Kerana desakan jahat yang menghantui fikiram, Zari medaftar diri masuk ke wad psikiatri. Ditahan setidak-tidaknya selama 72 jam, Zari sedar dia tiada banyak masa untuk menyingkap rahsia hitam yang disembunyikan oleh Hospital Atma.

Bertemu Kaz yang punya agenda tersendiri itu tiada dalam perancangan Zari. Jika Zari sedang mencari sepihan teka teki yang sekian lama menghantui, Kaz pula ingin menuntut jawapan tentang misteri di sebalik nama baik Atma.

Ada apa di Hospital Atma? Rahsia apa yang tersimpan kemas di sana?
Siapakah yang mendaftar dirinya sendiri untuk masuk ke wad psikiatri dengan rela hati? Tidak lain tidak bukan. Zarilah orangnya.
Zari ada misi di Hospital Atma. Berbekalkan 72 jam yang dia ada di sana. Dia perlu dapatkan sesuatu sebagai bukti -- ada seseorang yang dikenali Zari hilang di sana tanpa jejak bertahun-tahun lamanya.
Bertemu dengan Doktor Kaz yang juga mempunyai misi yang sama -- pesakitnya hilang tanpa jejak. Mereka berdua bergabung untuk londehkan Hospital Atma. Apa yang berlaku seterusnya? Berjayakah mereka?
Kita suka karakter Zari. She so strong. Permulaan cerita yang menarik. Rasa macam kita pula ada dalam Hospital Atma tu. Dengan explanation yang baik dari penulis mengenai suasana hospital wad & tingkahlaku pesakit. Rasa lebih real. Kita suka watak Zari. She fighter. Dengan keadaan dia yang macamtu. Dia dah buktikan. Jangan pandang dia macam takda mata hokey.
And Zari kombo dengan Doktor Kaz pula. Memang macamni 🫶🏻

"Nampak macam bilik rawatan..tapi dia bukan macam bilik rawatan..." - Zari
Selain bergenre thriller. Ada diselitkan genre romance & horror sikit. Semuanya seimbang dan tidak berlebihan. Kita jelas dengan storyline. Kita tahu apa yang penulis cuba nak sampaikan. Bila individu menjadi tamak dan salahguna kuasa. Memang akan membahayakan ramai pihak. Yang tak bersalah mati katak macamtu saja.
Selepas Kambus. Saya memang menantikan karya dari penulis @ayumi.lawa . She memang berbakat menulis genre thriller. Personally, for those yang dah biasa baca karya Ayumi. Memang tak akan ada masalah dengan writing style beliau. So far so good. Mungkin she banyak tengok horror/thriller movie & tambah dengan pengalaman hidup. Maka Hush, Now menjadi satu naskah yang tidak mengecewakan.
It's not easy at all menulis isu mental health. Penulis memang kena banyak buat research. Dan saya percaya penulis buat sebab bukan semudah ABC nak letak penggunaan terma, nama ubat & rawatan. Korang akan belajar banyak benda dalam buku ni for sure.

Wow, this is honestly one of the most unique reads I’ve had in a while. Imagine almost the entire story taking place inside a psychiatric hospital. But Hospital Atma isn’t just a background setting. In fact, it becomes the heart of the story—filled with secrets, trauma, and long-buried painful truths. From the very beginning, my mind was already questioning, “What is this hospital really hiding?”
What makes it even better is how clearly you can feel the hospital’s atmosphere. The patients come with all kinds of personalities. Some emotionally touching, some unsettling, and yes… some downright creepy 👀 Even though the theme of mental health is heavy, the storytelling doesn’t feel overwhelming. Instead, it leans more toward mystery and curiosity, and I love how subtly everything unfolds.
Plot-wise? Fast-paced. Every chapter made me want to keep reading. The investigation scenes involving Zari and Dr. Kaz, especially when they sneak into the restricted area near the hospital basement, gave me a real adrenaline rush. The tension felt like watching a thriller scene, constantly thinking, “What if they get caught?” Yet at the same time, the curiosity to uncover the truth keeps pulling you forward.
I really love how strong Zari is. She’s a survivor. She’s been through so much, yet she still tries her best to stay alive and keep going. Some of her decisions may seem impulsive, but to me, they felt like the right choices at the right moments.
I also enjoyed the dynamic between Zari and Dr. Kaz. The ‘patient + psychiatrist’ combination surprisingly works 😜 Their relationship feels natural, with a light touch of romance. So don’t expect heavy romance here. Just enough to make you smile without overshadowing the main plot. Though… I do agree their relationship developed quite fast 😅
Beyond the thriller aspect, the story also includes elements of mystery and crime. When the truth is finally revealed, the anger and disappointment really hit, especially when it involves people in power who abuse their authority in the name of treatment and progress. Supposedly for the greater good, yet innocent lives end up paying the price.
I truly enjoyed this book. A gripping thriller with mystery, strong characters, and consistent pacing. If this book is still considered underrated, then honestly, I believe it deserves far more recognition ✨

My opinion:
Zari dan Kaz ni dua-dua karakter yang ada isu dan matlamat tersendiri di Hospital Atma; Zari daftarkan diri sendiri ke wad psikiatri atas isu mentalnya dan Kaz pulak salah seorang doktor psikiatri di Atma. Tapi ada something yang diaorang share berdua; untuk merungkai misteri dan rahsia hitam yang disorok oleh Atma.
For me, this book is complete with the mystery, appropriately enough romance and the touch on real-life issues. I’ve also grown to like Zari a lot throughout the book, memula rasa kesian tapi lama-lama sedar yang she’s been through SO much yet she tries her best to stay alive and survive her harsh workplace and life at her best. Walaupun mungkin sesetengah orang akan cakap Zari ni suka buat keputusan melulu tapi in my eyes, she’s made the best decision at the right timing; for her own benefits and putting herself first.
I enjoy:
- the mystery and on how they unravel it together.
- the descriptive language makes me feel like i’m there with them.
- the connection Zari shares with her fellow ward-mates.
- Kaz’s gentleness and understanding and willingness to learn more on Zari’s headache / migraine issues.
I don’t personally enjoy:
- The somewhat rushed romance plot between them, prefer them being platonic for a longer time.
