We met at a wedding and, I swear I never do this, but we just clicked . . . So we spent the night together and it was amazing.
We agreed not to see each other again, but now I'm on my way to Haydon Falls.
Because I have to tell him . . . I'm pregnant.
I'm worried what he'll say, but I also have another problem . . .
My parents are in town and will freak if they find out Jason and I aren't together, so we need to pretend to date for the week.
And I need to keep my hands off him because this is already too complicated . . .
Jason
Mia Daniels.
She took my breath away the very first time I saw her. We only spent a night together but it was perfect . . .
It sounds crazy but I think she could be the one for me.
When she left, I thought I'd never see her again.
But now she's calling to ask if I'll meet her for dinner.
I'm worried if I see her, she'll take my breath away all over again . . .
I'd love for things to work out with us, but how can they when she keeps telling me she's moving away?
It's typical, I finally meet a girl I could marry and she leaves. And now I'll be the last one of all my brothers to settle down - when they always thought I'd be the first one to have kids!

Mia and Jason meet at an out of town wedding and hit it off immediately. They spend one incredible night then morning together and then agree to never see each other again. Weeks later Mia realizes she’s pregnant so she calls to Jason to meet for dinner. Y’all, he takes forever to return her call! And then when she tells him she pregnant he doesn’t realize he’s the father. Okay, I can overlook this, but both of them seem very immature for their ages and professions. I just couldn’t connect with either character and honestly just started skipping whole chapter to finish the book when I got to about 40%.

Protect My Heart is the fourth book in the steamy small-town Kanfield Orchard series by Allie Everhart. If you love Laura Pavlov, Corinne Michaels, and D.E. Haggerty, you'll love meeting the four gorgeous Kanfield brothers! My Thoughts: Protect My Heart has the characters falling hard and fast, but with Mia’s plan to move across the country any day they say goodbye. A few months later when Mia finds out she’s pregnant, it turns out to not be that simple. The characters are both very likable but it’s simply a problem of right person, wrong hometown location. The pace of the story is very quick and it remains relatively low angst/drama. I felt like we didn’t really get to ever feel Mia coming to terms with being pregnant, just Jason adjusting to being a dad. This story fits in accidental pregnancy, small town vibes, some fake dating and forced proximity. If these tropes are favorites of yours, and you are looking for a light/fast read then I would recommend it. Thanks NetGalley, Embla Books and Author Allie Everhart for the advanced copy of "Protect My Heart" I am leaving my voluntary review in appreciation. #NetGalley #EmblaBooks #AllieEverhart #ProtectMyHeart ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My Review: Protect My Heart by Allie Everhart is book #4 in The Haydon Falls series. It is scheduled for release on 10/16/25.
This novel is described as being " A small-town, steamy, fake-dating, accidental pregnancy Kanfield Brothers romance (Jason's Story)."
About the Book: "We met at a wedding and, I swear I never do this, but we just clicked . . . So we spent the night together...
but now I'm on my way to Haydon Falls.
Because I have to tell him . . . I'm pregnant."
In My Own Words: Two strangers meet at a wedding. They agree to partner up. One thing leads to another. After one wonderful night, they part ways. Four months later, they do more than talk.
My Final Say: This was a straightforward, light and tame romance with a "he falls first" hardline. It was very linear, in terms of a narrative style. It was family rich and included multiple storylines that introduced other characters and couplings. Overall, it was a solid read.

The story starts off with a cute meet cute where Mia and Jason first meet at a dingoes table at their friend's wedding. It escalates sweetly to a One night stand as Mia is at school and will be moving to Boston. Months later we find out Mia is pregnant and goes to tell Jason after not being in contact since that night.
overall it had the premise of being a good story with the insta connection and accidental pregnancy. however, sadly it fell flat for me. I found it hard to connect with Mia and Jason as it felt they got rushed together quickly. I was also not a fan of Jason having been on dates with everyone in the town 🤣. that's just my own preference.
It is a sweet accident pregnancy with spice and cute moments.
Storyline had a great premise and I enjoy the accidental pregnancy trope it’s one I tend to go towards . But this story definitely lacked some dept and it was so fast , so quick to decide things. The characters seemed to have no real sense of direction. It felt very up & down , one minute they are together then not then moving to Boston then not.. felt rushed ?! And I couldn’t get to know the characters on a deeper level , there was no description of their looks, personalities. I missed that , I like to envision the people and how they match . I really wished to enjoy this morn , if the book was longer and the decisions made within the book had more dept it would’ve made a great book. Sorry it just wasn’t for me . 3stars- for the trope & the bones of a great story.

A first for me by this author and it won't be my last!
When Mia and Jason hit it off a wedding for mutual friends, they agree to a night. Little do they know fate has other plans. Navigating her moving across the country in a few short months, while trying to see if their very real feelings could be something more before baby arrives made for the sweetest story. I need to go back and read the other books in the series now! If you're forever in your laura pavlov era like I am, you'll love this story for sure!!!
Thank you Netgalley and Embla Books for the ARC in exchange for my review!
Mia & Jason meet at a friend's wedding, there's instant chemistry and they have a one night stand together. They live too far apart to take things further.
4 months later and Mia wants to meet up, she's pregnant. It's obvious there's still something between them but can they make it work?
This is the 4th and book final book in the Haydon Falls series. I really liked Mia & Jason's story, such a cute read.
Huge thank you NetGalley, the publisher & the author for the eARC
Mia was the perfect woman for him, their story was a little predictable but it’s the perfect comfort read filled with love, found family, and gorgeous happily ever afters.
