Maslyn has carved a place in a world that never welcomed her. She doesn’t owe them anything. But she’ll risk everything anyway.
Maslyn Nirtav survived Mulik Academy without her magic.
She learned to navigate whispered politics, hidden histories, and the fragile alliances that keep Siela from tearing itself apart. But survival has made her visible... and visibility comes with a cost.
The Wraiths still hunt her. Eyes still watch her. And as her name spreads beyond the academy walls, the secrets her father buried grow harder to keep.
Rual would shield her from the world if he could. Ezra would stand beside her, even when he shouldn’t.
Maslyn wants neither protection nor permission. She wants answers. Answers about her power, her past, and the truth Siela refuses to face.
Then the Blooded begin to vanish again.
As fear spreads and old enemies step out of shadow, Maslyn is forced to confront a choice she can no longer remain the girl who survived… or become the force that changes everything.
Created in a vat far from this world, C.M. Martens was sent to watch over this plane, to observe and witness the human condition. Discontent with simple observation, she's chosen to morph this reality into her own image through the written word. Supplied with coffee, sweets, and an endless supply of Trance and Chill electronic music (mixed with some video game soundtracks) C.M. Martens hopes to lead you on an adventure through the pages of her novels.

I am truly Undone. C. M. Martens has created a sequel to Magic Fade that will unmake your expectations and empty your reservoirs of hope for Maslyn Nirtav. Undone: A Fantasy Adventure with Romance is devastating.
Although Maslyn spends her academic term bouncing from one academy to another, she continues to secretly work with her own magic without letting her classmates know the extent of her real power.
However, Maslyn's driven curiosity about where magic comes from puts her in the library late in the evening and directly in the path of the Palace's historian. Adria is fascinated that Maslyn understands so many old languages and tries to dissuade her from her magical training.
When Ezra Maldoch, Prince and heir to the Emperor's throne, falls madly in love with Maslyn and won't leave her alone, it is up to her guardian, Rual, to explain how much danger she is in.
Instead of training to become the best Frey she can be, Maslyn's special skills, the few that have come to the notice of the Palace, are poised to position her as a tool for manipulation by various people important to the Crown.
To make things worse, more students are going missing, either by kidnapping or by the Wraiths, and no official defense is being mustered by the Palace. Maslyn and her fellow students take it upon themselves to train in readiness to protect themselves.
You will never, ever, see the end of this book coming. No matter how closely you are paying attention to the clues. I felt like I was sucker-punched and left alone. I don't know how I'm going to make it through until the author finishes the next book in the series. I am truly Undone.
I received an advance reader’s copy of this book and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.
Wow! What a ride! This book takes up right where In The Fade left off. When we think Maslyn has been captured by the Wraith, turns out she was rescued by Rual, her guardian, and everything seems to be good and well again. Wellll… not so much. Despite her efforts to avoid the prince, he is a constant presence, so a little romance is definitely brewing there. Her Guardian pulls her out of Mulik and takes her to a different school where she meets a new crop of friends, including Rand, who seems to be playing almost like the prince in desiring to be with her.
After a fake kidnapping of three of her close friends and her able to get to the bottom of it all, she is finally able to get back to Mulik and begin her training in earnest.
As more Bloods are found missing, including her close friends from Allodar, Maslyn decides she is going to do something about it and end the Wraith threat forever. Little does she know, this Wraith is known to her and I really didn’t see that coming at all! I won’t spoil it anymore. The story is really intense and it moves quite quickly. Can’t wait for the next book in the series, because well, old friends have returned, the Wraith is still out there and gee what else can go wrong?? I highly recommend this book and the first book of the series if you haven’t read it yet. Enjoy 😊
Maslyn emerged from her sleep, still aching from recent events.
She tried to guess where she could be...

A rather disappointing read for me because I had the greatest difficulty reading this second volume of the misadventures of young Maslyn, having absolutely no recollection of the events of volume 1, which I read two years ago.
I was even less engaged with the characters and the plot in this second volume, which I found confusing.
I started over from the beginning and gave up several times. This time I finally managed to finish this second volume, and I would have liked to enjoy this story, but unfortunately, that's not the case.
Definitely not a story for me, and I'm the first to be disappointed, given the time spent reading this one!
