Selected from the works of the world's most beloved evangelist, the classic collection of quotes offers timeless inspiration with fresh insight. In his compelling manner, Billy Graham challenges is to look up to the hills and draw closer to God.
Billy Graham was an American evangelical Christian evangelist and an ordained Southern Baptist minister. Graham is best known for his evangelistic missions or “Crusades.” He believed God knew no borders or nationalities. Throughout his career, Graham preached to millions around the world. He met and prayed with every U. S. president from Dwight Eisenhower to Barack Obama.
Graham authored 34 books, including his memoir, Just As I Am. In 1983, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Ronald Reagan. In 1996, Graham and his wife, Ruth, received the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest award Congress can bestow on a private citizen.
Graham married Wheaton College classmate Ruth Bell Graham in 1943. They had five children ( Ruth Graham, Gigi Graham Tchividjian, Anne Graham Lotz, Nelson, & Franklin Graham) and made their home in the mountains of North Carolina. They were married for 64 years before Ruth’s death in 2007. Graham died from natural causes on February 21, 2018, at his home in Montreat, North Carolina, at the age of 99.
Billy Graham's Unto the Hills was a daily inspirational and spiritual read which besides the daily scripture gives the reader his vast experience that makes that passage more meaningful and personal. When I started this read last year soon after Billy Graham had made his way to Heaven, his book has added something wonderful in my life and helped bring God's Word to me, so from now on this practice will continue for the rest of my life. He brought The Daily Devotional an important part in my life which comforts me!
Great Start to Every Morning This is the second year I've read one of Billy Graham's Bible devotionals . Each day , I looked forward to reading insights from this Godly man . Following that , I chose to read the entire chapter of the day's Scripture verse. I'm looking forward to reading another Bible devotional in this same fashion in 2019.
Billy Graham devotions with stories and quotes from meeting people and having a conversation with the likes of Corrie Ten Boom, Eddie Rickenbacker and Louis Zamperini. One of my heroes, who never got political, never had an enemy and loved everyone he met.
I didn't have a lot to choose from when making a selection on BookSneeze, so I decided to go for Billy Graham's "Unto the Hills: A Daily Devotional".
As the name suggests, this is a perpetual daily devotional book. The author encourages the reader that “for peace, for strength, for courage and inspiration, look UNTO THE HILLS.”
Dr Graham has written this devotional from his life experience as a man of God. His goal is that when we have problems we look to God for peace and guidance. His love for God is evident by his writing.
As it’s only March, I haven’t finished the book given its genre. I was quietly refreshed when I read the first devotional as Dr Graham’s zeal and keenness to share God's Word shows in abundance. The loving way in which He shares God’s commands, love and desires for us is comforting to read.
Throughout and after each daily reading I am left pondering the message that God has in it for me. Biblical truths are written out in such a way that God’s message is easy to understand. The reader is left with either a question or a thought to ponder during the day. Dr Graham uses people from the Bible and in past and present times to illustrate God’s goodness, giving the reader a practical example of how His love works and is displayed.
I would recommend this book to mainly adults, but anyone from teen years and up would find it enjoyable.
Being new to Christianity, and very excited about learning as much as possible, as quickly as possible, I often find myself going full-tilt in many directions when it comes to "meditating on His word night and day". I lack focus, direction and many times I miss the subtleties of the scriptures I am studying. That's where a devotional such as this one plays a vital role in my walk with the Lord.
Reading Mr. Graham's interpretation and application of scripture has allowed me to focus on what is truly being said in the Bible. Many times slowing down and concentrating on 1 or 2 verses will help me to understand on a much deeper level exactly what God is saying. And I am positive it will do the same for anyone else searching for an intimate relationship with the Lord.

I have now read this Bible study companion thrice. This is one of the best because of the breadth and scope of the stories and applicable scriptural passages. Commit yourself to read this for one year. Thank you, Rev. Billy Graham.
I think that God speaks in many ways, and for me, this book was one of them. On a gray and dark world that we live, it's good to find a real Christian man (or woman). Sorry if I sound awkward, I am brazilian and didn't pay much attention to my english classes.
Do not miss out on inspiration this book can bring to your life. There is nothing more precious than the way Billy expresses his love for our Lord Jesus.
I was looking for a book with short, daily devotions, and "Unto the Hills" fit the bill. I would have liked the devotions to be a little more daily-life related however, and less Scripture interpretations. It was quite heavy on the theme "you should rejoice in your sufferings." While that might make spiritual sense, it's difficult to accept, and not exactly balm for the soul after a hard day at the office!
I enjoyed reading this devotional throughout the year. It helped through my low and high points of my life. I felt sad to see the journey end with the book, but I know God is still with me as I continue on my journey. I am passing this book on to someone for the new year. I would hope everyone would pick it up and spend a year with Rev. Graham.
I liked the format of Graham's devotional. Each day begins with a title and a Bible verse or two. The body of the message often links other verses to the theme of the day. My husband and I appreciated this devotional for its spiritual depth.
It took me well over a year to read this daily devotional book, but it was well worth the read! I wish I had remembered to read it daily! Billy Graham offers excellent insight on how God's Word has and always will be relevant to our lives. I highly recommend it!
This is by far my favorite daily devotional. I have purchased this book for others because it's application to my life has been so spot on! Truly a devotional written by the Holy Spirit through Billy Graham!
An incredible story of life and love. What an encouraging and challenging message in today's marketplace. A very real and uncompromised thread that if chosen will weave a banner for your life.
Lovely daily devotional book from Billy Graham. So glad this was the one I had picked for 2020, because it turned out to be just what I needed to hear every day during an otherwise challenging year!
Billy Graham in his great wisdom and walk with the Lord gives outstanding daily insights to how we should live our life for the Lord. It was very uplifting to read as I started each day throughout this past year!
Another daily devotional from the classic preacher. The content always simple, yet practical. Better than previous devotional by the same author, here you could also get daily prayer. The content also more lengthy than the previous devotional.
Each day I am reminded of Scripture. I have learned another insight, a reminder of our Lords purpose and expectations for us. Billy Graham is a very good teacher and has much wisdom to share.
A beautifully-written and curated daily devotional by the irreplaceable Billy Graham. It's food for the soul and a daily part of my routine. Thank you, Lord, for inspiring Billy to write it.
