New York City. For some it is the city of dreams, for others it is the city of dark secrets.
Tara is a curvy artist from Manhattan and sparks fly when she meets her sexy new neighbor Alex. It is not long before she and Alex are enjoying some of the steamiest sex she has ever had and Tara has fallen heavily for her ruggedly handsome lover.
However, Alex has a secret.
He is the ex-Alpha of a wolf pack from Michigan and he came to the city to flee the pack life and live a more "human" life.
In a city of 8 million humans, Alex figures he would just fade into the background and go unnoticed but he was wrong. Very wrong.
Little did Alex know, that by coming to the City he was not escaping anything. He was actually running into even more danger as it becomes apparent that he is not the only Alpha in the big city.
So when Sebastian, the Alpha Of Manhattan, learns of Alex's relationship with human Tara the death penalty is expected to follow but first he has an interesting proposition for the star crossed lovers...
Jasmine White has a huge passion for writing romance with a Paranormal edge to it. She is especially fond of shifters and is the proud co-owner of the "Simply Shifters" blog along with her long time best friend Jade White.
Her paranormal romances will often feature a hunky shifter in some sort of form and lots of excitement and, of course, bedroom activity!
When she is not writing she loves to snack on baked goods and can not resist a tub of cookie dough ice cream!
The plot was good in and of itself but the execution needed a lot of work. It seemed almost as if it was written by a child. If not for the sex scenes I could easily believe it was.
The story of Alex and Tara is just beginning in this book. Tara is a human that meets a gorgeous man in her elevator involving eggs. They go the usual route of attraction then she discovers he is a shifter. Alex is hurting and has to defend his right to date a human . They have to face other shifters together and just when they think they are going to have a HEA more stuff begins to happen
To be honest I didn't enjoy this book, it was predictable and full of cliches, also the characters talked to much! they went over the same things while talking and there were to much unnecessary dialogues. Also the author repeated the same adjectives around the book. In my opinion it was poor written.
This was a very captivating book. It grabs your attention and keeps you curious about what comes next. The characters were great and you feel for the shifters that are not happy with their alpha. Anxious to see what happens to, Alex and Tara on part two.
I've only read one other book that had a curvy woman who was mixed race I think the variety is awesome. Okay so firefighter Alex sounds scrumptious and Tara is so down to earth. The romance was kind of fast but it was still an enjoyable read.
Predictable, but good story. Seems like everyone has a twist on how shifters came into existence. Nice twist, but not anything to write home about. Maybe the next one will be a little more exciting.
I normally have to be in the mood to read a romance, but this one has got me hooked on this series. It's a very good deal for the price I picked it up and couldn't put it down. Wonder if there's a box set?
First book in series. Is a cliffhanger. First book I have read by this author and the story line has great potential. Will be reading second book. This is a shifter book. Short, easy read.
This was pretty good...it didn't hold my attention like I thought it would so it took me longer to read but overall I enjoyed the story and characters and will read the rest
the writing was rushed and unbelievable. the story could have been great if it wasnt so rushed and the characters didnt say things that were so unbelievable. also they fell in love to fast.
3.8 fue fue una buena leyenda cambia forma. Y también presentó un buen problema. Pero el romance aunque bonito no me engancho en el equipo del lobo y tara.
i have read 4 of the city of alpha books but cant seem to find number 5 but says buy complete set when already have 4 i have really enjoyed these books ?
