A year ago, agent Kyra Sanders almost closed the case of her career—almost, but not quite. Her boyfriend and colleague ended up cheating on her with the perp she was chasing, blowing the case and ruining Kyra’s belief in happily ever after. When she’s given a second chance to catch this crook, she’s determined not to let anything interfere.
Quinn Daniels is an FBI agent with a hell of a skeleton in his closet: his father was a career criminal. Locked up in federal prison, he still manages to torment Quinn, never letting him forget that he failed as a son and a human being. Hard-drinking, hard-talking Quinn vows to stay on the straight and narrow.
But when Kyra and Quinn are assigned to go undercover as a married couple, trouble—and desire—flares. Opposites may attract, but can they keep the heat between them undercover long enough to close their case?
Undercover Heat is the second in the Tough Love series, following Naked Truth. This one is set in Detroit, and introduces you to FBI agents Quinn Daniels and Kyra Sanders. You'll learn about the respective skeletons in their closets, you'll follow along for the ride when they are assigned to work an undercover assignment pretending to be husband and wife, and you'll get to curl your toes right along with them when they finally give in to the desire simmering (boiling!) between them. And then you'll feel the angst and frustration as they struggle to figure out how to make this thing work - and hopefully not blow their case in the process.
I love these two characters. I loved writing Quinn as he learned how to love, learned how to decide he wasn't such a bad guy after all, despite his rough beginnings. And I loved how Kyra hadn't really entirely given up on the concept of love, despite a very, very bad experience with it, before meeting Quinn.
I hope you enjoy their journey, and if you do, please consider leaving a review to let me know. Thank you!
Title: Undercover Heat Series: Tough Love Designation: Book Two of Series, Full-Length Standalone, NO Cliffhanger Author: Tami Lund Genre: Contemporary Romantic Suspense Reading Platform: Kindle Unlimited My Rating: Deliciously Delightful Stars***** Wow! Lund has demonstrated her exceptional talent and writing ability in yet another new release, Undercover Heat! And it is definitely hot! Oh my! The story is exciting, thrilling, addictive, well written, witty, romantic, arousing, steamy and sexy! The dialog is smart, well articulated, sassy, snappy, humorous and fluid. The characters are well developed, relatable, lovable and intriguing. The banter between the characters is hot, adorable, very entertaining and at times, downright hilarious! And the attraction and heat level between the two primary characters is off the charts. These elements combine to give readers a wonderfully entertaining read!
Beautiful blonde FBI agent Kyra Sanders has been working the same case for the last two years. It almost ended her career and it did end her relationship with her partner and now ex-boyfriend Keith Oshard who betrayed her with the perp no less! Hoping to still close the case, Kara transfers from Dallas to the Detroit office in pursuit of the allusive Whitney Bianca aka Whitney White, "Ponze" scheme extraordinaire. When her new boss partners her with handsome, not-so-charming, fellow agent Quinn Daniels, to go undercover as husband and wife, she is beyond angry and frustrated! Quinn is an arrogant jerk and Kyra doesn't even like him. Quinn Daniels should not be attracted to the lovely Kyra. She's not even his type. She's just too wholesome for his tastes! He doesn't do dating and relationships. Nope! Not him! He has too many secrets and way too much emotional baggage. No woman would ever want to be involved with someone like him, would they? But no matter how hard they fight it, Kyra and Quinn's hearts seem to have minds of their own. Will the two agents be able to deny their attraction and close the case once and for all? Or will Whitney manage to allude the FBI again? Nope, Kyra always gets her man.....uh ....criminal! Absolute perfection!
***Undercover Heat is Book Two of the Tough Love Series but is a full-length standalone read with NO cliffhanger. Each book of the series features a different couple and does end with a HEA.
was given an ARC copy of Undercover Love in exchange for an honest review. Let me tell you Tami knows how to entertain with written words.
I am introduced to Quinn, he is an FBI agent who has plenty of inner demons. From the first introduction of him it is obvious that he is in pain, but he covers it up.
Then I got a chance to meet Kyra. Kyra is one cool costumer and I like that. She is one of the women who can prove you wrong and I like that in a female character.
The two of them are paired together to close Kyra’s case that has been haunting her for the last year. And here is the kicker, they are paired as a married couple.
Tami had me hooked from the very beginning. The chemistry between Quinn and Kyra was very evident and I absolutely loved that.
There is enough suspense and twists and turns that keeps you turning page after page until you reach the end.
I have just finished reading 'Undercover Heat' by Tami Lund. Let me tell you, it's hot, sexy and a great read.
The story follows Quinn and Kyra, two undercover detectives who pretend to be married to solve a case. They could probably get along and possibly even fall in love if only they could get over the emotional scars from their pasts, that they let run their present.
The characters are complex and as the story develops, more is revealed about their pasts to explain how they became the way they are.
The story is fast paced and hooks the reader immediately. The author has done a great job of setting the scene and creating characters the reader will come to care about.
Can these two cool characters get over their past hurts to find love or will they let the past dictate their future?
I was given this book as an ARC, and I immediately fell in love with the characters. Quinn is a cop, with a secret, a tough guy with no room for relationships in his life. Kyra has been hurt in the past, and she has trouble trusting men. These two come together, and the sparks start flying. Crime fiction meets romance, in this book that you won't be able to put down until you get to the very end! Highly recommended.
I fell in love with Quinn and Kyra. Quinn is the tough guy FBI agent who thinks his past is so bad he doesn't deserve happiness and Kyra is gun shy because of a bad past relationship. I love the witty banter between the two of them and the sexual tension. I could not put this book down once I started it. A perfect book to curl up with on a cold winter day.
I absolutely loved this book! Even better than the first one, Naked Truth. Loved the characters, the pace, the dialogue - everything. Couldn't put it down, and can't say enough about it. Nicely done, Tami Lund!
Even though our hero starts out distinctly unlikeable, he quickly becomes a swoonworthy stud as he finally finds the right woman.
FBI Agent Quinn Daniels is an alcoholic asshat. Fellow Agent Kyra Sanders has worked 12 feet away from the pervy slimeball for 6 months and the two have barely spoken. When they're paired up to go undercover as a married couple, neither has any desire to be in close proximity with the other. At least, not that they'll admit out loud.
Quinn secretly wants to find out what's under Kyra's sweet, fresh-faced look, and Kyra can't hide her reaction to his--purely professional--kisses. Their relationship grows closer as their case gets stronger, but with some serious demons in both their pasts, is a future even possible?
Man, does Ms. Lund make it really hard to like Quinn! He drinks too much, is crude, rude and sleeps with whatever looks his way. His development throughout UNDERCOVER HEAT is interesting and thorough, he goes from drunken dog in heat to man in love as he falls hard and fast for Kyra. He battles deep demons that make hers look like child's play in comparison, but he doesn't trivialize them or make her feel bad in any way. He stands by her and in the process becomes a better man.
Kyra takes a while to learn to trust after her last disastrous relationship, and it was interesting to see how she reacted to Whitney (who I strangely enjoyed in an evil villain kind of way). The chemistry between the couple was thick, the sex erotically charged. I didn't realize this was the second book in the Tough Love Series, but I'll definitely be checking out the other offerings now that I know!
Bottom Line: Check out this smart and sexy book featuring MC's with distinctly human sides that make them more lovable. - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...
I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Undercover Heat is one of those books that you'll blaze through and then regret that you read it so quickly because you'll miss the characters when it's done. Quinn and Kyra are both multi-faceted characters with read reactions, flaws, and emotions.
The suspense element, the case that brings them together, was well thought out. The astute reader will have a good idea of where things are going before Kyra and Quinn, but there's enough misdirection that as you go through the book, you'll wonder if you've figured it all out or if something's going to come through and smack you upside the head before the end.
The sex scenes are well done--hot without being over the top and you can tell that the author cares about not only her characters, but about the readers. Tami Lund consistently provides quality reads that you can count on, without worrying about any significant editing issues or plot holes. It's refreshing to pick up a book and know that it's going to be well written, edited, and executed.
I recommend this book for anyone who likes steamy suspense and rich characters.
What a brilliant read. Lund’s fast paced, fun loving style is perfect for the story at hand. She develops her story in detail while still allowing readers the opportunity to use their imagination. She also develops all facets of the story. The characters relationships inside and outside the house, their work lives, and what they’re working on are all equally important. It all combines into a quick, fun read that I had trouble putting down.
Lund’s well developed, realistic, and approachable characters were a joy to get to know. Not only were they great people in their own right but the dynamics of this lead couple were priceless. The chemistry between them was palpable. The banter was a joy to read, keeping the story upbeat, while the conflict between them made them who they were.
This was definitely a fun and enjoyable read. Lund kept me entertained with her fast paced, witty story. I would highly recommend it to those who enjoy romance in an upbeat setting.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

This book was extremely easy to read. It had all the elements that I like, including great characters, a well thought out plot and setting, and a crime being solved. The author did a great job explaining the back story of the characters, as well as the settings throughout the book. There are also two main morals to take away from the book, don’t judge others and don’t blame every man for a mistake that a certain man made. I would read anything else from this author or this series of books in a heartbeat, and I would recommend anyone that is interested in romance novels with a crime solving twist, plus a bit of adult content to do the same.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Tami Lund has done it again. Undercover Heat is a great read. Quinn, the leading man, is tortured by his difficult past and numbs his pain with alcohol. Kyra is running from her past too. She runs all the way to Detriot to attempt to close a case she's been working for years. When they are assigned to be partners on a case, they are forced to try and get along. The romantic tension is awesome and Undercover Heat is a super sexy read. The author never disappoints when it comes to sexy. The main characters are very likeable and I found myself really rooting for them to find happiness. The pacing is great and I couldn't put the book down. I read it in one sitting! I loved this book!
Quinn is gorgeous. Kyra is a strong woman. Both of them have baggage, and a case that needs solving.
Oh gosh, I think Quinn might be my favorite character from this author. He's all types of broken and perfect. In fact both Kyra and Quinn are emotionally complex characters who have enough to deal with before having to join forces in solving the crime. I could go on but ugh spoilers sweetie, and I don't want to accidentally give anything away. Great story, fast pacing, excellent characters. I loved it and would recommend it to... anyone who reads romance really.
I couldn't put it down. Well, actually I wouldn't pick it up if I couldn't spend some time keeping up with Quinn and Kyra! It seemed like the story line was a bit of a stretch and I would have liked to see more set up between the two characters prior to the assignment. Once started, the progression seemed to advance pretty rapidly given the circumstances but maybe not the characters? Then again, maybe the fact that I couldn't put it down made it go by so fast! Part of it were laugh out loud funny too! Great follow up to Naked Truth! Highly recommend!
Two FBI agents are assigned together on a case as a married couple to try to close the case and find that there is chemistry between them that is hard to ignore. I loved these characters, Quinn, had a rough childhood and doesn't do relationships and Kyra's last relationship ended badly so she doesn't want a relationship either. Can they help each other overcome their past and make it work? I loved that it is written with both characters POV. This book has suspense and romance that hooked me right away and kept me hooked until the end. I was given an ARC for a fair and honest review.
****I was given an ARC in return for an honest review. **** A-freaking-mazing. I am never disappointed by Mrs. Lund's books. This book was un-put-downable . I loved it. The perfect amount of tension, wicked sexy times (hello boxing) and humor. I am always stoked yo get an opportunity to read books by Mrs. Lund. Make sure you search her out.
Another great read by Tami Lund that I could not put down. I quickly got attached to Quinn and Kyra and could not wait to see what happened next. A few twists and turns in the story kept me interested until the end.
Omg!!!! Finally a book that didn't overuse smirking!!! There was only 1 smirk in the whole book!! ONE!!
I would recommend this book solely based on that, but that's not all this book had to offer. It was a quick happy read with a perfect happily ever after.
Such a fun and sexy read! I devoured this book in less than 24 hours and the irresistibly charming banter between hero and heroine put a grin on my face the entire time!
Undercover Heat Detroit FBI Field Office: We meet Quinn Daniels a thirty something man that is good at his job. He likes women but refuses to form any attachments. He drinks too much and has secrets. Kyra Sanders has transferred from Dallas to Detroit. She was forming a case against a woman a year ago when everything fell apart. The woman was getting inside information to evade the law and sleeping with an FBI agent that was dating Kyra. She gets new information that the woman has relocated to Detroit. Now this case is personal. The FBI Field Director puts Quinn and Kyra together for an undercover operation. They must pretend to be a married couple and play house. Neither is prepared to the attraction. They slowly bond as they try to close the case. Quinn and Kyra become close. Can they both learn to trust and love each other? This book was a page turner. Quinn is much more than a drinking, no relationship, guy her appears. Kyra has been betrayed and burned by a dirty FBI boyfriend. This was good book that leads you through an undercover field operation to a relationship. Good characters, fast paced and interesting!
Really confused on all the 5 star reviews - this book was problematic with terrible characters. Can't even be bothered to go into everything that was wrong with it / what sucked, but suffice to say, do not recommend
Ok, so I read the first book - NAKED TRUTH - and honestly I liked it but not the point I say I loved it. I was looking for some action-filled story, with a real plot AND one that still had all the hot, spicy, juicy, intriguing lead-characters moments that I love 😁 NAKED TRUTH was kinda that, but didn't quite get to me.. I don't know why.. Still I wanted to at least try starting the next book from the series, to see if maybe it was the ONE 😅
w e l l. . . i t w a s. . .
UNDERCOVER HEAT has everything I was looking for to reading lately (as sort of a break and a change of 'flavour') It has an interesting plot - it's not only about the lead characters and their steamy scenes, which don't get me wrong, there are a lot - steamy, yet realistic, romantic scenes.. Anyways, seriously though, I L O V E I T, I cried, laughed and felt tingly inside with this book. 😅 Definitely one of my favorite! The fact that I actually decided to write a review says a lot.
Hands down my new favorite from Tami. 2 FBI agents, 1 big case. Insecurities, past trauma and a chance at the real thing. Quinn and Kyra were a very endearing couple and I found myself staying up until the wee hours of the morning begging the story for more. A perfect read!
I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.
What a great book, I loved the story and the characters. Quinn is a cop that has a secret doesn't want a relationship with anyone. Kyra has trouble trusting men, she has been hurt before and doesn't want to be hurt again. The sparks fly when these two come together. This type of story is a favorite of mine, romance mixed with suspense and drama. This is one you will not be able to put down until you get to the end and you will still be wanting more. I love the author writing style and I highly recommend reading this one.

Readers who like smart and sexy books with a lot of heart won't be disappointed by "Undercover Heat." Kyra, the female lead, is an easy character to root for, and I found myself wanting her to finally find a lasting love connection. And Tami Lund makes it easy to dislike the con artist that Kyra is pursuing. This story whets my appetite for other books in the series, and I was intrigued by the excerpt at the back of the book as well.
Love this story. Tami Lund makes a story interesting with her great storytelling, her witty banter and her awesome characters. I mean, Quinn s kind of an a**hole most of the time but holy h***, do I want to jump his a**holish bones. Only one in particular but that's okay. LOL
Anyway, I loved the whole story and I particulary loved the end. That was so damn sweet that I almost cried. Awesome job Tami. Love it!
Kyra and Quinn have been working together for six months and just don’t gel. When they are paired as a married couple undercover the chemistry is explosive but they both have so much baggage. These characters grab your heart from page one and I couldn’t quit reading till the very last word. Great afternoon read!
