Okay, the ending scene to this arc with Wendy and the truth about Cait Shelter gets me every time I read this series. And I also know how cheesy the "friendship is magic" lesson in this series, but I LOVE it. Truly I do. As someone who is tired of the romance stuff, having friendship be the focal point of the message of love is awesome! Next up is the Edolas Arc see you in volume 21. :)
We finish off the Oracion Seis Arc in the first chapter of volume 20. I really enjoyed the arc as a whole. Some pretty cool fights neat new characters and an interesting plot line.
Then we get the obligatory few transition chapters which are absolutely necessary but not terribly exciting where our cast gets to catch up with each other and rest and mend after previous events. My favorite part is Gajeel looking for a cat since it seams that all Dragon Slayer mage’s have cats but him.
After that the last couple chapters lead into the Edolas Arc. This arc seams to be promising albeit a little weird.
Our main team plus Gildarts, Wendy, and Carla on the cover of Volume 20.
Our heroic guild have managed to finally defeat Oracion Sei with all of them putting their strength together. After celebrating and with the return of a long-gone member, an unexpected surprise comes in the form of an alternate universe leaving Natsu, Wendy and their cat companions wondering what’s going on. A (100%/Outstanding)
The finishing touches are put on the story from the previous volume, with the "final boss" (I'm assuming, since I didn't entirely remember what was going on) receiving his final blow and the spider-like fortress falling to pieces. Wendy joins Fairy Tail, we have some intermediary material where a new character is introduced, we learn some more about Jellal and Mystogan (or do we?) and about another dragon. But all of that's almost immediately forgotten as the Fairy Tail guild and most of its members disappear, and we start a new adventure in a kind of Antipodes of this series' world.
The following bullet points contain some minor spoilers for this volume.
- Wendy's and Erza's farewells were both nicely done. I suspect at least one of those farewells won't be permanent, since the character is still alive. - Now I really want Gajeel to find his own cat's egg. What kind of cat would he have? In retrospect it almost seems unfair that Natsu literally tripped over one. - Juvia's a one-note character at this point, sadly (not that she was terrifically deep to start with, but I thought she had more potential than this), and her "relationship" with Gray seems like it will be static for quite some time. At least we saw her for a few panels. - I know that serialized stories can metamorphose over time, but here I think Mashima's whimsical storytelling shortchanges the new characters and story ideas in this volume. I wish they had been explored a bit more before we moved into another major, presumably battle-laden arc. I'll just assume that we'll come back to some of it later on. - Those last two pages. (insert facepalm) Yeah, it's a shonen manga. has a lot of potential for humor, and I'm curious if this will be an arc with a lighter touch than the previous ones.
I couldn’t read his volume without crying 😿😿😿 The master of Cait Shelter was sooooo kind of Wendy. His lie is the greatest in the world!!! Then, Wendy had a new house and Nakama. I hope she could spend her life with many happiness. Also, I am glad that Lucy got new stellar keys.
Roughly books 13 through 20 were so gri9pping that I plowed through them all in a couple days, and given the frustrating, cliffhanger-y way this one ended I suspect the next book to be much the same.
There was a lot packed into this volume. The truth of Cait Shelter and their connection to Nirvana. A resolution, or sorts, to Jellal's storyline. New additions to Fairy Tail. The introduction (at last!) of Gildarts. Information about the Dragons. And a cute, sad little side story with Gajeel being very cute and awkward.
but at the end of this volume, it shifts gears and hauls full-on into what just happened territory, ending on one of the most frustrating cliffhangers I've read in a while. I really, REALLY want the nexy volume now
The truths of Nirvana are coming to light as Lucy, Natsu and their friends investigate the connection between Wendy, the Cait guild, and the origins of Nirvana...Mashima will keep readers guessing with this emotional entry that is sure to tug at the hearts of fans. When the dust finally settles, Wendy will have to make one of the biggest decisions of her young life...
All lining up to do a synchronised attack on the lacrimas Natsu burns through Zero’s death spell with the golden flame Natsu’s final blow (with the strength of a true dragon slayer takes out Zero AS WELL AS Lacrima Richard saves Jallal and Natsu from the rubble of Nirvana There has been a new Magic Council made with Lahar being the commander of the ‘Fourth Regiment: Arrest and Custody Division’ they’ve come to take ‘Hoteyes’ (Richard) into custody Richard reveals the brother he’s been looking for all these years is Wally!!! AS IN ERZA’s WALLY LLLLL Jallal was also arrested under charges of Federal Treason The FT members refuse to let him go, I believe it’s out of love for Erza, but Erza tells them all to stop and to take Jallal. Knowing it’s what’s best for everyone’s sake. He then gives her a little glimpse at memory. Of giving her the last name of ‘Scarlet’ because of her hair The master of Cait Shleter reveals they arnt the decedents of the Nirvit Clan because they ARE the Nirvit Clan and the the man who built Nirvana 400 years ago was in fact him He reveals all the Nirvit’s murdered eachother due to the affects Nirvana, and he was the only one left. Was. Considering his body had rotted away and he is merely a projection now All the guild people were projections made by him, they all start to vanish before Carla and Wendy’s eyes, He apologises for having tricked her. This breaks Wendy and Carla, their marks disappear and so does the master. He is thankful she found some REAL friends and guild mates. Erza comforts Wendy, offering for her to come to Fairytail With everyone going back home to their guilds, it’s revealed that Lucy got the Keys for Gemini, Scorpio and Aries, when Angel was arrested AHAHA!! Gajeel notices Happy and Carla, and wonders why he is a dragon slayer without a cat Gildarts (the most powerful wizard in FT) is coming back, after taking on a Century Quest (s-class > ss-class > decade Quest > Century Quest) the bells of the town are tolling for Magnolia to undergo the ‘Guildarts Shift’ The whole of magnolia has completely re-arranged itself into two to make a path Gildarts wasn’t able to complete the quest (maybe it was the 100 year quest??) Gildarts didn’t know Lisanna died He mentioned a ‘black dragon’ does he mean Acnologia? Gajeel is searching for a cat if his own XD Happy tries so hard to win Carla’s affection, she is very resistant to the point of being so harsh Happy gets upset and Wendy and Lucy try to pull her up on it When he asks her if he’d done anything offend her, she claims that he can’t protect Natsu but she will protect Wendy Wendy runs into Mystogan and thinks he’s Jallal, he corrects her but he is the one who saved her 7 years ago (not Jallal). He also mentions he is not from this world He has been trying to suppress this thing called Anima, that will soon wipe Magnolia off the map Elfman and Mira are going to the cemetery to visit Lisana Anima went off and it took Fairytail and the whole town, Wendy somehow didn’t get taken, nor Natsu or Carla (and assuming happy and Gajeel) why didn’t it take them again?? Anima is the portal to Edolas, the world on the other side (Gosh I don’t like this arc) Happy and Carla are from Edolas and apparently the reason for Magnolia’s disappearance is their fault Edolas is losing its magic, so they began stealing it from the other world, mystogan would go around and shut all the portals but this one was too large Apparently Carla and Happy were given different orders that they were suppose to remember, Carla remembers her’s but Happy doesn’t. This may be why she resents him They fly into the Anima, bringing them to Edolas They find Fairytail but nothing is as it seems, everyone is flipped on their head, Gray can’t stand the cold and simps over Juvia, Jet and Droy are the strongest FT wizards Cana doesn’t drink and is covered up like a proper lady Lucy… is so bad ass

The final showdown between the master of the Oracion Seis and the Alliance group (wizards from Fairy Tail, Cait Shelter, and other guilds) happens a bit too quickly at the beginning of this volume. The aftermath is more interesting, as characters sort out their feelings for each other and the Alliance members head back to their guilds. When our heroes return to Fairy Tail, a lot of new mythology is introduced. A higher level magical mission (way above the S-class missions) has been pursued by Gildarts, one of the most powerful wizards in the guild. His century mission (as in it takes a hundred years to complete) has failed since he had a run in with a black dragon. This revelation gets Natsu's interest, since he wants to find the dragon that trained him, All the dragons mysteriously disappeared several years ago. That quest will have to wait since Fairy Tail and the whole town of Magnolia has mysteriously disappeared through a magic portal. Magical talking cat Carla is forced to reveal her origin and that of Happy, Natsu's magical talking cat.
As I said, I thought the big finale for the Oracion Seis arc was not all that impressive. The new developments are intriguing though they seem like new additions to keep the story going rather than something planned all along. I'm ready for my break from Fairy Tail and this seems like a good spot. It's been fun and I may come back, but I will be trying another manga series soon.
This will be my full review for this entire series. I already read this comic from volume 1-30. Suppose there 50 volume more of this series but I prefer not to finish it as I don't really like the time-skip idea in this series.
To clarify, I love the idea of time-skip. But, in this series, I really hate it. It make Natsu and other main member weaker. Why make them weaker? I want to see MC progress throughout the series. Then, suddenly become weaker. Not to mention when MC want to win each battle, power of friendship keep coming back each battle.
Furthermore, there are a lot of un-explained things happened in this series. The dots are not connected rather than scattered throughout the series. It just there to fill the plot-hole. Rather than explaining, Mr Hiro keep continuing the series and keep adding new characters each volume.
So, after the time-skip, I determine to stop reading this series. I don't want to ruin my memories of this awesome series. For most part, this series actually had huge potential because of interesting and lovable character, but the plot is keep on damaging this series slowly.
Thoughts on this volume: • In a long line of things that I forgot before rereading: I totally forgot Jellal got arrested. I thought he went on the run here, but no, they came to collect his ass early. • I feel so bad for Wendy, like she was saying the fake guild members' names as they disappeared, calling out for them because they all raised her, and they WEREN'T EVEN REAL!!! • That little girl is stronger than me, I'd have tried to pull a Jellal. • Mystogan coming back into play and ruining any possible character development/ backstory Jellal had for no reason before saying "we're all gonna die and the sky is falling" yeah. • Sidenote, how many members of Fairy Tail did he stumble across during the thirty seconds when the guild was being vacuum cleaned into another world? • If Jellal/ Mystogan world no magic, then why Jellal/ Mystogan so good wizard?

Wendy e Charle entrano in Fairy Tail.

The Guild Wars come to a conclusion in this volume...and immediately as par for the course, we begin a new story that seems to be even BIGGER!?! Wendy officially joins Fairy Tail (which anyone reading the book could have predicted, but it is still a very heartwarming moment). We also meet the strongest Fairy Tail Guild Member (FINALLY) Gildarts Clive!!! On top of all this...seems like the whole city of Magnolia is in danger! On top of all of this we get some more origin story pieces about Happy which is always enjoyable in my opinion. Great volume! Great art! Brand new direction! (Or so it seems to me)
“Just as darkness gives birth to light…light will also give birth to darkness.”
Jellal being taken away from Ezra again… will they ever catch a break?
It was pointed out that both Natsu and Wendy have a cat companion—Happy and Carla. But Gajeel doesn’t have one, I’m actually really interested in the reason why—is there one? When will he get his own/will he ever find an egg with a Cat?
Gajeel trying to find his own Cat was so cute, it’s like he’s jealous of Natsu and Wendy and he’s got to have his own.
The split felt a bit uneven to me--I wish they'd included just a touch more of the battle material with the Oracion Seis in this volume as it finished off. Still, that was a great storyline.
The new Edosa (Sp.? too lazy to check right now) arc that starts at the end and limits our protagonists to dragon slayers Wendy and Natsu and their winged cats looks fantastic. In fact It feels like the most intriguing in some time.
This is purely rated 4 stars for the arc ending with Jellal. I would've rated it 2 stars for everything else. There's some weird stuff going on near the end of this volume and it appears I'm going to be fairly confused until I pick up the next one.
