Author's This is just a short story bundle and nothing more so if you decide to cough up a buck then you should be aware of that. To be honest I would probably give these stories away for free here if I could but I can't. They will probably show up on my blog soon anyway, as soon as their Amazon exclusivity requirements have expired – and when that happens you can read them for free there if you choose. But if you feel like tipping the bartender now then, hey, that's cool too. Think of it as a virtual tip jar. It IS very much appreciated.

And I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Sometimes... seeing is believing.

"It's an unidentified flying object," Joe told the crowd.

"You mean like a flying saucer?" some girl said, clearly excited by the revelation. She was wearing a pink Mossy Oaks sweatshirt, more an homage to something you would hunt in rather than something that you would actually hunt in. Which was fine by me. Those redneck honeys were insanely cute anyway and she was too, but she still wasn't cute enough to draw my eyes away from the UFO (it was a pretty close contest though).

"Not necessarily," Joe said. "It's just something we can't identify."

Joe never was all that good with the women. Too nerdy for his own good. Me, I would've just told her what she wanted to hear. But it was his show now. The entire crowd was hanging on his every word. And he was eating it up. Truth was he'd probably forgotten more on the subject than I'd ever known anyway.

"This is a lot like the one they filmed in Mexico City about two years ago," Joe said and the crowd ooh'd then it awe'd. "But that turned about to be a hoax."

The crowd was looking at him now, all ears.

"I think this one's probably real though," Joe said and every face in the crowd lit up. Everyone there wanted to believe it. Hell, even I wanted to believe it. But then I remembered something that I'd read a long time ago when I was in college, something that was written by the late astrophysicist Carl Sagan.

Extraordinary claims, he said, require extraordinary evidence.

Somewhere in an apartment complex a crowd of people gather to observe a strange object in the sky. But what happens next is out of this world... Word 2100 words.
