyfriend way yet, but I feel it coming 👀.

This was my intro to Bonnie and I will say I enjoyed this read. Super messy and full of drama. As Kash and his girlfriend are struggling to continue his family’s legacy. They agree to have a surrogate carry their baby so he does not lose his position in the family organization, however as soon as they agreed to this plan everything went left.. lies, cheating and more. Looking forward to getting into book 2

Oh wow. This book was messy as hell—and I loved every minute of it. Carrying a Big Dawg’s Legacy: His BBW Surrogate was pure chaos in the best way possible. From start to finish, it was a roller coaster of wild twists, jaw-dropping moments, and emotional tension that somehow worked—all packed into just 120 pages.
The title alone should’ve been my warning, but nothing could’ve prepared me for the whirlwind I was stepping into. The characters were flawed, dramatic, and real in the most entertaining way. Every chapter felt like a new plot twist, and just when I thought things couldn’t get crazier, that cliffhanger hit like a slap in the face.
Bonnie Blanco really snapped with this one. It’s magical how she poured so much angst, drama, and layered storytelling into such a short read without it feeling rushed. Now I’m left fiending for the next book. I need Bonnie back in the lab—ASAP

When I say I devoured this book—I mean every page was inhaled. I don’t think I’ve ever read a story so fast. Shanni is that girl. I adored everything about her, from her powerful backstory to her present-day strength. I just wanted her to win and claim everything life had to offer.
And when she checked Kenni? Tears. Shanni was not here to play with that girl.
This book had me gripped. Kash is that man—no games, no lies, just pure truth. His intentions were clear from the start, and he didn’t hold back. That proposition? Wild. I wasn’t sure if Shanni would go for it, but whew…
And Amira? So foul for what she did to Kash. She deserves every bit of what’s coming her way.
I won’t spoil anything, but trust—this book was messy, dramatic, packed with jaw-dropping twists, explosive secrets, and gut-wrenching betrayals. It was everything I crave in a story, and then some.

All At Once
So this book just turned into an As The World Turns saga. It’s to the point, because it’s not long. I had my questions early on because Kash was so into Amira and I didn’t see him falling for the surrogate because of the way he moved.
Kash is a serious case of nonsense. He says what it is. He’s about building his empire. Having a son, on a deadline will be a huge part in that to keep his status as the head of the empire. Amira and her secrets will put Kash in a precarious situation. As well as his brother Dex, setting out to be his replacement as the head.
Shanni shakes up Kash’s world by just being beautiful and appearing at the right time. Things escalate fast. Enemies plan their downfall. But they’re on the way to handle said enemies when everything falls into in place. Oh, Amira and her secrets are next up in book 2.

Possible Spoilers———-Now Bonnie Blanco why you do me like that? The ending had me floored. Amira BFFR you were just outside two weeks ago with another man chileeeeeee. The secrets, the lies and the drama had me locked in. Now I want to see if Kash is going to honor Shanni or go back to his pet snake. Shanni has been through enough trauma and deserves happiness with a splash of the soft life.
Now I don’t agree with being no side dish, but I love me some Shanni and Kash. I need part two immediately so my questions can be answered lol. I always felt like Amira was hiding something and I want to know who is anonymous? Who baby is Amira carrying? Is anonymous Rell because he made a certain comment that had me like hummmmmmm. Shanni is that your baby?

That's a plot twist in that ending!! I couldn't put this book down! I love Shanni and how Tye is truly her ride or die lol! Amira was something else and now both her and Shanni are pregnant I'm wondering how that will play out. Kenni is dumb for jumping on Shanni after the fact when she's the one that was caught with Shanni's then man and both got beat up, like move on already and be with Nard! I like the fact that Shanni was all about accomplishing her goal of Law school and now she can pursue it. It would be crazy if Shanni's baby is really hers and Amira's baby isn't by Kash just saying lol. I can't wait to see what happens next!

PART 2 ME PLEASE!
Gurllllllll! Now you know I’m an avid Bonnie Blanco reader! I downloaded this book but put it off a few because I saw that there was a pt 2 coming soon and this wasn’t a long read. Listen, this book was sooooooo good from the start. Like the literal first page drags you into Shanni’s world. I love her so much man! And Kash!!! Oh my. Amira is a snake and I have reason to believe she’s sleeping with Dez… I can’t stand that it left off like that and now I have to wait lol

I'm not going to lie I don't think Amira is pregnant with Kash's baby because I think it belongs to this mystery person who I also think is Cortez or Dex you just never know. I think Shanni did get pregnant with Kash's baby. I really think Kash daddy up to something and I don't trust him. Dex, Nard, Ebony, and Kenni need to get handled all of them suck. Not for me. I hated how predictable it was. I called everything before it even happened. I’m also pretty sure Anonymous is someone close to him, maybe Dex, which says a lot about how easy the twists were to figure out. I skipped over this book a few times before finally starting it today, and honestly, I should’ve trusted my instincts.
I like Bonnie and I’ve read her work before, but the writing in this one just wasn’t strong. It needs serious edits, not AI edits, but a real human editor. This one just didn’t land for me.

This book grabbed my attention and held onto it! I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next, and that twist at the end?! 🫣🔥

If you’re going to get anything from Bonnie Blanco’s book babes you’re going to get entertainment. I kid you not.

Ok, cliffhanger!!!
What started as a surrogacy arrangement quickly turned into something much messier. Kash and Shanni's chemistry was undeniable, and I found myself rooting for them almost immediately. Just when I thought I understood where the story was headed, the twists kept coming.
The ending had me opening Book 2 without hesitation. If you enjoy hood romance with family drama, betrayal, and plenty of suspense, this is a solid start to the series.
