Kayla’s Chick Rant & Book Blog Blog Post: 1/17/15 My name is Kayla and I’m a blogger who believes in fairy tales. Through the anonymity of my blog, along with my reviews of the steamy novels I like to read, I tell the stories of my own search for love. No matter how disastrous they turn out—and believe me, you will ask yourself ‘Did that really happen?’—I never gave up, knowing my soul mate was out there somewhere. When my big brother invited me to move to Houston for a semester of college, I jumped at the opportunity to leave my small hometown to see what it was like to live in a big city. Having no friends and not knowing where to go, I met a guy online and met up with him that night. Because…YOLO, right? Turns out, he was an okay guy. Not ‘The One’, but still, a good enough guy to spend time with. But then, he introduced me to his best friend Jason, and my world tilted on its axis. The dark, tough, tatted-up guy, who was too broody for his own good, captivated me. But he made it perfectly clear, I wasn’t his type.
Author's Note: The Blogger Diaries Trilogy is the true story of how I met, fell for, lost, and got a second chance at love with my soul mate. The names of everyone EXCEPT me, Jason, my family, and my best friend have been changed to protect their identities. Full of youthful stupidity, leading to bad decisions and lots of angst, it is a real life story, where inevitably things are messy.
No one can look back at their late teens and early twenties and not think of moments that make them ask, What the hell was I thinking? Every second of this trilogy is true, exactly as it happened.
The first book, Wished For You, is a tale of finding ‘the one’ too early, and then having to let them go.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a true trilogy, meaning the first two books END ON CLIFFHANGERS. But if you take the journey with me, in the end, I promise you a happily ever after you will never forget. I know I won’t.

I should have taken the "Blogger Diaries" title a little more seriously. This really read like an teenager's MySpace entry to me. Unfortunately, this format doesn't work for me, and I wasn't able to finish this book.
I was overwhelmed with all of the mundane details and name dropping and found myself rolling my eyes too many times, too early in the story.
I was interested to read this one, as the blogger-turned-author storyline appealed to me. Sadly, we're just not a match.
A fantastic story of finding "The One". This story takes you through every single emotion, I laughed until I cried and at times felt my heart crack in two. The way it is written made me feel as though I was hanging with friends, it's not one you want to miss out on. Look for great things from Ms.Robichaux, she hit this one out of the park
Review to come... :) Note: I was given this book as a beta read but due to unforeseen circumstances, didn't make it in time to beta. So this is now an ARC review as the author was kind enough to give me a copy to review.
Sincer nu mai am răbdare cu ea. Am citit până la 44%, so this is enough of my time. 🤠
Stilul este unul foarte simplist și boring. Not even funny.
Mai trist este că această trilogie este povestea de viață a autoarei, cum l-a cunoscut pe actual ei soț.🤡 Maybe irl this is a cute story with a happy ending, but it was boring to read.
If not, it’s gonna be another DNF. Just…life.🥲 Tik tok, you fooled me again.

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars! OMG I loved it! This was actually the author's real story meeting her hubby. This was like one of the stories I've read before but NOT really. I needed this! This was sooo good! 😊 I'm off to book 2. I would definitely recommend.
Its very crazy reading a book and knowing its all REAL like every single page happened to one of your best friends!
This book is seriously HILARIOUS. WITTY. AND HEARTBREAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jason I love u but seriously dude u need a kick in the balls--then a hug ;)
I was up and down and all over the damn place reading this. Book 2 is going to be just as amazing and probably 100x more heartbreaking! I don't know how my heart will survive these books! Hell I don't know how Kayla survived living haaaa.
The only thing that helps is we know there is a happy ending at the end of this long, twisting tunnel. This book had some of the best inner dialog I've ever read that literally had me LAUGHING OUT LOUD at it.
If you're looking for a new series to read about love, heartache, and star crossed lovers more stubborn than a damn mule then #oneclick this book TODAY! & pre order book 2 ASAP!
Bruh crush my heart why don’t you? Seriously felt like I was talking to my best friend while she was telling me about her crazy romantic adventures. So adorable, I’m loving this!!!
Just fantastic!!!! This book was recommended to me by a friend. I couldn't wait to read it and I was not disappointed. Kayla is a blogger from North Carolina, she wants to go to school in Texas. So she applies and gets in. She packs up all her things and goes too live with her brother and his wife. After being there for a short time she signs up for a dating site. Gavin pop's up in her search, he's tall, dark, handsome and totally obnoxious. But she agrees too date him and they sleep together after date 2. Poor Gavin struck out in that department too.....lol. Enter Jason and Adam. Adam is very quiet. He likes to just blend in. But Jason, is larger then life. Soon Kayla develops a crush on Jason. At this point she has put Gavin in the friend zone. But he's too arrogant to understand that. A few months into their " relationship" Gavin breaks things off with Kayla. He then tells her she is too stay away from his friends......The scoop stops here. I promise you this book is a must/ It's the first in a series and this girl can't wait for the next book
A true story written by a book blogger about her life. A true love story. In fact it was hard to believe that this wasn't fiction most of the time. Mainly because I live in a completely different country and can't imagine what life is like living in the U.S.A.
The other interesting thing is that as a reader, you already know what the outcome will be for this couple so this series is the journey that got them to each other. There is no second guessing if there will be a HEA, it will happen but the path to get there is not a smooth one.
I will definitely be reading the other two books in this series as I am very curious to know how this will all play out.
First off let me say this is the FIRST book I've reviewed in 2015 that I've given 5 STARS!!!
ARC REVIEW FROM ABIBLIOPHOBIA ANONYMOUS BOOK REVIEWS
First off let me get this off my chest. HOLY CRAP! I LOVED THIS BOOK HARD! Okay, now that we have that out of the way. Teehee.
Reading KD Robichaux's book will have you swooning, swooning hard, but it takes time to get to those parts.
This is Kayla's story. Her story about meeting the one, but it's never that easy, right. We all know that.
A semester in Houston, a big new city. Kayla is wanting friends. Where should one go to find those? Well, Plenty of Fish, of course. I know you know what POF is. You probably have a profile. I used too.
Meeting Gavin will bring her to her possible future, Jason... Gavin's Best bud.
But will Jason even feel the same about Kayla? She's different than the women he's into.
You shall see...
With this debut novel, KD hits it out of the ball park. This book is full of hilarious moments that will have you laughing in the quite of the night. Hoping not to wake your significant other. Wished For You pulls you from the very first page, and doesn't let you go. You'll be screaming and maybe cursing KD out... I know I did. We're left with a dang cliffy! Dang it. The whole reason I absolutely enjoyed this book is because it's Kayla's story. HER TRUE STORY. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us with the next book. I'm ready, KD! BRING IT ON!!! And ps... if Jason wasn't yours I would so be crushing on him. Lol.
I can't begin to tell y'all how much I LOVED this book. This is not a book I would have found on my own because it's taken from Kayla's blog and is her true real life story and I just wouldn't have thought this would be a book I would read and enjoy. But, I was lucky enough to win a copy in a group I belong to on FB. And boy am I glad I did. This book has it all.... great romance, hot sex, a friends to lover story, heartache and oh so many other emotions. Kayla was upfront with me when I won the book telling me this book 1 in a 3 book series and there is a cliffhanger at the end of both books 1 and 2. But WOW what a cliffhanger she gave us!!!
I was hooked from the first page. I got to laugh, be shocked, get angry at some of the guys' actions and thoughts, and read some of the hottest sex I've read.... and that's saying a lot given the number of books that I read. The fact that this is a true story, you almost feel like you're being a peeping tom while reading about Jason and Kayla having this aforementioned hot sex. As we get further in the book, we see how Jason is becoming to have strong feelings for Kayla and Kayla "knows" that Jason is "the one". As is to be expected, it doesn't go as smoothly as we'd all like true love stories to go.... if you're anything like me, when you get to the end, you'll literally say WTF???!!!!
I'll leave you with this... 1-click this book as I promise you, you won't be sorry!!! You'll be hooked too and want to see how the story unfolds in the next installment in this series!
Wished for You is the first installment in a friends-turned-lovers story. While book one is a cliff-hanger, books two and three are already available. A tiny bit of a spoiler, it’s also a story about a second chance at love (and yes, I did read the other two books in the series but I couldn’t be left dangling!). What’s even more remarkable is that it’s all true. I think that is the part of the story which got me the most; the author bares her soul, mistakes, and path to finding her happily ever after.
There are lots of bumps along the way (seriously, I can’t believe some of the stuff this woman has weathered!), but one thing is blatantly obvious – she’s a strong woman and she knows who owns her heart. What I did find very interesting is her foreword stating she tried to keep the story as authentic as possible, only changing the names of friends. It makes you wonder if it was easier or harder to write a memoir; unlike writing fiction, you relive the highs and lows in the process of committing them to paper.
Since this is truly a memoir that sounds a whole lot like fiction, don’t stop at book one; you don’t get the whole picture and only a fractionated idea of who these people are. Because it’s a true story, I found I had to put the book down a few times in the course of reading it, remember that the agony and tears she writes were very much real.
The story contains some funny throwback moments (hello MySpace and flared jeans!), and I enjoyed taking a walk through her past. Be ready for some angst, frustration, and heartache. It’s worth it in the end!
***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review - Sanne / Scandalous Book Blog***
The Blogger Diaries immediately peeked my interest definitely since I am a blogger myself. So I asked Kayla for an ARC and she kindly provided me with one.
Wished for You didn't feel like a traditional novel to me, it felt more like a mix of that and blogposts and I found that to be rather refreshing.
Major bonus points for how sex was incorporated... It wasn't like wham bam thank you ma'm but it was built up nicely throughout the story. You just new that they were soulmates, all the tiny things that kept adding up were unbelieveable, it really seems that they were both put on this earth destined to be with one another.
I was very much engrossed with this story and felt really connected with it, that's probably because the books are in fact based on true events.
I'd hightly recommend it to not only all bloggers and authors out there but to everyone that wants to see that eventhough life and love are incredibly difficult, true love will conquer all. Although we must wait until book three to see that actually happening.
Book one ends on a very sad note and will make you wonder how on earth they'll get past that. I was almost crying myself and felt so hurt for both of them.
A wonderfull first novel by editor extraordinaire K.D. Robichaux!
Loved it! Knowing I'll be reading a true story creeps the sh*t out of me but that doesn't stopped me from opening this book and read it in one sitting. There are times I have to stop reading because I can't stop laughing. I love how different is this book from the usual romance book and not any less. It is FUNNY and SEXY. What pulls me more in this book is the honesty on how the author retold her real-life story in a manner like I'm her new best friend and she was telling me the story of her life. Also, we are in the same age so I can really relate with all the movies, music and books. For me, the ending doesn't sound like a cliffy maybe because I know this story will end up with HEA. As I close the book and read KD Robichaux acknowledgement. I cried, i don't why but maybe because she strongly shared her stories out in the world that somehow made me know her. It touched my heart in ways I can't even explain and I am so happy that finally, she fulfilled her dream to become an author.
When I tell you that I never thought I’d actually full on go on a ride with an author, until this. This one it got me. I laughed so hard, I smiled with you, and I cried by God did I cry. And I’m not talking about those sad movie tears I’m talking full on ugly what hell is his problem tears. I had to go buy the other two books as soon as I finished I know this ends in a happy ending but I think it was the fact that this is a true story and you’ve opened yourself up to the world. This book and this author have officially won me with this on. When someone is able to put their raw unfiltered emotions out there for the world to see and still hold their head high I have nothing but the highest respect for you KD as a woman. I can’t wait to see how Jason pulls his head out of his ass. You are a Book Goddess my Love!! You rock!!
OMG this book rocks! Even more so as it's true! You've lived a much more exciting life than I have!!! I do dislike Jason at this moment but I know you get your HEA so I'm staying loyal to him. ( This isn't a spoiler it's in the front of the book) Your writing really made me feel the characters as though I were there with them. I loved how it was just you and your boys hanging out as your bestie was back at home! I'm so excited for part 2 and already trying to guess the twists your life takes before you get your HEA!! Thanks for sharing this with me early. I really am grateful and we at For The Love Of Books congratulate you on a fantastic debut book!!! I award it 5 stars ~ Rosie
I LOVED this book. Kayla gives us a unique and honest journey with this story. As for me, I feel more like we've been hanging out than I've been reading-yes she sucked me in that much-and now that it's done, I am already missing my new BFF. Hot sex scenes, laugh out loud moments, and heart touching tenderness. There is so much innocence and joy in her out look and in her heart that I fell completely in love with her. I am already on pins and needles waiting for the next book. Good Lord I hope the wait isn't too long!!
I received this as a Beta reader and I must say that I loved this book and can not wait for the second one. This story is well written and it sucks you in. You can not wait to see what happens next and sometimes you may even want to skip ahead to find out (I didn't but I wanted to!!). I devoured this book from beginning to end, fell in love with the characters, and have spoken with the author (she's amazing and a Dallas Cowboys fan to boot!!). If you read this book you will not be dissapointed.
4 1/2 stars for this gutsy true story. Sometimes I cringed and thought "No, no, no, don't go there. "But I bonded with the heroine, and always admired her unabashed honesty and heart. I laughed and I cried and the acknowledgement... happy tears. The ending would have left me with a "Oh no you didn't"...except this is a true story, so I kind of know she has her HEA. Can't wait for the next installment!
Honestly, if I had half the balls to write out the crap I did earlier in adulthood, I'd totally do it. BUT I don't. That's one of the reasons I loved this book, it's completely honest. I can't wait to read the next one.
OMG!!! Let me first start by saying I found this series ahhhhmaaazing! I commend KD for putting herself out there and telling her story. I felt as if I was apart of her inner circle of friends and I was experiencing the love and heartache along with KD. There were times I wanted to scream and times where I cried. I don't want to go into details about the book b/c I don't want to spoil it for you future readers! I could not put it down and literally felt like I was fighting sleep. I read with one eye open just so I could try and find out what was going to happen. Yes this series in broken into 3 books but it is well worth reading. This second chance at love story shows how life throws curve balls and how those you love can do dumb things but in the end true love prevails! This was the first series I read by K.D. Robichaux but it will not be my last!
I discovered Kayla on TikTok and after numerous videos(which make me laugh most of the time) and how she said she wrote a trilogy about her own life I’ve finally jumped into her world. I felt many of the emotions she was feeling as I kept reading. This story really laid her soul bare. I hated the cliffhanger because I felt her pain. I look forward to reading the next book. Takes a lot of bravery to write your own love story with all the good, bad and ugly. Very well done.
Everything you need in one book! Super funny sexy and the fact that this is based in a true love story makes it even better! Also the cliffhanger…👀 can we talk about it?! I can’t wait to get my hands into the next one ☝️
Book given by author for a honest review. I totally loved all 3 books in this series. I dont think i have ever read anything like this, with myself being a blogger too I love the way she wrote this. I love that this was a true story.. how she met the man of her dreams, and the long, hard and painful road to getting him and her HEA. This book had me laughing and crying all at the same time. I loved Jason but there were soooooo many time i wanted to junk punch him but then he goes and gets all sweet :) The books flowed so easily. It didn't feel rushed but it was fast paced.. I love love loved Jason's parents and kaylas mom and grandma.. all of her brothers. obviously we know (if you either know her or follow her on social media) we know she gets her HEA but it doesnt come easily.. and the end of this book just proves it..
I have been following K.D. Robichaux on tiktok for months now. This is the first book of hers I picked up- it took my a while out of sheer fear, I adored her on TT and was scared that I wouldn't like her book (despite all of them sounding fantastic and right up my alley). Well needless to say I'm a fool to have waited. This was fantastic- Wished for you is book 1 in her real life romance between her and her husband. I really need to get started on book 2 asap, cause I'm not a huge fan of his at the moment lol- however I know their story ends well. I love the way this book was written, it kind of felt like your new bestie telling you her story... so great! Now.. excuse me while I go buy the rest of her books :)
