I'm the creator of the Kaira Renn fantasy series - a new urban fantasy packed with mystery, action, adventure and, above all, magic.

Set in The Society for the Preservation of Magical Artefacts, it follows the adventures of a young girl who has to learn magic and a lot of other things along the way! The series will contain five books.

I also write short thrillers under the pen name E.G. Ellory.

The good news is that this is the last book of the Shadowlands series. I have been reading several other series where you expect every new book to be the last, but it isn’t, and they drag on with more creative descriptions of battles long after you are ready for whatever war they are describing to end. Thankfully, the Shadowlands series isn’t going to be like that.

In fact, though the conflict in this series has been described all along as a war, for the last three books or so, it has appeared to be getting more and more like some sort of computer or video game. In this book, our intrepid group of adventurers from the town of Cliffmore is finally forced to abandon their earlier goal of not killing their teenage competitors from other towns as they approach the end of the quest. However, they still make a point of trying to harm as few people as possible.

By this point, they have acquired all the weapons, allies, and powers they are going to get. Most of the book is dedicated to describing how they manage to use these tools and powers creatively, joining the effects of two or more of them into more effective weapons.

It’s somewhat reminiscent of Lindo’s earlier Kaira Renn Series and its sequels. But the universe of the S.P.M.A. was brighter and more sparkly.

We are at the end of this incredible series and what an adventure it has been. Exciting, thrilling, gripping and totally captivating from book one as we joined Tom and his friends in their quests. In this finale book the author pulls no punches as they search for the magical cloak as well as battle demons and monsters in the shadowlands to free others and save the day. Twists and turns are thrown in our path as the author held us on the edge of our seat from start to finish and I have to say it is an epic conclusion to this epic fantasy series.

R. A. Lindo delivered an incredible and thrilling finale to the quest and fight against the Shadowlands. The friends were more concerned about the people trapped in the shadowlands and also their opponents. R. A. Lindo pulled no punches when the kids had to battle. And there were many twists, turns and surprises. As always, the world building was beautifully weaved and blended brilliantly and magically throughout the story! I have really enjoyed reading all of R. A. Lindo's books and I highly recommend reading this book!

What an exciting and thrilling finale to the quest and fight against the Shadowlands. I love that Tom was able to keep firmly in his mid the goal. I also love that the group of friends were concerned about the people trapped in the Shadowlands as well as their opponents. They were not selfish nor self centered. This was an AWESOME series!

Tom and his team of friends have come to the final showdown. Will they keep working together and prevail against the forces pitted against them, or will the Shadowlands win again?
No 'spoilers' here. You'll have to read the book to find out.
