Four cowboys.
One woman on the run.
And a love that refuses to follow the rules.

I came to Whispering Pines with nothing but a fake name and a bruised heart.
I didn’t expect Wes, Knox, Beau, and Reid.
Didn’t expect the heat. The safety. The way they saw me—even the broken parts.

They say I’m home now. That I never have to run again.
I just hope they’re right.

Mila Wilde writes steamy books for women who want it all, heat, heart, and more than one man who worships the ground they walk on.

Her reverse harem romances are soaked in tension, soaked in desire, and never shy away from the messy, complicated, delicious parts of falling in love with more than one person. Her heroines are soft when they want to be, savage when they need to be, and never have to settle for less than everything.

If you’re looking for slow burns that explode, threesomes that turn into foursomes, and men who actually communicate (and still know how to ruin you in the best way)… you’re in the right place.

Mila writes like the door’s locked and no one’s watching. Come join the chaos. It’s hot in here.

Another sweet and spicy story. I loved each of the guys though I wish the characters were slightly more developed but for a shorter story, it's still cohesive and a fun read.

The second the guys see her, they’ll know. And I don’t give a damn. I’m already falling. And if I have to share her to keep her here, I will. But I’ll be damned if I don’t make sure she knows she was mine first.

Very enjoyable read where we get Sam's story. I loved that Sam was a complex and had a complicated backstory. Wes, Knox, Beau, and Reid are just what Sam needs. Sam had different relationships with each guy which was refreshing.

There’s something that will always get me about a woman fleeing an abusive, traumatic past and landing in the arms of a man who sees her broken pieces and chooses her anyway. Now take that feeling and multiply it by four. Four cowboys, each carrying their own scars, who still have the patience, tenderness, and capacity to love a woman who’s convinced she’ll never be able to trust again. Sam is wary, guarded, and determined to keep everyone at arm’s length, but grumpy Knox, scowling Beau, quiet Reid, and endlessly comforting Wes quickly prove they’re nothing like her abusive ex. Their remote, slightly run-down ranch might not look like much at first, but it soon becomes something far more important: home. A place where Sam doesn’t have to walk on eggshells. A place where four sets of watchful eyes are always making sure she’s safe, seen, and okay. I loved how distinct each of the men felt, each with a clear, memorable personality that made it impossible to choose a favorite (and honestly, why would you?). What made this story truly special, though, was that it wasn’t just about how they helped Sam heal. It was about how they healed each other. Sam wasn’t just rescued; she was essential in helping these men mend their own wounds. At its heart, this is a beautiful story about five broken people finding solace, love, and belonging in one another, forming an unconventional family, and finally discovering what it means to have a forever home.

2.5. Sam's grown accustom to the no rest lifestyle that comes with trying to out run a past you'd rather forget. She's been making it work, and she intends to keep it that way. When an opportunity to pass some time at a secluded ranch arises though, it's too tempting to pass up.

Having enjoyed other installments in this stand alone series, I did go into this narrative with some high hopes. Unfortunately, I didn't find these characters as compelling, nor this narrative as charming, as other installments.

Sam was difficult to connect with; she felt underdeveloped, and generally flat. While there were aspects of her character that made her likable, overall she (and the other characters) seemed to be completely directed by the plot.

The peril, while highlighting a real concern, felt overly manufactured, as no meaningful foundation was provided; a fact that the pacing employed must take most of the credit for. The peril in this narrative does relate to dv.

This narrative is a true standalone. Though, if you are giving this one a shot, I would highly recommend also looking at other books in the series.

For a book that’s only 180 pages long, this story managed to deliver a surprisingly strong emotional impact. It sets up a slow-burn cowboy romance that works well despite the shorter length, and I really enjoyed the structure of alternating chapters from his and her points of view as their relationship develops.
While I would have loved to see certain aspects explored a bit more—especially how they protected her from Eric and some deeper insight into the characters’ personal and financial situations—the story still felt complete and satisfying. The pregnancy announcement and epilogue were quite short for my taste, but they made sense within the overall flow of the book.
This is one of the few shorter novels I’ve read where the ending actually felt logical and earned. Even though I wanted to keep reading and see more of their lives unfold, the story wrapped up in a way that worked.
It’s also a very light, easy read. The writing is simple and conversational, making it easy to feel immersed and connected to the characters.
Overall, I’d rate this a strong 4.5 stars. Since half ratings aren’t an option, I’m giving it five stars, but it truly sits at a solid 4.5 for me.

Samantha is running from an abusive, controlling ex. Constantly on the move, trying to stay one step ahead. She is in a new town, and she needs money, so she accepts a job as a live-in housekeeper on a farm.

Knox, Wes, Beau, and Reid are in for a shock when Sam arrives on their doorstep, especially when they were expecting a man. Knox is especially wary. Can this woman put a spanner in the works?

Sam tries to keep the men at arm's length; she knows what they say and what they do can be complete opposites. The men see that Sam hasn't had it easy, the way she acts around them, holds herself when they are near, that the past hasn't been good to her. But the attraction between them only intensifies. Can the men be with Samantha without making her choose, putting jealousy aside, and show her how real men treat those they hold dear?.

This book was well written, easy to follow the story line with all elements and different characters. Sam was the main female character and she was interesting with her past and her current life. All the cowboys had their own personalities and each one of them gave purpose to the plot. I personally had my favorites of the four being Beau and Knox. The spice was amazing some was spicy some was sensual but each cowboy was romantic and loving in their own way. The ending was different for me I don’t want to give any spoilers but it was unexpected and not realistic but for a cowboy romance it made the ending perfect for this story setting. I would recommend this book for a cowboy spicy little read.

This was the second book I've read from this series and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The plot and storyline had me hooked quickly and it was well paced and flowed easily with the characters being introduced and developed. Samantha, Knox, Beau, Wes and Reid were all engaging with their own personalities, insecurities and damaged pasts and there were plenty of steamy and emotional scenes that spiced things up that kept me turning the pages. It's a beautiful little love story that shows how a family can develop outside of convention and end with a satisfying HEA. I definitely recommend as a great short read.

This is a a polyamorous love story with a steamy and hearfelt plot.

Samantha, Knox, Beau, Wes and Reid are the MCs in this story, and it is nice to see how each MMC has a different relationship with Sam. She has been running from her abusive ex and the lack of funds lands her working as a housekeeper in the ranch. The men see her fears, and each fall for her, their interactions, their passion, their moments will not only help Sam find herself again, but also heal the men who will do anything to keep her, and that means sharing her and forming home!.

Part of the Under One Roof series. This is about Samantha, Wes, Knox, Beau, and Reid. Samantha is running from her past, and gets a job at the ranch. All the men notice how she flinches and seems to want to leave, but they work hard to let her know that she's safe. I thought it was a good story; they all had something from their pasts that they held onto. I loved that Samantha found safety, love, a home, and they all found the healing they needed with each other.

Mila Wilde is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. Whether her books are long or short. She always manages to captivate my attention, with a great storyline and characters I love.
Samantha's story was another perfect example.
There was a little drama, some humor, lots of feels, and spice. It was also about healing, acceptance, and creating a family.
I loved how the relationships between Sam and her men developed. They seemed natural. There was the perfect amount of tension, steam, and love.

I inhaled this book like so many others by Mila Wilde. Sam ran, changed her name and applied for a job at Whispering Pines. What she didn't count on was falling in love with not one but four handsome men who would burn the world down to protect her. Eric, her ex found his way near her asking of her whereabouts. I'm sure he wasn't expecting four men to back her up. She found a home that she had never thought about wanting. I was hooked from the beginning of this book, short and to the point.

This was such a fun, quick and easy read. It's my first one from the author but I definitely enjoyed it enough to look into another one. Considering it's a short one pacing seemed great, the story pulled me in from the first pages and the spice was spicing! I think I might have developed a thing towards cowboys after this one!
Definitely one to read if you're looking for something easy and quick but at the same time well paced and nicely wrapped with some spice.

Cowboy romance (reverse harem).
Sam is a young woman fleeing a toxic relationship, so when she finds a job posting on a remote ranch, she sees it as a sign. She didn't expect to fall for the gorgeous cowboys who are now her employers. She finds herself healing her wounds alongside four handsome men, each with their own past traumas.
Will Sam and her cowboys have a beautiful love story, or will Sam's past come back to haunt her….

This was such a cute, quick read at around 180 pages!

Sam takes a job in Whispering Pines while running from her past, and ends up working for Wes, Knox, Reid, and Beau, who definitely didn’t expect to hire a woman. Each of them carries their own kind of trauma, but together they help each other heal and grow.

I do wish there had been a bit more to the story, but overall, it was a sweet and enjoyable read.

Four cowboys one woman on the run. They tell her she's home and doesn't have to run anymore.

The plot was intriguing and well written. World building was solidly drawn. The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and likeable and perfectly steamy together. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

This was a sweet and spicy novella with four hotties in hats and cowboy boots. I loved that Sam is running from the bad and looking for something good. But it makes it better because all the guys have pasts too. But when she falls into their arms, they’re her better. They are her protection, comfort, rebuilding. And I love that for her. Amazing novella. Absolutely loved it.

Great short story! Read it in about two hours. Gave me all the feels that you'd expect from a book from these tropes. The way the guys take care of Sam is sweet, and spicy. The shared trauma helps build their bonds.
