Through the process of publishing this booklet I lost my sister, two brothers and my mother. It became abundantly clear we delay in putting our affairs in order. We do not wish to entertain the thought that one day we will no longer be here and we fail to make it easier for those we leave behind. We assume everything will go to the family, but we do not share information with them.
This is my attempt to address topics with hard and necessary questions. Some topics and questions might not be applicable. Hopefully after reading this booklet it will initiate action to assure your beneficiaries will receive what they are entitled to. Sharing information may not be necessary. Having your sources and documentation readily available is. Once your affairs are in order it is comforting to know family members will be taken care of instead of being taken advantage of.
Creating folders and responding to the tough questions will save you and your family overwhelming frustration, time and money. So let's begin to handle your affairs.
