How could you not be confused? These are uncharted territories, and there aren’t exactly instruction booklets you can buy on these topics. At best you’ll have well-meaning friends and family members advising you to go to therapy. But that’s not enough! You need direction, camaraderie, and reassurance.

And you need to know there are answers to your questions. You need to know people do emerge on the other side of their divorce happy and healthy. You need to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Don’t worry. You are not alone and you don’t need to make this journey by yourself.

Most of us suck at divorce. Why? Because it’s hard as hell. And we don’t have enough help pointing us in the right direction. So we just go at it, hoping we know what we’re doing… and that we’re not causing any permanent damage.

But that’s not the way it should be.

We need help to make it to the other side of the adventure unscathed.

And who do you want to get that help from?

Well, it’s not from someone who’s never met adversity.

You know that guy who married straight out of high school? Yeah, that guy. He is as lovey dovey now as when they first started dating. He’s got money, a house, and respectful kids.

What do we say about him?

Screw that guy!

He’s got nothing for us. He doesn’t know the challenges the rest of us face. He doesn’t know what it’s like to be in an agonizing situation.

No, in order to find someone who can relate to you and help you, you need someone who’s been through the ringer. Someone who has suffered, but learned countless gems as a result of the pain.

I suffered. I’m like you. I got married quite quickly, and the dumpster fire of a marriage that followed still haunts me.

But I’ve come out on top. I’ve pulled myself out from under all the garbage, with more than a few lessons learned.

I’ve been to hell and back… so you don’t have to.

Learn from me so you don’t have to learn these important lessons on your own.
