Welcome to Haydon Falls, home to the beautiful Kanfield Orchards – and four smokin’ hot Kanfield brothers!
This is TAKE MY HEART, Brody's Story: A Small-Town, Opposites-Attract, Forced Proximity romance, Book 3 in the Kanfield Orchards series.
Kate
Brody Kanfield.
Messy, impulsive, and hot as hell in those lumberjack shirts.
Nothing like the man I just left at the altar . . .
Camden James Cartwright was the man my parents wanted me to marry.
But Cam never truly loved me – he just loved the idea of me.
Not like Brody, who brings out the fun, silly side of me that I thought I’d lost forever.
I’m not ready to go home to Chicago, so Brody and I make a pact to be roommates for a couple of weeks.
The agreement might’ve worked if we weren’t stuck in his house because of the blizzard.
And if I could stop thinking about him when I’m all alone at night . . .
I think we might need a new plan, because I don’t know how long I can keep being sensible Kate when he’s looking at me like that . . .
Brody
Katelyn Millstone.
The girl I rescued from the side of the road in the middle of a blizzard in her wedding dress.
She seemed so uptight at first, not my type at all.
But underneath all that makeup I could tell she was beautiful.
And then I saw her in just a towel and suddenly I'm thinking all sorts of dirty thoughts . . .
Because not only is she super sweet and fun when she lets her hair down and we have snowball fights, but seeing her walking around in my shirts with nothing on underneath is getting me all hot and bothered.
She’s only supposed to stay for a couple of weeks to help with the rent, but damn, I’m starting to wish she was staying for good . . .

This book is a sweet, small town romance with a big dose of opposites attract.
Kate literally runs out on her wedding and ends up stranded in a snowstorm, still in her wedding dress. Brody, who works as a snow removal guy, rescues her and takes her back to his home. Forced proximity, blizzard conditions, and two people who couldn’t be more different.
I liked watching Kate loosen up as she let go of the “perfect” persona everyone else expected from her. Brody brings out a fun, playful side she didn’t know she still had, and their snowball fights, shared meals, and quiet moments together felt warm. Also seeing Brody soften around Kate made for some genuinely sweet moments.
My only critique is that the pacing felt a little uneven at times, and the shift from “just roommates” to “deeply in love” happens pretty fast. It didn’t stop me from enjoying their story, but it weakened the connection I felt to the characters love.
Thank you to NetGalley and Embla Books for this ARC read. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.
I want to start by saying thank you to Netgalley and Allie Everhart for letting me get the chance to read this amazing book!
I loved this book so much it actually pulled me from a reading slump. The characters are so adorable! i love the banter between them. I was so invested in the book i couldn't put it down. They are probably my favorite couple in the whole series! I will definitely be reading more from Allie EverHart. She is an amazing writer.
Kate is in the middle of her wedding when she realised that she can’t marry Cam, after walking out she ends up in a snow storm, enter Brody who works as a snow removal guy who ends up rescuing Kate and takes her back home with him. During these time together they start to form a connection. I enjoyed this book even though the pacing felt a bit slow at time, they have a great story and this was an enjoyable read. I read this as a standalone but I will be going back to the start of this series
Brody rescues Kate from the side of the road after her car crashed into a ditch. It's snowing heavy and she's wearing her wedding dress.
This is book 3 in the Haydon Falls series and my favorite one so far. The relationship between Brody & Kate totally hooked me in, I honestly couldn't put this book down.
I absolutely adore Allie's writing. It's so easy to read and just hooks you in.
Huge thank you NetGalley, the publisher & the author for the eARC
The writing style was a little, he said, she said, then he said, then she said but it felt like it was well paced and it was so lovely to see the character development of Kate stepping out of her parents control, and for Brody for finding his feet and passion in flipping homes.
I love the Kanfield brothers!! Brody just might be my favorite one! I really enjoyed Kate and Brody’s story! I love the small town feel of these books. This book has a runaway bride, opposites attract, and close proximity! I loved the house flipping in this story and how Kate did a lot of the work!
