I enjoy real-life crime stories, and having grown up in Columbia, in the 80's & mid 90's, I was aware of this unsolved case and eager to read the book. Although the story and case are intriguing, I disliked the style and format of the writing. There was a lot of extraneous information (who cares where the lawyers, cops, court reporter, etc. grew up?).

A very compelling read of the true story solving and prosecuting a 35 year-old murder. Told in the first person by those involved, from friends of the victim, to detectives, to prosecuting attorney. The truth of this case offers more twists than most fiction. It would make a wonderful documentary.

I occasionally read true crime and this was a great read. Living in Columbia, I’ve eaten at Ernie’s many times, but didn’t know the story of Becky Doisy. I hope I can sit at the Art Koch artwork booth next time and raise a glass. Becky Doisy was a bright and kind woman and gone too soon.
